Westcountrylovescheese · 01/04/2012 10:36

Your poor Grandpa Suzie, I hope his tracheotomy (sp?) goes well. Sounds like it'll be good to have him speaking again.

Hope you are feeling better today marmite.

MrsMigginslovespies · 01/04/2012 12:27

Susie, really sorry to hear you're having a tough time but hope your grandpa gets well soon.

glittershoes · 01/04/2012 21:02

Sorry about your Grandpa Susie - it must be a really hard time for all of you at the moment.

I have been thinking of you lots as well marmite, it must be a complete rollercoster at the moment. Please look after yourself and remember that your baby will be absolutely perfect. It must be so stressful, please just offload here whenever you need too. Sending huge hugs x

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 01/04/2012 22:39

Sorry to read about your Grandad susie I hope they can find the best treatment for him, and that you're all getting enough support through this tough time. :( Good luck with the car, I hope it's just a replacement belt and nothing else.

picturethis Hope your DD is mending well?
Marmite how are you doing? thinking of you. And echo what everyone else has said.
Geekette I've gotta go for a proper bra fitting as well Confused
Thanks for asking susie puffy feet still a bit puffy, but not as much now the weather has cooled down a bit. Will see what Dr says on Tues.

Good luck to everyone with scans this week :

panpipe · 02/04/2012 09:42

Aww marmite and susie sorry to hear you're both still having a tough time. Thinking of you both and do come and offload as much as you want x

We had a busy weekend; went to the NCT nearly new sale on Saturday to volunteer and to get some stuff for baby; came home having spent £90 but got loads - moses basket, cot, baby bath, bouncer, blankets, playnest, toys, Dream Genii pillow etc etc! My back didn't thank me for it though so I spent most of the afternoon lying flat on the sofa.

I've been feeling a bit concerned as well as baby has been really active and wriggly for the last few weeks but over the weekend has been quieter. Still been feeling movements but not as much as usual. I don't know if this is normal or if I should check anything with the midwife yet.

NeedlesCuties · 02/04/2012 12:15

Hello all!

DS still has chickenpox, so haven't been able to go out anywhere over the weekend, which was a bit of a bummer.

Realised this morning that I haven't felt baby move in 2 days, but have been so busy with DS and things at home that I couldn't be 100% sure that maybe I'd just missed it. Also, bump was feeling smaller and I was worried about leaking waters.

Rang MW who told me to go to hospital for scan to check everything. Baby had beating heart and breathing lungs but appeared to be sleeping. Placenta is cushioning his/her kicks so that is why I haven't felt anything the past few days. Dr said that she isn't concerned about the placenta as it and baby can move during this stage of pregnancy (20+3)

Also, they checked me internally to see if I was leaking waters. They don't think I am, bump just nice and neat.... compared to this stage of pregnancy with DS anyway, as I was huuuge then Wink

panpipe sorry you're worried. If you think it'd put your mind at ease then ringing the MW won't do any harm. Or it could just be in a position where you can't feel as much atm, like my baby.

capecath · 02/04/2012 12:58

susie sorry about your grandpa :( Hang in there, there is still hope.

westcountry I had luscious locks with last pregnancy! Apparently the hormone that makes you lose hair as your normally do is not as strong (or something like that) when you're pregnant so you lose less hair (like, less comes out in your hairbrush) and that makes it look like you gain hair, but you're actually just losing less. I freaked out a few months after having DS when it all started falling out - thought I was going bald!! Hmm

needles I may have missed it but is your placenta anterior? That would explain lack of movements. I'm at 20+6 weeks and hardly felt anything, so suspected anterior placenta which was confirmed today at scan! But not low lying so that is good. Very happy to report all is well and healthy with baby, and good size, despite small bump (also smaller than with DS).

NeedlesCuties · 02/04/2012 13:22

capecath yes, the placenta appears to be so. Did you have that with your previous pregnancy? From what I can remember I didn't have that with DS... but then again I have hyperemesis this pregnancy that I didn't have with DS.

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 02/04/2012 13:58

Hello ladies, currently checking in from antenatal ward bed after midnight dash to maternity triage because of a lot of bleeding :( 22+ 1 today.

See are you awake I need a hand hold post :o

being very well looked after and bump seems to be doing ok so far!

Fingers crossed. Xx

capecath · 02/04/2012 14:19

Aw poppy bleeding is scary!! Do they know what was causing it and has it stopped? Are you in pain or just beleeding? xx

needles I really can't remember if placenta was anterior last time! In my ignorance I didn't really take note... I had loads of bleeding at 28 weeks then DS arrived at 33 weeks with more bleeding, but that may have been due to a low lying placenta or placental abruption. Due to chat to consultant soon so hopefully they'll be able to shed some more light. But this pregnancy feels very different to last time so thinking may be a girl and even on time... but who knows :)

panpipe · 02/04/2012 14:20

Poppy I just read your other thread - you must have been beside yourself with worry! Glad that you're being seen to and that things look to be ok at the moment.

needles thanks for that - I didn't realise that placenta can move as well. Everything seemed to be in the right place at scan 2 weeks ago so don't know if it might have moved since. Baby seems to be a bit more active today but I think I'll start noting down times now to see if there's a pattern emerging.

Lovemarmite · 02/04/2012 14:36

Hope you all is well with you Poppy, keep us posted!

Needles hope you're doing good too!

panpipe my LO has been quieter the last two days and then really started to kick on Saturday night. My bump seems to go up and down too with some days when I feel pregnant and others days when I'm happy to charge around.

Saw my new mw this morning and she's really lovely, she came to my home which was really great, but I spent most of the time crying - she was very reassuring but I wonder if she regrets taking me on now Wink

Bought a nursing chair yesterday from ebay. Looked great there but as we drove it home, realised that it's been soaked in fabreze or carpet cleaner and the fumes made me throw up and I can't face the cushions coming into the house... getting an upholstery cleaner to come round and get the smell out. Big lesson for me - don't spend too much on ebay or be prepared to pay more for cleaning it!
Also bought a few baby clothes from the White Company sale - bargains, organic cotton for £7. Feel a bit happier and the little bits I've bought has helped me look forward rather than my previous rock bottom pit I was in.

Thanks everyone for your support x

MrsMigginslovespies · 02/04/2012 17:05

Ahh, hope you're doing ok Poppy. Keep us posted with your progress and hugs. And glad to hear Marmite you're also doing ok with your new MW and White Company bits. Needles hope you're also a bit more reassured.

I've also indulged a bit for the LO from there and am waiting for my delivery.

Also have an anterior placenta so that might explain why I've not felt as much kicking. Have had a tiny bit of a brown showing just now which made me ring the MW who was v nice and said to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, to come in. Eek. Bit worried now but am going to have a rest in a mo.

All so scary this baby stuff and odd that a few on here are having tough times with one thig or another.

The3Bears · 02/04/2012 18:29

Susie so sorry about your grandad, hope he starts to feel abit better soon

picturethis Hope your dd is okay aswell

Hope your okay poppy keep us updated and sending you lots of hugs x

marmite How annoying about the nursing chair, and good on you for having a splurge on the white company sale, so did I Blush

missmiggins Just have a good rest tonight and hopefully it will be nothing to worry about, your right about this pregnancy being scary Ive been having horrible cramp pains all morning kind of like period pains but not so bad I couldnt move etc and was v worried but just relaxed with ds for abit and watched a film and they seemed to have dissapeared im thinking they were just stretching pains or something like that.
I also keep having really big kicks from baby really low down which keep making me jump they feel v odd and baby feels v strong now.

Hope everyone is having a nice monday x

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 02/04/2012 19:50

Oh MrsM, hope it settles down and clears up.
capecathit was painless bleeding which they think is caused by my low lying placenta, which is covering cervix at the mo. :(
bump's been wriggling around and had several heartbeat checks and all is ok at mo. They don't know when or where the bleed is from but cervix is closed atm. Phew.

Will gladly swap this for my non exciting week last week! :o

Thanks so much for all the wishes; sending them back to everyone who needs/wants them. Xx

geekette · 02/04/2012 23:05

Are you home now poppy?
glad LO is fine for now. must have been scary!

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 03/04/2012 07:41

Morning geekette, still in hospital. :(
They won't let me out until I've stopped bleeding for at least 24hrs. Looking good so far today though! :o

Little one's been checked again this morning. And he is doing ok :)

MrsM how are you doing this morning? And Marmite, v pleased to read your MW is lovely, and hope that you continue to be well supported. Brew

MrsMigginslovespies · 03/04/2012 09:44

Glad to hear you're ok Poppy today. And home today will be lovely Smile. Am ok but not amazing. Had shocking sleep and spoke to MW just now about the low pain I have and tingling bum(?!). She thinks it's pelvic pain and gave me some things to help. Meh, feel tired, sore and bit stressed and wish I could see LO to check he's ok. Does anyone have their own heartbeat monitor at home? Am tempted to get on...

It's snowing here and cold. Going to stay in with DH and watch trash tv.

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 03/04/2012 09:58

Oh MrsM rest up and take it easy. Hope you feel better soon.

They won't let me out today :( oh well, it's not the best place but at least little one is being constantly checked.

I bought a angel doppler thingy on Ebay, but think it might be at home waiting for me. Although, midwife here couldn't find bump's heartbeat for ages, so I doubt I 'll have much luck! :)

hamncheese · 03/04/2012 11:01

Feel bad having not been on here in days (didn't even have the post in the 'I'm on' bit... grr!) and then I do come on and I've not been here for all the trying stuff everyone is going through. Sorry!! Won't go in to specifics with you all but have read all the posts and sending best wishes to you all. Try and stay positive everyone! I feel bad that crappy stuff is happening to any of the people on our post... looks like all the babies are doing okay though so that's really good.

Has anyone been for a routine MW appointment recently? I have my "22 week" one tomorrow and my Mum is gaga with excitement as I asked if she wanted to come along (we are going out shopping after) and is really keen to see if they measure my bump or do the heartbeat again. I told her it would probably be just a blood test but I am considering being cheeky and asking for the heartbeat seeing as mum will be there. Poor DH is miffed he won't hear it but she will... oh well! Anyway if you have had yours what was done? I've not been measured at all... do they still do that? Hmm

Anyway hope all of you have a better/good day than the weekend and keep warm out of the snow if you have it! Off to unearth all the winter clothes I packed away 2 weeks ago Angry

[21+2]

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 03/04/2012 11:08

I was due to have mine today, but had to cancel :o but they was going to do measurements and listen to hb (so they told me), so fingers crossed they might do that for you too. :o

don't feel bad hamncheese Thanks it's just so busy on here! Hope you're doing ok?

Just reading about the snow! Madness!

McBaby · 03/04/2012 11:51

Sorry not posted in for a week or so. 20 week scan was all fine except for a grumpy man doing the scan.

Finally think I got to the bottom of the pain on my stomach. Ended up in maternity day assessment unit in sat as walking sent excruciating pain through my pelvis. Baby is fine but have pubic symphysis dysfunction. They said there is not a lot you can do except avoid things that make it hurt, rest and take painkillers. Roll on August!!

Sorry to hear others are suffering to why does no one tel you pregnancy can be so stressful and painful!!

capecath · 03/04/2012 13:16

poppy hope you get home today! Think the lack of pain along with the bleeding is a good sign. My painless bleeding at 28 weeks last time was blamed on a polyp but definitely was the placenta coming away when baby arrived with bleeding and contractions at 33 weeks... Not to scare you though - I know someone else who had bleeding at 24 weeks with placenta previa and then baby arrived on time!

hamncheese got routine appointment coming up soon. Not yet been measured and not yet heard heartbeat so am hopeful for this next one... But scan yesterday was all ok so feeling reassured anyway.

McBaby wow that sounds painful!! Oh dear :(

MrsMigginslovespies · 03/04/2012 13:51

Ham, I had a MW appointment at 18ish weeks and they measured bump and did heartbeat too. Also had BP done too and urine. But at my 20 week anomaly scan last week, was just long san and BP taken to see if it was going up (which it was). HTH.
