poppy I am 19+4 and I can feel little tiny moves a few times a day, not huge ones, Remenber we're all different and it depends on our size etc. I know I feel mine more if I sit very still.
I went for a walk today, it was good to get out but it's a walk I did a lot pre bump, it now feels exhausting.

NeedlesCuties · 18/03/2012 19:00

I fell off this thread Hmm

Am back now, sitting down for 20 minutes before heading out to church PM service.

Seriously craving a cream egg... might need to do a detour via the garage on way to buy one....

That is really it:- I'm a bit of a hungry muncher at the moment, still having the dreaded sickness and I'm 18+2 Angry

Hope you're all well!

Westcountrylovescheese · 18/03/2012 19:55

Poppy, I am feeling flutters occasionally but still not everyday... I read up on it a bit and you are not expected to feel proper consistent movements till week 24 or so.

19+5 today, scan on Tuesday...!

susiegrapevine · 18/03/2012 22:38

Hey ladies I had a fab mothers day. Got a nice lie in till 10! Got a lovely card from ds who is 20 months he had done some scribble in it and when I opened it he said draw lol so I let him do some more. Went to chinese all you can eat buffet for lunch with my family mum sisters etc. Went back to mums for sandwiches and cakes for dinner lol. Total pig out! In fact all weekend. Went for a pub dinner for my bro in laws birthday had rack of ribs and chips with mega ice cream sunday! Sat went to a mates house warming and had curry with all the trimmings and banoffe to finish! Am feeling very fat!!

tashaw28 · 18/03/2012 23:11

Farmerswifey and Dragon how cute!! I'd have cried too!
I got a lovely card from DD1 and DS2 with chocs and a handmade friendship braclet ( that barely fits) but was the cutest thing ever! Have also eaten WAY too much this weekend and am currently in bed feeling quite sick!

Glad I'm not the only one feeling inconsistent kicks as it was worrying me slightly, especially as did some skipping with DD1 today and then worried I'd shaken it around too much!
18 today

capecath · 19/03/2012 08:13

Had a lovely mother's day too! DS gave me lots of choc (with help of DH, by special request to satisfy mad choc cravings...) and DH cooked bacon, poached egg, pancakes and hollandaise sauce - was sooo yum.

hamncheese · 19/03/2012 11:36

needles really really hope you stop feeling sick like... now! It still to be ongoing is just not fair.

I'm loving the movements now I'm sure what they are. Feel them each day, usually when still, I think they are ongoing and only noticable when I sit still to feel them. Mind you wee one was kicking away while I was driving the other day! Will need to get that bump belt thingo out!

Tell me about it west I used to be pretty fit before I got pregnant, running etc. Now after 4 months of no energy and no exercise I have no puff arg!

(19+1... where did the time go!)

glittershoes · 19/03/2012 13:12

Hello! Sorry for the absence - we moved this weekend and it has been a bit crazy and busy!

We are now in the new house (although very much not sorted!) and are battling to sort out all teething problems (the heaters aren't particularly efficient and I was lectured by my Dad about how expensive they would be to run - thanks Dad, just what you should say to an already stressed and overemotional pregnant woman!). Not liking being at work today when there is so much I could be doing at home!

So lovely to hear all the scan news and all the movement stories! I have definitely felt some kicks but they are very hit and miss and not regular at all. Looking forward to them becoming more frequent.

Sorry that a lot of you seem to be getting headaches, I haven't had any but have got the most crazy itchy boobs! They are driving me mad! Anyone else?

Who has a scan this week? Mine is a week on Thursday and I am counting down the days! 10 to go!

capecath · 19/03/2012 13:17

glittershoes no itchy boobs but certainly sore! Maybe they are growing? Also very excited about scan, but still 2 weeks to go!

Also hardly any movement... But then when I get a little I feel relieved, things seem to be ok.

sc0ttishlass · 19/03/2012 14:48

hi All - been ages since i posted - went for a weeks holiday to Corwall and then just been lazily reading whats going on since I got back!

sorry for all the folks with headaches - i have had them about 5 or 6 times -but they do tent to last overnight or full day - my latest experience is heartburn - had it most of last week (have never had it in my life before!) horrid feeling. its hard, as they say eat less and more often - but i just cant seem to cut down my portion control - have become SO greedy!

had a rubbish mornign with my hospital - i had those blood tests 3 weeks ago to see if DS etc - no letter as yet - phoned to see if there were results and was put through 7o 5 different departments all saying it wasnt them - useless. so am none the wiser!

just incase anyone else has a worrying situ like me - had a minor car hazard on Friday (lost control of vehicle, car skidded and ended up facing wrong way facing in to a roundabout - i had a puncture day before so had the stupid small space saver trye on, plus chucking down) - so i didnt hit anythnig but was just stressed to teh max and petrified i had done something - doctor checked me out, we heard heartbeat and said all is fine - she said at this stage becuase they are so tiny, they are really well protected and yes, my blood pressure would have shot through the roof but it would haev been fine - some people have high blood pressure throughout - i coudltn stop crying all day - adn into saturday - given this is my DS1 its funny when you start thinking of someone else - an overwhelming feeling :)

on nicer stuff - i have i think chosen pram - we are going to get it in a couple of weeks as mum is getting us it - i think will go for the uppababy vista - it gets a lot of great reviews, which awards etc -isnt hideously expensive - and i think does what i want!

anyway - good to hear about all the scans, and who is having a boy or girl (we are not finding out ) - my scan not for over 2 weeks - cannot wait! and welcome to any newcomers ;)

xx

Angel786 · 19/03/2012 15:00

Hello all - sounds like everyone had a fab weekend.

I'm 20 weeks today and terrified at how quickly the time is flying (with dd i was desperate for it to hurry up already!).

Mother's day was lovely dd (16 months so more like dh) got me a small bottle of champagne Grin although had my parents and inlaws over on Sat which was a bit of a 'mare. MiL refuses to listen to anything - pretty hellbent and teaching dd made up words and Burmese (she spent a few years in Burma as a child) - I asked nicely if we could start with English (as we live in England) and then add Urdu / Punjabi (Pakistani origin) before other languages / making up words and she just carried on was seething Angry !! This is not the 1st time mil and I have clashed btw!

NeedlesCuties · 19/03/2012 15:20

Lol, angel your post made me laugh, but I know you must be frustrated.

Would be great if your DD could be bi or tri-lingual, but I agree that it's a bit Hmm for your MIL to be teaching her made-up words! Burmese, Urdu and Punjabi sounds very interesting though.... after English of course!

I used to be quite good at sign language as I needed it for work, but since I am now a SAHM I've lost a lot of it. But I've been trying to teach DS (25 months) a good few signs and he's been picking it up well.

Sadly the extent of my foreign languages is only a few phrases of French from GCSE, not very exotic.

littlelamb1980 · 19/03/2012 18:17

Hi all, I haven't posted in a while but have been enjoying reading your posts. Hello to all the new people and congrats to everyone who has had their 20 week scan.

I am 20 weeks today, so happy to be halfway there Grin! I have been feeling proper kicks this past week when I lie on the sofa (which is a lot of the time nowadays!), one had me jumping up yesterday. Such a weird feeling, like when you drive quickly over a bump and your stomach kind of drops but reassuring as well. Also DH has been able to feel a few of them and he is so excited, think it makes it feel a bit more real especially now I'm getting a bit of a bump.
I've got my scan on Friday, which I'm a bit nervous about but also excited to see the baby again. I never thought I would want to find out the sex but I have absolutely NO patience so will find out if we can. I'm convinced it's a boy but don't mind either way.
Sorry to hear about those suffering from headaches. I had them for a couple of weeks at the three month mark but thankfully I've not had anymore. Heartburn on the other hand is killing me! I should buy some shares in Gaviscon as I am getting through the stuff at a scary rate. I know I should eat smaller meals throughout the day but I'm a three meals a day person and it's hard to break the habit!
Bit of a long post there sorry to ramble! Hope everyone has had a good day and good luck to everyone who has their 20 week scan this week!

Gnomi · 19/03/2012 18:20

Hi everyone,

Glad things are going ok for most people. Sorry to hear about your car accident ScottishLass. Your family sounds... interesting Angel!

I'm 20 weeks today too! I've been feeling movement almost every day for the last two weeks or so, there was a really big kick on Saturday, and I shouting for DH, but of course, then the baby stopped moving and went back to sleep. He's jealous that I can feel it of course.

We have our 20 week scan on Wednesday. We're planning on finding out if it's a boy or a girl. Does anyone know of the likelihood/chances of error? We were going to tell most people, but I'd feel awful if we said we were expecting a boy and then a little girl popped out (or vice versa). Smile

I've got a cold too, and have felt seriously groggy all weekend. Hot drinks are the only thing that make me feel any better. I'm not taking anything for it which makes me more irritable. The poor kids at school today have had to cope with me being tired, snotty and partially deaf. Wonderful!

Lovemarmite · 19/03/2012 18:34

Great to hear about the movements and scans - wow, 20 weeks and we're half way! We have mine next Tuesday and really looking forward to it.

Was up most of the night with terrible tummy problem last night and a night sweat the night before and so feel really tired and weak today. Just hope all is okay as I was pretty sick but I guess they're pretty protected in there!

Hope all colds disappear asap!

Hmm I am sure my MIL might be a challenge soon as she's getting more excited than us about it all and so I sympathesize with you angel!

Angel786 · 19/03/2012 19:45

Hope you feel better lovemarmite

Lots of us seem to be 20 weeks all at once! although I still have to wait a few weeks for the scan... Still waiting to see if boy/ girl!

Feeling a bit better about the mil thing. Just drives me nuts that she won't listen to what I say, last to e I said you can give dd a mini packet of buttons. She takes buttons plus other chocs to feed her... Dreading trying to control her when there's dd plus baby!

needles wish i'd taught dd sign language as a baby, they learn it v quickly!

sc0ttishlass · 19/03/2012 20:49

thanks Gnomi - was just another wee reminder of how precious life is.

littlelamb - im with you on the heartburn - ive had it for teh past week - at first i was racking my brain trying to think what i had eaten that had burnt my insides but then i read up on it and sussed it out - having never had it before was a shock! i have bought peppermint tea to see if that helps - hope the gaviscon helps :O)

wont be long for bed - went at 8 last ngiht and slept till 8am - do you think this is our bodies way of getting us caught up on sleep before august?? xx

thanks for the replies about movements ladies, very helpful :)

Good luck to everyone having scans this week - how exciting.

Scottishlass hope you're ok? :(

Lovely to read about the mother's day stuff, can't believe that'll be me next year - eek.

and - da da daaaaaahhhh - I DON'T HAVE A HEADACHE TODAY! :o

Sorry for shouting, but just had to put that out there.

Symptom update - sore boobs, but not itchy yet. Getting mild heartburn, so gluping milk like anything to try and stop it. Really suffer from this anyway :(

Did a big sneeze today and made bump jump, which I thought was quite cute.

Wishing you all a lovely Tuesday. Flowers

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/03/2012 17:14

Hello all,

Hope y'all are well. Amazing to think we're so far along already.

Just a wee one to say I had a MW appointment just now and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time! Amazing and got quite emotional about it all. Had a different lady this time and also v nice. She seemed pleased with my progress but I got the impression she thinks I'm doing too much rushing around and wants to lend me lots of hypotherapy relaxation cds! Oh well. Headaches due too to possible dehydration and hormones. So will need to up my fluids even more. Yikes. Not sat down all day so time for tea and brownies. TTFN x

Vinolover · 20/03/2012 17:47

Hello al :)

Oh my goodness Scottishlass that sounds really scary :( Hope you're ok now.

Poppy I have sore boobs too, especially at night, and they aren't itchy either. My legs on the other hand!! I actually have scratch marks on my shins where I have been scratching them so much. I also resemble a snake shedding it's skin where it's so dry everywhere. Really must invest in a good moisturiser.

I was lying on the sofa and bubs decided it's wriggle time, so I called my two children over and we all watched him kick around :) Was a really special moment :) Now all that's left is for DH to see it.

Only another 9 days until scan. Getting very nervous now!

PictureThis · 20/03/2012 18:06

I'm now the one suffering with the headache, I've had it for the last 2 days and I'm sure it's a combo of stress and hormones. House is going on the market this week and DH keeps 'reminding' me to do things which is driving me bloody nuts as I've not forgotten what needs to be done. So I politely told him to " FUCK OFF " this morning as he started as soon as I opened my eyes Angry. He's the one with the memory of a goldfish not me. Sorry, rant over.

Aside from that, feeling little movements most days. They're more like flutters rather than hoofing kicks. 17+1 today, almost halfway. Time is flying.

hamncheese · 20/03/2012 19:15

miggins I highly recommend hypnotherapy cds. I have progressive muscle relaxation ones which are really good. I use them cause I get panic attacks sometimes. Well I used to get them more but barely have them now only I had one, in the middle of the night last night :( always happens when I'm stressed but not letting out the stress... been trying so hard to stay positive about things like waiting for the house to sell that I've been bottling up. Anyway it sucks but going to do the cd tonight because I was really upset that me panicking would be freaking out the baby. And then was getting stressed out by the constraints of being pregnant, like you have to be so careful over everything, eating, drinking, exercising too little/too much, and especially not to worry/stress. UGH. Anyway going to have a bath and then the cd.

Hope you are all well and glad to see fewer headaches!

sc0ttishlass · 20/03/2012 20:03

thanks all - im absolutely fine now - but more wantet to share the good news that the midwife says they really are very resilient at this stage and a lot of protection in there :)

talkign about CDS - have any of you done hypnobirthing previously? 2 of my friends have (one in london did a full day course with her husband, and one in Glasgow just go the CDs and books) - any thoughts??

sorry for those with headaches and v exciting with all the scans and heartbeats!!

xx

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 20/03/2012 21:26

If anyone's selling their house in/near London let me know :o, we're still trying to find one to buy, and that's stressing me out! Confused
