Been meaning to say hello for ages, great everyone is blooming! Still not feeling very pg, can't imagine feeling lo movements but hopefully soon - still only 15 wks. Not sure about bump though have def put on weight but dp convinced it's there. Just had to buy evening gown for a ball when I'll be 20 wks, trying to make sure will accommodate growing bump and still be something I can wear afterwards was a challenge!

Angel786 · 12/03/2012 00:14

Thanks mrsmiggins Thanks Wink

farmerswifey · 12/03/2012 08:40

Thank you for adding me to the list Needles. I'll be happy for you to put baby's flavour up when we find out on Wednesday - getting quite nervous now!

I can't believe I'm 20 weeks - It feels like we have so much to do before little one arrives and time seems to be going SO quickly. S/he'll be here before we know it Grin Might be time to start writing a to-do list.

therumoursaretrue · 12/03/2012 09:28

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)

Mine was a bit up and down as expected. DP's mum got a diagnosis on Friday and as suspected it is cancer. Has been a bit of a shock for everyone involved. His brother was only diagnosed a few days after Christmas so 2012 has been a bit of a rough year so far to say the least. Our lovely baby arriving in August feels like even more of a blessing now when set against everything else that is going on.
I am trying to just be there for DP as much as possible but its hard to know what to say or do at times.

Just want to say thank you to everyone who passed on their support and best wishes, it really does mean a lot. Thanks

The3Bears · 12/03/2012 09:54

So sorry rumours what a horrible thing to be going through, at least you are there for your dp, im sure thats what matters the most at such a horrible time. x

Hope everyones weekend was fun, mine was mostly tidying up garden, sorting all ds's toys out and childrens partys etc not v exciting but at least garden looks better prepared for spring now :) Just got to jetwash all the patio and garden toys next weekend should be fun Grin

18+2 today cannot believe how quick this is going August is going to be here before we know it, Needles Im happy for you to put boy/girl up when we find out on 27th so exciting!!!
Ive been very forgetful and clumsy so far into this pregnancy keep getting words muddled up all the time Blush my nails and hair are also amazing atm I usually have v brittle nails that snap easily but they look amazing now and my hair is growing so much keep getting comments about how glossy it looks aswell Blush so I am loving this bit, hope it stays this way anyone else the same?

Is anyone planning on having a 3d/4d scan? I had one with ds at 26+5 and it was amazing planning on having one this time at the same dates, if funds allow as all spare money is going towards car now :(

Hope everyones having a fun Monday, im going to do some more sorting out, next thing to tackle is ds's wardrobe and bookcase.

NeedlesCuties · 12/03/2012 11:51

Sorry to hear about that rumours it's good that you can be there to support your DP and family.

DS (aged 2) had a total meltdown today as we were entering toddler group. Lying down on floor, screaming, shouting etc etc. I kept him in the foyer away from the other kids and toys till he was calming but was Hmm when 2 of the leaders came out at different times to check we were okay. Felt like telling them to buzz off, but just smiled and said I had it under control.

Once we got into the main hall where the toys and kids were DS had another series of tantrums whenever another child came near whatever toy it was he was playing with - he was pushing, shouting, spitting etc etc. Mortified is how I felt, plus the morning sickness, plus generally not knowing the other mums all that well. Just wanted to sit and cry. We're home now and he's happy again, but I was annoyed earlier.

Just needed a rant!!!

Going to see community midwife this afternoon for general check-up and will hopefully get to hear the heartbeat. I like this stage with movements and a nice neat bump. I weighed myself last night and I'm the exact same weight as I was at the start of pregnancy! Wasn't expecting that! But I think it's cuz of having hyperemesis and not really having a proper appetite most of the time.

(17+3)

MrsMigginslovespies · 12/03/2012 18:11

Rumours sorry to hear your sad news. Thinking of you and yours.

Just for a change, feel tired and headachy. Still not blooming much, but getting bit better I guess. Had dull day at work and will be glad when I'm not driving 40mins each way on winding country roads to get there. Plus boss is a bit odd and I'm just not in the mood!! Grumble!

Going to have sausages, bacon, eggs and toast for supper! Then maybe bath and bed to finish my book.

Bon nuit! x

Vinolover · 12/03/2012 18:45

I'm so sorry about your news rumours :( Thinking of you all.

Sounds like you had a very stressful time of it Needles. I hope he's better the next time you go.

Your supper sounds great Mrs Miggins :) YUM!! I was really good and had a roast chicken salad with just a few garlic potatoes but couldn't resist the snickers ice cream i've just had! My goodness, they should be banned lol.

eightieshopaholic · 12/03/2012 20:24

Hi all, gave in Sat and had a private scan, was really funny she started to scan me and said must warn you we don't give a 100% guarantee then we saw little one on the scan how should I say it was standing proud!! well she said there's not confusing this one lol!! so were having a boy, went out and bought a few things in blue nice not to keep thinking blue/pink pink/blue!!
can't wait to start feeling proper kicks had occasional flutters I think but not sure.
Needle happy for you to put boy.

WelshLadyCDF · 12/03/2012 20:27

eighties how exciting wowed!!
what sex did you think it was before you went for the scan?
I have mine a week friday,
xx

eightieshopaholic · 12/03/2012 20:46

I seemed to keep heading for the blue clothes even though would have loved a girl but seemed drawn to blue from the first couple of weeks!! I really didn't mind girl or boy so really happy! x

tashaw28 · 12/03/2012 20:52

rumours so sorry to hear your news, hope everything works out.

I had my 16 week appt today and the Dr could'nt find the heartbeat with the doppler so had to get the scan machine out, gulp, was a worrying few minutes but then she found it and it was asleep, PHEW!!!

Anyway she said I am fine for a VBAC but couldn't really answer any of the questions I asked, but I was so glad to see it again didn't really mind!

Am desperate for April 5th now, my 20 week scan, hurry up!!!

Angel786 · 12/03/2012 21:06

Rumours so sorry to hear that I as hoping by some miracle the diagnosis would come back as something less serious. Hope you are doing ok.

3bears i had a 3d/4d with dd and it was AMAZING Grin have found a deal on Groupon so it's less expensive than otherwise (still not cheap tho - about £100)

80s - how exciting - can't wait to find out about ours now! Sounds like you thought it was a boy before you knew.

Needles - tantrums Sad dd decided to scratch and slap my face this evening for no reason other than that I was taking too long to put her milk in the microwave (she's 15 months) - going to try out a naughty step style discipline or sth as she never plays up with the staff at nursery Blush

All - can you believe the october thread is also on their third thread?!

NeedlesCuties · 12/03/2012 21:07

Here is the list, have added Vino and 80s BOY to the stats, congrats! I have a boy and he is lovely :) I think this baby is a girl, but will need to wait till mid-April to find out...

dragonleo · 12/03/2012 21:27

Sorry to hear your bad news rumours. Hope you and your family are doing ok.

Had my 20-week scan today (although am a few days shy of 20 weeks)....
and to my utter surprise they said it's a girl! Was convinced it was a boy (carrying at the front and low and no sickness). Am ecstatic and really excited to buy cute little dresses for her. The lady did say she could only be 98% sure because it still could be hiding something!

Angel786 · 12/03/2012 21:57

Congratulations dragon - I really can't wait another 4 weeks now!

My 20 week scan is not until 22 weeks Sad

Been busy (light heartedly!) blogging about the differences between first and subsequent pregnancies - would love feedback if people are going through their second / third etc pregnancy here

PictureThis · 12/03/2012 22:00

Ooh Dragonleo how exciting. I've got my scan on the 11th and we want to find out what this one is. When we do I'll be happy to have it put up on the list. I'm feeling it move quite alot but it has been hard to differentiate between movements and dodgy tummy which I seem to have had quite a lot of. Makes a change to being constipated I suppose.

I've definitely bloomed, I can't do pregnancy subtly. I look massive but then there was a lot of me to start with. Anyway, MIL was the first to make the 'are you sure it's not twins' comment that became so tiresome last time. I should prepare myself as I'm sure it will be the first of many between now and August.

therumoursaretrue · 13/03/2012 01:59

My brain is officially melting! I have attempted to post here about 3 times already and each time got distracted and thought I had posted when in fact I hadn't! So in answer to the discussion up-thread, I would definitely say I'm a bit foggy and forgetful at the minute too!

I would blame this entirely on pregnancy but the sad truth is I think it's just the way I am Blush

I was hoping the same angel I found it terribly hard to deal with when I heard, was alone in the house and just broke-down and then felt guilty because I feel like I should be the strong one at the minute. Thanks so much to everyone again for the support, its good to have an outlet here. Hopefully the next few weeks and months will be gentle on us all. Planning for the baby seems to be a welcome distraction for DP, he has thrown himself into house hunting again and has been talking about his plans for the nursery Grin

Its so lovely to hear about everyone's scans, I can't wait for ours in April! I don't think we are going to find out the gender but we both have a feeling we have a boy on the way for some reason.

hamncheese · 13/03/2012 07:29

Here for you too rumors Thanks

Congratulations on your girl dragonleo and your boy eighties :D it's nice to be finding out what others are having when we will be waiting til August.

I've started getting really big in the belly of late and I'm calling the wee one podgey atm haha! Love my podger Grin

Anyone else getting evening sickness?? Confused the fun never stops!

The3Bears · 13/03/2012 09:42

Last night I felt my baby kick!!! Grin I was lying down about to go asleep and had my hand on my belly hoping to feel something, gave up and moved my hand and felt 4 little kicks right in the middle there was no mistaking it at all! Not felt a thing since but was lovely last night :) 18+3 today

Congratulations on your girl dragonleo and eighties your boy! How exciting 2 weeks left until my scan :)

Hope everyones okay x

Lovemarmite · 13/03/2012 09:43

Sorry to hear your news rumours, sending a big hug to you and your DP.

Great to hear all the scans and boy/girl news! Wow time is marching on now.

I've been feeling a bit tired and my bump seems to have grown and got heavier. I'm feeling more movements but they're feeling more like deep aches than anything else. I kind of thought feelings would be like cute little pokes and things and so maybe I have ligament pains still?
20 week scan in two weeks and getting excited but rather alarmed at how my body has been changing. Is anyone else finding their nipples really sore?

Mine have a strange look about them with some unusual yellowing on actual nipples. Sorry if this is too much tmi!

Wishing you a lovely Tuesday Brew

hamncheese · 13/03/2012 11:58

I'm glad you are saying your movements are like aches marmite that's exactly how mine feel and I was thinking they might just be stretching instead but some are in very specific acute places so thinking maybe not...

therumoursaretrue · 13/03/2012 12:10

Thank you ham and marmite

I had 16 week check up this morning and heard babys heartbeat :o it really did cheer me up so much! DP was at work and he is really jealous that he didn't get to hear. Now I have an unexpected day of from uni, so I am camped on the sofa watching This Morning and craving a big Tiramisu thanks to Gino!

The3bears how lovely that you felt kicks! I have been having flutters for a couple of weeks but can't wait to feel real kicks.

Vinolover · 13/03/2012 12:53

Congratultations on your girl Dragon and your boy eighties :) It's so exciting to know for sure isn't it... Everytime I go into a shop I come out with something blue for my little Billy bumper.

I have been so healthy all last week and through to today but my goodness I just want to sit and eat my body weight in a block of cadburys chocolate! Something I have noticed though since cutting all the crap out - My headaches have disappeared!!! I also haven't suffered with the heartburn either. Maybe I will just stick to my little snickers ice cream treat once in a while.

miaboo · 13/03/2012 14:02

Went to the midwifes today and she found babys heart beat :) so pretty happy as she couldnt find it 2 weeks ago and this appointment was purely for that, Have felt baby kicking but didnt want to convince myself to much untill today!. Bought baby a steriliser and some bottles today, only threw my 15 months olds steriliser away 6 months ago! DOH!!
