Welcome fairtradelu and congrats :)

I've also started to get heartburn, I just don't think there's enough space for bump, belly food and drink, I suffer from it loads anyway, so always have gaviscon in my bag - very relieved that you can take it while pg.

ballinderry we're going to find out sex next week - hopefully, if little one is willing. Can't wait :o

fairtradelu · 07/03/2012 14:04

Vinolover I feel your pain. I have to eat a Rich Tea in bed so I don't go really light-headed when I first get up. I then tend to feel sick once up and, ironically, the only way to get rid of the nausea is to eat. I've basically taken to eating something every couple of hours in the morning - breakfast, a crumpet, lunch etc. Weirdly I normally feel fine in the afternoon but then go off the boil again at about 6 pm.

Am now clinging on to the "you feel great at 16 weeks" thing - 12 weeks didn't work for me so hopefully this one will!!!

NeedlesCuties · 07/03/2012 14:21

Hello all! Welcome to any new people, I've added you to the list.

Anyone who wishes to give me more info for the list please do so and I'll add it on.

Am 16+5 today and still feeling sick as a parrot, still taking the Cyclizine pills and Praise God they are working to stop me vomiting. Had a giggle yesterday though as a friend recently quit smoking and is getting terrible nausea, her GP gave her the same meds so we were both at toddler group yesterday taking a pill with our cup of tea Grin

Apart from that, all is well. Got some maternity jeans 2nd hand and they are soooo comfy! Didn't wear maternity trousers at all when pregnant with DS as none fitted me, but this time my bump must be a different shape or position. Anyway, I'm a comfy lady and glad for it.

NeedlesCuties Thanks for adding me to the list. I am 28 (although 29 in a couple of weeks) and live in York. Hope the sickness eases soon.

Angel786 · 07/03/2012 14:47

Rumours really hope DP's mum is ok and it turns out to be something less grave. I know it is impossible but try and not let the stress get to you too much for you and baby. Hoping all gets much better soon!

Poppy that's a good question... I initially said I was due end of Aug then knocked off a week or so saying due date was 20th Aug Blushbut they may need to knock off an extra week or two for c/s. Still think that doesn't quite add up to a whole month as the c/s is booked in for 27th July (not told them that bit yet)! DH did warn me it may not be the best idea to fib but it made me feel better telling them...

Welcome fair

Am off to Lisbon for a 2 day conference - tried to dig out some semi smart clothes that work with bump. V v v nervous as haven't left DD for long at all (other than 9-5 at nursery!) do DH is in for a treat managing the nursery runs!

WelshLadyCDF · 07/03/2012 16:46

mrs m I really like the White cotton top you bought. I have this skirt (link below) from there it is the most comfortable thing I have , when you're wearing it you cant feel the waistband digging in at all and it goes over or under bump and twirls around when you walk ...
www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+black-jersey-maternity-skirt-in-skirts+B4320

Oh I don't know what a birth plan is either Blush

dragonleo · 07/03/2012 16:52

Welcome fairtrade!
Ham your quilt is incredible.
MrsMiggins I bought 3 striped items from JoJo Maman Bebe last weekend- loving them.
Poppy will defs announce what I'm having next week!
I felt the bubbles yesterday for the first time whilst sitting down on the tube. Nothing since though...

eightieshopaholic · 07/03/2012 20:09

Hey guys counting the days till our 20wk scan, so excited going to find out what were having, seem to be drawn to boys clothes in the shops.

Hello new ladies x

Vinolover · 07/03/2012 20:19

fairtrade I agree about eating to keep the nausea at bay, it's a good excuse to keep going Wink. It's the dizziness and shortness of breath I'm struggling with :( it's almost like I'm having a panic attack but come about 10ish I feel almost human again. Two days a week I start work at 8.30 and I dread it which makes it worse.

eighties I was drawn to boys clothes too - could be a sign :)

Is it only me who knows what their having at the moment?

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 07/03/2012 20:20

Me too eighties :) can't wait... yay!!

Look forward to hearing dragonleo

I am very pleased with myself today, :o made it to the gym at last and am hoping to work towards a run next week - just a small one. So nice to have a bit of energy, and do some exercise - was going slightly crazy! ... am absolutely shattered now though...

Wishing you all a fab evening

ballinderrymum · 07/03/2012 20:42

poppy is this your first? i didn't find out with DD but was convinced i was having a boy. i am not sure if i would tell family though if we do find out, keep it as our little secret.

The3Bears · 07/03/2012 20:43

Ham That quilt is lovely, so nice that you can make something unique for your baby wish I was alot more creative, you may have inspired me to try though.

Rumours so sorry to hear about your dp's mum and brother what a horrible thing to have to deal with right now, hope they get better soon x And I know what you mean about good people deserving a break they must feel like the world is against them atm hope things turn around soon x

Hope your cats okay marmite cat lover here aswell we have 2 and I just love them to pieces even when they're naughty!

Mrsmiggins love your purchases from jojo that hat is adorable :)

I think you must be the only one who knows vino so Envy it's driving me mad not knowing I have 20 days left til mine :(

Welcome fairtradelu!

Well im sure baby must be on some sort of growth spurt atm as my bump feels slightly bigger everyday and I have been constantly hungry today and so so tired I thought i'd past the tiredness stage after having a great week last week but feel so run down this week not sure why hope it goes soon though as last week was amazing!

17+4 today and counting down til 20+3 for my scan Grin

Is anyone watching obem tonight? I say I wont then I do and get all emotional watching it Blush pregnancy hormones.

The3Bears · 07/03/2012 20:46

Oh and poppy I wish I had your energy to go to the gym Im going to go swimming this weekend and try to get back into it. Did some last week and felt alot better for it.

WelshLadyCDF · 07/03/2012 21:04

marmite just noticed we're due about same time (my dates changed after 12week scan to 08/08/12) and it's both our first, have you felt the baby move yet? I haven't.
Xxx

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 07/03/2012 21:59

ballinderry yes, it's my first. Only 8 more sleeps until we (hopefully) find out. :o

3Bears I have to watch OBEM on 4OD as my DP won't let me watch it while he's here. I'm also going to go Swimming on Friday, I'm feeling a lot better for being a bit active, but my goodness I am beyond tired now... my bed is calling..!

I've had a few more 'movements' today, similar sort of thing to the past two days so I really think it might be the little one... they're very light though..

Vino hope you start to feel better in the mornings soon, or can get some good advice about how to improve the feelings...

night all..!

NeedlesCuties · 08/03/2012 08:22

Morning!

I have a strong feeling that I'm having a girl this time, but I have an element of doubt. Planning to find out at 20 week scan (which will actually be closer to 22 weeks) and I'll come on here and tell you all Grin

Am I being stupid to feel like I can't have a girl because the last female born into my husband's family is now 60 years old!?! All the children born since then have been males and there's a fair amount of them. I sort of feel like they're all destined to have male children and when I was pregnant first time round I just assumed the child would be a boy and he was :) This time though I feel so different and keep catching myself on saying "she". Advice please!

I saw OBEM last night too, didn't cry which I usually do. DH loves it too, reminds him of his days as a Obs & gynae doctor. He is a useful man to know.

Welshlady I updated your dates :)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 08/03/2012 09:52

I did the baking soda test thingy that's mentioned on one of the other threads, last night.. Blush I thought it was a bit of fun.. anyway it was fizzy, so apparently that means it's a boy... eek! I've also been trying to deduce the sex from the 12wk scan pictures using the nub theory (I had to google this), tricky to see though...

fingers crossed Needles when is your scan date?

It's not stupid to feel like that, there's probably some sort of maths or genetics law that is in favour of males maybe? (I have no clue about this stuff) but that doesn't mean it can't happen. :o

glittershoes · 08/03/2012 10:06

Hello all!

Rumours really hope your DP's mum and brother are ok.

Hope your cat is on the mend marmite.

And welcome fairtradelu!

Those tops are gorgeous mrsm. I picked up some cute ones in New Look the other day which are soooo comfy. Especially love this one - really cute on.

I am counting down to the scan now - three weeks today, it is really dragging! I keep working out what I was doing three weeks ago and then comparing how long it seemed! So desperate to know what I am having. I am definitely thinking girl and my dental hygenist announced girl yesterday and claims she has never been wrong. We'll see. It is strange to think that it already is a boy or a girl and it is just that I don't know if that makes sense!

My bump is huge some days and then small others, no pattern that I can work out. It is definitely bigger than it was a few weeks ago but seems smaller today than it was on Tuesday!

Lovemarmite · 08/03/2012 10:45

Good morning, and wow it's actually sunny out there, lovely!

Our pussycat came home last night and is being naughty and not taking his meds and as he's not allowed out, he's driving us up the wall. When I fed the birds this morning, I let him out for 5 mins and then grabbed him back in, but I think those 5 mins made him happier. Off back to the vets again later as it's daily visits for a while. Phew he got through the op, and now hoping for good lab results.

Hi Welshlady, I've been feeling things for ages, but I'm not sure if it's gas and tbh I can't work out what the feelings are at all. Maybe ligaments moving at times, a few twinges, flutters like a rumble, and then nothing for ages.
How about you?

Totally having the same thing as you glittershoes as my bump was bigger a few days ago and today it seems to have shrunk, but my food intake has gone down because of the indigestion. No more tea and chocolate, boo hoo and it seems to have helped the trapped wind, that and less anxiety maybe?! Oo I am a mess at times. I mentioned my bump seems smaller to DH this morning and I looked a little concerned and he laughed at me and said I was just being silly!

Loving all the talk about maternity clothes. I found this site www.bellamama.co.uk/ and there seems to be a few cute dresses that do for afterwards too.

Hope everyone is doing well and welcome fairtradelu!

MrsMigginslovespies · 08/03/2012 11:44

Hello all,

Hope y'all are well today. Tis cloudy here but had nice walk by the river with the Ddog earlier. Am still super tired and thinking of going back to bed for a bit as "working" from home today. Knackered. Bored of it now.

Love, that site is really nice and good that they have things for after too. But I can't go crazy buying myself too many more dresses etc, tempting though that is. Have been having a poke abou on ebay today to see if there's any fabulous nursery furniture (not cots) for 50p. There's not, but does highlight that I'd like to decide in the not too distant furture.

What have you all got? I think I'd like a cot/cot bed, chest of drawers (doubling up as changing unit?), little wardrobe (alas there's a built in one in the room, but is STUFFED with DH's stuff unfortunately). Dunno, but need to start saving.

My bump also changes, but has suddenly become much more prominent, esp if I wear maternity clothes! All good but can't wait for scan on 29th!

Sorry for long dribbly brain dump post!
x

miaboo · 08/03/2012 12:01

For you that already have other children, Are you worried about going into labour with your children around as it's the school hols?! I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old, and the midwife told me to take into consideration that my second labour was less than 2 hours long! (my first was 26 hours so this was a complete shock!). I'm going to try and have a miltary plan in place with a back up plan to!!

NeedlesCuties · 08/03/2012 14:08

Poppy my scan is on 12 April, will be finding out then, if possible.

mia I'm interested to read that your 1st labour was 26 hours long and your 2nd was only 2! My first labour was 17 hours and I'm curious to know how long I take this time. I'm also a bit worried about getting DS looked after (he'll be 2.6) when the baby comes.... last time I went into labour it was during the middle of the night, so if I go the same way this time I'll have to get my mum to come round to be there for DS. She works odd shifts though, but I'm trying to not worry about that just yet (I'm in denial). Really my mum is the only one we have around to help out, no one else is any use!

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 08/03/2012 14:13

Also for those already with little ones - was your bump delivered on time, early or overdue, and if so by how much?

Also how long was labour?

I ask for several reaons - 1) I've bought tickets to see Blur on the 12th :o (I do have a willing volunteer to take my place)

and my DP might be away a couple of weeks before I'm due, I'm been trying to reassure him first babies are never on time and take ages to arrive, so he'd probably still be able to get back if needed (he'd only been a three or four hour drive away).

danielou · 08/03/2012 14:25

Hi all. Have my 20week scan 20th march can't wait counting down the days hopefully they will confirm its deffinatly a boy :)
needlescuties I am in same position trying not to think who will have both dd I have always gone into labour 3am and 4:30am but no family close by to have girls that early in morning. I'm considering home birth Hmm but still not sure. My 1st labour was 7hours long and my 2nd was only 1hour happened so quickkly I nearly had dd in hospital car park. So I guess if this 1 goes the same way I would prob be better off having home birth.

miaboo · 08/03/2012 14:37

poppy , My first was 10 days early and my 2nd was 2 days overdue. With my first I stayed at home from 7am when the pains first started till 9pm that night, when I got to the hospital I was 6cm but it still took till 9am the following morning until he came, with my second my labour came out of no where at 2.15pm and was so so painful! I got to the hospital at 3pm and was 6cm and by 4.00pm was holding him!
