needles I have something similar. Every so often I get a sharp cramping pain all over my tummy and it has been more prominent over the last few days. A couple of days ago I had awful trapped wind and I could barely move, I was beside myself at one point and had the worst night sleep. The next day when I got up I felt bruised and still feel a bit funny now. It's not much fun when its like this is it :(

I hope everyone else is well and enjoying this gorgeous day! I got sent home from work 1.5 hours early as we were so quiet Grin Result!!!

miaboo · 01/03/2012 16:58

Needles I know! I was really shocked as everyone said that as everythings already been stretched before then it shouldt be as bad and my ds2 is only 15 months old so my second pregnancy wasent that long ago! I was abit worried about the stomach pains but I'm more worried that she couldnt find the heartbeat on Tuesday, I posted a thread on here saying should I be worried and got lots of positive responses but cant help reading posts on here on people who have already heard there babies heartbeat :(

McBaby · 01/03/2012 17:11

Struggling with sinusitus and constipation which is making me very miserable. Any tips?

Just glad the sun was shining today and the flowed are starting to come out, now I just new the pregnancy blooming to start!!

MrsMigginslovespies · 01/03/2012 17:17

Hello all, pinch punch, it's March! And almost Spring hurrah. Sorry you've been feeling bleuch Dunnit but welcome to the thread! As others have said, it does ease off but mine took a bit longer, as I still felt sick quite often at 13 weeks or so. Definitely gone now (am 16+1) but I STILL feel verey tired a lot which is dull. Needles, I also have some pains, but it's more like achy ovaries which I get a lot anyway...At this point, you're stretching a lot, as the baby puts on a big growth spurt, so it might pick up a bit again, to be warned. I think a warm bath (not hot enough to make your skin pink) might be nice.

I'm also using bio-oil and have a small mam mio tummy butter to try which I'm looking forward to. Need to remember to use them though as I quite often forget. Have a good evening all; I'm going to look after an ill DH who seems to still have a cold after nearly three weeks...might be oven pizza for supper at this rate! St Davids

Gnomi · 01/03/2012 17:55

I'm a bio-oil fan too, it's quite expensive though, so I'm really concentrating on my tummy.

My bump is starting to show, but only if you know I'm pregnant - otherwise I just look like I have a real belly! I want a cute bump! A few people who know have commented.

Dont know what to do about the nursey situation - there don't really seem to be many around here, mostly child carers, and I really don't know if I'm going back to work yet. Ideally I'd like to work part time closer to home, but that's not happening yet.

How do you go about visiting a nursery anyway? Do you ring up and request a tour?

Lovemarmite · 01/03/2012 18:12

Hello!
Just went to Brighton and tried and tried to get into tunics that weren't maternity, and I just looked too large for them. My fault for going for jersey probably and so the things I chose clung in the wrong places. Oh well, may have to resort to a few maternity tops soon as my bump seems to be bigger than my normal clothes are allowing for. I thought I'd might have a few more weeks yet!

Needles I'm aching more now and i think it's from stretching compared to the last few months which I'd put down to constipation. I read in the mothercare baby book that the first three months is about nausea and then the second three months is about ligament pain and stretching... I don't dare read the last three weeks part, that'll be a surprise (pleasant one I'm sure!) If worried though, I would call the mw for sure.
I've been told to see my GP by my mw as I have a very painful hip when I lie on it. Physio might be needed but I think the yoga will help as it's probably me being a little unfit from all this lazy-ing around of late.

glittershoes I have a yoga mat as I've been doing yoga on an off for a few years, but you could use a towel and to be honest, unless you're on wooden or hard floors, carpet is usually fine if soft enough for you. I tend to sit on a small cushion to sit on the floor too as you're meant to sit in the cross legged position and I've always found this uncomfortable.

Definitely love the warm baths Mrsmiggins too! I love wallowing in a bath oil and I think it helps me sleep too. I've just treated myself to a lovely rose hair conditioner and so might have another pamper session soon. Oh yes, and on that note, I did a face mask last night and a friend commented that my skin looked very clear (thought it was a little cheeky as I'd not said anything about it, but obviously it's made a difference) and so perhaps the exfoliation may help get rid of the ol' pimples!

Lovemarmite · 01/03/2012 18:13

St Davids oooo I like that one!

geekette · 01/03/2012 19:50

itching: no itching
boobs: yes! finally! i have boobs! woohoo!
babies sex: nahhh, neither of us wants to know.
our sex life: what sex life?
buying baby stuff: was not going to get anything but a colleague has offered us all his kids stuff. we'll start with those.
nurseries: one of my friends works in a nursery. she got us a list of nurseries near our work place & asked us to call them & book visits. she'll also give us questions to ask. will post when i get them.

We only have a shower room... wish I had a bath. i often get tummy aches which i am sure a warm bath would've helped.
Anyone else often come back from work in tears? seems to happen a lot to me... especially if i have eaten a bit too much..

cute bump angel :)

& St Davids because it's cute

Angel786 · 01/03/2012 20:04

Loving all the St Davids hoping March is a good month for you all.

Re tummy pains, I had bad stretching pains with dd but this time not so bad except from v bad gas and constipation on and off (felt like contractio s and I couldn't move!). Hope yup feel better soon, may be worth calling the gp just for peace of mind?

Re the bio oil being expensive, a colleague said she bought so e African bio oil online and although smelly (!?) it did the trick and was less costly....

MrsMigginslovespies · 02/03/2012 07:56

Morning. Would really like sausages for breakfast. How can I make this happen short of going out to the shops in my pjs?! Toast again, I guess Grin.

Re bio-oil: I got a great big bottle of it from Amazon for much less than in Boots. I think I paid £12 for the huge bottle (at least 200 ml). Def worth it. Just need to remember to use it now, as am trying to layer it under my normal moisturiser. DH says I definitely am getting a little bump! Hurrah, but only really obvious when I'm in my undies!

Now, my sister is convinced about leg hair being an indicator as to what you are having!!! SHe said when she had her boy, she had a lot more and it grew faster, but when she had her little girl in Dec, had hardly any and it was very slow growing. make of that what you will!!! For what it's worth, mine has been quite sparse. Off to rummage for yummy breakfast. Happy Friday all.

hamncheese · 02/03/2012 08:19

Hi all long time no speaks

I've gone and got a chest infection Angry. My brother took me out to lunch but had the inside only circulating air on as his car is old and sometimes diesely fumes come in. Kept the fumes out but managed to circulate his cold very effectively to me. And apparently that repressed immune system means I get a horrible chest infection with cough so bad I think I'm going to break in half. 3am drives to the emergency GP - always fun. Anyhow feeling a bit better now but this whole pregnancy has seemed to be one big four month illness so far Sad

On the positive side the wee one seems well and it is prodding me from the inside! Til now I've not felt anything at all. No flutters, no popping, no flopping fish. Then the other night was complaining to my Mum about this very acute achey spot on my right, just along from hip bone. It has happened several more times and is like a stretching pressure but in a space far too small to be ligament based and usually when I'm sitting still. I think it's the baby complaining that my constant hacking, gut-wrenching cough is disturbing it's beauty sleep Grin

Hope you are all doing ok, been a lot out of touch! Will try and put up a bump picture soonishly too... may just look podgey. For anyone with too big maternity jeans the ones I get at H&M were just right. Pre-preg (when I was running... distant memory haha) I was a 10 but nearer a 12 when in the early months. Got size 12 ones and do need to pull them up just a little bit but they are comfy and fitting now with a little give for cheese-related expansion!! They were £30 for a pair so not too bad at all.

Feel like all I do is complain so really going to try and be positive now and hope that the end of this cold will bring the end of feeling bad altogether!

Biscuit BISCUITS!

Vinolover · 02/03/2012 10:00

You poor thing ham. That sounds pretty miserable :( Really hope you get better soon!.. I don't know about anyone else but I have to be very careful when I have a coughing fit Wink. Oh the joys!

I have uploaded some pictures to my profile of weeks 12,14 and 16 bump :) I never took any pictures when I was pregnant with ds and dd so it's quite nice to look back on.

Those jeans sound good ham. My rear seems to be in competition with my waist at the moment so im thinking a size bigger would be better for me too! I hope it slows down soon because at this rate I am going to be absolutely massive! Ah well, it's all for a good cause :)

Hope everyone has a good day today! x

Vinolover · 02/03/2012 10:03

Ooh, Mrsmiggins re the hair growth, mine is hardly growing at all (except my tummy Blush) and im having a boy. I could just be an exception though Wink.
Hope you enjoyed your breakfast.

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 02/03/2012 10:06

Oh no, hamncheese, I'm with you on the four months of illness - I've never been so poorly, I hope my immune systems comes back in August. I'm not used to being ill... luckily mine hasn't gone to chest infection. Hope you get better soon though, look after yourself!

Vino I have bump envy (again), that's fab! I will try and put some pics on my profile if i can work out how too, of my 'bump', it's not really a bump (unless I've eaten) but there's definitely something going on... :o

(17+6 eek!)

Vinolover · 02/03/2012 10:09

Thank you Poppy. Is this your first baby? I didn't show until about 5 months with my first and I then exploded! It will come :)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 02/03/2012 10:18

It is yes, but I'm impatient :)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 02/03/2012 10:25

MrsM I had a sausage baguette for breakfast this morning. I was all set to have porridge until I read your post :o

I hope you found something equally as delish for breakfast...

geekette and anyone else really... re baths - we're househunting again tomorrow, we saw a house last weekend which was really nice but didn't have a bath in the bathroom... would we need a bath with a baby/child? bearing in mind we're hoping to stop in any house we buy for a while...

is it more practical? thoughts welcome :)

hamncheese · 02/03/2012 10:54

Wow vino your bump is so bump like (sounds dumb but yes as mine is just a protruding pot belly hahaha).

For a good laugh take a look here:

Laughing myself into coughing fits here!

Vinolover · 02/03/2012 11:13

I think it looks really pointly lol. I would love a gorgeous round little bump but that's never going to happen! I've had 3 people so far ask me how long I have left!!

I've looked on that site before, it's hilarious!

I would definitely be put off not having a bath. I know not everybody with children have them but i couldn't imagine not having one with youngsters. It's all personal preference though.

MrsLister · 02/03/2012 11:35

Hi everybody! Been annoyingly busy these past few days so not had chance to pop on here. Hope everybody is well :)

glitter my coconut oil arrived from Amazon and I love it! I put it on straight after a shower whilst my skin is still wet - just my stomach, boobs and lower back - and then use Palmers Cocoa Butter all over after I've patted myself dry.

I haven't done the yoga dvd yet as I haven't had time (the full workout is 70 mins!) but might give it a bash on Sunday whilst DH is slaving over a hot roast dinner ;)

Pilates on Monday was good and I'm enjoying walking to work now the weather is getting a bit nicer.

What's everyone up to this weekend then? I'm off out with friends tonight, visiting my 92 year old friend Daphne on Saturday (you can read how I met her HERE - she's ace!) then going to this exhibition at the Hayward Gallery: Jeremy Deller.

Saturday evening will mostly be spent catching up on Masterchef, Raymond Blanc and Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy. Sunday will involve RESTING :)

xx

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 02/03/2012 13:22

I've booked marked your blog MrsL I'm originally from the Angel, and I still find it so funny when people mention it :D I like reading blogs, have always been tempted to start one, but never got around to it - it's one of my plans for the later part of maternity leave...

Love the cakes hamncheese :)

glittershoes · 02/03/2012 13:45

Happy Friday everyone!

Hope you are feeling better Hamncheese!

Loving your blog MrsL and Poppy you should definitely start one! I love doing mine (most of the time...), it is especially nice to see where you were when if that makes sense.

Will definitely order some coconut oil on your recommendation MrsL and the DVD! I am starting an antenatel swim session in a few weeks (want to get the move out of the way first!) and still need to buy a mini stepper as my lovely pink one has broken.

This weekend for me is all about the packing for me, YUCK! Although I am putting LOADS of stuff on ebay now I have finally worked out how to do it! Hoping to get in a cinema trip or nice tea out or something just to break up the mundaneness of bubble wrapping and sorting! Also need to make a list of everyone I need to tell about the move, anyone been through it recently and have a list or advice of who to tell and when?

Ooooh, and I have started my first name thread in Baby Names - feel free to go comment, we need all the help we can get....!
