Think of Slade...."IIIIIIIIIT'S FRIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAAAY"!

AND...(drumroll please)...I finally lept on DH. Literally. We had lunch at the same time today and as soon as he walked in the front door I grabbed him and whisked him upstairs. He had a stupid grin on his face...It was nice. I am NOT the initiator usually so he was pleasantly suprised Grin So much so, he was telling the dog about it...weirdo.

Other than that I am at work, ---fannying about on MN- busying away!

Tonight I am seeing my friend who is due to pop on 18th March with DC2 and we are going to watch Tangled and eat strawberries covered in chocolate, whilst our DHs are at a stag do.

DH working tomorrow morning so I will clean, then off to Canterbury to get him new work shirts, me a trip to Mother Care AND Ann Summers (for hen nigh parephenelia)!

Sunday = nothing. Aaaah.

Oh, sorry to talk about doinking so much...nice to meet you, I'm FrillyKnickers and I like to talk about ---->IT

Hi all, just got a 'low risk' DS Test result letter from the hospital so am delighted!

frilly well done for bringing sexy back!

Happy weekend all!

NeedlesCuties · 02/03/2012 20:30

So glad to hear that Welsh :) I didn't go for a DS test but I like hearing your good news.

Angel786 · 02/03/2012 23:08

Goodnews welsh!

Hope you feel better ham sounds tough going. Get well!

poppy you shld start a blog Grin I started one when on mst leave but it's been sorely neglected since being back at work. mrslister great post!

vino did you find out re the sex just now? How exciting!

Good weekends everyone!

MrsLister · 03/03/2012 09:11

Thanks for your nice comments re my blog ladies :)

Glitter - I definitely recommend it - it's a great diary that you can look back on to reminisce. DH and I spent 6 months in South America from Oct 09 - April 10 and I love reading back over the posts...

Now then - some of you may disapprove but I have decided I can't wait 3 weeks to hear my baby's heartbeat so I just bought one of THESE - have any of you tried a Doppler before?

I know not to get too worried if I can't hear anything as it's early days yet (plus I have a fat stomach!) but am dying to see if I can hear anything...

Also - starting to feel less pregnant but this is normal past 14 weeks, right?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Westcountrylovescheese · 03/03/2012 10:00

MrsLister I am tempted too! I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant. I'm 17+4 and just feel normal. There's not really any movement (except when I try and convince myself) there's no bump (except when I push my belly out but that can happen anyway) and I don't feel sick.

Worry though that not hearing the heartbeat (the midwife had problems with our hider) might feel worse. I'm also hoping to start feeling movements soon or even get a bump!

I have my 20 week scan in 2.5 weeks so looking forward to that. Also visiting nursery on the same day! It doesn't feel real but hoping it will go soon.

Loved your blog MrsLister, may also start stalking you Grin Your friend Daphne sounds lovely! We do tend to ignore older people these days but I've learnt too that they are great fun and definitely not prudish or out of touch. One of my friends is 70+ and I live spending time with her. She's a bad influence though, apparently when you're older you need to take it easy so we often end up in the pub!

hamncheese · 03/03/2012 13:41

Thanks for the well wishing :) feeling better now... antibiotics have rendered the cough from death into this annoying dry tickly cough which makes me sound like a yapping terrier. Cats are very scared.

Bought our pram today. Well, DH's parents did... (apparently it's some tradition that the parents and in-laws buy the cot and pram... as with our wedding there are so many traditions I know f-all about!) but managed to convince them just to buy the pram bit not the car seat/base too. Really glad to have it under our belt now and sorted, know with the house move getting all this stuff done sooner is ideal as may be rushing about towards the end if can't get the flat sold soon. Have 3 viewings in a row today though so fingers crossed for some interest!

I'm tempted to share my blog with you all but also feeling a bit exposed haha! Maybe we could make a blog sharing pact or something. Agree with lister though it is great having a blog to look back on, keeping pictures all in one place online etc. Though a lot of my blog is often rants about one thing or another Blush

Can anyone else corroborate these feelings with me? In lower abdomen it's like a very specific spot the size of a 5p which is a little sore, more uncomfy and like a stretching/pressure feeling. My Mum tells me she reckons it is wee limbs getting stretched inside but it worries me as it is midly achey. Anyone felt this and think it is movements? Guess I'm just worried as have had to take a lot of paracetamol and antibiotics lately and body shaking coughing feels like I'm treating the baby badly. Did have the DS test results as low risk though which is good... though I didn't get told they were being done/ask for them so I found it a bit odd. I'd rather not have any tests like that tbh. Still good news though :)

Hope you are all having a nice relaxing weekend and enjoying the brief interludes of sunshine, if you are getting it (we've had about 15 mins today... at least its some!)

(16+6)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 03/03/2012 20:01

Happy Saturday everyone! :)

So nice to hear all the good news re the tests, phew! 12 days till 20wk scan - just can't wait!! Vino how many weeks were you when you found out what gender? Was it easy to tell? I hope we can see. :o

Glad you're feeling better hamncheese, sounds like maybe it's something stretching? or maybe something's pressing on something else? Maybe you've pulled something coughing? I had to assume the crash position during coughing fits to stop it from pulling my stomach muscles/ligaments... Confused.

(18wks today, still waiting to bloom Flowers:o)

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 03/03/2012 20:02

Doh! Blush
I meant Thanks :o

NeedlesCuties · 03/03/2012 21:31

hamncheese is the pain due to your coughing fits moreso than anything to do with the baby? It could be muscles or something similar, but if you're worried then perhaps you could see the MW or GP. Is that area hard to touch or is it as soft as the rest of your belly?

Poppy I know what you mean about having to double over when coughing as it makes the muscles go mad.... though, to be honest, since I had DS 2 years ago whenever I cough I worry more about peeing myself a bit more than I worry about popping belly muscles :( Must do pelvic floor exercises this pregnancy more than I did last time. Repeat, repeat, repeat!

Vinolover · 04/03/2012 07:14

needles I am with you with the pelvic floor! Blush

poppy I was 16+1 when we found out and it was very clear to see. He certainly isn't a shy boy and was very proud to show his mummy, daddy, brother and sister what he has to offer Wink. I have a lovely picture of it lol.. Really not very long until your scan, how exciting :). Mine isn't until 29th march but I'm only 17+1 at the moment.

ham I would say you have pulled something but if you're worried then call your MW. There is an awful lot of streching going on at the moment.

alisonmcg · 04/03/2012 09:52

Hi all

Sorry to come on here just for a moan Blush but if I don't say this on here I'll end up saying it out loud and falling out with people!!

Is this just happening to me or is anyone else sick of being treated like public property? Suddenly just because I'm pregnant everyone now thinks they have a right to lecture/dictate/judge me on what I'm eating/drinking!! Was at my dad's last night and had the audacity to have ONE glass of diet coke and you'd have thought I'd threatened to have a whole bottle of vodka! Apparently (according to my brother, who's wife is also pregnant and who I've seen drink multiple coffees and also the odd glass of bubbly over christmas!) I really must stop being so unhealthy!! So it doesn't matter that I haven't eaten anything I'm not supposed to, don't drink tea or coffee, haven't touched a drop of alcohol since I found out I was pregnant and stuff my face with fruit all week, allowing myself TWO cans of coke a WEEK is absolutely outrageous!!!

It's bad enough that DH had turned into the food police without everyone else thinking they have a say too!

Does anyone agree or am I being completely unreasonable?

Rant over Blush

alisonmcg · 04/03/2012 09:53

Ps I'm 15+1

Vinolover · 04/03/2012 10:11

I would be furious alison! You have every right to have a can of coke and can have up to 4 cans a day if im correct (it's certainly no less than that anyway). I think you are very good not saying anything to them too because I think I would have gone mental. It drives me insane when people become an authority on all things pregnancy related becuase they or their parner are going through it. Thank goodness my brother hasn't got any children yet because he would be exactly the same.
I hope you feel better after getting it out of your system :)

What does everyone have for their dinner today? I desperately need some inspiration and all I get from DH is "I don't mind darling, do whatever". Argh

WelshLadyCDF · 04/03/2012 10:40

vino posh(ish) bangers n mash here for dinner, not v exciting but DP likes it.

alisoni don't have the food police here but they sound a bit mean.

Westcountrylovescheese · 04/03/2012 10:41

Alison, yes I'd be furious too! I've had two inappropriate belly touching already and I did not look happy to either of them. It's my birthday in three weeks and I have decided to allow myself a glass of wine. I'm worried as I will be on a weekend away and am hoping that there is no bump so that I don't get judged!

Vinolover, I'm off for a roast dinner at Pil's today. Yum yum!

Stinkyminkymoo · 04/03/2012 11:11

Hello Peeps! Had no idea we had a new thread! Had a quick whizz through and good to see am not the only one with sore boobs, teenage spots and is totally knackered!

My 13 week scan went well though the little monkey was so wriggly we got sent away to have a hot chocolate and a walk to hope we could get him in a better position which worked. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, really emotional! My dates have been confirmed as 11th August, which is exciting!

Had mw appt, heard the heartbeat which I thought sounded like a little horse galloping! Just an amazing sound!

I've had the odd flutterings which I like to think are little kicks rather than my insides complaining, in fact had one this morning which was lovely as DH had his hand on my tummy and felt it.

Hope you're all well Grin

Stinkyminkymoo · 04/03/2012 11:34

alison I agree, I'm still riding - shock horror and have had so many non-horsey people pass judgement and tell me how awful I am for doing it.

  1. I've been riding for years and years and had my horse for over 5. I'm not jumping or galloping and am enjoying hacking round the country.
  2. it is the only exercise I enjoy and my body is used to it
  3. my body will let me know when enough is enough
  4. Mary King did Badminton when she was 5 months and wouldn't have been allowed if the dr's had thought she ought not to.

What I'm not looking forward to is when the Bump gets bigger is people just touching it. I'm quite protective of my personal space...

Vinolover · 04/03/2012 12:50

Bump touching is the worst! I had a chef at work put one hand on my lower back and the other hand caressing my bump and if that wasn't awful enough he then put his head down there and started blowing kisses to it (shudder). My face must have spoke volumes because he certainly hasn't done anything like that since.

Oooh, going to someones house for dinner sounds bliss west :) Enjoy.
I've decided I'm going to have paprika chicken for my dinner and DH and DD can have mushroom risotto (veggie hubby). My DS is poorly in bed with mini man flu so he doesn't want anything which actually makes things easier.
Enjoy your bangers Welsh. I watched Gino make a sausage casserole on this morning the other day which I just HAVE to make. Yummy.

My little fella is having a right old time in there today :) He must have really grown over this past week because the movements are so much more noticable now :) It's such a nice sensation.

MrsLister · 04/03/2012 13:06

westcountry thanks for lovely comments about my blog :)

hamncheese I've def got some stretching movements going on and it's started to feel uncomfortable when I bend over - no particular lasting pain though so maybe as vino says you have pulled something?

alison - tell them to piss off!! If anybody dares tell me what I can/can't eat they will receive 'the stare' ;)

I'm definitely feeling movement now - was unmistakeable last night! Is quite amazing really. Can't wait for my doppler to arrive!

We also heard this morning that we're exchanging contracts on our house on Tues with an April 2nd completion date - so excited! Can't bloody wait to get into our new house...

Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday x

PoppyS34wantsgoatscheese · 04/03/2012 13:18

needles Shock re coughing... I googled pelvic floor exercises to read up about them, think I'd better start doing some too...

vino that's great, I hope ours isn't shy either :o

alison I'm with you on this one, it really bugs me that so many people know it all and aren't shy about pointing it out - and mostly they're people who haven't got kids...

I also find it a bit weird that random people seem to think it's ok to ask the most personal questions - was it planned? your boobs don't look bigger yet, will you breastfeed? how much weight have you gained? you'll be the size of a house soon. Blush

Foodwise, my DP is of the view that women have been having children for years, more years than rules and regulations have been around, so I'm more cautious than him. But I have had been comment on me drinking coffee (despite that fact it's decaff!)

Roast lamb for dinner today :o

No baby feelings yet. I do feel weird things down there, but I'm not sure what's ligaments, baby, wind, consitpation - I guess I'll know when I feel it?

(18+1)

geekette · 04/03/2012 16:53

alison I haven't had the food police out yet but I have used the term "and out comes the cotton wool", just to get people off my back.

The "baby" gifts have started arriving... I wish people woudn't... It's just going to end up in a skip or in a yard sale without ever being used :(
Hubby thinks the extended family also get PFB syndrome and that woud be the cause of the unnecessary spend.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 04/03/2012 18:10

I HAVE A BUUUUUMP! I'm in love with it Grin

Aaaaaand...we've ordered he pram and travel system thingy Grin We went for the OYSTER but got a Maxi Cosi car seat Smile Ah, so happy! The pram comes with cosy toes and all the bits and bobs, including a changing bag that's specially designed to clip to the pram by the pushy bit to keep it out of the way. Way cool.

hamncheese · 04/03/2012 19:38

Thanks all. I'm guessing you are all right re: the manic coughing. I've actually got the top rack of a six pack on my upper stomach now from it; NO JOKE! hahaha here's hoping it'll help with labour :) A lot of normal stretchy feeling when out walking today which was reassuring... I'm taking that with the weird feelings and hoping it's just an over-exuberant growth spurt. Still feeling the wee kicky type pressure in the exact same place, choosing to believe it is the baby.

Congrats on your pram purchase frilly we got ours also this weekend, took such a load off and also loving the free bits and bobs that come with!

poppy i was adopting that bent over position in coughing fits also... only way to stop feeling it where the baby is too.

alison let no-one stand between you and cola Grin

(17 weeks today!! 4 months complete!!)

Angel786 · 04/03/2012 19:48

Alison that would annoy me! I'm drinking a can of coke a day, odd glass of wine etc. It's your body, your pregnancy and your baby! I had a woman in the supermarket tell me off for buying baby clothes once?! Saod I should wait til nearer the time... It won't get easier when the baby is here as people will drive you mad with 'advice' (some q forceful!)

ham is that a religious/ family tradition? Haven't heard of that before?

geekette I'm with you! We gave a lot of unwanted stuff to charity, mil started making hideous dresses! And passing off my 35yo sil's clothes as new for dd?! She even went to the trouble to put things in the relevant mother care / debenhams bags but the logos on tbe labels were a dead giveaway as tres out of date... Not to mention the ahem style of said clothes!
