Littleray Have a very Happy Birthday!!! xx

alwaysanauntie · 09/05/2012 12:18

How's everyone doing today? It's all very quiet on here at the moment! I woke up at 4am as the lo had the hiccups, so went back to bed for 3 hours at 8am, twas lovely (apart from the dog trying to sneak in - she's not allowed upstairs!). Hope noone's getting too drowned in the rain :o

Rugbylovingmum · 09/05/2012 12:40

Morning always, I hope you enjoyed your nap. I'm having a relaxing day too as DD is at nursery.

Littleray - hope you had a lovely birthday.

I'm enjoying my lazy day today after a busy weekend with DD. I took her to see Peppa Pig Live on Sunday which she loved - it was so cute how excited she got when she saw all the characters on stage. On Monday we went to a village fair and yesterday I took her to the local farm park which was fab but exhausting. She can move fast now and she was too excited to remember that she had to wait for me rather than dashing off into the barns/haybales/sandpit Grin. She wanted me to play on the climbing frame with her but I can barely squeeze through the tunnels etc, it's certainly not elegant Blush. I'll be so glad to get rid of this bump and get back into better shape to keep up with her! At the same time it's hard to imagine I'll have 2DC this time next week. My c-section is on Tuesday so within 6 days I'll be introducing DD to her baby sister/brother. How exciting Grin

Wommer · 09/05/2012 13:25

Oooooh rugby how exciting that you'll be meeting your tiny in less than a week!

always I'd noticed it was very quiet too...Here and on the fb group. Was wondering if everyone else was in labour! Grin

Have to say is very exhausting this whole maternity leave business (am only on day 2!). Had mw this morning and am now totally knackered so I'm going to have my own naptime for the next hour I think Smile

She did say she thinks I've puffed up tho in the face - and I know I have in my hands and feet/lower legs. So I'm under orders to watch out for headaches/funny vision. Bp is fine at the moment tho so no panicking yet.

Hope all are well - I might do a sundance later as am soooooo fed up with the rain!

Xxx

Littlerayofsunshine · 09/05/2012 13:40

Hi All.

Thank you for the birthday messages. I had a lovely day, DD was very excited in the morning helping me open my cards. Then my Dad popped in. Then a lovely phone call from DP singing happy birthday to me. Then popped to see DP's Nan as we share the same birthday. Then one of my fab friends was waiting at my house when i got home and said "I'm here to do your nails for you!" so my hands and feet are all glam. Then our other friend popped in, our three girls played nicely in the garden (in the MUD! :D) then we all had a chinese & bathed them all. was so cute. mini girls evening lol

Just had my MW appt. confused me a little bit...She said that baby is very well in now. and is 3/5ths engaged (which i have been for about 4 weeks now) but she's written on my notes 3/5th palpable. its meant to be 2/5th palpable if im 3/5th engaged. so it looks silly on my notes now. she said that they aestill BH's even though they're strong. but just a matter of waiting for them to turn into the real thing. She said if i'm fed up then she will do a sweep next week (will be 39+2) then if baby still isnt here, another at 40 weeks.

I just feel confused. as looking on my notes from DD.. My body is doing NOW what it was the week leading up to when I had her. and the days before i had her.

I'm getting striking pains on & off what feels like its going up hrough my bum and vagina!? especially when driving and sitting up right.

discharge was increasing, now its just average, and hardly anything the lasty da or so.

baby's movements are powerful/uncomfy especially in the evening. I just think... I BET YOU I WILL GO OVERDUE again, but my body is just teasing me a lot earlier than DD's.....

Cera My Dad/DP's Mum will be alternating with DD depending how long im in for. as for the early days. i'll be doing it alone... and for the next 20 weeks until DP is home. My Dad is excellent and pops in most afternoons for a cuppa. but he works, so do the rest. I just will have to plod along ........(She says with lots of hope in mind..... )

Wommer · 09/05/2012 13:46

littleray glad you had such a good day yesterday Smile
Could you explain what you mean about the movements being " powerful" before labour?
Feels like I've got a baby shaped cement mixer inside me! - and has for the past couple of days. Can thus be a sign of impending labour? Hadn't heard of this one.

Xx

Littlerayofsunshine · 09/05/2012 14:04

I mentioned it (this is a different MW to my usual one) as my one is on leave (booo :( )

I think all of this could only mean one thing.... is when it does get into Proper contractions - it will not be long until it's out iyswim? I mean at 6:30/45pm I was 5cm with DD, then 9cms around 8:15pm ish then she was born at 8:33pm. So it was quick.

I just wonder why my cervix is ripe but not dilating yet. I was 1-2 then 2-3cms with DD 2 days before i had her.

This LO is SO active too. i asked her today if it was bk 2 bk and she said no, head down, back at the front right of me, bum at the top, then legs on the side. but she said she had to have a good feel where my tummy is so solid

Cewafwb · 09/05/2012 15:12

I am so pleased you are all back - was getting very bored of looking and refreshing only to find nothing and no one! It has gone very quiet suddenly! I am feeling horribly well and even walked to school and back this am which is 5 miles with no issues or pains which is odd. Midwife off sick, she did this to me (same one) with ds3 - three weeks before c section she gets sick and doesn't come back for a month! Slightly annoying being let down at the last minute - and here we are in EXACTLY the same situation! Three weeks before. She is having IVF and it failed last time which is why she was off for so long because she was so upset, and now the same again - same timing. Not ideal, but luckily kind of used to it now. Suppose at some point I will have to go and give blood and swabs. 8 days left till c day. Can't believe my usually manic but baby free days are now going to be filled again! Off to do school runs before getting all three of their hairs cut so that I don't have to go all the way there when I can't drive. Have done their eye tests and dentists too! Yay for speaking again - lol x

Enfyshedd · 09/05/2012 17:44

Afternoon everyone.

I'm already starting to find maternity leave weird - not used to being off work for more than a couple of days with some major travelling being involved (since being with DP, any full weeks off have normally been taken up with travelling around the UK to visit my grandparents or DP's DM), so it seems quite unsettling to just being around town and doing domestic stuff. Trying to get used to the additional exposure to DSS2's "enthusiasm" for life (whirling dervish that he is). I keep prodding my bump and telling it that it will not be as nuts as its 2nd big bro.

Next MW appointment is Friday morning. Hopefully by then there'll be some progress on the head engagement front - so far, Wriggles is preferring not to commit his/herself even though he/she has been head down for over 8 weeks.

Have got to start preparing for DSS2's birthday party this weekend as well. The DSS's will be at their mother's until Sunday, so will be able to decorate house & prepare food without DSS2's assistance (thank god!!). Going to sort the party bags tomorrow to get one job out of the way in advance. Here's to getting through Sunday afternoon with 7 6 y/o's in the house without going into labour from the stress - I think i might be pleading with my DM to come & help!!!

hippieshake · 09/05/2012 20:23

I'm struggling with my maternity leave too. It's been 4 days and I'm bored already. The dogs are enjoying it though, they've been getting 5-6 mile walks.

I keep hoping the baby will come anytime, but I think I'm a long way off yet.

Still having period pains. Last night they were with braxton hicks and they ended up getting to 4 mins apart. My next midwife appointment isn't until Tuesday, but I think I might as well wait until then because if it's going to turn into labour then it will, and if not then the midwife can't do anything anyway.

Littlerayofsunshine · 09/05/2012 21:03

Woah, i've had a nice hot lavender & patchouli oil bath and now my feet have gone fat lol

Is anybody else experiencing their bump "clicking"?

Wommer · 09/05/2012 21:05

Urgh so glad its not just me!
I'm hoping once the babies turn up being at home will become more interesting!
It's a shame as was sooooo looking forward to this bit, but it is a little....well... dull!
Am loving the ability to nap at will tho, and hopefully will soon stop feeling guilty when I do and not like I'm wasting time!
Fingers crossed for the sun to return soon.... The constant drizzle is really not helping!
Xx

Wommer · 09/05/2012 21:06

littleray
I think I did the other day - sort of like when your joints pop but in a place with no joints?

Littlerayofsunshine · 09/05/2012 21:14

Yeah! it's so weird! This LO does it all the time x

Rugbylovingmum · 10/05/2012 13:52

Hi all,

I had my 38 week appt today (am 38+5) and everything was fine for the section on Tuesday. Baby is head down but still high and starting to turn back to back just like C did. Midwife said she felt like a 'good sized' baby which they always said about C too. She took my final set of bloods so now I just have to go in to speak to the anaesthetist on Monday then on Tuesday I'll go in first thing and unless they are very busy my section will either be at 8.30am or 10.30am. I have to stay in for 48 hrs and will be home Thursday afternoon. It all feels a bit surreal and for some reason I am feeling a bit emotional now Sad. A mix of excitement, nerves and tiredness, I'll be glad when the weekend comes and DP is off.

Sorry for me me me post.

Rugbylovingmum · 10/05/2012 13:53

Oops - C (Caitlin) is DD1, not sure if that was clear in my last post

alwaysanauntie · 10/05/2012 18:32

rugby & cewafwb I just can't believe you know exactly when you'll meet your little ones, i'd quite like to have a timeframe rather than all this wondering whether back pain is the start of something or just me overdoing it again :o I don't think anything will happen this weekend though...

littleray the clicking sounds a bit random, but given all the other pg related side effects we've had to put up with I guess it could be worse :) also a bath usually helps my fat ankles to unswell, so not sure what's going on there!

My dm arrived today, so she's busy putting up lining paper in our bedroom & hopefully going to stay a couple of days to help me with painting etc, it's coming together slowly, so maybe lo will arrive the end of next week when I'm more relaxed? The wait continues...!

Wommer · 10/05/2012 18:40

Can't quite believe that we haven't had a single May baby yet! Thought for sure someone would have popped by now!

Looks like you cs girls may well be the first ones Grin. Definitely would be nice to know when it's all going to kick off!

Xx

iowmum88 · 10/05/2012 21:16

littleray your not the only one who is clicking!! It's so weird I dont know what it is but it is a clicking sound from my tummy when baby seems to be moving! If u find out what it is let me know!!
I haven't had my tummy felt since 34 weeks next time will be 38 weeks at my appointment with midwife next week! That can't be right!!
Starting to worry a bit about going in to labour what if DP is away and my mum goes away for a week soon dad works over an hour away and no1 else drives. So I'm going to have to rely on my 18 year old brother and my other brother n his DP who can't leave there dog at the min (bit crazy) to look after DS so I'm a little lost with what to do and a little worried! Guna lay it on thick with midwife on Tuesday and see what she says!! Hope everyone is well.....hurry up babies!!!!Smile

LittleSarah · 11/05/2012 16:06

Hello all

Coming to say hello from antenatal May thread! Katykun invited us to Facebook group but I thought I should maybe say hi and chat over here before I jump into that!

I am 38+6 today, due 19th May (no 3, a boy). Midwife came today and everything all fine. Thinks baby is not that big, but I have never had big babies and ds was fairly average (7lb 5oz) and have usually had small bumps so not worried. Did have a scan at 31 weeks to check placenta position and doctor said this one was pretty much 50th centile. 3/5 palpable and all in position. I am having a home birth (both previous were born at home) and as last labour was two hours the midwives are quite keen to know if I get any pre-labour signs but there wasn't really anything before except a heavy feeling in my pelvis but I think they want me to phone and warn them if I get that feeling again...

Those who feel a bit tired of maternity leave, I know the feeling! I work from home part-time so I am used to being around the house with the kids but not used to having so little to do. My sisters and mum helped me clean loads last week and I completed my doula training course so I really am at a loss until baby comes! Plans are: taking dd to cinema tomorrow, and probably some gardening too, then on Sunday going to a plant sale at the Botanics in Edinburgh (I live in the Scottish borders) which my dad has raved about....

Funny to hear about clicking! I haven't had that but the other day I did have strange grumbling at the side of my pelvis and when I pushed it it sort of did it again! Like tummy rumbling but elsewhere.

Hope you are all having good Fridays!

Russki · 11/05/2012 17:58

I've had the clicking! I particularly notice it when I get up in the middle of night for a loo visit. It actually feels like my hips...

Had dr's appt today - blood pressure still annoyingly high, but weirdly just on my new home monitor, and not at the hospital - and the baby is totally engaged, and he thinks I'm just a week away.. which is about right for the dates. although i'm definitely feeling a little heavy today..

but slightly disappointed that dr seems to think that if i take any painkiller, i'll be confined to bed - even gas and air, as i'll be woozy.. has anyone else heard that? Antenatal classes seemed to suggest that was true only of epidural.

Best of luck rugby and cewaf with your c-sections!

Wommer · 11/05/2012 21:07

ruski you can use gas and air in the water pool and standing in the room.

Even if it does make you woozy I've been told the effects only last for a few seconds so it's not like an injected pain killer which you'd be committed to for hours.

I think you'd probably be on/in bed if you ha pethedine too. But from what I gather you probably would be a bit out of it and not care much!

Xx

PreciousPuddleduck · 12/05/2012 11:39

Hello, we had our baby via section on Wednesday afternoon!! We have a beautiful daughter & I can't believe she is ours! She was measuring large for dates so decided to go for section rather than try induction with a big baby.
All going well so far though only had 2 hours sleep last night. But I think the excitement and adrenaline must kick in as I don't feel too bad. Best of luck to everybody. I have requested to join the FB group.

iowmum88 · 12/05/2012 13:42

Congratulations precious what did she end up weighing? Smile

alwaysanauntie · 12/05/2012 15:22

Well done precious! Do you have a name for her yet? Glad to hear you're feeling ok despite lack of sleep, long may you continue to feel fine on 2 hrs! :o
