Ooooh! Thanks, everyone, for adding more details. I know it's only the basics but we'll hopefully get to know each other well these coming months.

Here's a bit about me: I completed a 9 month stint in rehab last June for alcoholism. I met my glorious partner, Michael, there and we fell in love and now live together. We've been sober for 17 months and lead a blissfully sane, calm and chaos-free life. We are fortunate enough to not be working at the moment due to being in 'recovery' (hence the stress-free existence), however this will change rapidly as DP's job takes off. I'm a committed Christian who turned to God when i realised He has the only living being who was capable of saving me from the wreck that I'd become in those years of alcoholism. I am so grateful for my life - and Michael's - and have been desperate to bring a new one into the world.

Up until i discovered i was pregnant, i went spinning and weight training 5 days-a-week (losing, in 9 months, the 2 stones i had piled on in rehab). Unfortunately i also smoked, and so the day i got my BFP i went to the smoking cessation clinic and here i am with patches and vile mouth spray. I have to say it's driving me insane...i'm finding it very hard staying off my beloved ciggies but...I've done it and will not put my baby at risk no matter how hard this gets.

I praise God every day for this magnificent gift of a baby, and my promise to you ALL is that i will be praying very hard for each and every one of us here, every day and in these coming months.

Oh dear. Sorry for the long post. I hope i haven't come across as 'me, me, me' or 'preachy', I just thought maybe if I revealed a little of myself it may encourage those who would like to do the same.

O.k...here's the revised list. Do keep your details coming and i'll try to make as few mistakes as possible:

missbone · 04/02/2012 21:39

Thanks, Sumsey and bubble...what kind words. 'The List' was actually milk's creation - i just thought we should keep revising it until we're more familiar with each other. I love this thread already; knowing we're all in the same boat, with the same fears, hopes and dreams is somehow reassuring to me.

Blimey, bubble! Rather you than me on Monday! Hope DS has a fun time (and you keep your sanity).

Oh dear. I'm cramping in the left side of my lower abdomen. I'm frightened. Going to speak to Mum Sad

Sumsey · 04/02/2012 21:42

awwww missbone ive had that on and off for a few days and instantly thought the worst.....but!!!! read on many pages (pampers and bounty and dear old mumsnet) that feeling crampy..is just another pregnancy related early sign.....

try not to panic xxx

Sassee · 04/02/2012 21:45

Bit about me then... I'm 31, 32 on the 29th February, a leap year baby!

This will be my first. Genuinely terrified of the whole twin thing, why did I read this thread?! My OH things it would be great to do it in one go, er no, and I have a good maternity package in work, I plan to use it more than once!

Still terrified this won't work for me like last time, tomorrow will be the equivalent day to my mc last time so it feels like a bit of a hurdle at the moment.

Still deciding what to do about the bridesmaid thing, don't want to tell anyone until we get the ok but that's a bit crap for her, how long can I put off trying on a dress!

Angelico · 04/02/2012 21:46

The cramps suck because a) they are sore and b) they are scary.

Anyone else getting achy legs??? I woke up in bed last night because legs were aching and they are quite sore tonight. Random!

Angelico · 04/02/2012 21:49

Sassee cool being a leap year baby! :-) The bridesmaid thing is tricky - def tell your friend as soon as you feel comfortable. I remember the hell of wedding planning... If your friend knows she'll be grand. A good friend of mine was in the same boat and couldn't be my bridesmaid - she probably told me much sooner than she would have otherwise so I knew she was out of the equation.

Bubblebell1 · 04/02/2012 21:49

miss try not to panic. I've had crampy pains too, still getting them. Think it's quite common. Try and relax Smile I know its easier said than done.

missbone · 04/02/2012 22:08

Thanks everyone. So sorry to be a wuss but i did panic then. Sat down with Mum and she prayed for me and bean. Two minutes later i went to the bathroom and thankfully did a huge poo (sorry! hope no-one's having their supper!) Anyway, panic over, and thanks again for your assurances.

Angelico, no achy legs...however i did have the sore, achy right armpit thingy two or three days after my BFP. I've also gone up a cup size already (i kid you not - and i was already a DD!)

Sassee, please don't mention twins: my Mum's a twin and neither she nor her sister had twins. Ditto my sister and cousin (gulp!) Thinking of you tomorrow as you face your hurdle...you will be fine. Let us know how your day went, won't you?

Gosh! This thread beats Saturday night telly hands down!

Sassee · 04/02/2012 23:01

If your Mum could pray for some toilet action for me that would be great! Dreadful wind, I'm delighted we're dog sitting my Dads jack russell for the next week, I have an entirely innocent culprit!

missbone · 05/02/2012 01:27

Sassee, my Mum laughed her head off at your post!!

milk · 05/02/2012 08:43

missbone keeping the chat coming Grin

10 days till I find out the truth :( Thank god I am off on holiday on Thursday to Portugal (for a long weekend)! That should nicely take my mind off things. Except... I have small bloated looking bump, and I sort of want to wear my maternity clothes but then I keep thinking "what if I'm not pregnant and I'm just a freak in maternity clothes?" :(

Littlepurpleprincess · 05/02/2012 09:05

milk I know it's useless telling you not to worry but I do hope you can enjoy your holiday. I have fingers and toes crossed for you.

missbone TMI! Grin

If we're sharing...

I had my first baby, a boy, when I was 17 and still living with my mum. Due to family problems I then lived with my Dad for 8 months, then moved in with my partner (DS's Dad) and his parents for another year, so we've been on the move a lot. While all that was going on I did a NVQ 3 in Childcare and got really involved with SureStart, volunteering and attending Young Parent's Group. I got a job in a Nursery which I hated every second off. However, I met a great friend there who was in the process of registering as Childminder, who invited me to register with her. Working with her got me enough money to rent our first house, and I now childmind from my own little cottage. I am now part of the childminding network and Accredited.

By some miracle, me and Ds's dad stuck together and got married last May. We've been togther for 6 years now! I started a foundation degree in Early Years Education in September. We agreed to start trying for a baby after christmas and caught the first month!

Lifes not perfect. I've been on Anti depressants before because of my past and the stress of the wedding means I'm back on them. Despite being over the moon to be married to my lovely DH, last year was very challenging. However things seem on the up. I'm happier now than I've been in a long time.

And apparently I like to talk about myself Blush

Sassee · 05/02/2012 09:08

Hurdle day has begun with frequent toilet stops and knicker checking! It's going to be a long day!

meales · 05/02/2012 09:13

Hi everyone! Sorry I havnt been in touch!

Well as we are all sharing! I'm 31 live near Newbury, I'm a nurse in Oxford and having my second baby! I am due 7th October.

I feel very nauseous on the evenings strangely and have suffered a bit of acid indigestion. I also have what many have of you have and that's the dreaded constipation and wind! I mean, I'm only at the beginning and it's a bit annoying!

I think I will tell people when I'm 12 weeks but it seems so far away! I have actually told a few work colleagues as I have to give chemo to my patients every day but that's about it!

As for buggies I have the mothercare my 3 from before which I like lots and will use again!

Enjoying everyone's posts!

Marie x

Lissbug · 05/02/2012 09:27

Here's more info on me. Am 41 and got married last summer. Been with my lovely man for over 3 years. Been trying since October so this has happened far quicker than I imagined given my age. We live in London and have his parents nearby. Mine live abroad sadly but we talk almost every day and see them as much as possible. My brother in laws girlfriend is expecting her second in 2 weeks so the mother in law will hopefully have 2 new grandchildren in the same year! We have told our parents. We are very close so they would probably have worked it out anyway and if anything goes wrong we want them to be able to support us. Will be 5 weeks tomorrow and have my first scan in 2 weeks. Can't wait for that confirmation everything is okay!

Bubblebell1 · 05/02/2012 10:07

Ok here is more info on me.

29 2 ds. Hairdresser from Hertfordshire. Ds 1 was 4 when I met dp. We got married and after the events in 2010 we got divorced. Suffered with real bad depression and anxiety. However we got back together in 2011 so dh is now dp Confused we thought it would take forever like before but I've fallen first month off the pill. Maybe down to the 7 stone I've lost since 2010! Who knows?

Am hoping for a less complicated few years. Grin.

Good old jk wouldn't know what hit him if I went on.

Littlepurpleprincess · 05/02/2012 10:43

Ahh thanks Sumsey. I dying to have that first scan too. I can't even make the first appointment with midwife until I'm 6 weeks +. It's so frustrating. I just want someone to confirm that I am actually pregnant and it's not all in my head.

Although the nausea is something of a clue I s'pose.

My cousin is due with her second it a few weeks, I can't wait for the cuddles!
