Just had a BFP and wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the rollercoaster ride over the next few months

He was happy Bubblebell. I text him earlier this afternoon and asked him to come over over for a cuppa. This is a rare event for me and my dad. Apparently he was worried all afternoon! He hadn't guessed at all! I feel really bad now. Oops!

But he did say to let him know when he can tell other people so he can shout it from the rooftops! Grin

I think I was most nervous because last time round I really was only 16 and the pregnancy was unplanned. It brought back some memories.

BabyDustPlease · 03/02/2012 19:20

Hi everyone, Happy Friday! I am 5 weeks tomorrow, eek! Very very tired today, could have quite happily put my head down on my desk and go to sleep, am also feeling very hungry even after eating a big meal!! Being 5 weeks makes me a bit anxious as I'm a bit worried about MS starting....

Has anyone had a sneeky look at buggies, cots, etc?

xxx

milk · 03/02/2012 19:25

BabyDustPlease- I love talking about buggies/prams Grin So please when you want to talk about them let me join in Grin I even started talking to a complete stranger in Mothercare last week about prams Wink

milk · 03/02/2012 19:27

We have the Mothercare Spin from DS :)

I love it except it is impossible to fold up to put in a small car :( (which DH has), but I do not drive so I keep the pram up all the time and take it on the bus/for walks :)

BabyDustPlease · 03/02/2012 19:30

we went into mothercare yesterday milk and had a sneeky look at the buggies. DH is looking at Britax stuff at the moment but its so expensive!! I shall have a look at the Spin!!

milk · 03/02/2012 19:56

If you like the Spin BabyDustPlease, I think the Chicco I-Move is better :) It has an adjustable leg rest and the seat harness looks more secure :)

Got my BFP yesterday. I reckon I'm about 4-5 weeks pregnant.
I'd posted yesterday in conception about testing at lunchtime. I needn't have bothered really as morning sickness started today. Came home from work at lunchtime as I felt so bad, slept all afternoon.
Feel horrible with a pounding headache.
I think I'm worse this time than last time. Last time it started at week 6 & finished @ week 16 sick twice a day every day. I'm hoping as it started earlier this time might finish earlier.

Congrats to everyone, here's hoping well all have healthy babies & not so difficulty pregnancies.

Lissbug · 03/02/2012 21:52

Have spent my whole day feeling tired and knicker checking. Went to see my acupuncturist who I was told by a friend was magic at getting people pregnant - and having got pregnant after 2 visits to her, I'm a believer! Felt much more relaxed after seeing her. Have to wait until 20 feb for my first scan. Will be 7 weeks by then! Apart from tiredness, tender tummy and sore boobs am feeling okay. No sign of morning sickness yet......

missbone · 03/02/2012 22:16

Hello everybody and congratulations to you all! Grin I found out last Saturday that i'm pregnant and my partner and me are over-the-bloody-moon! I'm 40.5 yrs old and we've been TTC for 2 months. I'm nearly 5 wks pregnant and due on 8th. Oct. I'm so excited but terribly anxious at times due to the horrid statistics surrounding my age and the risk of miscarriage. It really is spoiling what should be a very happy time. My booking-in appointment with the midwife is on 9th. March, by which point i will be 9 wks and 4 days. They've told me i won't be scanned until 12 wks. Shouldn't i be scanned earlier due to my age? Should i go to my GP (who i haven't seen yet) and 'demand' an earlier scan or something?

Sorry if i sound bossy or neurotic...i'm really not like that. It's just that the scare stories for 40+ pregnant women really are depressing. Also, i have absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, and my pregnancy could only be detected 13 days past ovulation with a home test. Is all this normal? Thanks for any advice you can offer me, and, once again, the very best of wishes to you all.

Lissbug · 03/02/2012 22:44

You are due on the same date as me! I am going for an early scan privately at 7 weeks as I am over 40. Worth doing if you can I think

Angelico · 03/02/2012 22:48

Congrats to all new BFP's! missbone I can understand your worry - you could always ask GP about early scan or if you have the money you could maybe get a private ultrasound. Probably about £150.

I must be pregnant because I am going to bed now - and usually Fri night is my night! Up till 2, watching films etc etc. Can hardly keep eyes open zzzzzzzzz.

Sleep tight peeps x

Angelico · 03/02/2012 22:49

X post with Lissbug :)

Sassee · 04/02/2012 07:05

Morning ladies! Firstly congratulations!

I'll add myself, found out I was pregnant yesterday, due 6 October. Had a mc in November so trying not to get too excited, perhaps should stop looking at maternity clothes (please god let me be a stylish pregnant lady) and prams! A whole new shopping opportunity awaits!

I'm too overweight for my liking but I've been super good lately so if I can carry on like that hopefully I'll be ok.

Suspect I've scuppered my best friends wedding party though, I'm a bridesmaid on 14 September, oops, not sure I can see that happening!

Good luck on your journeys!

Littlepurpleprincess · 04/02/2012 08:20

Sickness has kicked in. I felt ill all night. Now i feel pregnant. Im off to buy ginger biscuits today to help with that, and decaf tea and coffee.

missbone · 04/02/2012 09:08

How exciting, Lissbug, same date! Do you mind me asking how old you are and if this is your first child? Thanks for yours and Angelico's advice. I can't afford to pay privately so will pop to my GP next week and plead with him for an earlier scan. He can only say 'no'.

Have a lovely day, everyone.

Littlepurpleprincess · 04/02/2012 09:15

Ok I know I shouldn't be looking yet but....

LOOK!!!!

Bubblebell1 · 04/02/2012 09:58

That top is gorgeous.

What about pushchairs? What 1s are the best? X

Littlepurpleprincess · 04/02/2012 10:04

I'm a childminder so I already have quite a selection of pushchairs. Blush

For a newborn I love my travel system. I can't remember what it's called. It's 6 years old now and currently being stored in a friends shed.

I also got one of these Double buggy

And the mothercare basic stroller.

Bubblebell1 · 04/02/2012 10:15

Ive got a travel system and a loola but I really want a bebecar vector. I did want an I candy apple but I'm not keen on air filled tyres. Its a bit premature but I love pushchair shopping. Blush

Angelico · 04/02/2012 11:46

Another restless night which was annoying when I'm actually quite tired - finally getting me! Legs were quite sore last night too and more strange and vivid dreams! Only 5 weeks 1 day so far...

Cheekychops29 · 04/02/2012 12:01

Hi everyone!

All went well when midwife popped round this morning, just really a chat and to fill my form in (maternity notes). She asked lots of q's and so did I, and that was about it. What's nice however is that as I had a relatively long cycle, and late ovulation (I know because I was temp charting) she said I would have a 12 week scan based on my last period date! This means early march for dating scan woohoo not long now!! My estimations is that I will only be about 10 weeks pregnant! I can't wait to see the little tadpole on the screen!

Still no other symptoms, thank goodness. MW said sickness usually starts around week eight, so hopefully I have another two weeks of the sick free feeling!

How you girls doing today? littlepp Sorry to hear that sickness has started, hopefully you'll be feeling better soon x

missbone · 04/02/2012 12:01

Angelico, may i ask how old you are and if this is your first child (i seem to be obsessed with age, i know!)?

missbone · 04/02/2012 12:05

Hello, Cheekychops, may i ask how long your 'relatively long cycle' was and the cycle day you ovulated? Sorry if this is too personal...ignore me if it is.

Cheekychops29 · 04/02/2012 12:38

Hi missbone ask away I'll tell anyone anything lol! I came off the pill in august and since then I've had a 28day, 56day, 34day cycles and this last one was about 46days but I never had my period so thats counting until 14 days after ovulation! I ovulated late in the cycle at about 31 days. I was temp charting this is how I know actual dates x
