erm I have a question. I rang the doctor today and they said I can ring and book and appointment with the midwife at 6 weeks.

It's been 4 weeks since my last cycle but I used a Clear Blue test that said I am 2-3 weeks.

Which one do I go by? Confused

Cheekychops29 · 02/02/2012 17:35

Hi lpp, congratulations first of all!

I'm no expert however have read quite a bit about 'weeks' pregnant! They take the date from the two weeks before you ovulated so in effect you are two weeks pregnant before you even conceive?!? Don't ask me y! So you are probably either 4 or 5 weeks preg by their calculations.

I conceived on the 12th jan so I think I am on the first day of my 6th week now!

Girls does anyone have any advances on this as I am still a bit of a newbie when it comes to dating etc! Little pp I will come back on sat after the midwife has been to see me and let you know what she said x

BabyDustPlease · 02/02/2012 18:06

popcorn mouse i have the cm too!! Knicker checks are regular here too!! xx

Littlepurpleprincess · 02/02/2012 18:07

Thankyou Cheekychops29 that is really reasuring. I was planning on going with the 'last cycle' date so I can get to see the midwife sooner rather than later. Also being 4 weeks is closer to the finishing line Grin

I think I conceived around the 18th Jan.

Still no syptoms though...I really don't 'feel' pregnant. With DS, I felt so different!

Congratulations btw, is this your first baby?

BabyDustPlease · 02/02/2012 18:08

Clear blue tests don't count the couple of weeks before you actually conceive, i think its somewhere on the box so you are probably about 4-5 weeks? Don't quote me on this but thats how I understand it cheekychops29 and littlepurplepricess

Pixiepops · 02/02/2012 18:23

Plenty of knicker checking here too as I'm another one with lots of cm! Boobs are still quite tender & I'm still a bit crampy too. Tired as well [yawn]

That's interesting about the blood tests MalibuStacy I conceived on clomid so apparently the chance of a multiple is 10% Shock

Cheekychops29 · 02/02/2012 19:28

Hiya little Yep this is my first, I can't contain my excitement either! Just keep smiling in work, I'm sure people are wondering why I'm not usually that happy in work hehe!

Going to tell family about eight weeks then work about twelve! Seems such a long time away though!

I am really tired, got cm, off savoury food and into sweet, windy and have a little soreness in the boob area! Only time will tell if I get the dreaded MS!

How is everyone else feeling?

Littlepurpleprincess · 02/02/2012 19:44

Oh how exciting. I'm dying to tell everyone NOW! lol.

I feel fine except for being a bit over tired. I am incredibly hungry though. I can't imagine how many calories I've got through in the last few days. Blush

Spice17 · 02/02/2012 20:58

Hi everyone,

Don't know all of the acronyms, so apologies! Just found out I'm pregnant (on Tues) after trying for only 1 month! Took two tests, they were both bright pink lines straight away -eek!

I had taken one 3 days previously that was negative, so was a little surprised, though I had such a strong feeling I was, wasn't THAT shocked.

I'm apaprently due on 6th Oct but my midwife appt isn't until 13th March. Never have I wanted time to pass so quickly, DYING to tell people and know I can't. Nice that we can do it on here though.

Anyone getting period type pains? I'm having them a lot but apparently it's normal.

MrsPeggyPatch · 02/02/2012 21:02

ooo so much to catch up- been reading on my phone but too inept to post from the phone!

Milk - thinking of you for the next two weeks- fx for the scan in 2 weeks.

Heehee -hope you're not feeling so low anymore. After my very shaky start at the beginning of the week my emotions are a bit more in check. I just keep trying to remember that its the hormones!

LPP -another hungry one here...though I'm always hungry! Grin

Generally the symptons I had - the wind and the being very up and very down are subsiding- of course causing worry, but I'm trying not to think about that! We're telling our parents tomorrow so I'm going to POAS again in the morning just to make sure.

Knicker checking here too- though not much CM (tmi? Blush ) Still getting the odd dizzy spell.

BabiesNeedInstructions · 02/02/2012 21:48

Hi everyone, just checking in. Congratulations to all the new BFPs. mrsv2 I'm also much more relaxed this time than last time. Tbh sometimes I kind of forget I'm pregnant! Having ds is a real distraction, and it's making me a lot less stressed.

Can someone remind me what happens at the first midwife appointment? When I saw the gp the other day he just referred me on to the hospital and I can't remember what happens next. As far as I recall you have a booking appointment where they weigh you and ask you loads of health questions etc before the 12 week scan?

Got lots of visitors coming over at the weekend and I'm going to have to pretend to drink to avoid suspicion. I discovered last time that fake red wine in a coloured wine glass looks authentic, and I'm also loving Becks Blue, which is alcohol free bottled beer and almost tastes like real booze!

meales · 02/02/2012 22:53

Hey all! I'm tired tonight!

The hcg tests are good for really lowing things are going well I think. I remember I had to have them after my bleeding incident in the loo!

I think I know what cm is, and yes I have it too! I also felt very bloated and windy today! Blush

I told a few people at work today, just because of the nature of medicines I give and I just felt so much better! I feel very excited now! I really need to book a MW app soon, I don't know why but I just dint want to jinx anything yet by booking lots of things- does anyone else feel like that??

Lissbug · 02/02/2012 23:46

Just found out I am pregnant. Due on 8 oct. can't quite believe it. Not many symptoms. Just sore breasts and sore tummy!

Bubblebell1 · 03/02/2012 07:41

Morning girls. Hope everyone isn't driving themselves crazy knicker checking.

This time round I'm experiencing completely different symptoms. Either that or I'm more in tune with my body and noticing things more. Constipation, wind, sick (mainly at night) restless but exhausted, sore boobs, and crampy type pains. Hopefully all is well it's just with my 2 ds I never had this.

bee1983 · 03/02/2012 09:23

Hello there,

I found out this week that I'm pregnant for the first time. I'm due on the 8th of October apparently. I had a bit of bleeding earlier in the week so don't want to get too excited just yet but thought it would be good to join a forum anyway.

Nice to meet you all!

lizziebennet · 03/02/2012 10:18

Hi all, I've been lurking here as I'm currently on the 2ww and hoping to join you, but I saw Bubble's post about telling her sister and how she would definitely do it face to face and I wanted to say, I've been through loads of friends and relations telling me they were expecting over the past few years and in my experience, it's better not to hear face to face, as then you do the whole being all pleased for them thing straight off.

It's better to get the chance to do the 'That's so unfair' rant and strop thing first and then be able to be pleased for the person when you see them.

Just my experience, but perhaps you could consider a nice letter, or at least do it on the phone so she doesn't have to control her face.

I'm sure she will be delighted for you, but give her the space to feel sad for herself.

mrsv2 · 03/02/2012 10:54

Morning all, hope eveone is well today. Well im going to tell my parents today as they are coming to visit for the weekend and it will be obvious if im not consuming my usual vast amount of wine......Hmm
Bit nervous if im honest, i know they will be delighted but i think it will cause them to worry as i no longer live 20min away, and with DD being prem and being at risk again this time. I also know mom wanted me to wait a while but i dont have that luxury, im an older mom and the clock is ticking......plus i didnt expect to get BFP on month 1

Bubblebell1 · 03/02/2012 12:44

Thanks lizzie. They are coming round tonight for dinner. I was goin to tell her tonight but ive just done it now and she said congratulations.

I still feel bad tho x

DelphineDonkeygoesDoolally · 03/02/2012 13:05

OMG! I think I'm going to die! I feel so rotten. I can hardly keep my eyes open and constantly feel sick. It's really different to last time and really hard with DS running around and rubgy-tackling while headbutting my boobs.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah! Help I'm only five weeks!!

nasara · 03/02/2012 14:12

Hiya all,

I'm due 6th October - feeling nausea way earlier than with my DD - which is icky but reassuring at the same time, especially as I have noticed a bit of pink cm off and on this last week. Anyone else had pink spotting? Trying not to panic...

Angelico · 03/02/2012 17:45

Glad I'm not the only one doing the 'knicker check' every so often! :) The cramps and twinges make me paranoid. I'm also a bit constipated and (secretly) gassy - a real joy to be around lol! Boobs still sore too and still waking fairly early. Pretty relaxed on the whole. Five weeks today! Midwife next week...

Oh - I also had a half glass of wine last night. I'm assuming that's safe enough...? Confused

Littlepurpleprincess · 03/02/2012 18:00

I just told my Dad! For a moment there I felt 17 again Blush

Littlepurpleprincess · 03/02/2012 18:01

I think half a glass of wine is safe. I hope so anyway. I went to London a couple of weeks ago and may well have been pregnant by that point. I didn't drink loads but I had a beer with my meals a couple of times.

Bubblebell1 · 03/02/2012 18:13

Aww was he happy pp. It's funny isn't it. Grown women and worried what our parents reaction will beGrin

GemmyMummy · 03/02/2012 18:59

Hi everyone!! I had a BFP two days ago and also haven't stopped testing since, lol!! Used the due date calculator and it worked out that I'm due on the 10th of October!! This will be my second baby. phoning my GP on Monday morning to make the relevant appointments. Feel excited and a little anxious so will be great to share the journey with all of you!! :)
