Thanks, FlatYouLent.

P.s...I'm five weeks pregnant today! Grin Wish i was 12 [worried]

missbone · 06/02/2012 18:09

Sumsey, don't panic yet, sweetheart. Listen to this from my pregnancy 'bible' (see previous post): 'As many as one in three women have some sort of bleeding during the first trimester ranging from brown to bright red spotting to large blood clots. In the majority of cases, it settles down and does not mean that there is any serious problem, since most women go on to have healthy babies. Bleeding in early pregnancy is always worth investigating and, even if it is heavy, does not necessarily mean that the pregnancy is over'. Take courage, Sumsey, I'm off to pray for you x

Sassee · 06/02/2012 18:10

Right then so that's 13% for me at the moment. Just phoned the drs and demanded an appointment next week. Wednesday at 7.40 at which point I'll be 6+4, wondering whether to put my case forward for an early scan!

Sumsey - no advice, from experience brown blood pretty much ok, red blood not so good.

Misbone - do you like historical novels? I can't get enough of Philippa Gregory and the like

missbone · 06/02/2012 18:24

Ooooh, yes, Sassee! I've read 'em all by Philippa Gregory...and Elizabeth Chadwick.

YompingJo · 06/02/2012 18:36

Congrats to newbies. Lol at FlatYouLent's glamorous life. Pleased for milk, nausuea is a good sign :-)

Told my boss today and a close friend at work. That made it feel a bit more real. Felt a bit icky in the morning after lots of couching but nothing too bad - might buy ginger biscuits just in case, though...

YompingJo · 06/02/2012 18:37

That should be coughing, not couching. Although lots of couching sounds good!

campbelly · 06/02/2012 19:07

missbone I bought that exact book at the weekend - it is very wonderous. There are so many baby books to choose from, but I think it's great.

I've spent today feeling awful though - bad cold, and asthmatic wheezy phlegmy chest, leading to sinussy headache, and nausea. I'm hoping it's virus nausea, not ms, as I don't want that!

Remeind me why I wanted to be pregnant, and unable to Lemsip? Wink

Sumsey · 06/02/2012 20:14

thanks for support missbone and sassee xxxxxxx

BabyDustPlease · 06/02/2012 20:44

Hope everyones okay today.

Angelicoglad to hear you're ok.

Struggled a bit with work today, felt like putting my head on the desk and falling asleep from about 2pm! Am also finding I need to keep eating as feel really sick if I'm hungry! I'm going to get so fat and not in the pregnant way lol!

SaBou · 06/02/2012 20:57

Hi all - congratulations! My EDD is 10th Oct and my DD1 is 20mo. I live in East London and will have DC2 at St Thomas due to being high risk. DD1 was CS and my scar is killing me. Anyone else had that? At hospital on Wednesday and desperate to tell someone!

Bubblebell1 · 06/02/2012 21:22

Hey all! [waves]
wanted to send sums hugs. Hope everything is ok.

So tired. Long day. Ds2 party has worn me out. Got a coldsore outbreak of spots and feel rougher than a badgers arse Sad

But I'm just hoping this means bean is nice and sticky xxx

muchchocolate · 06/02/2012 21:29

Hi,

been following this thread since I got my BFP last week - can't quite believe it even though its my 3rd and we were kind of trying - just didn't expect it to happen so quickly. I'm still in that stage of it not feeling real.

Bit about me, I'm from Glasgow, not long turned 30, got 2 ds so far, they're 3 and 1 so wee bit worried about how I'll manage....

So hard not to tell people isn't it as its just on your mind all time! Luckily one of my best friends who I just told last week also told me she is pregnant too, so I'll have someone to go through it with in real life too.

Has everyone stopped wearing underwired bras already? I'm really reluctant to switch to my horrible maternity ones as only stopped bf a few months ago and I hate wearing non-underwired ones. Not sure if it only matters nearer the time or what, anyone any ideas?

Anyway, look forward to getting to know you all, I've no real symptoms just now but had quite bad morning sickness with both boys so dreading that starting!

Elpis · 06/02/2012 23:24

Campbelly

Boots sell a knockoff Lemsip you can take during pregnancy. It's just lemon-flavoured paracetamol powder without decongestant, but you can pretend. Branded Value Health in a red and white packet, called Lemon Cold Relief Powders (or similar). It's also much cheaper than Lemsip.

Still late. Still haven't tested. Gone off coffee.

Frescolita · 07/02/2012 06:44

Soooo....I didn't sleep much last night. Off to the doctor today for proper test, as I don't want to trust the 2 pee-sticks I've used so far. After this I'll tell DH. What's the story about no Underwired bras?!!! I've been wearing bras with underwire since I was 18- my boobs are 30 E and no nasty soft bra is going to work. Eeeek.
And I suppose I should introduce myself properly too. I'm 30 years old, from Scotland but living abroad, and married to a very dreamy latin american guy. Stuff right out a romance novel, at least until you meet his mother...I'm so afraid of her finding out. She's likely to book a one way ticket and turn up with a large suitcase. Deep breaths. Doctor first, then everything else will follow indue course.

Littlepurpleprincess · 07/02/2012 07:06

Hi muchchocolatecongratulations!

I will be out shopping for some comfy bras this weekend. I'm only a 30B so all mine are super-push-up scaffolding types so that I actually look I do have boobs! They are not comfy now that I'm so sensitive. Argh...all my clothes are going to look awful!

Littlepurpleprincess · 07/02/2012 07:17

Most of us are around 5 weeks or so aren't we? Our babies our the size of a sesame seed but their little hearts with start beating this week!

campbelly · 07/02/2012 07:34

Ooh, thank you elpis. I kmow wherer I'n going tonight after work...

I can't believe I've only known for two weeks, it feels like a month at least. I'm so excited, I want to play with my new toy!

campbelly · 07/02/2012 07:35

Sassee · 07/02/2012 08:50

It's official... I'm a woman obsessed... With knicker checking! I've dragged out my summer White ones for the purpose! Seine fetch the men in white coats!

Sassee · 07/02/2012 08:50

Predictive text! Seine? Someone!

piggyboo · 07/02/2012 09:14

i guess i can officially join this thread now, i'm only 4 weeks today but ms has already started :( I'm 29 and this bean is number 2, DD is 25 months.

missbone · 07/02/2012 09:33

Congratulations sabou, muchchocolate and piggyboo, and welcome!

Woke up this morning with very tender nipples (ouch!) Also woke up feeling very guilty as i caved in last night and had a cigarette at 11pm Sad Back to the smoking cessation clinic tomorrow to ask for stronger patches. DP did brilliantly yesterday on his first day of quitting: he only had 3 fags.

We are going to the cinema this afternoon to watch War Horse - i need to get off this sofa and get out before i go completely loopy.

Sumsey please let us know how your appointment went this morning. I do hope you got your scan and everything is o.k. Thinking of you...

Frescolita...dreamy Latin American guy....very nice indeed!

Lissbug · 07/02/2012 09:34

Have been to docs this morning as had red brown blood this morning. He said I am probably miscarrying. Pray for me.

missbone · 07/02/2012 09:36

You poor thing, Campbelly (good tip from Elpis, though)...hope you're feeling better soon Smile

missbone · 07/02/2012 09:42

Chin up, Bubble! This, too, will pass....
