Just had a BFP and wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the rollercoaster ride over the next few months

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Littlepurpleprincess · 06/02/2012 08:07

I feel so sick this morning, And I've been feeling sick in the night, but only if I sleep on my right side Confused.

My childminded child is of sick today, which has left me feeling a bit lost but I am going to try and get some coursework done!

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 08:29

I'm feeling horrendous this morning. I seem to have morning sickness out the wrong end :( Everything's going straight through me, was up several times in the night, and then DS decided it would be a fab idea to start the day at 4.30. I'm shattered, nauseous and have a doctor's appointment in half an hour...

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 08:30

Oh and there's nothing better than sitting on the loo while a small child tries to throw things into the bowl. The life of glamour I lead.

LondonAnna35 · 06/02/2012 08:44

Hello ladies! Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies. I am due on the 4th Oct (I think - a bit unclear because I am pregnant again straight after a miscarriage). I've been feeling dizzy and starving all the time (but then nauseous when I eat). Ooh the glamour of pregnancy.

milk · 06/02/2012 09:06

Sassee- I'd love the baby to come out all neatly folded in a serviette :D

Littlepurpleprincess, FlatYouLent, LondonAnna35... hope the sickness passes soon!

Bubblebell1 · 06/02/2012 09:11

Morning girls hope you all feel better soon.

I have woken with a ginormous coldsore. Feel dreadful too. Hot and cold sweats and dizzy. Got a party to plan so no rest for me. Ds2 is 5 today :-)

milk · 06/02/2012 09:21

Bubblebell1 - happy birthday to your son :) What did you get him?

Zoeplankton · 06/02/2012 09:22

We told two of our dear friends last night. We've all been thinking/talking about pregnancy for some time. My friend thought she had Big News when she confessed to taking pre-natal vitamins - golly, didn't she get a surprise when we spilled the beans!

We've made a little list of the people we want to tell because we'll need to cry on their shoulders in case of miscarriage (is that 'MC'?) and they're on it. The inlaws, though, are still in the dark... unsure how to handle that one as DH and I don't have an easy relationship with them and I'm really worried they'll try to visit from Australia when (if) the baby is born. Neither of us want them to (it really is not an easy relationship at all), but how can we tell them that? Result = we just haven't told them. Cowardly, I know, but I can't come up with a good solution...

Hope everyone is feeling well this morning. I have the 'heavy' feeling in my lower abdomen too - I know it's bloating, but it almost feels like the baby! :)

Btw - if you're in London, you can send an email to Transport for London and get a 'baby on board' badge - so people will know to give you a seat on the tube/bus even when you're not showing/the bump is hidden under a coat or dress. Hope that helps!

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 09:48

bubblebell1 happy birthday to your DS!

Bubblebell1 · 06/02/2012 09:53

milk he only wanted a black kitten with a White belly called berliouz.! Wouldn't change his mind and couldn't think of anything else so he got his kitten and we got him a batmobile and a batman. Some games for his ds and some clothes. Didn't go crazy because he has his party this evening and that's costing a small fortune. X
He was overjoyed tho. Kept saying that's mummy what a lovely surprise Grin

Beans1977 · 06/02/2012 09:55

Hi everyone!

Catching up on the posts after the weekend - so great to see more and more people getting BFPs and finding out more about everyone.

I'm working at home today as my nausea is so bad - also a bit crampy, and keep getting pins and needles randomly! anyone else? My diet has also gone out of the window. Trying to eat healthily but

I'm 34 and I live in London with my DH and we've been trying for our first DC for about a year. My DD is 4th October - and my little sister is getting married on 21st September...

We had a sad false start last year when the scan after my 12 week scan (which had gone fine) showed we'd had an MMC at 13 weeks. It was a tough time, but delighted to be PG again and I had been doing ok about keeping calm and letting fate take its course until I got the letter from the hospital on Friday about my scan date. It's March 9th which doesn't sound too far away - but I'm not looking forward to going back to the same room at the same hospital where we got the bad news last time.

DH has suggested we have an earlier scan privately in case that helps put my mind at rest a bit so maybe we can do that. Have had a look and if anyone else in London is thinking about that, Babycentre do scans in Harley Street for under £100.

I hope you all have really good days xx

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 10:07

Beans I've had a strange feeling in my fingers this morning, like they're over-sensitive and can't stand too much contact with highly textured things. It's really weird! Not exactly pins and needles though. Will keep my fingers tightly crossed that everything goes really well for you.

milk · 06/02/2012 10:34

Beans1977, I am having an early scan (7 weeks) on the NHS so it might be worth asking GP.

Frescolita · 06/02/2012 11:47

Hello ladies,

Congratulations to you all!

I just did a home test today and got a BFP. I am in full meltdown, in spite of this being a planned pregnancy. This will be my first. Due date to be confirmed by the doctor; I don't have a very regular cycle. I was sooo sure that I was pre menstrual- my boobs feel like they are going to explode! Somehow it is easier to tell a whole load of strangers on the internet than anybody in the real world yet...

missbone · 06/02/2012 11:52

I'm not going to have an early scan. Too many times on the TTC thread i heard from ladies who had MCs after their 7/8 week scans, where they had been assured of a healthy heartbeat etc. I couldn't bear to be given that kind of assurance only to miscarry a fortnight later Sad

missbone · 06/02/2012 11:55

Londonanna35 and Frescolita...welcome and congratulations! On the previous page you will find 'The List' of all the ladies on here with their due dates and other details. Feel free to copy and paste it adding your own details Smile

Angelico · 06/02/2012 17:08

Thanks all for good wishes. Ate a bucket load of fruit last night, then felt as sick as a dog but woke up this morning rather gassy (ahem Blush) but generally feeling better. Just very bloated today.

Congrats to the new arrivals x

Sassee · 06/02/2012 17:15

Congratulations to the new folk!

Hurdle day over so why am I more terrified than ever, even taken to googling mc statistics!

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 17:41

sassee step away from google, it is not your friend Sad

Sassee · 06/02/2012 17:45

I know I know! Damn the 2 week wait for the Drs! There must be some statistics out there that I like!

missbone · 06/02/2012 17:50

Just lost a hefty post...how annoying! Angry

Angelico i'm so pleased you're feeling better...has the rectal pressure gone completely?

Sassee, i've stopped scrutinising MC stats...so terribly depressing for women like me over 40. These babies are in God's hands Smile

I'm feeling rather Angry today: 3rd day of not smoking. I'm also worried about how i'm going to spend my days leading up to the 2nd trimester: i'm not in employment and i need to occupy myself (i've tried offering myself as a volunteer since leaving rehab but employers tend to shy away from my criminal record Blush)

I am an avid reader and devour books, but am rapidly running out of intelligent, unputdownable novels...any ideas, anyone? (i hate chick-lit)
Which reminds me...i'm reading the ultimate pregnancy 'bible': 'Your Pregnancy Week By Week' by Lesley Regan (get it at Amazon). It really is brilliant.

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 17:50

I've got one - 3 in 4 pregnancies DON'T end in mc. That's a vast majority!

FlatYouLent · 06/02/2012 17:51

missbone sympathies, filling time can be hard. will think.

missbone · 06/02/2012 17:54
