argh i woke up at 4.45am and couldn't get back to sleep last night!

think i have been showing since about 8-9 weeks although that's b/c I only had dd a year ago so all muscles are stretched! It's not obvious (until after I've eaten) it looks like a grapefruit quite low down. Have been concealing under loose fitting dresses and baggy jumpers as don't want work to know til as late as pos!

off for a few days and this thread is SO busy :o some great info on here. Hello to everyone new (and congrats), hope those that are feeling rough are picking up a bit now? nice to read about the scans too, pleased to see how everyone is progressing :)

I've been feeling pretty normal over the past week, just a bit of a weird appetite, but no tight tummy and no obvious signs of showing yet, except for bloating and putting on a bit of weight around my middle due to lack of exercise and werid diet, but jeans still fit.

I'm now edging into that - has something gone wrong territory? Scan on Monday, am really nervous, but will be pleased to get it over and done with and see what's what.

Don't want to tempt fate too much, so I'm just going to lurk here in the background and read all your posts. Have a great weekend everyone. x

blackcatsdancing · 20/01/2012 11:31

Angel786 that's interesting about IBS. I have IBS- though luckily the symptoms are mostly the stomach pains. I saw a dietician in hospital last year and she said they always say to try a low or high fibre diet first before checking for food allergies/intolerances. She said as i was eating a very high fibre diet i should try a low fibre one- God it was grim and so boring, however it worked brilliantly! ( My IBS was also triggered by stress but to be honest since reducing fibre i've not had a proper full on episode). I've eased up and now eat more fruit and veg but i can't eat a lot of standard high fibre foods- which incidentally i love. So i am dreading to see how i get on as the pregnancy progresses. I can eat linseeds though, i remember dietician saying to sprinkle them onto my cereal (cornflakes or rice crispies these days, no more muesli- sob) and that is supposed to help with constipation. anyway am ok at mo but its another thing looming.

McBaby · 20/01/2012 12:56

Feeling awful today 10 +6. The sickness has been gone for a week or or do any the tiredness was starting to lift. T
Now feel ten times worse with a yuckky headache.

Sorry just want to moan as feeling sorry for my self and wondering if anyone else is feeling bad again?

Also will be having baby at Barnet, Herts.

JParkson · 20/01/2012 13:06

Moan away McBaby that's what we're here for Wink

Yup, £10. I still can't believe it after stewing about it for a few days. I think the only way they could get me to part with it is if there are twins in there.

My belly feels like it's exploded over the past two weeks - DD is pretty much 16 months, so some of it is 'memory' from her pg. I'm not too bothered and haven't changed trousers apart from my leggings as I have loads of jeans that were falling off me late last year. Now they're slowly fitting me again. I only have to unbutton them at the end of the day, and even then if I've been pigging out (not uncommon at the moment!)

I went to my slimming group today and I've piled on 4.5lbs Shock Admittedly I didn't go last week, and I've been scoffing cakes and sweets this week, but still, I tried to behave!

Oh well.

On another note I've been flicking through the posts and I don't know how you all feel but I'm struggling to keep up with who is how far along without constantly referring to the list and doing some bad maths. How about if we sign off our posts with (week + days) like this

(11+3)

Then we can compare with ourselves when we get to that stage/thinking back to that stage

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/01/2012 13:59

Hello all,

Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish today McBaby. Really hope it passes soon. Re bloating etc, I've not had that yet thank goodness but suspect it's only a matter of time. Had cheese pizza and salad for lunch plus a homemade brownie which was yummy.

Got my first maternity thing through the post today which is v exciting. A v cute purple dress from JoJoMamanBebe in the sale for £9! And even better, doesn't look like a tent, just a nice drapey front which will nicely hide tummy before and after. Hurrah.

So, tis the weekend. Anyone got any nice plans? I'm rather randomly going round Stirling Castle with DH and Ddog as we've got Historic Scotland cards that we're crap at using, so before they run out, thought we'd better go! Then supper at Mum's house before driving home again.

Another new breakfast for me today btw: a DH special of seedy toast with peanut butter, nutella and banana. Was yummy oddly...! But not for everyday, as rich. But didn't snack all morning. x

Glimpers · 20/01/2012 14:23

Hello All *waves Smile
Had to go up the EPU today after some spotting and cramps on Wednesday and a small dose of paranoia but all is fine and there was a good strong heartbeat Smile yay!!
Got my scan date through this morning as well, 08/02 for me. JParkson I nearly fainted at the 'bring £10 in coins if you want pics' too! I'm sure it was only £2.50 or max £5 when I was pg with DD (6 yrs ago admittedly?!).
Glad to hear it's not just me with the bowel issues, although not glad you're all suffering obviously. Some good tips here though which I will try.
Whereabouts are you JParkson (joins in singing it's a small world... Grin)

Gingerelle · 20/01/2012 14:42

Hi all, just back from first midwife appt which went ok although for various reasons they are putting me anywhere between 9.5 and 11.5 weeks pregnant, so now there's a bit of a rush on to get a scan sorted out. Weird to think I'm either a few weeks or just a few days away from being able to go public, although I suspect the scan will take some time still to happen. are most people waiting for the scan before going public? I'm off to bruge for a few days on Monday for my bday so hoping to have a date sorted by the time I'm back. The waiting game goes on!!! Ah well back to work now- so difficult to
Concentrate on anything else at the moment though! G x

Gingerelle · 20/01/2012 14:43

Ps I was told £5 for scan pics for those asking about this. That's in Brighton.

JParkson · 20/01/2012 14:43

Hi glimpers I'm in North Swindon - you?

blackcatsdancing · 20/01/2012 15:31

Hi gingerelee i'm Brighton too!
yes i'm finding it hard to concentrate at work right now. Routine tasks ok but we have planning at the moment that's not a normal part of job and i've had to bring it home to do - and i never do that.
Keeping quiet until i get the all clear on scan and cvs/amnio (if necessary) . Doubt i'll tell more than close family/friends even then as its still so early. Work may have to know sooner rather than later as i can only see my MW definately on a thursday and that's a work day- and i only work 3 days a week so it is a tough one. However so far i've taken off 3 half days as holidays to accomodate this (pre-booking, booking and next weeks scan) . I'd just rather have continuity of care so hope work will be ok- i know legally they have to allow me the time off but normally i do appointments on a non working day. and cover for me has to be arranged.

anyway back to planning !
p.s yes i bought a sneaky dress too on the sale!

dragonleo · 20/01/2012 15:36

Hi peoples
Can't believe they make you pay for pics in some places- scandalous!
Had my scan yesterday and all is well. Ridiculously happy and 12 weeks today so busy telling the world ;)
My due date has changed by one day (2nd to 3rd of Aug).
Decided to change my name to reflect that going to be having a dragon (chinese year) and leo (star sign) baby..and so will many of you guys! Sounds like they are going to be fiery little ones- although they'll be breathing marmite instead of fire!!
(was rslnd before).

JUJUBUG · 20/01/2012 15:41

Hi Ladies!! I hope you are all well? Im a newbie so this is all new to me but im loving it so much!
Have you all announced your pregnancy to all?
My scan is due on 30th of August and can not wait but still at the back of my mind have a few nervous thoughts which i thinks natural. Would love to hear from anyone who can give mwe buggy advice :)

Lots of Love x Jujubug & jujubean( the baby)x

therumoursaretrue · 20/01/2012 16:15

Got my letter today for my booking appointment and first scan! Excited!

Also very nervous though, and opened the letter this morning as I was listening to the radio and the story was how 3 babies have died in the past 2 days due to an outbreak of infection...at the maternity hospital I will be going to. Feel crap, worried and all round tearful now and can't stop thinking of the poor families involved. I know that by the time I would be giving birth it will all be under control again but such a worrying thing to hear, especially since I already had reservations about going there.

hamncheese · 20/01/2012 16:17

Jujubean is my cat's name! well, he's called jules really. My name is hamncheese cause its what dh would covertly refer to me (ham) and baby (cheese) as in work emails/texts before we told anyone.

Mmmmmm brownies mrsmigginslovespies... any advice though, when I make brownies I usually bring them out the oven seemingly half cooked so the middles are squidgey when cooled. I wasn't making them because of thinking this meant uncooked eggs, am I right? Or could I have been scoffing brownies all this time? They taste just like cake when fully cooked so the extra baking effort isn't worth it otherwise.

(12+1!)

Glimpers · 20/01/2012 18:12

JParkson I'm North too!!! Are you Asda side or the other side???

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/01/2012 19:11

Hamncheese I did cook them all the way through, but they were still softish in the middle. Cooled down a treat and are still a bit fudgy in the middle. Yummy too, must say, though did use up 6 eggs. Nigella definitely doesn't skimp on her ingredients! Am being extra virtuous, as some of them are being given away as pressies for a party.

Had nice chat with Mum tonight about baby furniture and prams Smile. Tis fun.

Lovemarmite · 20/01/2012 20:05

Wow all the talk about brownies - yum! Feeling virtuous as just had healthy stir fry and only a few chocolates today, but brownies - I fancy those!!

Hi to everyone new, great to hear from you!

Dragonleo love the name!

therumoursaretrue Great to hear that you have your scan through. I agree, I am sure they will have sorted it out by August.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a happy evening x

MrsLister · 20/01/2012 20:24

I think I'm craving marmite and pasta after reading all that! Yummy!

Ah Dragonleo that's a great little bit of info. I was also born in the year of the dragon so little one will have something in common with mum!

I'm just on my way home from work on cloud 9 after being promoted! Absolutely chuffed to bits. I'm one of the fortunate few who loves their job and it's so nice to be acknowledged for working hard! :-)

And it looks like our house sale is going through as well - hoping to be in there by April!

Got my scan date confirmed for Friday 10th February. 3 weeks today! I'm so nervous. After the MMC last year I'm terrified of another bad news scan.

Anyway. That's not the attitude. This baby WILL stick around to meet mum and dad. Positive mental attitude! :-)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Xx

MrsLister · 20/01/2012 20:25

Forgot to add - 8+1!

Angel786 · 20/01/2012 21:10

Hello and welcome newbies!

Glad all is well glimpers!

black cats yes, I had all the investigative tests too, colonoscopy, biopsy, even had the barium meal plus a millionish x rays when i didn't realise I was pg with dd! I tried fibogel and peppermint capsules which didn't really help, mine was also largely stress induced I think. Bit oddly during the pg and while bf I didn't get the awful stomach cramps or ahem diahorrea that I iced to suffer q frequently. Hopefully yours will all be sorted too.

dragon which hospital did you go for in the end?

Weekend, hmmm sleep vs outlet shopping... TBC! Have a fab weekend all!

dragonleo · 20/01/2012 21:20

angel i was already referred to the Whit and had my first scan on Thurs. Going to see how things are for now and unless get a bad vibe then will prob stick with it. Always went there as a kid and my dad worked there for 30 years (just retired) so hoping they'll be nice to me!!! UCH has got a better reputation I think though...

Err....what's this about marmite pasta?? Tell me now!!

PictureThis · 20/01/2012 21:30

Hello all. I'm back in the land of the living albeit for the next 48 hours only before my next night shift. I'm very happy today because I had another scan and there was my little bean with a lovely regular heartbeat. So relieved I can't tell you. Not that I've had any bleeding or total loss of symptoms but I'm so worried about something going wrong. I suppose it's because it's taken us nearly 4 years TTC this one and I still can't believe our luck. I'm 8+1 too MrsLister and my 'official' scan is booked for 13 Feb when I'll be 11+4. Due to my age I'll be having the NT scan and bloods.

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/01/2012 21:38
