Hi glitter glad you're feeling better now.
I had this at about 10 weeks and posted about it. I was out all day, didn't eat much, felt weak and faint and then stuffed down an M&S sandwich and hey presto, felt awful, fast heartbeat and sooo tired. Spent all evening on the sofa incapable of doing anything and fell asleep in what felt like an odd stupor.
Also have naturally very low blood pressure and deep veins. When the blood is sent to your stomach to help digestion, it can leave you feeling terrible if you've not eaten much. I now graze all day it feels like, and about every 2 hours I eat something... my snack in the morning is often a soya hot chocolate, some cheese and cheddars, then the snack in the afternoon is more healthy with fruit, natural yoghurt and nuts and then throw in some dried apricots for iron etc.

Getting some fresh air later as it's really sunny here and mild - yippee!

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow alison

MrsMigginslovespies · 15/02/2012 16:08

Hello all,

Hope you are all feeling a bit better today? Sounds like some of you have really been through the wringer so get well soon.

My news: had my scan today! Was all ok-ish except the baby wouldn't/couldn't stay in the right place for the neuchal fold scan so I have to go back tomorrow as well. Was scanned for 40 mins including lots of marching and jumping around the room like a loon! Baby measures 8.5cm long which is right on the cusp of them being able to do the scan. Otherwise, if they can't see again tomorrow, will have to be bloods next week which is ok, but not as good. Hmmm. Hope all ok but Mum is down visiting, so nice she can come too to see. Fingers crossed.

On an aside, did you know that Marks and Spencer's brie is made with pasturised milk? I had some today and it was AMAZING. I could have just taken a massive bite out of the cheese itself, it was so good!

hamncheese · 15/02/2012 17:30

run's wildly out the door in the direction of M&S

MrsMigginslovespies · 15/02/2012 18:22

Grin Grin

hamncheese · 15/02/2012 18:49

oh totally forgot to say congratulations on the good scan miggins! x

Westcountrylovescheese · 15/02/2012 18:51

Yeay Mrs Miggins, how wonderful that your mum is there with you. Hope everything goes well tomorrow!

Vinolover · 15/02/2012 19:00

MrsMiggins I think I may have to purchase some of this cheese... Oooh yum, brie, tiger bread and thick butter!!! I can feel my heartburn firing up again just at the thought.. Sorry your scan wasn't brilliant! I thought the same would happen for me as bubs just wasn't very co-operative! I had to turn on my side about 6 times and do endless loud coughs. I think it was quite by luck he managed to get a measurment.... It's so nice taking your mum to the scans :)

I had a really horrible turn at work today. I honestly thought I was going to pass out but luckily sat down just in time. My ears started ringing, my head was spinning and my legs turned to jelly. It was horrible and then the shakes started. I was ok after about 5 minutes but it really freaked me out :( Im sure it's all to do with my low blood pressure but now im worried incase it happens whilst im doing the shopping or something.

Hope everyone has had a good day :)

Angel786 · 15/02/2012 19:21

What's that you say? Brie I can eat?! runs for the door

vino sounds scary! Make sure you rest.

eightieshopaholic · 15/02/2012 20:05

I had the same at work on Monday someone put the heating up high, I hadn't eaten for 3 hours went all funny clammy hands spinning head like lights flashing dizzy rammed down packet of crisps two glasses of water some grapes and seemed ok in 5 minutes really scary. I have to leave house at 7.15am so breakfast it 6 ish so by 9.30 feels like lunch time lol!!!

I'm hungry all the time, what snacks are you all eating???

Vinolover · 15/02/2012 20:07

It certainly was a bit scary Angel and I was a bit of an emotional wreck after but just had to get on with work, it was stupidly busy today! Am resting now though but the telly tonight is just shocking :(

For the third day now I have got heartburn. Luckily it's not too horrendous but it's there constantly and making me feel sick :( It's like being pregnant with my DD again! All I have done is moan today lol.

Vinolover · 15/02/2012 20:12

eighties im the same. Im hungry all the time! I had with me today, two small childrens oranges and a pack of go ahead biscuit thingys. I ate the biscuits after my little episode and was ok after. I also took a tuna pasta to work but didnt get to eat it because of it being so busy Angry. I really don't think that would have helped matters but it was out of my hands. I really don't know what other snacks to have but should be eating more often because that should help my heartburn.

glittershoes · 15/02/2012 20:32

Just popped in to say that my local Pumpkin Patch has a huge sale on and I managed to get five maternity tops for £25! If there is one near you then pop in and grab some bargains!

Sounds awful Vino - glad you felt better quickly. It is so strange how outwardly we look no different but inside all these things are happening that effect so much!

Angel786 · 15/02/2012 20:46

Oh gosh, just flicked daddy dadycare on - a lady does a three hour commute to work ( and has two children ) puts my moaning about a one hour rpu d grip home, nursery work into perspective!

I HAVE MY SCAN TODAY!!! EEEEEEK!!

Sorry had to get that out of my system! At work where no one knows yet so having to pretend that I'm not a giant ball of nerves until I leave this afternoon!

Hope everyone is doing well today Smile

PoppyS34 · 16/02/2012 10:36

Good luck with your scan alison look forward to reading about how it went.

Can we eat pasturised brie then? Confused, I just can't remember all the rules. There's one in Sainsbury's that's pasturised, too.

I hope everyone's feeling a bit better today, some of these funny turns don't sound very pleasant.

I've not had the best couple of days, but that's because my Grandad died on Valentine's day :(

4 weeks till my 20wk scan, that's keeping me positive (although seems like a lifetime away).

Angel I told my work (just my boss) the other day, mainly because they keep sending me on long train journeys, and I'm just too shattered to keep doing it. I've not told anyone else yet, as can't stand the office gossips. A few of my close friends know, but that's about it. I hope work are understanding for you.

Wishing everyone a very lovely Thursday. :)

Lovemarmite · 16/02/2012 10:54

Sorry to hear about your grandad Poppy, sending you a big hug.

Good luck alison hope it goes well

I'm off to see the obstetrician today to go through my skin and c-sections, tearing etc. My skin doesn't like to heal properly after trauma and so I'm a little scared of tearing etc as not sure how my skin will recover down there. I am a little worried as I hope he is sympathetic as otherwise I might blub! Yikes.

Wow pasteurised brie... sounds decadently yum!

Vinolover · 16/02/2012 11:52

Im so sorry about your grandad poppy :(

Good luck for your scan Alison. How exciting :)

Im feeling shocking again today :( I felt really poorly around asda whilst doing my shopping today but luckily it wasn't as bad as yesterday. I think it's because I have a bit of a cold and feel generally run down and coupled with having low blood pressure it's just all a bit much. I wish it was saturday afternoon when I would have finished work until wednesday! Im also struggling to eat very much which is very unlike me at the moment and it's not helping matters... Right, im going to stop moaning now!

Good luck when you see the obstetrician today marmite. Hope he's sympathetic!!

MrsLister · 16/02/2012 13:29

Very sorry to hear about your Grandad Poppy :(

Great scan news MrsMiggins!!

I just received an email from very close friends announcing their pregnancy - and I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow so hoping I will be able to announce good news tomorrow and we can be pregnancy buddies!

It's funny but I had noticed she wasn't drinking either but didn't want to make a big deal of it and put her on the spot as I was trying so hard to avoid the gaze of friends myself...

I love how these things work out sometimes :)

glittershoes · 16/02/2012 13:36

That's a lovely coincidence MrsLister - fab to have a friend to go through it with!

Good luck for your scan alison - looking forward to hearing how it goes!

So sorry about your Grandad Poppy - sending big hugs.

Good news for us today - we got the house we put in an application for! Very excited although slightly apprehensive as we move in four weeks! Such a lot to sort and pack, and I still struggle to keep my eyes open!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 16/02/2012 13:57

Sorry to hear about your grandad Poppy :(

I've had a rough morning. I slept really badly which doesn't help. Woke up at 5am from killer nightmare, went to the loo and then had to keep myself awake for 45 minutes until my mind was filled with nice thoughts. I am about to go for a rest but i had a mini breakdown at my mum's house just now!

Also, DH is eating ready meals for lunch which are laced with garlic. As all I can eat is toast, the stench of garlic from him is making me want to avoid him. Feel a bit guilty Blush

Sorry to moan. Hopefully I'll feel brighter after a rest :)

halfdoneharris · 16/02/2012 14:07

Sorry to hear your news Poppy and 0FrillyKnickers0 hope the next few weeks go more smoothly.

I don't seem to mind garlic as I am pretty much eating a tub of tatziki a day with fresh crusty bread (which sometimes is baked with melted cheese on the top) Yum! So I think my DH will probably be avoiding my garlic breath too Smile

Quick question for you second/third timers - I just had a shock to discover some crusty white flakes in my bra which I can only guess is milk? Surely at 15+5 it is all too early for that! There wasn't too much, but enough to make me wonder if I should buy pads...? Will this keep going until the birth?

Lovemarmite · 16/02/2012 19:26

Saw the obstetrician this afternoon - what a lovely chap. Knew so much about it all, phew as you'd hope he would.

We looked at the hospital's stats too for births and was happy to see that almost 70% have natural births and the other 30% have to be helped in some way (i.e. induced, c-section etc). Maybe I am naive but thought it was a high stat but then again, years ago women would have had to do it without intervention... thank goodness for help then.

I thought I'd let you know in case there is any first timers (or anyone!) who maybe apprehensive about the birth, as the obstetrician may put your mind at rest. It beats OBEM as I personally find this a horror show (sorry!) but going through it with a person who does it everyday was really reassuring.

MrsMigginslovespies · 16/02/2012 19:44

Evening ladies. Everyone ok? So, hda my second scan today and they managed to see everything clearly so was able to get a reading which is good. Also had bloods done, so get those results back soon. Mum also came and shed a tear which was lovely, but it's been a long day as lots of talking! She also brought some lovely dresses as part of my birthday pressie tomorrow.

They've also dated me a week later, (sorry Needles!) so now my due date is 15th Aug (my dad's birthday) which tallies with my IVF dates as I'm 14+1.

Now then. Weight. I've put on about 7.5lbs in 5 weeks. Yikes. Might need to ease off the cheese! I didn't think I'd put on that much but obviously was wrong!

Also looking forward to telling people now! Mum thinks I'm getting a tiny bump.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

x

Westcountrylovescheese · 16/02/2012 19:55

That sounds amazing MrsMiggins, so pleased for you!

Vinolover · 16/02/2012 20:31

Glad it went well marmite. Did he say anything about the birth you should go for?

Lovely news about your scan MrsMiggins :) I too have put on a lot of weight and my tracker has told me it's excessive. Ah well.
Enjoy letting everyone know.
