MrsLister · 10/02/2012 14:54

So sorry to hear tat Dorita. Thinking of you.

Thanks for your comments needles - I phoned the maternity helpline at my hospital today and the woman on the other end of the phone was quite horrified that I'd got to 11 weeks without seeing anyone!

She's filled out a self referral form for me and faxed it off with URGENT on the top in red pen - let's hope it works!

Ideally I'd like to do it at the same time as my scan next week but these things don't ever tend to work towards making your life easier do they?!

PoppyS34 · 10/02/2012 14:55

Have i done something stupid? :(

I squeezed myself into my jeans this morning, and have been using the hairband trick with a long top. I've been really uncomfortable all day (so much so I've given in and am bidding on maternity jeans on ebay atm),

I was just trying to wrestle my boots on, while bending over on a chair and my jeans really dug into my abdomen, it was so uncomfortable, and now it really aches down there.

Will I have hurt anything? Confused

NeedlesCuties · 10/02/2012 15:21

Poppy I'm assuming your baby is fine as he or she is well padded under the fluid of the womb, your abdomen muscles and fat.

I'm not calling you fat though! Honest I'm not! But you know what I mean, we all have muscles and fat which protects our insides.

Keep an eye on how you feel later, you likely just hurt yourself, but as for lasting damage to the baby it is unlikely and sure he/she is still very small.

Vinolover · 10/02/2012 15:43

Poppy I very much doubt your baby will be hurt in any way from doing this. How far along are you? The reason I ask is because bubs could still be tucked away in the pelvis and would have even more protection. I remember when I was pregnant with DS I was trying to extend an umbrella and as I pushed the button it suddenly shot down and hit me right in the tummy and I was petrified I had done something to hurt him, all was fine :)

voscar · 10/02/2012 15:45

You'll be fine poppy. I did the same thing and have had my scan since and everything was ok. Honest.

Dorita - thats awful. Wish there were words to help but I know there aren't. Sending you hugs. X

I have told work now that I've had my scan and today some of the guys (men) said "we knew you were pregnant". Me "how". Blokes "cos your boobs are huge!". Shock

I should be grateful they didn't say arse I suppose! Grin

hamncheese · 10/02/2012 15:53

Poppy I did the EXACT same thing re-tieing the laces on my boots yesterday and I didn't even have a waistband as such due to all my jeans being too small as of 2 weeks ago. Worried at the time but seems normal now.

Dear people... has anyone got an inspiring story for the rest of us about how they have regained some energy/don't feel weary all the time, having been that way earlier in pregnancy?

I've been asking my Mum about it (as my pregnancy has totally matched her first one to this point exactly) and she said it took her til 16 weeks to regain energy. Just feel awfully down that there is still another 2 weeks til then and I have barely spent any time with DH as he gets home around the time my energy runs out. So many things I can't remember the last time I did with him.... Blush On a positive we are going to newcastle this weekend to see Van Morrison (!!), just hope I'm still awake at 8pm when he comes on haha

Happy weekend lovelies x

(13+5)

PoppyS34 · 10/02/2012 16:03

Thanks ladies Thanks, I'm such an idiot, I just didn't think. I keep forgetting I'm pregnant (excIt still aches a bit :( needles know exactly what you mean, don't worry :o, vino I'm 15wks tomorrow, and ouch! that must've hurt?

Not sure exactly where things are.. what's flab and where's bump, but will be more careful in future.!

hamncheese have a great weekend, can you sneak in a disco nap before heading out? that might help extend your night.

Voscar - :o I told work as well, but only my boss. I'll let the others gossip for a bit longer.

NeedlesCuties · 10/02/2012 16:16

ham When I was pregnant with DS I remember 16 weeks was the worst point of my tiredness and after that I started to bloom and feel that pregnancy glow that people talk about....

This pregnancy has been soooo soooo different to DS's that I don't hold out the same type of hope as I had last time for glowing, radiating or looking lovely. Am still tired, but this pregnancy sickness has been my biggest nemesis.

I know that is of zero help, but a sharing a rant is good too Wink

(13 wks)

Vinolover · 10/02/2012 20:28

I'm feeling exactly the same. I thought it was because it's my third baby but maybe I have just forgotten. Im more tired now than I was very early on!

I know one thing though.... I am bloody hungry again!!!! Surely this can't carry on for the next 26wks!

Angel786 · 10/02/2012 21:04

Hi poppy sure baby is fine as well padded going by how hard monographers squish down on me! Not sure what the hairband trick is? Have you thought of bump bands so you can wear your regular jeans, trousers etc? I live by them!

OP posts:
NeedlesCuties · 10/02/2012 21:16

Angel hairband trick is thus:-

You loop a hairbobble through the hole the button of your jeans/trousers.

Then wrap the other end of the hairbobble over the button.

That's it! Just means your jeans/trousers are a bit more roomy and have more 'give' in them around your bump area. It works as long as the legs and bum of your jeans/trousers are still fitting you, but when you get to the stage when you just feel a bit stuffed into your jeans.

Hope that helps!

PoppyS34 · 10/02/2012 21:43

thanks angel, I forgot they'd been mentioned, I've just googled them. Going to get one of those.. thanks for the reminder.

Legs and bum are fine atm, it's just my tum that's a problem, as during the day it just bloats out so much.

Angel786 · 10/02/2012 23:25

Ah thNks needles creative!

I had pasta last night, bump seemed to triple in size!

OP posts:
WelshLadyCDF · 11/02/2012 10:04

Why don't I feel like I am blooming yet?

14+4

MrsMigginslovespies · 11/02/2012 10:30

Watching Rick Stein making masala mackerel on TV and it's making me feel a bit sicky. Boak. Had my first bacon sandwich today for weeks as wierdly haven't fancied one earlier. Tummy definitely getting bigger...at some point during the night, I took off my PJ bottoms as they felt too tight! Was a shock this morning I tell you Wink!

Looking forward to my first anniversary surprise tomorrow! Have been told to pack a swimsuit and overnight things plus something nice for supper. V exciting but can't believe it's been a whole year since I got married.

Hope everyone is ok today and has a nice weekend planned. Had awful headache last night that sent me to bed for 2 hours. Still residual this morning but getting better so hope it vanishes by later as PIL are coming round later for cake.

Bye for now, Mrs M x

PoppyS34 · 11/02/2012 11:32

Happy Anniversary MrsM, hope you have a lovely surprise whatever you get up too :)

WelshLady I'm waiting to bloom as well :o

Does anyone else's bump/tum expand during the day?

Mine's fairly normal when I wake up, you wouldn't know, but then throughout the day it sort of comes out (a lot of it is bloating, I know), but by the end of the day I can't suck the bottom bit in anymore.

Have a great weekend everyone

(15wks today yay!)

barkwithnobite · 11/02/2012 12:39

So sorry to hear that Dorita x

barkwithnobite · 11/02/2012 12:40

I have my 12wk scan on Monday. I was not this nervous with my first two......don't understand the fear....

tashaw28 · 11/02/2012 14:03

Barkwithnobite I was also much more apprehensive third time, guessed it was just because I feel so lucky with my 2 healthy kids, anyway as soon as I'd had my scan I felt much better! So good luck for Monday and try not to worry!!!

PoppyS34 · 11/02/2012 14:19

Good luck barkwithnobite

PictureThis · 11/02/2012 15:23

Barkwithnobite I've got mine then too and I feel exactly the same as you. I'm feeling very apprehensive about it, no scrap that, I'm bloody terrified they may find something dreadfully wrong. Fingers crossed everything will be fine.

Dorita75 · 11/02/2012 16:24

Thanks for messages everyone, good luck to you all with scans, the blooming that will come Wink and beautiful babies. Hope to be back on a pregnancy scan soon Smile

I am not joking you ladies when I say that I defo felt baby move last night! DH was away out and I was sitting on the sofa with DS at about 7pm and I felt 'that' flutter. Woohoo! Only 13+2 but I suppose that's early enough as it's my second baby and I have a super-svelte body. Ummm ok, this is my 2nd baby but I wouldn't call myself svelte, never mind super-svelte...

But yeah, I felt DC move about 3 times last night and it has made me Grin. I'm still being sick and the Hyperemesis is still a pain, but having movement makes me feel it is all for something good, if that makes sense.
