Have been super bad. Had a McDonald's sausage and egg muffin with a hash brown just now. MAAAAAN, it was good. My excuse was that I'd taken the dog to the vet, and she was miserable plus the car in front turned off to McD's and I though "oooh, i could eat there too". So rare we go and gosh, it was yummy! Ddog thought so too Smile. Cold and wet and grim here today. Am staying in and digesting. DF is coming for a visit, which will be nice and might actually manage a nap later as tiredness still an issue. Was v grumpy with DH today and felt bad later for being stroppy cow.

Hope everyone is ok today and eats yummy things!

Lovemarmite · 09/02/2012 11:46

Oh MrsMiggins you gave in - yeah! :o

I think I might have to give into a hot chocolate, a fudges ginger biscuit and if it goes down okay then a crumpet later.
I read the post on 'What are you eating' yesterday afternoon, and after looking at other diets, I made an effort last night and had a baked potato with home made ratouille, peas and asparagus with just a tiny bit of grated cheese - very virtuous! So today the biscuit jar is out again!

Wow feels tons better, yesterday was an awful day of the sickies, phew that is over with (for now).

PoppyS34 · 09/02/2012 12:42

Ahh, those are my guilty secret - I really like sausage and egg McMuffins :)

Last night for dinner I had five slices of cheese Blush, a few brazil nuts, some veg and half a potato. Not entirely the best thing to eat, but I didn't feel hungry so just snacked on what was about.

Had crumpets for breakfast though!

I am still feeling shattered, too, I thought it was meant to go after first tri. I'm 14+5 today, surely I should be glowing and leaping around like a spring chicken? :o

capecath · 09/02/2012 14:46

Ooo I am just dying to watch OBEM in a little bit... after mumsnet if DS still asleep :)

Had scan yesterday and was so brilliant seeing tiny little baby wriggling around! All seems healthy, thankfully.

Been telling loads of people now. Funny how many comments I've had like, "I was starting to wonder" when I've been thinking I am hardly showing!! Only two wide for 1 pair of trousers so far! So now I am wondering if I've been eating too much, haha Hmm

NeedlesCuties · 09/02/2012 14:56

I watched OBEM and spent about 15 minutes crying my eyes out.

Poor woman and poor little baby!

Both new-mums seemed really lovely and I'd love a little cuddle of the newborns!

sc0ttishlass · 09/02/2012 14:58

for dinner last night, i had a box, yes a box - of maltesers - then started feeling sick with guilt that too much chocolate!

recorded OBEM - mgiht not watch it now after your comments!!

hope everyone having a nice day :)
xx

Vinolover · 09/02/2012 15:40

I don't think I'll be watching OBEM either! Im still trying to convince DH that a homebirth is the way to go - I don't want to put myself off as well! A box of maltesers sounds really good right now! (thank goodness Ive already done my shopping!) I am however working my way through a whole packet of jammie dodgers Blush

My nausea seems to have returned over the last few days :( Thank God Im not actually sick but up until about 11am I feel pretty rotten! I certainly feel for you ladies who are actually physically sick :(

I know lots of you have said you can only manage small meals and sometimes go off dinner altogether but I am actually the complete opposite! I seriously don't seem to have a stop button! I really hope there are a few of us out there!!

hamncheese · 09/02/2012 17:13

I'm eating more and more each day it seems vino. Went to Yo! Sushi with a friend today for lunch it was soooo good but sad to see my fave salmon sashimi passing by unattainably :(

Have a viewing of our flat at 7pm (when I'm normally eating/promptly sleeping) and I feel knackered now and really can't be bothered. Also apparently sometimes when I eat now if I havn't eaten in a while my heart races and I feel as if I'm about to pass out. Joy. Well fed up of feeling rubbish MOAN MOAN.

MrsLister · 09/02/2012 17:52

So I just got back from a frustrating appointment at the doctors.

I called a week or so ago because I hadn't heard from my midwife and thought it was odd - anyway the receptionist said 'oh you need to come in and see the community nurse' so left work early today and headed to docs only to be told I didn't actually need to see her as I'd already had my bloods etc done at the hospital (Dr told me to go and get them done when I was at my first 'I'm preggers' appt)

Anyway - nurse said it was v odd that midwife hadn't been in touch so she called antenatal dept at the hospital only to be told I wasn't even on the sodding system!!

This is despite me already having a scan at 9 weeks and 12 week scan booked in next Friday!

So now I need to call the antenatal dept tomorrow and book myself in to see the midwife.

Apparently my doctor faxed and emailed my maternity referral over on January 3rd!

Doesn't really bode well does it?!

Has anybody else gone this long without seeing a midwife?

Sorry for long post - feeling a bit ranty!

NeedlesCuties · 09/02/2012 18:33

MrsLister that really sounds shoddy. Do you know any friends or family who have experience with that clinic/hospital?

Reminds me a bit of something that happened with me after DS was born...

DS was born a week early, on a Saturday and I got home on the Monday. The Community Midwife was doing the usual thing of visiting everyday which lasts for 10 days. After 10 days the HV comes to weigh baby and chat etc etc.

Anyway, in my area the community midwives share the same office building as the HVs, so I'd assumed there would have been a bit of file-sharing or communication.

On the Tuesday I was at home trying to get the hang of breastfeeding, changing, aching stitches and all the things that come with a newborn. My house phone went. It was a HV saying that often they do 'pre-natal' visits with 1st-time mums in the area to talk to them prior to their baby being born and was I interested in having her come out to visit.

I said that oh yes I would be very interested in that... except for that fact my baby had already been born and was currently on my chest feeding!!!!

She was flustered, said she hadn't spoken to the community midwife yet, but that she'd see me in a week and a half.

Random!!! Of course my experience didn't have any bad consequences, just wanted to share another >bang-head-on-desk< conversation to make MrsLister feel better!

Vinolover · 09/02/2012 19:38

How awful! I really hope they pull their fingers out now!
My MW is driving me mad but I am at least seeing her.

I'm so happy right now! Since 10 weeks I have been trying to hear LO's heartbeat with my doppler and tonight (at 13+5) I finally managed to hear it!! It wasn't going to let me have too much of a listen though because it was far too busy kicking around :) I don't mind though.

Hope everyone else is having a fun evening.

WelshLadyCDF · 09/02/2012 20:11

vinolover can you feel it kicking around?

Vinolover · 09/02/2012 20:17

I sometimes can :) It's not everyday but it is unmistakable. I couldn't feel anything when I had the doppler probe thingy on me but I could hear it and then the heartbeat disappeared and it was difficult to find it again. My hubby and children heard it too which made it all the more special :)

eightieshopaholic · 09/02/2012 20:34

Vinolover, I have a doppler not tried it for two weeks will be 14 this week so will give it another go can't wait to hear something. What do the kicks feel like, I have had a funny feeling but not sure baby.

Dorita75 · 09/02/2012 21:09

Hi everyone,

I've not posted for a while, had early scan last Thurs at 9+4, was only showing 6 weeks (5mm) and no heartbeat. Went back today and it's not good news.

Only grown half a millimetre but no heartbeat and signs consistent with a silent miscarriage which is expected to happen over the next week. I can go to doc/hosp but I think I'm going to wait to see if things happen naturally, will see how it goes. Good thing is my uterus and ovaries are 'structurally sound!' so good for future and it's good to know we can get pregnant.

It's a bit mad, you read about this and hope it won't happen to you but know realistically it's got to happen to some, however I feel surprisingly okay. The waiting since last week was worse emotionally, and I kind of expected it (hope I don't break down tomorrow!!) I really feel like it just wasn't meant to be and I feel fine about that.

We have lots of lovely friends including my boss who I'm glad I told I was pregnant and are being brilliant now this has happened. I hope you all have wonderful, happy pregnancies and bouncing babies and I know I'll be joining you, just a bit later now Smile
