voscar · 07/02/2012 20:47

I've missed so many posts and am not up to date at all! There are lots I want to reply to but I just wanted to pop on to say I had my 12 week scan today and it was amazing!

I still can't quite reconcile the little baby on the screen to what's going on in my body yet! He/she was so cute and kept jumping about with what looked like hiccups!

Good luck to everyone that still has a scan to come - I was incredibly nervous and worried before hand but it really does all happen very quickly and easily.

MrsLister · 07/02/2012 20:59

Still loving all the good news re scans - keep em coming ladies!!

Angel786 · 07/02/2012 21:38

Loved hearing about all the hunger and food cravings- I am definitely not alone then.
I had a cheese and marmite panini from Starbucks today (thought you would all appreciate that)!
tubtoes - very excited to have a due date twin!!
Who's showing??

The3Bears · 08/02/2012 07:14

Lots of scans yesterday Grin so happy there all good!

Is anyone not finding out the gender of baby?

Vinolover · 08/02/2012 08:16

eighties I've put on 8lb as well! I really look pregnant too but I think that is because this is our third child. I cannot stop eating sweets but I am trying to wean myself off slowly.

I'm finding the gender out on 26th Feb at a private gender scan. I'm really excited about it because I have been absolutely convinced this baby is a girl but my 12 week scan seems to point towards baby being a boy. Not long to find out now! :)

Off to work I go now :(

PictureThis · 08/02/2012 08:46

Craving cheese and fruit here, although the heartburn/indigestion afterwards isn't quite so pleasurable! I'm still feeling sick most days and it tends to be in the evenings and night time. In fact on a couple of occassions I've actually woken up to be sick so obviously cannot wait for the nausea stage to pass. I'm just hoping it doesn't carry on throughout the whole pregnancy. Anyone else experiencing nasal stuffiness? It's another thing I've got to add to the conspiracy to deprive me of sleepWink. Aside from all my grumbling I'm absolutely fine. Heard the heartbeat yesterday which was just wonderful and have got my NT scan on Monday, then we're off on a weeks holiday to the sun. Looking forward to it.

Lovemarmite · 08/02/2012 09:19

Yeap - stuffy nose, definitely! I've always woken up with a stuffy nose if I lie on my left side but now it's worse. But oooouccccch, my right hip is really really painful and has been for a while from sleeping on it and after doing some reading, it seems that it's normal in pregnancy but normally in the third trimester - ah!
Falling asleep at 8pm now and so trying to get to bed earlier as my sleeping is still really turbulent. Just wishing for a full night sleep.

Oh wow, a week holiday, how exciting! I'm now dreaming of being in a warm climate...

Yeap, have been experiencing fluttering too - feels a bit like I have a bad tummy but I haven't. Odd as I lie in bed and think I can feel light feelings but as its DC1, apparently it's way to early.

Sorry Needles, my dates changed yesterday from the NHS scan to due on 11th August.
13+4

glittershoes · 08/02/2012 09:35

Still tired here as well. Today I feel like a zombie! Everyone keeps saying that I will hit the 'full of beans/blooming' stage soon - I better!

We had planned to go out for a lovely romantic dinner tonight to celebrate the successful scan, our first meal out in weeks but I am so knackerred that DH suggested just staying in. Is it wrong that I am insisting we go out and enjoy ourselves even though I feel like crying with tiredness at only 9.30 in the morning?!

Oooh, lucky you with the holiday PictureThis! We are thinking of trying to book a last 'just the two of us' holiday for April/May time. Not sure whether a total relaxing beach holiday is the way forward or a city break where we can explore undisturbed and eat out to our hearts content for possibly the last time in a lot of years.

Anyone got any suggestions or are heading somewhere themselves?

Angel786 · 08/02/2012 10:06

Took a mild turn for the worse last night. 3.5 hours of v severe cramps, think it was gas etc couldn't even move from my side to my back without some degree of agony. Woke this am to feel v sick / unsettled tummy - not what I wanted for my day off!

Oh well, we're all healthy that's what counts! Can't wait for dd to have a nap so I can too Blush

alisonmcg · 08/02/2012 10:08

Hi The3Bears we're not going to find out the gender, it's our first child and want it all to be a surprise! I think if it wasn't our first we would maybe find out to see if any stuff we already had would be suitable or if we would need new clothes etc!

We're going to Nice in the South of France in April for our last holiday! My dad lives there so it's perfect as just have the cost of flights and stay with him for free otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford a holiday seeing as we're on a major saving mission between now and August!

Angel786 · 08/02/2012 10:11

Ohhh baby moons. Might try and book a few days away over Easter. With dd1 we did a weekend break to the Cotswolds (a deal on travel zoo) which was lovely and also a few days in Oman (nice to get some sun, although was paranoid about tanning the bump so kept in the shade / covered bump). There's a spa hotel which was expensive but worth it for some peaceful quality time!

This time we'll prob do sth closer and fam friendly like morocco, or Malta?

OP posts:
dragonleo · 08/02/2012 10:23

Definitely going to find out the gender- I am desperate to know! Few more weeks to go....
Very keen on a baby moon! We are thinking of going to Provence in South of France. Going to get the Eurostar to Paris (because I have a wedding there in June) and then are going to get a TGV train down to Aix en Provence (obviously too far along to fly by then). Looking forward to not being freezing all the time!

PoppyS34 · 08/02/2012 10:31

Stuffy nose here too, have developed most bleeds as well.

We've just come back from a week in the sun, I've recommend it. It was a last big holiday before bump arrives, or gets too big, laid on a beach in the barbados sun (well I was under the sun shade!) for a week. just what was needed.

Angel, hope you feel better soon.
Glitter, enjoy your meal, hope you're not too tired.

Angel786 · 08/02/2012 11:07

South of France and Barbados sound amazing!

Thanks poppy

lovemarmite know what you mean, whether I sleep early / late I always wake up q a few times in the night.

Fab news on all the scans :)

I've put on a couple of lbs, but I've been quite conscious of my weight gain this pg, as I piled on the stones with DS, lost a fair bit with DD, and have actively continued my weight loss since. I'm keeping up my slimming world as it's safe to do while pg, and as I reached my target weight before I declared I was pg, I'm trying to stay as close to it as possible to boost my (hopeful!) further weight loss after this one! Does that make sense?! My hands are cold and I keep mis-typing!

Oh the cravings! Over christmas I had a huge craving for a german favourite of mine, fleischsalat (basically ham salad, chunks of pressed ham with lots of gloopy mayo and strips of gherkins) on lovely dark wholemeal bread. DH scraped together some change (we were 2 days from payday, and skint) and popped to Lidl to get said bread and salad, and I proceeded to eat several slices absolutely dripping with the salad. Then later that day I decided I'd had enough (I'd eaten about 2/3 of the pot) and I didn't want any more. Neither DH nor DS like it, so I ended up giving it to my mum!

Now, it's carbs carbs CARBS! I don't give in to the cheese because once I start I can't stop. I'm thinking about investing in some yoghurts again as I need to boost my calcium intake. I hate drinking milk unless it's hot and chocolatey!

(14+3 (I think!)

TMI I pee'd myself yesterday! Blush

I was needing to go when I was walking round town with my friend but we were on our way back to the car when I really needed to go. I figured I could wait till we got home (which I did) and put DD to bed as she was sparko. Then, instead of going straight to the loo, I stupidly popped on the laptop - was I sensible and sat down?! No! I squatted next to the table... cue dribbly sensation! I legged it to the loo, and found rather damp knicks and small wet patch on my jeans Blush Blush Blush

The stupid thing is, when I did go both times there wasn't much there! I think Pickle was using my bladder as a cushion!

MrsMigginslovespies · 08/02/2012 11:49

Hello all,

Babymoon sounds lovely. We've also got a couple of things planned, including loevly wedding in Dorset that we're tacking a few days onto either side of in July (when I'll be huge obviously, so not looking too elegant at 1920s themed wedding!!). I wish I'd remembered to weigh my self at the start of this, because I've no idea how much weight I've put on. Not too much I don't think, but can't ever tell. Making homemade soup for lunch then jacket potato with cheese for supper tonight. Still tired and ovaries achy today too.

We're also desperate to find out the sex, but may keep the news to a very few select people to start with.

Have a nice day everyone, x

JParkson · 08/02/2012 11:53

Ha! Angel, I've just realised we're DD twins :o

NeedlesCuties · 08/02/2012 12:04

Wow, lots of posts this AM!

marmite I have updated my list with your new date.

Myself, DH and DS are going to Portugal for a week in the sun in April. Really looking forward to it as currently Belfast is grey, cold and a bit foggy :(

With DS we didn't find out the sex, but I guessed it was a boy. This time I'd like to find out as if it's a boy I'll be laughing as I have an attic stuffed full of DS's babygrows etc.

Also, we're thinking that if DC2 is a boy he can share a bedroom with DS. If it's a girl we can turn our study into a 3rd bedroom, which we don't mind doing but will involve a lot of re-jigging what we have in that room.

One thing I do know for certain if I find out the sex there is NO WAY I'd be able to keep it a secret from people till August. I just would be too excited to tell people!!

Have already picked a boys name and a girls name and I picked those when I was about 5 weeks pregnant! Blush

Angel786 · 08/02/2012 12:16

Yay jparkson

am 50/50 Bout finding the sex out. With dd I was dying to know as alwaaaays wanted a dd, this time would be nice to have a boy (for variety) but if a girl then I have all of dd's nice dresses, shoes etc. Some unworn! As long as it's healthy I'd be happy. Dh didn't want to know last time but does this time. If we do find out we won't tell anyone (like last time). Did try that nub test using 12 week scan pics and thought it may be a girl ( altho initially thought boy as the pg was so different to dd's).

needles what names have you picked?

OP posts:
Lovemarmite · 08/02/2012 12:22

Thanks Needles, hope it won't change again to give you more work!

Crumpets are yum - just had one, and well, that was almost as good as cheese! hmm not quite?!
Oh how much weight I am putting on?!
Sometime ago I lost a lot of weight by ayurveda. Lost about 2.5 stone and was so healthy too, saw an ayurvedic doctor that has some really amazing herbal supplements that make you feel great. Fully recommend but expensive over time. This time last year we were at an ayurvedic spa in Sri Lanka - oooo that won't happen again for ages now. Oh well, the August stork coming will make life different. Love the idea about a holiday and I'm favouring Italy - carbs, carbs, carbs!!!

Crickey, just have to add, I feel soooo sick today. I called up a cheese company that do goats cheese to make double sure they're pasteurised as I had some yesterday and phew they are. I am guessing it's just normal pregnancy stuff, but my tummy feels sore and quite off and so I am a little paranoid about it. Keep rubbing my little bump saying sorry as I am not sure what it is!

Lovemarmite · 08/02/2012 12:24

Oh yes what names?

I've thought of a few girls names but boys names are more tricky... love the name Stephanie - very traditional I guess though!
