Only 2.5 hours til my scan argh so nervous!

Yipeeee scan today and all is well! And I finally know how far along I am- 11+4. caved in and told everyone today, so nice not to keep it secret any more.
needles could I pls change due date to 17/8?

Good news for your scan ginger, it's a good feeling telling everyone, isn't it? I'm still finding friends who don't use FB and/or I haven't seen since Chrimbo and it's funny seeing their faces... Some are some are and most if not all are :o by the end of the conversation lol

I was in the headache/paracetamol/bed-by-8.30 club last night. Only problem was I woke up at 1.30 and stared at the ceiling for the best part of 3.5 hours!

Thinking about it now, I did feel (and still do) quite thirsty. Think I'll have to start keeping a glass of squash next to the bed...

Just had my scan this morning and all is well. I am and baby was very active during the scan.

DP is too and think it has just hit us both properly!

Ha ham I was in bed by 9 last night and didn't get up till 9 today! Was awake a bit during the night though due to bloating (very uncomfortable for a while) and needing the loo. But feel better today and no headache. Think afternoon naps/early nights are the only thing that sees me sane at the mo.

I can't wait to tell people! Just want my scan now so I can go properly public.

Crickey, my nipples have just started to become sore. From no feeling to ouch all in 24 hours!
OK that was sooo TMI!

Agree miggins... early nights are helpful unavoidable apart from last night I've not been up past 8.30 in like a month but I did only get up 2 times last night too instead of like 5; SCORE!

Anyone else averaging 11 hours sleep a night and still wanting more? blehhh I want my life back already!

I bought the glasgow scan voucher... will let you know how the company is etc when I have it. It's to be around 20-23 weeks so not a while yet.

pfft 11?! I'd like to average 8! I'm sooooo tired but when I go to bed early I pay for it.

I dare say I'll start cat-napping in the afternoon again as I did when pg with DD, but it's not really happening at the moment. I managed a 20 minute doze when DD was having her nap then some fucker twit in a roarty car bombed it round the estate and woke her up.

Hi everyone, so good to hear that your scans are going well! Had our booking appointment today, all the standard questions etc but feels good because feel like we're really getting into it all now if that makes sense! 15 days till out scan, it really can't come soon enough!! Have been trying to resist looking at prams etc until we know everything is okay but keep caving and looking online.

We're going to be quite tight for space in our one bed flat when the wee one comes along so do you think it is a must have to have a separate changing table? I saw one cot that has a changing table bit that can be placed across the top but not sure how safe that would be, does anyone else have one like this?

alison you'd be ok without a changing table for at least 4-5 months I'd say. We just used a changing mat on the floor / bed. We now have a changing table on top of dd's drawers. Also, if space is tight you should be ok for a while as you can have a moses basket in your room? We kept dd in with us til 5 months then put her in her own room. Hoping to try the same again this time around.

Had scan today, little Bryo was not in the mood to play so took almost 3 hours(!) but all measurements etc fine so got the all clear today (the risk rating etc).

Due date has changed again, now looking at 6th August (am 13 plus 2), no need to update just for me tho needles.

Hi all, am loving reading about all the happy scan news!! I'm going for a private one tomorrow and don't mind telling people after that. I'm 9+3 today but cannot keep this bloody big secret any longer! All being well, Friday is tell the world day. I know I may be tempting fate here but the way I see it, if something bad's gonna happen or has happened, it ain't because I'm excited about telling people before 12 weeks....

Needles my date is now 2/9/12 so could end up Sept so I'd like to stay on this thread if ok

Good to hear about the scans going well.

I'm with you all on the need to sleep - I could happily go go sleep at 8, often am asleep by 9, but then wake up at 2 and can't get back to sleep!

On a more positive note, I went shopping today. No bump yet but have put on some weight, and my tailored work dresses and trousers were feeling very tight! I found a brilliant stretchy pencil skirt in Dorothy Perkins which I may well live in for the next few months. Tried on some maternity clothes which basically looked like tents. I'm a teacher, and although most of the staff know, I was going to wait a little while before telling the pupils. I love it being public knowledge though! People keep telling me to take it easy!

Hi All - have a question for you: so my NHS scan isnt until around 14 weeks (15th Feb) which just feels like its miles away. I am desperate to know all is ok - getting down in the dumps about not having the scan yet. This scan will be at the Princes Royal in Glasgow. However, because i had moved after telling first GP I was PG - i also received a scan for the 8th Feb at the Southern General - which I have not yet cancelled. My new GP did say that she wouldnt tell anyone if I went to that one and then later told them I am moving to a different hospital.

what would you do - would you go to the one on the 8th (and then the 15th) - or is that just being selfish by taking an appt from someone else - plus I would take both days off work (although I'm happy to do that)...

Or should I just wait till the 15th - its only another week....

what do you think? I'm just so desperate to see the scan and see that all is ok!!!!

Good news on the maternity clothes gnomi I picked up a few jersey dresses in the fcuk sale but can't wear them yet as hiding the bump at work...

Scottish I'd go to both scans and pretend I didn't realise, but then I'm a bit shameless and also it drives you nuts when you're waiting to see / hear if all is ok.

thanks Angel - I am worrying so much and like you say driving myself nuts waiting for the scan - so im so tempted to go to both adn just say to the one on the 8th I hadnt received another one yet so thought I better go to this one!!

Er, Sc0ttish, I'd also go to both if I was worried (I'm also on 15th hurrah) but will be 13 weeks. This will be my 4th scan and I'm STILL desperate to see so I totally know how you're feeling.

I have my scan today :) So my own due date may well be needing changed later. But, for now I've updated all the other ladies who asked me to.

dorita with DS I was on the March 2010 as due date was 5/3/10. In the end he came in February 2010 :) So don't worry about being on the 'wrong' bus, you are welcome here.

sc0ttishlass I would go to both too! I was crazy with waiting for a scan and went private on Monday and we have the NHS one next Tuesday. Doing them close together means you a get a look the week later too and that's fab!

Glad to say that after the scan I've slept really well for two nights and so I hope everyone can sleep well soon too!

hello, havn't been on here for ages. got my scan on sunday can't wait, we lost my dh dad last on weds and the furnel is on friday, so its going to be very mixed emoticons on at the scan. just wish he was here. can't get back on mn now untill sat night just about to head down to cornwall then back home on sat then scan been a bloody hard couple of weeks. At least he knew that i was pregnant before we lost him. don't know why im telling you all this, just trying not to get to stressed out and trying to think of bump.

Scottishlass I would go to them both too!! My scan isn't until the 16th and if there was a way for me to have one before then I would jump at the chance! Understand why you might feel a bit guilty about it but just keep in mind that everyone else would do the same thing!

Technoduck so sorry to hear your news, that's awful at any time but especially hard for you both now with the pregnancy and the scan so soon. Definitely take comfort from the fact that he knew your brilliant news! Hope you manage to stay as calm as possible for the rest of the week and loom forward to the silver lining on sunday!

Sc0ttishlass I would probably go to both. My scan is the same as yours-the 15th Feb and it is taking ages to get here. I would feel guilty too, but I think most people would do the same.

tecnoduck, sorry about your news. I know how you feel. My other half lost his Mum at the end of last year and she would have loved to share the scan pics as this would have been her first grandchild. (My other 2 are from previous relationship).Its a tough time for both of you, try and remain calm over the next few days and look forward to Sunday.x

Had scan, all went well. Baby is a bit of a punk rocker like me - had its arms and legs waving during the scan :)

From the measurements I'm measuring a week ahead of my period date, but according to the staff in hospital they only change the due date if it's more than 10 days difference.... fair enough, but I want to change my due date by a week, so I will change it on the August list from 24th Aug to 17th Aug

techno sorry to hear about your loss. Is always especially tough at times like this.
