tashaw28 · 27/01/2012 14:39

So sorry blackcats hope you are ok xx

JParkson · 27/01/2012 14:52

Hi Needles, could I be cheeky and ask that 'gwh' gets taken off mine next time? (don't have to do it now Wink)

MrsLister · 27/01/2012 15:40

Hello - good news from me :)

Had the scan and all was well - little tinker wiggled about and the sonographer said it had a 'good strong heartbeat' - can't tell you how relieved I am!!

I can see it's little arms and legs and heartbeat really clearly. I asked if I could have a picture and she said 'sorry we don't give pictures until the 12 week scan' which I was fine about. Anyway then at the end she said 'here you go - hide it though or I'll get into trouble!' and handed me a pic! Such a lovely lady.

I'm bang on 9+1 too which is exactly what my dates are going by LMP - my 12 week scan has been moved to Feb 17th so I'll be 12+1 then.

Looking at the scan report it says 'untrasound view restricted by overlying bowel gas' which I found hilarious - bloody bloating!

Apparently I ovulated from my right ovary (love how precise they can be) and have a retroverted uterus. Hoping that isn't a bad thing??

Anyway - I'm walking on cloud 9. Just need him/her to hold on another three weeks now till we're out of the main danger zone and I'll be able to relax (ish - probably won't until I'm holding it in my arms!)

JParkson · 27/01/2012 15:55

That's great re the scan MrsL, must be a bigish relief

How can they tell it was your right ovary though?!

PoppyS34 · 27/01/2012 16:05

Ahh, MrsL that IS fantastic news. :) Mine came from my right ovary, too (JP they can tell because of the corpus luteum which is on the ovary where the egg was from, that's what they told me! :))

My 9wk scan was also obstructed because of bowel, ahem, problems and an overly full bladder Blush, also my dates were spot in with scan at 9wks like yours, but they'd changed by 3 days (further forward) at the 12wk one.

So relieved for you, and really hope the time between now and the 17th goes so quickly. :o

PictureThis · 27/01/2012 16:26

MrsLister we are exactly the same gestation, and mine too came from my right ovary. I've got my scan on 13th Feb, only another fortnight to go. Unlike you I haven't had a MMC but I am terrified of having one, so looking forward to getting to the 12 week mark although that holds no guarantees.
Blackcats I am very sorry to hear of your loss, be kind to yourself.

hamncheese · 27/01/2012 16:45

Woohoo great news Mrslister! Overlaying bowel gas ... brilliant Grin i got totally pummelled by the scanner cause apparently I have amazing lower abdominals chuffed which were restricting a totally clear picture

Thanks marmite, I'm thinking of getting a sunlight therapy lamp now because I'm so bad with normal sized pills... never mind these :/

NeedlesCuties · 27/01/2012 16:46

JParkson have changed that for you in my list saved at home, sorry.

I have no real biz to report today, still feeling sick, but the cyclizine from the hospital is working a treat at keeping me from being sick :)

JParkson · 27/01/2012 16:52

Oh bless you needles, have you tried any sea/travel sickness bands to help with the nausea? I swear by mine - had them through DD's pg, and reached for them when I had the first wave of sickness this time too

(thanks for the tweak too)

poppy you learn something every day! :o

MrsLister · 27/01/2012 18:40

Thanks for all your lovely comments guys - let's hope we all have a happy and healthy 7(ish) months! :)

tubtoes · 27/01/2012 19:41

good evening everyone! It is so exciting reading everyone's lovely news and my heart goes out to blackcats, what a horrible horrible shock for you. I am doing fine, my sickness has lifted and I havent taken an anti-emetic since sunday! Yay! needles stick with them because they changed my life back in december and I wouldnt have got through January without them. And it feels so great being able to give them up!
On wednesday I had my scan at 12 + 5, I was terrified and had to wait 2 whole bloody hours, feeling sick from nerves, not hormones... finally I saw the doctor and although she was in a bit of a rush, it was amazing to see big headed baby kicking its legs around. They seem so skinny and long! It is a bit of a shame that its all in german, because while i understand the basics, I feel like I miss a lot of the information. But it was all great and it meant I was free to tell work.

I just started a new role in the place I have been working for 2.5 years, so i was really really scared to tell my boss. In the end she spent 10 minutes calming ME down and reassuring me about it all, as i do feel guilty to let her down like this and the baby really was not planned! So now many more people know and its starting to feel quite real.

So, things are definately perking up now I have hit the 13 week mark, I have heartburn every evening and sucking Rennies like theres no tomorrow, but I think I feel a bit stronger and i'm starting to enjoy food a bit again, even had a burrito last night! There was a while when I really believed I would never feel better and I would feel sick and weak and terrible for the whole pregnancy, so its a huge relief.

Wishing you all a happy friday night, enjoy your sofas (thats where i am anyway...)

TT

Angel786 · 27/01/2012 19:56

Great news mrslister on the scan. I got told I have a tilted womb, not really sure what that means as no one mentioned it last time...

tub toes glad your work took it well!

Am dreading telling my work as only been back from mat leave two months ( ! ) not expecting positive reactions at all.... scared face

NeedlesCuties · 27/01/2012 20:21

JParkson haven't tried sea-sickness bands... tried some sea-sickness tablets which didn't work.

I'm taking more hardcore anti-sickness meds on prescription and even at times they aren't strong enough to make me fully better. Thanks for the encouragement tubtoes!

Vinolover · 27/01/2012 21:19

That's lovely news tubtoes. I don't really take too much info in at scans because I just stare in amazement! I'm sure you didn't miss anything important :).

I have a womb which tilts back angel. It's certainly nothing to worry about. It has meant that any early scan I've had has had to be done internally because they cantsee my womb at all. Both times in labour my waters have broken at the last minute and I think that has somhing to do with it too.

hamncheese · 28/01/2012 07:41

Great news tubtoes :)

Did anyone see one born from Wednesday? Watched it last night with DH and was amazed at the woman whose waters went and the baby just fell out basically! Can't decide whether that would be welcome or scarily quick...

One thing is sure, every time I watch it I find something along the lines of "there is no way you are going to do that" to say to DH about some of the other partners on the programme!!

Happy weekend all Biscuit

Dorita75 · 28/01/2012 08:15

Hi all, Just a question. Has anyone had period type aching on one side at around 9 weeks? IT feels like it's in my right overy, sort of constant full ache of period pain but sometimes bit sharp and like a good fast would sort me out!

Think it could be either round ligaments stretching or corpus luteum from what I've read but any experiences and thoughts much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dorita75 · 28/01/2012 08:17

That's meant to say dull ache, and a good fart

I swear I'll throw this phone against the wall someday soon!

NeedlesCuties · 28/01/2012 08:26

Dorita I had that for a while when I was a bit gassy and constipated. Not pleasant, but is settling down now after drinking lots of orange juice Wink

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Angel786 · 28/01/2012 09:55

Thanks vino with dd my waters broke first, contractions didn't start tik 18 hours later and ended up being induced. She was bavk to back, have started a thread on tilted eombs and some interesting responses.

If my labour was like that ham I'd be sooo happy! Love one born every minute!

OP posts:
MrsMigginslovespies · 28/01/2012 12:09

Morning all, everyone well?

Yes Dorita I have a bit too, and have been a bit paranoid about it all since my fall. I'm going on that fact that things are growing and getting bigger, plus I'm probably still recovering a bit from IVF follicles being harvested. But I am concious about it all and trying to keep calm!

My sister had a super-fast labour too, with her babies popping out very soon after her waters broke too. She said it was a bit scary, but ultimately, good!

It's a lovely day here today but very cold, so if I ever get motivated and showered, plan to have a nice walk later!

Cheery bye for now!

Mummiestobe · 28/01/2012 17:40

I think I'm going to look into a water birth then... both of them seemed good on OBEM. Obviously that kind of detailed sampling is incredibly persuasive haha..

Anyone had a waterbirth? Any opinion? The midwife told me the ones at my hospital are not often used so shouldn't be hard to get one hmmm

MrsLister I was all gushy over the diabled woman's birth too. Especially when she was worried they were going to take the baby away! And man what a cute wee thing it was!

Also for general info I went to Holland and Barrett today and got their 25ug of Vit D tablets (which is a higher than necessary dose, though it is not a vitamin that is stored so that is safe) which are the same size as paracetamol capsules and therefore actually swallow-able! Also the 100 pill tub is £7.65 and in the "buy one get one for a penny" sale so 200 small pills for £7.66 score!
