Thought i was due 29th June but have now realised it's 6th July.

We have decided not to have any DS tests done either, as if the blood results were high, I still wouldn't have the amnio done.

SpringChicken · 05/02/2004 16:04

Scrap my last message - just had a row with DP now every time i try to ring his mobile he just switches me over to Voicemail! !

Fucking arsehole - easy how things can change so quickly!

littlerach · 05/02/2004 16:07

hope you're ok, SC.xx

SpringChicken · 05/02/2004 16:21

I'm Ok littlerach! Just had a cry in the toilet so feel better now!

We don't argue very often but everytime we have had a little bicker whilst i have been pregnant i have always apologised thinking it's my fault because my hormones are all over the place and i'm being a moody bitch! He's proved i was wrong.

All started cos he's got a driving lesson @ 6 and is stuck in london so wont get home in time - sat hinting for 5 minutes for me to ring the driving instructor and cancel rather than just come out and say it - this is what annoys me - haven't got a problem ringing the stupid instructor but why can't he just "Sorry honey, i know your at work but would u be able to ring him quickly and just explain".....................Of course i would but no he has to sit there saying "Oh, doesn't look like i'm gong to be home in time" "don't think i'll make my lesson" "He'll be sitting there waiting for me" - WHY NOT JUST ASK???????

So in the end i got annoyed, put the phone down and rang the instructor, expalined, everything is fine - Ring DP back to tell him and now he wont answer the phone, he knows its me cos my number comes up, he just keeps letting it ring twice then diverting the calls.
THe last tiem i rang he answered so i asked if he wanted to know what the instructor said, he said no and put the phone down!

He can't ring out on his mob at the minute so i know he wont ring me to say sorry or anything - probably blown this all out of proportion but it just seems a coincidence that i am going out with my SIL tonight and he manages to start an arguement every time i go out (Which i might add is every once in a blue moon).

I hate arguing with him and always think that he could have a crash or something on the way home then i would feel terrible but why is it always one sided? Why am i the one sitting here feeling shit cos i hate arguing with him when he is probably sitting in the van having a good old laugh and joke without a care in the world.

Sorry about the rant - FUCKING TOSSER! ! !

littlerach · 05/02/2004 16:41

have a good night though!!xx

SpringChicken · 06/02/2004 14:00

Afternoon all - Sorry about the ranting yesterday! ! Was having onhe of those pregnancy moments

Anyway, wanted to ask after seeing something similar on another thread - What is the situation with sleeping on your front?

Obviously when you have a huge bump you can't anyway but what is the right thing to do before then?
I am naturally most comfortable when sleeping on my front but DP keeps shouting at me saying i must be squaching the baby or something!

Quackers · 06/02/2004 14:57

Jems, glad you sound better today!! Hope you sorted it out with DP!!! F B!!! !!

I don't think you;re supposed to sleep on your front once you have a bump. The best is on the side. As you get bigger the more and more cushions you'll use!!!!! If you put a cushion between your legs and under your bump, it's surprisingly comfy but I'm as nad as you and keep going onto my back!!! It's really annoying! I need an anti roll device!!!!!

SpringChicken · 06/02/2004 15:01

Oooops DP was right then - i'm a bad mum already !

Better go and buy some more pillows over the weekend then! !

Quackers · 06/02/2004 15:55

I don't know what it does Jems, but I just seem to read everywhere that side is best for baby. I even heard 'left' side for heling the placenta!!! God knows why!! I used an old duvet folded over as a second matress in the late stages as I just couldn't get comfy!! The pillows should help!!

I had a lovely time last night feeling baby's kicks! It was amazing!! So strong for so early! I put my hand on my tummy and could feel it against. Surprising cos I have lots of fat there to get through!! Well stretched skin I call it!

littlerach · 06/02/2004 18:52

I am the same, have put pillow beside me to stop rolling!! I think that lying on your left increases the flow of blood.
Have lots of aches today.
Have a good weekend.xxx

bossykate · 08/02/2004 13:43

hello everyone

am now 15.5 weeks and am sure i can feel some movement - could be just wishful thinking though. am starting to feel anxious again - reassurance given by scan 2 wks ago has faded. have sorted out independent midwife and am seeing her on monday, so will ask if she can hear the hearbeat. we have started to tell people now, including work - gulp! had somewhat emotional conversation with present boss about discriminatory treatment experienced with first pg at hands of ex-boss (they fired him, haha, not on my account tho'. current boss made the right noises, but i'm not putting up with any s**te this time round. went into mat wear about 10 days ago. only have 2 pairs of work trousers that fit and one pair was at the cleaners.... so it was mat wear or tracksuit bottoms! i would be hideously embarrassed at wearing it this early, if it weren't still really far too big. i did consider buying some "intermediate" stuff - elasticated waists, bigger sizes etc - but decided that was a waste of time and money and i might as well bite the bumpswear bullet. was relieved to find that most of the stuff from before still fits, despite me increasing a dress size since last time. still feeling nauseated, but it is easing off. still tired and emotional. am having a little bit of wine each week e.g. a glass on sat night to make me feel more human. is anyone else doing this or are you all totally teetotal? still getting cravings for cigarettes, but managing to withstand them. still occasionally thinking, oh god what have i done?

hope everyone else is well, best wishes, bk

hermykne · 08/02/2004 14:09

hello bossykate
i am similar to you in dates. in the maternity gear already , cant believe it, limited selection from my 1st, but i have to ban the tracksuit shortly otherwise i'll never get out of it. so handy...
yes i have the odd glass or two of wine but trying to stay under 3 /4 units a week so i only 1/2 fill the glass so i think i am having 2 instead of 1! my dh isnt happy though he says this preg should be the same as the 1st when i was more careful!
still need my snooze late afternoon, its amazing how tired you become.

cheerio

popsycal · 08/02/2004 14:11

Sorry just jumping in as I saw a post by freddiecat and i have been trying to get in touch with her!!

Hope you are ok freddie!! Will ring you!

littlerach · 08/02/2004 16:10

Nice to hear from you, BK, how are you?
I am 15.2, feeling much better, although still tired. Have heard the heartbeat, have appt on Fri 13th!! They will take blood then, not my fave bit!! My friend had a DS yesterday, 2 days early, I was so excited for them , I ended up leaving a teary message on their a/p!!

SpringChicken · 09/02/2004 10:32

Good to hear from you BK Hope the midwife can give you some reassurance.

I'm 18+2 now - feeling little flutters more and more often - got midwife appt. tomorrow so will hopefully hear heartbeat again - Yippeeee!

Have been very good, haven't slept on my front since Thursday night and have been suprisingly comfortable on my side.

Helsbels · 09/02/2004 15:49

Hi all
hope everyone is ok. Jems, sleeping on your side is meant to increase blood supply to placenta and make for a healthier bub!! I'm in maternity clothes and drinking wine (though only a little bit under 4 a week). Still don't feel pg, will be 18weeks on Weds. Feeling the odd flutter but nothing definate. Must be well masked by all the blubber around it! I have heartburn every night without fail and can not even peel potatoes. The smell makes me feel sick. Went off roasties with ds and have never eaten them since!

SpringChicken · 09/02/2004 16:45

I think i would die if i went of Roasties - I absolutely love 'em! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Heartburn has been a complete bitch today - complete agony! !

Going to ask midwife about it tomorrow but defo think i'm starting to get branston hicks - had a few over the weekend that really caught me of guard - DP was panicking and asking whether it was normal, bless him, can tell he's going to be alot of use at the birth Bless his cottons

Helsbels · 09/02/2004 16:48

tee hee!! told you you'd get heartburn!! It gets us all- it's horrid isn't it? Read somewhere that you get BH's all through so it's v possible you can feel them.

Quackers · 09/02/2004 17:02

Hiya, glad you're all in high spirits, bar the heartburn. Got my first bottle of Gaviscon today and it will be well used! Hate heartburn, can't have OJ now and that's been my fave!!!
I have my scan on Wednesday am. It's a booking scan would you believe at over 16 weeks! Glad I managed to have my early ones for reassurance!
I'm sure I held my uterus hardening too the other day but dismissed it, maybe you're right then Jems!

SpringChicken · 10/02/2004 10:17

Gosh Quacks, thats a long time to wait for a booking in scan ! Do you think it will effect the timing you get your 20 weeks scan?

Well, had midwife appointment this morning - everything is fine! Baby's heartbeat is nice, strong and loud - midwife even said, if you go by the old wives tale of the strength of heartbeat depends on whether its a boy or a girl, then we are having a girl ! ! ! I know it's only an old wives tale but i did start thinking a few weeks ago it's going to be a girl ! Obviously i will be pleased whatever the result though
Bloods came back absolutely fine - i'm o positive - iron level is excellent and no HIV or Syphilis Did say that i thought i would've heard before 18+3 if the Results said anything different!

My midwife is leaving in April to go back ont he wards - so i have to swap and have a new one i've never met before! ! Terrific She was really nice aswell - ah well, sure the new one will be fine!

Scan a week on Thursday - Cannot wait ! !

littlerach · 10/02/2004 10:30

We don't get a booking in scan here, you have a dating scan if you don't know the date of your LMP. So with DD I didn't have a scan until 21 wks.

Helsbels · 10/02/2004 10:41

we don't get a booking scan either. I had a dating scan as I wasn't 100% sure of LMP dates, but otherwise it's 21 weeks. Glad everything is ok.

Quackers · 10/02/2004 15:19

Jems, I still get my anomoly scan at 20 weeks, but here it;s 16 for first scan, fortunately they sent me for the 2 early ones!
Glad all is well Jems!!! I listened mysekf again this morning and could hear heartbeat beautifully and placenta!!!!!! Amazing! Looking forward to scan though to see how little on is looking!!!

SpringChicken · 10/02/2004 15:52

Sorry to be thick but what about the placenta? ? ?

It's amazing how nervous you still get though - i had been abslutely fine up until last night, not thought a bad thought in weeks but as i knew i was seeing midwife this morning and she would listen to heartbeat i just kept thinking about if she couldn't find it and if something had gone wrong without me realising! Suppose that's never going to stop - whole new set of worries once they are actually here!

littlerach · 10/02/2004 18:27

The placenta makes a whooshy noise i believe!!
Do you know, I am the same, feel positive until I have to go for appt, then all worried. And you're right, this is just the start of so much worry!!! Why do we do it?!
