Mentioned a few weeks ago that i was going to start swimming as a form of excercise - have now decided can't really afford it - would cost £3.50 per go and i was hoping to go 3 times a week - Plus DP has just started going to the gym (which is another additional cost) so i thought i would sacrifice my swimming and just start walking instead!

Was wide awake at 6.30 this morning so rather than sit around waiting for 8 o'clock to come so i could go to work, i decided to walk.............. Don't think i realised quite hoe far it was - Took me 1 hr 10 mins, worked it out when i arrived at work that it somewhere between 2.5 and 3 miles and i am bloody shattered! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I have been told off by DP, brother and mum - needless to say wont be doing it again in a hurry!

I feel like an old woman - my knees hurt, my hips ache and i feel like i could just sleep - I am so unfit - I AM ONLY 19

Helsbels · 27/01/2004 09:56

Thanks Quacks, nice to know it is not just me!! Am looking forward to mw visit in the morning. I want to start feeling movements though - should it be earlier with the second? I think I elt a pop last week but nothing since - I can't remember when it started with DS.

SpringChicken · 27/01/2004 10:06

I think movements can be felt earlier with the second and subsequent babies Helbels but don't think it is always the case. I thought i felt some movements about 2 weeks ago but have felt nothing since - Hopefully wont be long!

Think we need a roll call as i have completely lost track of who is due when - I'll start:

Due 10th July - 16+2 today

SpringChicken · 27/01/2004 10:07

Ooooops my mistake - try again:

Due 10th July - 16+3 today

Helsbels · 27/01/2004 10:43

I'm 14th or 15th July - whichever is a wednesday!! Wait till you feel the kicks properly Jems - it is the best feeling in the world!! DS used to keep me awake every night - he still thinks he is David Beckham now! BTW being kept awake by a baby kicking is probably the least annoying thing in the world! It's lovely!

SpringChicken · 27/01/2004 10:59

I'm sure it is Helsbels Can't wait!

My tummy felt really strange yesterday - tried to explain to DP but there wasn't anythign really noticable, just felt different!
I kept placing my hands either side of my "bump" and it just felt strange, couldn't tell you why, don't know if it was baby moving or not.

Have been able to sleep on my front up until now but it is really uncomfortable now - and i need to wee so much more again - up until about 10 weeks i was having to get up in the night to go, then it eased off but for the last few days i just feel like i can't stop going - bladder constanlty feels full!

Quackers · 27/01/2004 13:34

I'm 14 weeks today! Due July 28th! Sounds daft but I had felt a couple of little bubbles and then 2 days ago I felt a bigger one and was 100% sure that is it. IT's v early but not impossible I suppose! Nothing since though. Helsbels it's around 16-18 weeks for a second I heard. I didn't feel anything with DD till 23 weeks though.
Jems, you;re mad, doing that before work!! Why don't you swim once a week? You'll really feel the benefit as you get bigger! I couldn't keep away with DD, I felt weightless! Then you could do a couple of half hour walks say, something like that?

SpringChicken · 27/01/2004 14:18

Tell you what i am thinking about it now Quacks - i feel awful - My bum hurts, my legs hurt, me knees hurt, my hips feel like they are going to break in half!

Why O why do i have these ridiculous idea's?

madgirl · 27/01/2004 14:31

hi all. i'm due 9th july. 17.4 weeks today. i am so sure i felt him/her move last week but since then nothing.
also think i MUST be winning on the weight stakes-9 bleeding pounds already!

littlerach · 27/01/2004 14:41

I am 13.4 wks, due on 31 July.
You were "talking" about being unsure this time round, helsbels and quacks, and it's so true. I must stop reading and listening to horror stories, as I keeo convincing myself that this one will stop growing and I won't find out, or that it will die and i won't realise. Hmm, morbid thoughts I'm afraid. I think DD's ch pox hasn't helped, as this does worry me. Also have been off work, so more time to dwell!! Back tomorrow!!!!
Has anyone else had bleeding teeth or nose? I have had both, and very attractive I look too!!!
I felt DD kick at 22 wks, and slight move, ents before that. Cannot wait for this one.

Helsbels · 27/01/2004 14:46

Littlerach - we're on a parrellel! I worried more when ds was ill last week and I was off work. I have exactly the same thoughts about this baby but I feel so much better to know that it's not just me. Everything will be fine {{{}}}

Helsbels · 27/01/2004 14:46

Oh and I have a bleeding nose and congestion - mmmm.... lovely

littlerach · 27/01/2004 14:57

I also heard of an aqcaintance who was pregnant, due same time as me. She went for her nuchal scan and the baby had died at 8 wks. I think this has worried me as I always thought that there would be physical signs of miscarriage.

Helsbels · 27/01/2004 15:00

I think that is why I am worried, my mums best friend's daughter is the same age as me and we both got 'caught' at the same time - I heard she had lost hers just before Christmas. Apparantely, it is called a missed miscarriage. I do not know if they are common or not but thinking about it, I believe that it has upset me more than I thought even though I had 2 scans (nuchal and dating) at the end of December and all was well then. We will be okay, Little rach, keep posting

SpringChicken · 27/01/2004 15:52

Littlerach & Helsbels - can't say i know exactly what you mean about how you feel "this time" as i haven't done it before but i can certain sympathise with you regarding the horrible thoughts and panicking!

I have even had horrible nightmares that wake me up in the night - keep thinking about the baby dying and me not knowing until weeks and weeks later - keep thinking about going for a scan when everything should be happy and there not being a heartbeat It's just awful! Don't suppose you really stop worrying though do you cos when the baby arrives you've got a whole new panick about cot death and Sudden Infant Death syndrome.

We're just going to have to face it - the rest of our lives are going to be filled with panick and worry ! !

littlerach · 27/01/2004 16:23

Thanks for your posts, SC and helsbels, yuo are so right that you never stop worrying!! I think the worst thing at the moment is that there are no real signs of pregnancy, eg movement, big belly etc. I actually said to my midwife that I could be lying, as until they find the heartbeat or do a scan, it is just your word, and that I could have just been pretending - I am probably on her list of neurotic mums, or I'll probably have a different mw next time!!!! Anyway what I'm trying to say is that there is nothing we can do to prevent anything, other than obvious things, yet there is nothing we can do to make sure that everything is ok, and that is what is so frustrating. This is when I wish you had more appts, as there is some reassurance in hearing the heartbeat.
So anyway, have found out there is a birthing pool at this hospital....any thoughts???

Quackers · 27/01/2004 17:07

It's so hard not to worry, but just to make you feel better, my first m/c was 'missed'. I would say at the stage you're at now with growing bellies and the symptoms you're having I would find it hard to think of it happening now. We all have a 99% chance of success after scan ok. I just didn't grow and my symptoms lessened and the 'feeling' of pgcy disappeared long before I found out I had lost the baby. However, I had no signs such as bleeding or pain so thought I must be ok. I went along with this until 15 weeks and at my scan there was a baby of about 8 weeks. You've all had successful scans and are growing well, esp Madgirl !! It was tough knowing I'd carried the poor thing around for so long without knowing but in a way I was comforted thinking it didn't want to leave me either. Sorry to be morbid, just wanted to reassure you all that you are all well established and doing reallly well!!!!!!!
BTW - 1 pound so far! But I don't care! As long as all goes well!

littlerach · 27/01/2004 17:21

DH has just been reassuring me that I have heard the heartbeat at 12 wks and that is further along than many missed miscarriages.
Quackers, thanks for your message, I guess I should be thinking of positive things rather than negative things! The fact I am in a larger size jeans, yet haven't eaten much is a real sign!!! Just having one of those days I think.
Another sign!!!!!!!
Flippin' hormones! Will be glad to get back to work tomorrow, need something to concentrate on.
Thanks so much for all your posts.XXX

Quackers · 27/01/2004 20:40

Your DH is very wise!! Yes they say missed miscarriaged occur before 8-9 weeks and then go undetected. The chances of this happening to you now are extremely slim. Take care! Chat tomorrow!

littlerach · 28/01/2004 08:27

Thanks again, Quacks.
This board can really keep you sane!!
Have had stretching pains all night, so feel better (thanks baby!!) although achy.

madgirl · 28/01/2004 08:31

morning littlerach, hope work is making you less fretful- tho i think we all take it in turns to be the one doing the fretting! Quackers, thought you would be the one to pick up on my weight gain. someone at work just said i look different as well, which i think means i have a fat face

Quackers · 28/01/2004 09:50

Pleased to be of service Madgirl
They say thin people put on the most weight though!!! I am not exactly sylph like, not any more anyway. I'm 2 dress sizes bigger this time around!! I felt quite slim with DD even at 41 weeks!!!!
Littlerach, glad you felt some stretching, it's good isnt it, very reassuring! When is your next scan/heartbeat listening session???
I had a listen with my Doppler on saturday and got it straight away! I was delighted!!!
I've got to wait 2 more weeks for a scan though but the consultant is doing it so that must be worth waiting for!! Actually he's alright, quite young and friendly. Knows me inside out IYKWIM!!!

Helsbels · 28/01/2004 10:06

Morning - been to MW and heard heart beat!! It is v low in my pelvis she says and that is why I have not felt definate movements. With 2nd they can start as early as 14 or as late as 20 weeks - feel loads better now!!

littlerach · 28/01/2004 10:21

Next appt on Fri 13 - aahhhhh!! Must be so tempting to just sit and listen to the heartbeat, Quacks!!
We have had an appt through for DD to see a SALT, at last!! So I need to speak to the nursery staff for their input.
My size 14 jeans are feeling tighter, usually 12, and have only been wearing them a wk!!

SpringChicken · 28/01/2004 10:32

Congratulations Helsbels It's so lovely isn't it! ! !

Can't wait for my next scan - we saw loads at 13 weeks - had a student sonograopher who was really methodical and spent loads of time showing us everything - Hope we get her next time !

Next scan 19th Feb - only 22 days to go! Not that i'm counting
