The Doc picked it up at 10 weeks and 1 day first time!!! Amazing! Must have a super woofer machine!!

I resigned cos I don't get the same maternity rights over here. I'd get 4 months off max from the birth!! I have always had probs with my boss too so this is the perfect opportunity to have a think about what I'd really like to do when the new baby is old enough. I have to give 2 months notice so will leave end of March!!
M2T, working on sorting the computer - it's buggered!

Quackers · 09/01/2004 12:05

Oh MG, hopefully next week - waitng to hear! We're all pretty much second trimester!

NGPY · 09/01/2004 17:00

Quackers, great news! And congratulations on resigning...

hermykne · 12/01/2004 12:42

hi everybody
havent posted on this thread for ages.
had my scan (12wks) on sat. got an earlier date of 20th july, but my dates suggest 27th.
maybe another big baby!
feeling absolutely wrecked. the nausea is still driving me nuts, has usually been in the afternoon to night but now today it was this morn.
my dd of 15mths is keeping me busy, she wants everything she sees and wants up! oh my back.

any of you have other children, how do you find it? i go to bed when she does. in my 1st i remember feeling tired but it did pass i hope it does in this as i miss my walks - cant even do a daily one.

so i had a quick scan over the thread every one seems ok and doing well.

Quackers · 12/01/2004 14:17

Hiya! Sorry to hear you're still suffering. I'm just starting to get over the nausea now. I do have a 3 yr old, but I get rest at work 3 days a week! Then on my days at home she kindly watches tv for half an hour while i close my eyes. Same as you though, pretty much in bed just after her!

SpringChicken · 13/01/2004 13:30

This thread is sooooooo boring - where is everyone???

Freddiecat - you haven't been here for ages
Hermykne & Helbels haven't been around for ages either - WHERE IS EVERYONE HIDING?

Well i'm at 14+3 today - now have a firm and fixed EDD of 10.07.04 - 10 days before my birthday - lets hope this little munchkin gets a wriggle on and puts in an appearance nice and early!
Have had scan - baby has got 1 head, 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 feet, 2 hands thankfully. Have also had midwife appointment today, heard baby's heartbeat for the first time (DP is dead jealous that i got to hear it and he didn't )

Hopefully this thread will liven up soon - seems to be going through a bit of a drought.

SC x

I am here!!!
No ms for 8 days now, also managed to eat some choccies last night!!
Still addicted to burnt white toast. Also had craving for minestrone cuppa soup at the weekend.
DD is rather an angel. We ahve a little rest together if we are here in the afternoons, which is so cosy. Work are so nice about everything and don't mind me doing as little as poss!!
Still suffering from nausea in the evenings, after dinner, but it's better than throwing up each morning!
Have mw appt on Friday, will be 12 wks exactly. Am hoping they will listen for the heartbeat.
Anyone else still around?

NGPY · 13/01/2004 18:57

I'm here too!

LR - you must be due 30th July? I've got my booking-in appt on Thurs - 12wks exactly and will also ask for them to listen out for the heartbeat. I am going potty waiting for my scan! Not to mention the "strain" of retaining two identities on MN

I've had it both better and worse in terms of nausea this time. Have felt much sicker and have "gone off" more foods, but otoh have not actually vomited at all yet. Last puke at 19 wks last time, so I suspect I might be feeling ill for quite a while yet. It is more or less constant - temporarily assuaged by eating.

Scan or no scan, have had to bite the bullet and get some maternity clothes. Specifically, warm tops. DS was born in July also and last time I found when I needed warm gear it had all disappeared from the shops. The only thing I could get was a particularly unflattering grey cardi which I have absolutely no intention of wearing again! Have kept all the tags though in the event all is not well, so can return the stuff if necessary.

Hope everyone else is well and starting to feel better.

popsycal · 13/01/2004 19:05

Just thought I would let you know....Freddiecat is very well.
Just working form home with a dial up connection so doesnt often get to post!
She was asking me today if she could have a jacuzzi and steam room session when preg - so she is fine!!!
Will text her your regards!

littlerach · 13/01/2004 19:25

NGPY, why two identities? Am I missing something - brain has gone to mush, so forgive me if I have!!
Had to buy new jeans at the weekend, as have almost gone up a size - not happy!! Refuse to wear mat clothes until I have to. Feel so scruffy if I wear joggers etc.
You are right about my edd.

NGPY · 13/01/2004 19:28

Had a miscarriage earlier in the year, found out at the earliest opportunity, told everyone on MN (thankfully hardly anyone in RL), miscarried at 6wks, felt an utter, utter eejit.

Am sort of superstitious/cautious about going public now until there is more cause for optimism.

Quackers · 14/01/2004 09:27

Hiya, I'm here too! Just struggling to post as my computer is still broken with about 20 virus'!!

I have my booking in on Tuesday, I'll be 13 weeks. Nausea is GONE!!! I'm constantly feeling my mini bump making sure it's still there!!

I didn't know either Littlerach, so we must both be going potty!! Whe do you feel ready to tell us NGPY??? OOOH the gossip!!!

Glad you heard the heartbeat Jems!! It's fab isn't it!! My DH's birthday is same day as yours!

SpringChicken · 14/01/2004 09:39

Oh yeah, i completely forgot NGPY had 2 identities - when are you going to tell ? ? Ohh the suspense!!!

Glad Freddiecat is doing well - Tell her we all say hi

My bump is getting bigger and bigger day by day - when i haven't got any clothes on you can definitely see i am pregnant (That means Dp & I can see and we already know )
Midwife asked yesterday if i'd felt any movements - when i said no she looked a bit surprised and said that it should be long before i do. Does this sound right? I thought you didn't usually feel movements til around 20 weeks.
I am so excited about feeling the baby move and knowing exactly where it is - as the minute DP asks me where the baby is every day when he says his morning and evening rituals but i haven't got a clue!

Quackers · 14/01/2004 09:58

Don't you worry Jems, it's way too early!!! I'm sure Mears will tell you that!! It's 20-22 weeks for a first and 18ish for a second!! I felt my first around 22-23 weeks. Can't believe she put that on you! Won't be long though and it will be prodding you in the night and wiggling when you walk, it's funny!

SpringChicken · 14/01/2004 10:04

Yeh, suppose i can't wait now but it'll be a different story when i'm being kicked to pieces

I'm not worried about it, was just surprised that she said it as i was sure i wouldn't feel anything for another 6 weeks or so. Maybe i'm bigger than i thought and i look like i'm 20 weeks already No way!

madgirl · 14/01/2004 10:15

jems don't worry. with ds i was worried sick til 21 weeks when i felt him move. just be patient!

NorfolkTurkey · 14/01/2004 18:35

I felt my last one at about 16 weeks. I'm now 14+3 and the bump is starting to break through the flab! I sit there at work with my fat belly, my bucket of white maltesers (left over from Chrimbo) and my ever tightening clothes and loving it!

Ooooh, as I'm writing this I've noticed that Jemma7 is due on my birthday - 6th July!

mears · 15/01/2004 00:01

Quackers is right about movement. The more babies you have the earlier you feel it move. I didn't feel my first move till 22 weeks but my 4th was 15 weeks. The first time a baby is felt moving is called "quickening". It used to be important when dating pregnancies but scans do that now. The midwife was probably asking a broad question rather than expecting a certain answer.

SpringChicken · 15/01/2004 11:50

That's me NT - i changed my name a while ago - dancied something a bit more original!

Sorry to disappoint but i am no longer due on your birthday - it has changed about 5 times due to confusion between me, midwife and hospital - Baby now due on 10th July

I had to tell me DP off last night - he is so sure that this is a boy he has stopped calling it bump, baby, twiglet etc and has now taken to calling the baby Finley which is the name we have chosen for a boy - He is going to get the shock of his life if it turns out to be a girl

Doesn't help that my mum is adamant it's a girl and keeps referring to "her" as Tinkerbell

NorfolkTurkey · 15/01/2004 11:58

Oh well! I'm due on the 11th July!

Your baby is going to have an identity crisis! Finley's a nice name though.

My habbie used to call my bumo 'little legs!'

SpringChicken · 15/01/2004 12:11

I had an ulterior motive with my naming - i thought if i called the baby Twiglett it would be small and skinny! Not going according to plan if my ever growing belly is anythign to go by

NGPY · 15/01/2004 12:34

I'm sure it won't be terribly exciting when you find out who I am!

Mears, is there any way you could feel a baby moving at only 12 wks? I'm sure I felt it yesterday, but I'm aware it's "too early"...

M2T · 15/01/2004 12:36

.... sneaking into this thread again.... it's the August one's turn to be quiet.

I felt ds move at 17 wks and it quickly goes from flutters to thumps! My Mum felt her 3rd and 4th at 14 wks.

NorfolkTurkey · 15/01/2004 12:42

I just read what I said earlier and realised that my spelling went totally to pot. Whoops!

I'm 14 weeks and I'm sure I can feel mine moving. It's my third pregnancy so you never know!

Marina · 15/01/2004 12:46

NGPY, did you have your booking-in yet? How did it go?
