Oh Jem that must have been really scary. Just put your feet up and relax. REALLY good excuse now not to lift a finger over Christmas.

I have my first scan this afternoon. I reckon I am 12 weeks so we'll see what they say. My tummy has already popped out and (one for Popsycal this) I reckon I can feel my fundus!

GladTidings · 17/12/2003 10:59

Good luck for your scan Freddiecat!

lol @ feeling your fundus!

I will be 7wks on Friday (estimate!) and I feel as though I'm already getting a bump! Must just be everything loosening off a bit.

quackers · 17/12/2003 13:29

Oh Jems, I'm so glad everything is ok. It's scary isn't it but what a relief! I'm off work too, resting after my bleeding 2 weeks ago. I thought the Doc would say oh no get back to work, but he was fab, offered a month cos of my history. My taste seems to have changed agian today, The metallic tatse is loads stonger and have been craving tuna but not so sure now!
Freddiecat, let us know how it goes!

popsicicle · 17/12/2003 19:57

freddiecat!!!!
get your hands off your fundus!!!!
hehehe!!

NGPY · 18/12/2003 14:34

Hello everyone

I'm 8 weeks today, due 29th July 04. Despite signing on with the GP three weeks ago, I haven't got a booking-in appointment yet or an appointment for a nuchal scan. I would be grateful if you ladies could please tell me whether you have/had your appointments yet and when did they come through?

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Freddiecat · 18/12/2003 14:41

Hello had my scan yesterday and it was all fine. This is my second and I thought it would not be quite as exciting my it was and I got all emotional when the baby waved and we could see its fingers!

NGPY last time I found out I was pregnant at 9 weeks and was not registered with a doctor. They insisted that I had a nurse appointment before seeing the doctor before seeing the midwife. I missed the nurse appointment as I got stuck in traffic and ended up sitting on the side of the road in floods of tears to the receptionist on the phone who booked me all appointments back to back.

I had my booking in appointment shortly after I found out I was pregnant and the scan yesterday at 12 weeks. They are quite efficient round here though.

quackers · 18/12/2003 21:30

Glad all is well FC!!! Great news, bless it, waving at you!
NYPG, wlecome, congrats! It seems everywhere is different, I don't get booked in till 12 weeks. I have had a scan though and having another next week, but that's cos of two losses prior to this pgcy. Maybe ring your Doc's and ask when the midwife does her bookings in and first scans, just to put your mind at rest! I'm due 28th!!

littlerach · 19/12/2003 08:31

Good morning to you all. Feel a bit more human at the moment. Had my scan yesterday, and they dated me 31 July, which is just 2 days different to my dates. I now have to call the midwives and book myself in with them. I think that I have a booking in appt at 10 weeks, and discuss everything with them then. Have started to tell people ay work, as I have looked so rough!! Also we have our Xmas party on Sat and I feel it will be obvious then!! I also feel that if anything did happen, they would all know then.
It seems to have gone really quiet on thie thread - where is everyone?!xxx

XmasQuackers · 19/12/2003 13:11

XmasQuackers · 23/12/2003 10:02

This thread is so quiet!! Where is Jems??
I have my second scan today. I'm 9 weeks. I am praying all is well!!

GladTidings · 23/12/2003 10:03

Hi Quacks - I posted on the August thread to say good luck for the scan!

What time is it at?

littlerach · 23/12/2003 10:09

Everyone seems to have gone!! I am still here. Still puking lots!! How's everyone else?

XmasQuackers · 23/12/2003 17:45

Hiya, Littlerach, me too, twice this afternoon! Had my scan, all is fine and baby was waving and moving about loads!!! Got a lovely view!

Be Monday now before I can log on again, so have a wonderful puky Xmas! I'll be a taxi service no doubt for my drunken family!

NGPY · 01/01/2004 10:53

That is good news, Quackers, congratulations

I've been feeling a little worried the past couple of days as my symptoms are much reduced, e.g nausea, tiredness, mood swings etc. I'm only 10 weeks and wouldn't have expected things to ease up for another few weeks based on past performance. I had a miscarriage earlier in the year and can't help feeling concerned now.

Do you think it would be out of order to go to EPU and ask for a scan? Would it be total time-wasting and squandering scarce NHS resources?

TIA.

Helsbels · 01/01/2004 13:59

Happy New Year everyone - went for dating and Nuchal scans on Tuesday - everything fine. Been sick for the first time this morning (and no, I did not get drunk last night!!)Hope you are all okay - back to work on Monday so we will all be back chatting then, no doubt?

madgirl · 02/01/2004 09:08

NGPY - listen if you've had a miscarriage already this year (sorry abotu that ) then I think it would be perfectly acceptable to go. I have worrying in a similar fashion to you now for a few weeks and if i didn't have my nuchal this pm i think i would be at the epu this morning. all i can say is - the chances of everthing being ok for you are extremely positive, and not negative, and every pregnancy is different, so whatever is "average" is not "normal". lol and hth x

XmasQuackers · 02/01/2004 09:16

I agree with Madgirl and am amzed you have lasted till 10 weeks without asking for an early scan. Everyone after m/c should be offered one and I have asked each time and been lucky enough to have an understanding Doc that gives them. Symptoms can start to lessen after about 8 weeks as the HCG peaks around this time when the placenta takes over. I would call your EPU and explain about your previous m/c and that you desperatley need reassurance. I hope you get some much deserved attention. Love Qxx
Madgirl, HOW ARE YOU!! Nuchal today then! Please come back and let us know how you get on!!
I'm 10 weeks 3 days today and can feel a tiny bumb now. Clothes tight etc.. Doc found the heartbeat on Wednesday!!!! IT was wonderful. The scan were fab but there's nothing like the sound of a heartbeat!!!!

madgirl · 02/01/2004 09:40

NGPY- that's a great idea - call your epu for advice. could you still go today??
oh my god quackers - i have goosebumps from reading your post. i am vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv excited and so happy for you that you heard heartbeat - so special.
v nervous about nuchal - terrified in fact in case they tell me that baby has dead in womb (poor poor leander on may/june thread had that happen to her)i was so determined that this pregnancy i would not worry like the last, and i'm much, much worse! gosh i am so pleased about your baby.

Quackers · 02/01/2004 11:36

Thankyou! It was great yes!
I had a missed miscarriage the first time. It's awful. I was 15 weeks but the baby had died at around 8. I've learned that no matter how much worrying and stressing you do, it does not change the outcome of what is going to be. Just hang in there, you'll know soon enough and see your little one jumping around on screen!!!! Good luck!!

NorfolkTurkey · 02/01/2004 20:31

Oh Quackers - you are so right! Although it is easier said than done, it is important to try and be positive as at the end of the day what will be will be.

I'm so pleased that they heard a heartbeat! It is a special moment eh? I'm 12+5 and bought a baby doppler a while ago - oh what the heck, I'll go and christen it now!!

Quackers · 03/01/2004 15:50

Hi Norfolk, gosh I bet that set you back a bit!! How did it go??

Madgirl, anynews for us chuck???

NorfolkTurkey · 03/01/2004 23:18

Quackers - I got it from America! It's all singing and all dancing and it only cost about £80! People say it will make you worry all the more if you can't find the heartbeat, but I though I'm going to worry anyway (when I reach the mid 20's - when I lost my last 2) and it will give me some reassurance!

I couldn't find the baby's heartbeat this time as apart from testing it on the hubby, it was the furst time I used it on myself. Better luck next time!!

nutcracker · 03/01/2004 23:23

NGPY - I had a threatened miscarraige with dd1 and so demanded an early scan with dd2. The doctor thought i was completely over reacting but i didn't care, it put my mind at test, which was all i wanted.
