Hi there. I was just wondering how everyone is - Ghosty, Hilary, Bogwoppit and anybody else who is pregnant after a previous miscarriage. There seems to have been a lot of sad news re pregnancies on mumsnet recently. On the one hand, I feel like I don't want to parade being pregnant in front of those who have had an m/c - on the other hand, we need to show that there are some positive stories out there!
I am 16 weeks tomorrow. Feeling ok, over the nausea I felt from about week 7 to week 12 or 13.

gingernut, yes I'm nearly nearly 12 weeks ( on Thursday) it's absolutely crept by. Sickness has eased off considerably. My scan at Kings is next week and I've got my booking in appt too day after that. Am quite anxious about the scan, it was at the dating scan last June that we were given the bad news. So still not quite wanting to believe that everything is fine.
Hope you have escaped the virus - there's always something to worry about. I've not been around much because have been so tired and sick, but I think the worst is over!

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2004 12:47

Good luck for your scan next week hana

hana, good luck from me too. It is a very worrying time, but you will get through it. You are exactly 4 weeks behind me BTW!

bunny2 · 13/06/2004 21:42

hana, good luck. It is such a shame scans are ruined for some of us. When I had ds I loved having scans and seeing my baby but now I dread the bad news I am always half expecting. Fingers crossed all will be absolutely fine, I am sure it will be.

gingernut, it looks like you are well clear of any danger. That is really good news.

Quackers · 14/06/2004 23:31

Hana, I'll be thinking of you next week for your scan. It's the toughest bit and when it's over you'll be much happier and able to relax a little, although we never forget what's happned so we always expect something to go wrong, the chances are reduced so much after a successful scan. Best of luck xxxx
Bunny, how are you mate. Do you know I was thinking last night ( i know sad). Was it the cycle where the Doc said you hadn;t ov'd that you conceived this time? I remember us discussing this on the conception thread and we thought you had but he didn;t think so. Well you proved him wrong!
Gingernut, thanks, she's had a trace and having the ultrasound and echo next Fri. All was fine at the trace. I'm fairly confident she's fine and no problems!

bunny2 · 15/06/2004 20:57

Quacks, I was thinking of you too!!! Yes, it was the cycle I was told I hadnt ov'ed that I got pg. The same happened last year. A 21 day progesterone test showed I didnt ov but I gpt pg anyway. Are these tests a load of bllcks?

Quackers · 15/06/2004 21:08

Wow, I thought so!!! I have no idea then if these tests are actually any use! You have provewn that the prog test came back neg but have gone on to be pg!!!!! When is your next scan then now chuck?

hana · 21/06/2004 17:37

Had scan yesterday and everything is fine!

What a difference a day makes, feel so positive and well, like I can start to get excited about this pregnancy! My dates are still on for Christmas Day, and I've already got a date through for the 20 week scan. That seems ages off! So looks like I really AM pregnant and that things are going to be ok!

hewlettsdaughter · 21/06/2004 17:44

hana - that's great news

eyelash · 21/06/2004 18:48

brilliant news hana - so pleased for you.

Canadianmom · 21/06/2004 21:28

Hana, Great news! You must be so delighted! I am so pleased for you as I know only too well how nerve-wracking these ultrasound-scans can be.
One more week and I will join the post-scan crowd myself. Feeling sick just thinking about it, actually.

gingernut · 21/06/2004 22:41

hana, great news !

Canadianmom, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for next week.

Quackers · 21/06/2004 23:25

WEHEY HANA!!! Fab news, this is such a positive thread at the moment!!!!!!! We will get there!!
Had a small scare yesterday. Baby hadn't moved for a third day in a row. Rang the maternity unit after I thought I lost some fluid too and I went in for monitoring and they scanned me immediately too, even at 8pm! I now have to do a kick chart every day. If it happens again I'll have to go and be monitired again. Roll on the end!!!
Bunny, gingernut how are you? Ginger did you get your tests back yet?
Good luck with your scan canadian mom!

gingernut · 21/06/2004 23:54

Yes, sorry Quacks, I posted on Nov thread and forgot to post on here too. They detected no antibodies and they want me to give another sample next week to check to see if I've made any in the intervening time (which would indicate a recent infection). So it wasn't the best news (which would have been that they'd found IgG which would indicate that I had the infection some time ago) but at least there's so sign as yet of a recent infection. It's all getting very long and drawn out though!

Sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare, but glad everything's OK. Have you had any more growth scans? Is everything OK there?

bunny2 · 22/06/2004 23:02

Quacks, that does sound very scarey, thank goodness you have a cooperative maternity unit. I have lost track of how many weeks you are, you cant have very long to go now though, the end is in sight!!!

Canadianmom, good luck with your scan.

I had a tiny bit of spotting this evening but I am not so worried about it now, I'm sure my cervix is just eroding itself away, as long as it lasts till Nov, I dont care what it does

Quackers · 22/06/2004 23:37

HIya, glad you're both ok!
Yes, I think you've just had a pgcy where this is going to happen alot. My friend said they found a small cyst and her spotting was coming from that and it was harmless. You have had loads of good scans and I'm really confident, you'll be fine now. How many weeks Bunny? Can't keep track either! I'm almost 35! Getting a bit scared now about the birth and what will happen etc... Never thought I'd get this far and really hope all goes well for the final furlong!

bunny2 · 23/06/2004 00:10

Quacks that is brilliant, 35 weeks!!!! I am 17 and 3 days (yes, still counting in days aswell). It has started to go quickly now I am in the 2nd trimester.

BigBird · 23/06/2004 12:23

Hi Hana, Bunny, Quacks !!!
Glad to read all the positive news. Quacks - I cannot believe you are 35 weeks. How exciting. I will be watching out for your birth announcement post. Good luck with it all. I'm 11 weeks now. Time is crawling...good to hear it'll speed up soon Bunny ! Take care everyone.

Bogwoppit · 23/06/2004 15:22

Quackers · 23/06/2004 19:40

Posted huge congrats to you Boggy!!! Delighted for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bunny, flippin heck, you;re motoring, although I bet it doesn;t feel that way! Bump showing yet?? Soon be getting some flutterings too, that will just do wonders for your confidence and I think the most magical thing is feeling movements from a living baby inside you for the first time, esp after having so much disappointment!!!!
BIGBIRD! Hiya chuck!!!!! Thanks! Will come on your thread (if I can find which one you are and say hello)!!

bunny2 · 23/06/2004 21:33

Boggy, I saw your announcement. CONGRATULATIONS again . I am so pleased for you.

Quacks, I am worrying about the lack of movement now. I am 17.4 and am sure I should have felt something by now. Also my bump doesnt seem as big as it was several weeks ago. I am probably worrying over nothing, it is just so bloody fraught, I cant believe it will all work out ok.

Quackers · 23/06/2004 23:37

Bunny, don;t worry. Firstly, I went to the Doc and said my bump didn't feel as big around 16 weeks and I was petrified it had gone, she felt it and said it had risen up further and I was totally feeling in the wrong place. The movements though should really only start to be felt even second time around about 18-20 weeks, so don;t be panicking yet. I know you know all this but when it's happening to you, there's no telling us is there! If you are worried AT ALL, go and ask your GP or mdiwife to have a quick listen for you. I used this several times till I could feel regualr movements and was confident enough. They really don;t mind you just asking for a quick listen and fortunately you're well far enough along now!!

bunny2 · 24/06/2004 00:15

Cheers Quacks, I feel better knowing you felt the same about your bump-size. I was expecting to feel movement early as this is #2. I see the mw on Wed but I am really hoping to feel something by then. We really are panic-merchants arent we on this thread!! I keep eating chocolate as I read somewhere the sugar encourages the baby to move - am working my way through a kilo of dairy milk but still nothing.
