Oops, it's been ages since I checked in here. So sorry to read about your DH Dozey, that must have been very shocking. Fingers crossed for the open prison.

I'm doing fine here, though it's an odd limbo period -- my first trimester symptoms are gone, I've no bump yet and haven't felt baby. If it weren't for my ginormoboobs I'd feel quite normal.

Updating the list:

bigboobsatlast · 05/12/2011 19:07

How did your weekend go Dozey? I know it must be so hard.

Had a day where I did not feel the urge to nap! amazing! Still feel quite energetic - lets hope this lasts. May be something to do with the fact that I slept all afternoon and my DD only woke up once last night (thats a VERY good night!).

Very much in mat. wear now. My Mum bought me loads of nice stuff (Peacocks) and my friend has given me loads. Very nice to have comfy clothes. Leggings all the way!!

karatekimmi · 05/12/2011 20:14

So glad it's only 9 work get ups til I break up for Christmas (teacher) have been decorating like crazy! Hoping that our lodgers move out this week!! (friends waiting for their house to be sorted)

I am overwhelmed with everything - what to buy, what to not buy, what we'll do when it comes out, how it'll get out (still hoping for a delivery by stork!) glad I'm not the only one!

It was my birthday yesterday, so I'll update the list at some point!

Hope you're all well.

AlexTasha · 05/12/2011 20:22

dozey that completely sucks. what a bummer, I really hope he gets out soon for you! :(

I have some really exciting news! I had my gender scan today and I am having a boy! We are SO excited, we were both hoping to have a boy first and I just feel so lucky. Was so nice to have another scan too and hear the heartbeat for the first time too. We had 2D and 4D but he was a bit little to see properly in 4D, still amazing though. He was using the placenta as a pillow. They did his measurement and his stomach is in the 99th percentile, hahaha, little fatty. He has a buddah belly thats for sure. So so over the moon.

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good. As for maternity clothes I just went to Topshop / mothercare / Mammas and Pappas, actually Mammas and Pappas probably do bigger sizes as the size 12 I ordered was like a size 20!

:) :) :)

Dozeyland · 05/12/2011 20:35

Hi all. Weekend was tough. I have my DP shaped pillow bundle on his side of the bed still and sleep with his jumper every night, as it has his lovely smell on. and its also the jumper that he wore when DD was born. so fond memories holding it close to me.

I've spoken to him briefly, limited calls as his credit is low. but he seems ok, but missing home. I cant visit until the 14th :(

MW 16week check today, and all is well, had bloods, heard strong HB and all is well. I just need to look into benefits for us now as we're a partnership but he's away and i dont work now and have no income and cant pay rent etc. have seen something on direct.gov but cant find it again. something like "benefits - if your partner goes to prison"?

DPs case may get more info as we've found out some disturbing news about the deceased family today (in our favour) but wont discuss until we know more. lets just say more info is being passed to DPs solicitor.

Hope you're all well

Dozeyland · 05/12/2011 20:40

checked my weight today too and i am still 59.7ks. havent put on anything. maybe from the stress... i'm smaller than i was before i had DD. :s
im sure a bump is due to bloom sooner or later.

Wommer · 05/12/2011 22:21

Ah Dozey that really is such a crappy situation. Fingers crossed that something happens to make it better for you. Certainly not surprised you're smaller than you were before!

bluecrane have had a weird backache off and on since about 8 weeks. It kind of feels like my coccyx has moved from where it should be?
This could (tmi alert!) be due to constipation though - almost feels like a pulled muscle... Which it could be, if you catch my drift!
Certainly hurts more after a trip to the loo.
Anyway that's about all my news... Had a bit of round ligament pain too
Xxx

Rugbylovingmum · 05/12/2011 23:27

Hi all,

Dozey - I'm so sorry, what a crappy outcome Sad. I really don't know what to say except take care of yourself and remember we are here if you need to rant/moan/offload or anything else away from your family.

AlexTasha - hurray for a great scan and a lovely little boy Grin. I'm really looking forward to finding out at the 20 week scan! Just 4 weeks to wait.

I had my 16 week appt today - my bp etc is fine and all my blood results came back okay (the ones I had taken in Asda when the midwife couldn't manage Grin). Then they listened to the hb, I had DD with me and she was a bit nervous so she finished up sitting on my legs on the bed so I could chat to her. She didn't like the doppler thingy so I told her it was listening to mummy's tummy and we made up silly things my belly was saying - DD decided it was "I want strawberries" so we'll see if DC2 is a strawberry fiend Wink. It was very sweet but afterwards I realised I hadn't really heard the hb although I know she said it was fine. It's a shame as it was lovely hearing DDs hb for the first time but it's still good to know beanie is well. I don't see the midwife again until the end of Feb as you get fewer appts the 2nd time around.

Enfyshedd · 06/12/2011 01:28

Evening everyone...

Sorry to hear about your DP Dozey. I know there's not much we can say, but as Rugby said above, we're all here for the rant/moan/offload.

I haven't slept properly for nearly 3 weeks now and it's driving me nuts. I've given up for now tonight - went to bed at 10, woke up at 11.10 and was sick, and for over an hour & a half I tried to get back to sleep, but I coughed every time I was just nodding off. Had high hopes for tonight after earlier going to my friend's funeral, but it wasn't to be with the start of a cold and the freezer breaking down today. Also not sure if the fish I cooked from the freezer probably wasn't a good idea - seemed fine when I ate it, but have been sick a couple of times since waking up and I'm not sure if it's the coughing or not... Gah!

Is there anything I can have for a tickly throat/cough? I need to sleep!!!

iowmum88 · 06/12/2011 07:52

Hi enfyshedd hope u managed to get some sleep in the end I have the same cough and it's horrible I am knocking back the lockets and fishermans friends as temporary relief, the only other thing really is regular cough mixture without anything that would actually help. So I have been to the GP and got antibiotics.
Everything hurts because of the coughing my back, chest, stomach and most of all my head!! So go see ur GP!
Feel sorry for little baby as at the scan she was getting me to cough to move the baby and it always jumped! The poor thing probably isn't getting any rest in there!!

hippieshake · 06/12/2011 09:25

I'm with you on the cough. Got some horrible cold/throat infection thing. Coughing all the time, woke up today feeling like I can't walk, and my tummy has swollen like crazy (which is does when I get poorly).

Trying to find someone to cover my shift in work, but thinking I might have to just go in and deal with it. I can't face serving customers all day haha.

x

karatekimmi · 06/12/2011 18:07

Had my mw appt today and we got to hear the heartbeat! It was magical! Have a tiny little bump, but nothing I can't hide,

Hippie look after yourself - work will cope without you, and you need to look after yourself even more so now!

VeronicaSpeedwell · 06/12/2011 18:12

Aww that's lovely karatekimmi. Mine's tomorrow and I'm hoping for this. Did you take your partner, then? DH asked if he should come and I didn't know what was the norm. Watching me hand over a sample and say I might have thrush didn't seem too exciting.

hippieshake · 06/12/2011 18:14

Thanks karatekimmi

Did you have to ask to hear the heartbeat? I have my appointment on the 13th, and I really want to hear it. I don't have a bump at all yet, so I don't feel pregnant, would be good to hear the heartbeat :)

Is everyone looking forward to Christmas? x

Cewafwb · 06/12/2011 18:29

dozey how are you today? I am so sorry to hear your news, what a huge shocker in every way. If he gets transfered to an open prison and is good does that mean he might be allowed out early or does the fact that your are having a baby in May help at all? Poor poor you. We are all thinking of you all the time and hope you are ok. Remember we are hear to rant to, or be sad to, or whatever you feel like! One of us is usually on line to chat.

I had 16 week appointment today, all good heartbeat and baby thumping away.

hippieshake 16 week appointments are generally a checkup, to check iron levels in wee etc and to hear heartbeat - supposed to be the first time you have heard it - although my sonographer was rather over excited and let me hear it at 12 week scan! I have a very active baby who was not so keen on the doppler and kept hitting it - makes a loud noise! So odd too, all my ds's kicked on the right side of me, so if I look down on the right and this one kicks on the left - feels so weird to have a back to front one! Makes a nice change though!

School breaks up, first one on Wed next week and then Fri for the older two - Christmas is then officially upon us! Thankfully have done all Christmas shopping so now just need to make a lot of food to put in the freezer for when inlaws descend on 28th! House still looks like it will never be finished, and happily I think I have sold all the puppies. One went last weekend, a very sad day, two on sat, on Mon and hopefully taking two to two different homes on sunday - then all gone! I can't say it will be a HUGE relief - with everything else going on - it will take a good hour off my morning routine and I might be allowed/able to stay in bed past six am! and not have to make sure I am here every lunch time - Ahhhh - dreamy!

Everyone ok?

hippieshake · 06/12/2011 19:41

Dozey I'm so sorry, I only just read your post. That's terrible news about your DH. I hope that they take into account your due date and release him for the birth.

All my thoughts are with you, make sure to look after yourself xx

Dozeyland · 06/12/2011 19:54

Thank you everyone.

Have a visit booked for next Wednesday to see dp, seems ages away though :(
it is so hard right now, but DD is keeping me busy, and i try not to keep getting upset around her. trying to keep busy with playgroups, shopping, crafts with DD, visiting family, going to book a couple of daytime panto's for her. not looking forward to Christmas at all. but to me i will make it special for DD but its just another day this year. I can't wait to start a fresh in 2012. hopefully a much better year. hopefully DPs nan is still with us (highly doubtful :( ) but I am praying and hoping.

hopefully DP will go to open prison soon, his job have said they will take him back to work (as they let them out to work but have a curfew at night) (very low-risk prisoners) hat calling him a prisoner because he doesnt deserve to be there.

so fingers crossed.

and fingers crossed the deceased son will contact dps solicitor and set the record straight. turns out the man who died, and the partner/wife ....they havent even been together for 12 years and the reason she LIED in court is for the insurance pay out. so the PATERNAL son wants to air this.

Beachcombergirl · 06/12/2011 20:32

Hi
I'm new to the site. I'm 15 weeks pregnant tomorrow with my first! DD is 30 May. Exciting but terrifying! I'll be 36 when the baby arrives so a big change ahead!

Wommer · 07/12/2011 08:58

Arrrgh!
The hunger has come back with a vengeance!!! Am 16+3 and have read that there's a growth spurt around now - literally spent all day yesterday starving and am starving now as well!
Anyone else got this?
Xx

Newtothisstuff · 07/12/2011 09:06

Hi everyone !
I'm new to the site.. I'm due %232 on the 19th May
All very exciting
Just moved to a new area with my new DH and start my new job Monday.. They don't know I'm pregnant and haven't a clue how I'm going to get away with hiding it.. Has anyone else ever been in the same situation ????

VeronicaSpeedwell · 07/12/2011 09:28

Welcome beachcombergirl and Newtothisstuff! I am also a first timer. On phone right now so hard to post, hope to be back later Xmas Smile.

karatekimmi · 07/12/2011 18:42

DH came with me, but first timer too so never sure what to expect! Was slightly shocked by cost cutting measures- only allowed one sample bottle! And I wasn't allowed to empty it! Slightly embarrassed to admit I forgot to take it out last night and found it while rummaging in my bag at work!! Blush

Suze77 · 07/12/2011 18:58

Thanks for the update, dozeyland. If they'll let him out to work, then hopefully they'll let him out to be at the birth - I have my fingers crossed for you there! It sounds like you're doing a really good job of holding it together for your dd. Remember to take care of yourself too. I haven't got much to say really _ I just wanted to thank you for the update and say that I'm thinking of you. xx
