p.s - did anyone watch OBEM last night? What was with the baby's head??!! I would be super freaked out if my baby had a cone head....it must have been normal though cos she wasn't phased at all!

alwaysanauntie · 16/02/2012 15:30

alextasha cone heads are quite normal, particularly if the baby takes a while coming through the birth canal, but agree it would be a bit freaky if you didn't know :o. I only know as a couple of my nephews & nieces have had pointy heads, the midwife last night did say it was due to baby turning as she came out & the skull plates relax back in a few days. I did blub majorly when her DH broke down on the phone though, glad noone but the dog saw me!

hippieshake · 16/02/2012 17:29

Hello everyone. I didn't watched OBEM last night, I saved it on my Virgin box for when DH gets back (he said I couldn't watch it without him.)

I keep forgetting to do my pelvic floor exercises. I must start doing them!

Had my GTT today, glad to say that I don't have diabetes, yaay! I would not have survived without chocolate.

How's everyone doing? Are some of you just creeping into the 3rd trimester now? It'll be time for a new thread then. How quickly has it gone?!

AlexTasha · 16/02/2012 17:44

always This is why I must watch that show.... babies come out purple and sometimes have cone heads - who knew!? Well, actually I knew they came out purple but DP said he would have fainted if he hadn't seen it on OBEM as he had no idea! haha

hippie Thats great news about your test - phew! You can't deprive yourself of chocolate! I'm 25 + 4 today so a week and a bit away from the 3rd, it's 27 weeks right? So exciting!!

Dozeyland · 16/02/2012 19:31

I think a new thread is in need, I can't access this on my phone anymore! :( and i'm also 27 weeks on Monday :) How far along is everyone now, have we updated our scans/genders/surprises? can't remember. :)

I watched OBEM and I do love it, but the editing is kind of iffy, I noticed someone on another thread pointed out a valuable point that they dont show the 3rd stage? and that the majority of women are not being encouraged to be active, and most are on their backs? maybe its just my thoughts. :) each to their own I guess.

Baby is lovely & active, Everyone says i'm carrying small again, i feel big though, maybe as i'm looking down, and also running around after DD, she's been fab bless her. Off to see DP on Saturday. so she'll have fun too. Got to HOPE & PRAY that he gets given his HDC date. application takes ten weeks to process :(

I'm going to be even more heartbroken if he's not coming home until October :( As if we're not suffering enough!

The son of the deceased has already written a letter to say how he wants DP released asap. he's been very helpful.

How are you all?

Sorry for MEMEME post

Dozeyland · 16/02/2012 19:32

P.s: shall I start a new thread, or....?

SirCharles · 16/02/2012 19:55

Please start a new thread dozey.... what shall we call it? any good titles out there amongst you creative ladies?! (I thought about it but did not know how to do it and make sure everyone knew where it was!!)

Today I met the doc who is going to look after me out here and sign me off to fly back to the UK at 33 weeks! He said all was well, no need to do a GTT, no need to worry about PE right now, Baby growing fine. I will see him again in 3 weeks and then again before I come back. Very reassuring! However when we looked at the measurements afterwards we realised B has doubled in size since our last scan on 12 Jan and is measuring nearly 2 weeks ahead of schedule - EEK! Anyway, we shall see if this growth continues and hope it does not become a huge baby (like my DBs, DH's 2 nephews and his recent half DB). With all this Celtic blood though I may be hoping for the moon on a stick :)

Hope everyone is keeping well and doing their pelvic floor work and looking after their backs.

May 2012 Bambino's - 3rd trimester - Less worrying, more nesting?!

haha

Dozeyland · 16/02/2012 20:00

May 2012 Bambino's - from Pump, to bump to pop!

alwaysanauntie · 17/02/2012 12:20

How about - from pump to bump to thump? :o

I did wonder about something to do with nests & breasts, but as you can tell I'm not the world's best at thinking up titles. Can I blame baby brain? :)

SirCharles · 17/02/2012 13:23

dozey I like your suggestions - lets go for it! Will you link back to this thread?

always - your suggestions made me laugh too - altho I think i marginally prefer "pop" to "bump"! and as for nests and breasts - do you know I was idly thinking something along those lines too but could not quite get there!!

My suggestions:
May 2012 Bambinos - the final countdown (3rd trimester)
May 2012 Bambinos - nesting? pass me the pancakes & mini eggs!

AlexTasha · 17/02/2012 17:50

May 2012 Bambinos - The happy before the nappy...?

hahaha I am having a baby-brain moment too! i'll try and think of more later :)

VeronicaSpeedwell · 17/02/2012 18:58

Oh, new title fun! Erm.... 'May 2012 Bambinos - Expanding until we contract'? Will have a think this evening!

I've just remembered that there are rowing races at Cambridge University called the 'May Bumps'. Too obscure to work into our title, but made me Grin.

iowmum88 · 17/02/2012 19:17

Less walking more waddling!

Not brilliant but it's true! Smile

Whats everyone's vote?!

PreciousPuddleduck · 17/02/2012 21:06

I like the pancakes & mini eggs one! I was measuring large for dates at last appt at MW so had follow up yesterday and growth seems to be normalising which is good. Making lots of progress with baby list and found some great bargains on line so feeling very positive this week!
I am almost 28 weeks and no BH's yet??

Dozeyland · 17/02/2012 21:19

Some people don't get them at all, My friend is 36weeks and hasnt had any?

I got them lots with DD, and get them lots now (nearly 27wks) I love them!

CrackersandCheese · 17/02/2012 21:32

I like them all but expanding until we contract gets my vote.x

OP posts:
alwaysanauntie · 18/02/2012 12:09

I go for expanding until we contract as well.

hippieshake congrats on the test results & Dozey hope you have a lovely visit with your DP today.

I'm in the middle of clearing out drawers & sorting storage downstairs before we tackle installing new ensuite (or at least thinking about it, I don't like to rush things!). Have a good weekend everyone!

SirCharles · 18/02/2012 15:59

i like them all!! expanding til we contract gets my vote tho.

How is everyone? 27 weeks today - woah!! things seem to go faster once you are counting down rather than up - non?!

We had a scan on Thurs and met our gynae doc out here. He was lovely and everything seems to be fine :)
when i checked the measurements afterwards though i was a bit shocked to discover B is measuring 1 or 2 weeks ahead of schedule - oh dear all that Celtic blood! I hope the growth trajectory slows down by the end..... B already weighs 1kg!!
Does anyone know how to treat piles whilst pregnant? seriously i forgot to mention it to the gynae on Thursday and dont really know what to do. they dont hurt or anything but they are still there!!!! if only i had a magic wand to wish them away with :(

On a different note - is anyone else getting pain in the coccyx? Mine has been really sore in the last 48 hours if i sit down for too long so just wondering if it is pregnancy related....

I have made progress on my to do list this week: i) shortlisted doulas to speak with, ii) chosen a hypnobirthing teacher & iii) decided which NCT course to book. DH has also booked us a Premier Economy flight back with BA, rather than normal economy, as I was nervous at taking a long haul flight in economy at 33 weeks. Phew - a little extra room will be good & you never know we may even get a further upgrade as he is an Exec Club member (fingers crossed!)

enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Wommer · 18/02/2012 19:20

sircharles re coccyx pain I haven't got this right now... But had it sooooooo bad up until about 20ish weeks. Felt almost like it had dislocated, particularly when standing up from sitting down and vice versa.
I wore a belly support for a couple of weeks, but it seemed to sort itself after a while.
I asked the mw about it, she said it was most likely to do with ligaments loosening and everything being less rigid than before.

Also had a habit of carrying a very heavy handbag on one shoulder, have swapped that for an oh so glamourous backpack when on way to and from work (with actual handbag inside).

Hope this helps
Xxx

Dozeyland · 18/02/2012 20:20

I have been experiencing pain around the coccyx area some days, probably due to lifting all the time. I just feel like my bones are weak at the mo, and my core, i know the muscles are adjusting, especially so soon after having DD 10/2011. But I sometimes feel like I can't get up, or it just twinges then locks!

I did the 10minute prenatal pilates dvd the other night. all sections, the only one i found difficult was the core(using tummy and back) I just felt weak! :(

Also dont do enough pelvic floor exercises.

I'm just pretty rubbish at the mo :(

Feel like i'm just "getting by" each day. DD lights up my life, but just me in myself i feel so down! heartache too. not great. still in limbo about DPs tag date. wont know for ages. so can't really make any kind of arrangements for the birth etc.

Ok I will start the new thread with the most popular name.. and link...

how are you all??

Got to add: MY NEIGHBOURS DOG IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL, BARKING SO LOUDLY EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, NOT IN THE DAY - AT NIGHT!!! GRRRRR

I love dogs, but why would people have a dog if they are just obvioiusly locking it outside at night????!!!!!!!! Angry
