wommer thats so exciting that your best mate said she was pregnant too! My twin sis just told me she is pregnant as well! Crazy, she is about 5 weeks behind me, due on the 3rd of July. So excited that we will have little cousins the same age!

hippieshake thanks! so excited for Monday, everyone is convinced that it is a boy due to a clairyovant telling my DP's dad's partner that a boy is coming into the family so guess we will wait and see!! That would be slightly weird if she got it right, but guess there is a 50/50 chance!!

:)

Dozeyland · 01/12/2011 10:31

Thanks for adding me, I have my 16 week appointment on Monday along with bloods (yuk) scan date is 7th jan 2012

so are we no longer writing on the old one??

iowmum88 · 01/12/2011 18:58

rugby my DS was 2 in august. Terrible 2s has hit here!! Tantrum about everything and he's very stubborn but I defo feel the sence of achievement when I don't give in and he gives up!!! He's been a bit behind on his speech which is half the problem but is getting there now and surprises us with new words everyday!! So not all bad!

bigboobsatlast · 01/12/2011 19:04

Hey ladies

Glad you're all well. Sorry I'm rubbish keeping in touch. So busy at work is hard fitting anything else in.

It seems I'm the eldest and on my first, but I do get a 16 week consultation with a consultant where they decide if I'm high risk or not. Have had it do easy thus far am sure I'll be fine.

Think belly seems to have suddenly started growing which is very exciting. Cannot wait to look and feel pregnant, bought maternity jeans! :)

Was in mothercare and felt completely overwhelmed by how much kit there is, and how much choice there is on everything! How on earth do you decide????

Anybody else feel overwhelmed and completely confused and scared they're doing it all wrong?

Na7asha · 03/12/2011 10:46

Ok, we've been living with my husbands parents so we can save for a house deposit, I know I'm far too old! Anyway, do you think you need a bath for toddlers or can just a shower work? I have no idea but it feels like you must have a bath tub, yes?

iowmum88 · 03/12/2011 11:00

na7asha my DS is 2 and doesn't like a shower, to me a bath is kind of necessary and seems a lot better for him as he loves a good soak and plays with his toys in the bath.

Cewafwb · 03/12/2011 17:28

most children hate showers till they are at least 3 plus - my number 3 is different as he was rather forced into it by lack of one during the building site. Loves it now but still prefers a bath! If you have the choice, definitely get a bath!

Na7asha you only need the basics - don't go mad as you will be given so much stuff, and if you need it you can always buy it afterwards. I have nothing, absolutely nothing as this wasn't supposed to happen, and we are going to cope with almost nothing, as I realise that there is so much rubbish, you just don't need! x

hippieshake · 03/12/2011 17:32

We've just had a new bathroom fitted with a bath (previously just had a shower) ready for the baby. We've been trying to conceive for a year, so we had plenty of time to decide a bath was best.

You can get lots of lovely baby baths though, just depends on how they are when they're toddlers I guess xx

Dozeyland · 03/12/2011 21:38

Hi all,

Terrible news, DP was sentenced to 20months in prison. It was the most traumatic day, and i'm very numb, in shock and heartbroken. I cried myself to sleep last night hugging his jumper with his smell on, and made a shape on his side of the bed with my pillows. ;-(

He will serve a maximum of 10months i think, and hopefullyget early release on top of that. but doubtful he will be here for the birth of DC2. ;-(

Hopefully he will be sent to an open prison soon, but who knows. its all very uncertain, waiting for a VO, or phone call.

truly heartbroken

Thanks for your wishes though

Suze77 · 03/12/2011 22:10

I'm so sorry to hear this. You will get through this, both of you. You have a lot of strength and it will get you through. The time will pass and he will be home with you again. Try to hold on to that light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope somehow he manages to be able to be at the birth, but if he isn't there in person, he will be there in spirit for the birth. It's one of the biggest moments, but it's still only one moment. He will be there for many many other moments and will share your children's growing up and maybe what you're going through will give you a heightened appreciation for being together that most people don't get, so, when he's back with you, you will treasure your time more than most people.

That said, it sucks. It sucks big time. And I'm so sorry you're going through it. ((hugs))

lobba · 03/12/2011 22:11

Massive hugs dozey I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. Remember to look after yourself xx

Na7asha · 04/12/2011 08:59

Thanks for the advice on baths, is what I suspected but hubby thinks I'm being dramatic!

Dozey, that's rubbish. Hope you're ok. X

SirCharles · 04/12/2011 09:39

Dozey that sucks. Have no idea what you are all going through. Keep your chin up and use your friends & family as much as you can as support. Hopefully he will be back home some time next year and will get permission to attend the birth too. Fingers crossed for you.

SirCharles · 04/12/2011 09:50

I went to High St Ken yesterday. Seraphine has a lovely website and I thought it a good place to go grab some basic maternity wear to get me through til Christmas at work and to pack for my 3 month trip away. I also need a dress for a black tie event in January when I will definitely not fit anything currently in my wardrobe.......

Why do they assume only skinny girls get pregnant?!

I am so disappointed. Worst shopping trip of my life. I am usually a size 14-16 but they had NOTHING on their rails except size 8 & 10 with a few 12s hanging about. Really crushed my confidence. No wonder most pregnant people rely on Internet shopping but I am fast running out of time to receive an order and send back whatever does not work.

I did fit on a tankini but you would have to have boobs like fried eggs to wear it. I want support goddamit.

Back to the drawing board.... I might brave Mothercare OXford Street today. Perhaps a less up market store will cater for the bigger boomed lady?!

FFS I am now an F cup. Depressingly figleaves maternity swimwear does not seem to go that big. How can this be?!

Ladies any tips on buying maternitybswimwear or basic staples would be much appreciated. (unless you are all skinny minies of course in which case you must have loads of choice so I do not want to hear it!)

Dozey, i'm so sorry to hear your news. Hope you're bearing up.

Otherwise, I am definitely developing a bump, but i also suspect I'm getting a little fat too, as I have stopped eating anything remotely healthy.. I think it's partly the cold weather, but I wish I could look at green salad without feeling queasy.

Cewafwb · 04/12/2011 12:34

SirCharles - bravissimo all they way for big boobs! and Pretty Pregnant is great for all sizes (I think) - I have got some great things from them, but I have always been a 10-12.

hippieshake · 04/12/2011 18:33

sircharles I'm struggling too, from a skinny minnie point of view. I've gone from a 32B to a 32DD alreeady, all my fav shops only stock 'bigger' cup sizes from a 34...gah!

xx

iowmum88 · 04/12/2011 20:59

sircharles I'm the same size as you and I have found some of the high street stores good like H&M for maternity clothes but best go online as always.
May just have to buy a bigger size instead of maternity things that's what I did with my 1st and it got me through.
I try telling myself that there are no bigger sizes because they have all been taken (I think it's true) online is usually the same so must be true!!
Hope you find some decent things soon.

BlueCrane · 05/12/2011 14:38

Hello! Just spotted the new thread and popping back on!

dozey so sorry to hear your news!

Definitely a small bump here...16w MW appointment next Thurs and back pain seems to have started! Been googling and wondering whether it's 'pelvic girdle pain' as am in agony trying to roll over in bed/sleep and pain just walking around as well at the moment...hoping not and that it's just temporary, don't really want to be dealing with this for the next 25 weeks!!! Alternatively wondering whether it could be linked to constipation which seems to have reappeared over the last few days...the joys eh?!

Will be back on for a proper catch up later but just updating my details...
