Can I join!! BFP this afternoon, EDD 24th May. Have a 19 month old DD. Congrats Dozey and PopEsMummy. Although second time around it is still so exciting.... forgotten all the dos and donts though so will have to read up on it all again!
How are you both feeling?

PopEsMummy · 14/09/2011 19:00

Haha bigboobs, I'm feeling like I need to do some heavy revision too!

Feeling a bit tired and very nauseous but nothing more than expected. I think I'm a little bit in shock, it took us a long time to get pregnant with DD and I thought it would be the same this time round. Here I am after only 4 months of trying with a BFP Shock.

FIL asked DH if it was planned. Nice!

How are you two feeling? xx

Dozeyland · 14/09/2011 20:27

Hello!!Grin

Bigboobs I feel the same too, "what can't i eat" and all that!

I am feeling fine, no symptoms, just tired really! i didn't have any symptoms with DD1, fell pregnant really quick with her, and we only said last month that we'd love another and its happened already!

But yeah other than tiredness, nothing to report - other than emotional about telling everyone (they'll be excited but i just get SO nervous) and about returning to work only to tell them i'm leaving again...Shock Hmm

when are you ringing up the drs for your booking in appt??

OP posts:
bigboobsatlast · 15/09/2011 07:43

I am feeling good at the mo. Tired - but then I always am! DH was surprised but v pleased, we only started trying for number 2 a couple of months ago so was a bit of a shock it happened so quickly.
I can't wait to tell people but just going to tell parents for now. Although telling work will not be so good - my manager will not be pleased! But there you go.

Going to call the Docs this morn and ask when they want to see me for a booking-in-appt. Presume it wont be for a while though as it is my second.

Oh, and good morning to you both!

Dozeyland · 15/09/2011 09:30

Good morning!

I just called, and asked and it'll be when I'm 9/10weeks, or not as its my second too?
I know I am dreading telling my work, I haven't even gone back from my maternity with dd yet,
I just don't know how I'm going to do it. :(

I need to not care really (I don't even enjoy the job), its just knowing I will have to
Be there facing them until I go on maternity again. I might take early maternity again, like 11weeks
Before EDD so I can spend time with DD and get prepared. I won't be going back there after most likely.

I am in the process of doing my own business, so that will hopefully kick off more and I can
Work around my children.

Sounds wierd saying "children" and not "child" lol

How are you going to tell your manager?

My manager will be fine, its just her boss (main woman) and the colleagues who can
Be quite two-faced. But dp said -" who cares, you're not going back after so just don't worry"
And the big boss would get funny as her DD works with me, and lost her baby at birth, and is TTC. So if I
Roll in there with "I'm pregnant".... Again... She'll flip :(

Hi, I am due 22 May with DC3 after a 14 year break! Still getting used to it as it does not feel real yet. I have been feeling sick in the mornings and evenings and getting very tired at work.

Dozeyland · 15/09/2011 10:53

Congratulations! :)

I wonder if I'll get sickness this time around?

How old are you ladies if you don't mind me asking ;)

OP posts:
bigboobsatlast · 15/09/2011 11:05

33!
just called docs and midwife will call me next week to make an appt - not till 10 weeks apparently but I can pick up some info before then if I want to apparently.

congrats Wants3 - 14 year break eh? at least no toddlers to run around after... although teenagers may be just as hard work!!

not going to tell work for a good while yet - will wait to 12 weeks if possible!

Wants3 · 15/09/2011 12:24

I am 38 so am expecting lots of raised eyebrows when we tell family etc but this baby was very much planned. It will almost be like having first baby again because we have got to start from scratch with all the equipment and maternity care has all changed( I only had 20 week scan)

Dozeyland · 15/09/2011 14:36

I'm 22...

I will wait until 12 weeks (another 8 long weeks) until we tell people. I am not sure when to tell my boss though :S

I think i will book a "booking in appt" soon, ready for when i'm like 9/10 weeks. (Seems like ages away!)

wants3 age is just a number :)

OP posts:
PopEsMummy · 15/09/2011 18:02

I'm 28.

I'm not at all concerned about telling my manager, everyone at works knows I would like another child so I can't see how it can be that much of a surprise Grin. Not sure when I'll tell them. I'm a nurse and as much as I'd like to wait until 12 weeks (if only because it's nice to have a little secret) it might be easier/safer to tell them sooner.

I rang and booked the booking appointment yesterday Blush. DH is in the forces and is going away when I'll be around 12 weeks, I want him to be able to come to the scan (he didn't get to come to any of them last time) so I'm going to fudge my dates a little bit to make sure I get one before he goes. It's a good job I rang them because the earliest appointment they had was for two weeks, they didn't ask how many weeks I was. Last time I had the booking appointment at 10 weeks and the midwife was a bit put out because it didn't give her long to get the scan organised. I'll need to see a consultant at the scan this time because I had a EMCS last time.

I'm beginning to realise how much different this will be from last time, when I could indulge my tiredness and laze around all day on my days off. Not so now with DD running around and needing entertaining.

DH is panicking about having to buying stuff. He's a worrier though and I'm sure it'll pass in a couple of weeks, if not he's away when I'm 12 weeks and not back until mid-march (I haven't worked out how many weeks I'll be then) so at least I wont have to listen to him all the time Grin. I don't think we'll have to buy all that much anyway Hmm. At least I can justify my collection of baby slings now Wink

Bigbum5 · 15/09/2011 19:44

I got my BFP last Thursday and the baby's due 17th May 2012. Morning sickness has kicked in (bleuch!) but I'm still grimly cheerful. Congratulations to everyone else who's expecting.

7lamby · 15/09/2011 19:54

Hello all, I am due 21st May with DC3! DS 1 is 6 in Oct and DS2 is 4 and has started school!

We are really excited, I've felt a little nauseous but have had lots of stomach cramps (more than I remember having before) worriedSad

I hope you are all feeling well.

Oh and I'm 31 and took 2 clomid pills and conceived Grin

NinkyNonker · 15/09/2011 20:03

Hello!

I got a surprise bfp a couple of weeks ago, so I think I'm around 7 wks or something.

I'm 30, with a 13 mo old dd.

I say surprise bfp as we only did the deed once last month embarrassingly and that was 3 days after my period, in a 31 day cycle! Bonkers. Am starting to show a little already. We're really pleased, we'd just decided to start trying. Now DH is after a bigger house!

Zaralaa · 16/09/2011 14:52

Hi all Smile
Just had confirmation of pregnancy. EDD 14th May 2012, first pregnancy after 12 miscarriages and being told I was infertile from Endometriosis.
Scared is the biggest understatement of the year!

Dozeyland · 16/09/2011 16:56

Zaralaa that is amazing! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I bet you are over the moon!

I've had such a hormonal day today, headache too! I felt the same with dd for the
First 8weeks, just tired and on + off headaches. Then it was a breeze after that.

Seems ages until scan time :(

smelmavulva · 17/09/2011 15:36

Hello everyone.

Can I join in please? Got a bfp today! a brother or sister to my 19 month old DS.
:0

bigboobsatlast · 17/09/2011 16:23

lots of us now!

pastafantastic · 17/09/2011 18:46

Hello, Lovely to hear of everyone's new pregnancies.

I'm 30 and have an 11 month old son and now pregnant (5 weeks) with number 2 - a planned and much wanted pregnancy. Like Zaralaa, I have severe endometriosis and told I was not likely to conceive naturally, yet here I am again! Congrats Zaralaa.

I'm nervous, uncertain and unsettled, despite being hugely happy. I think it's just that once you have read up a bit on pregnancy or gone through it, you see how delicate it is. Really over the moon, but I don't want to get too excited as it is really early days. I've got no idea if all my surgery scarring, plus a c-section last year has damaged things as it's been very painful (cramps) so far.

The opposite of my first, this pregnancy is very easygoing so far with no morning sickness....yet, but just the usual tiredness and stomach pains (7lamby...they make you nervous don't they!!).

It's great to read everyone else's posts. Hope you're all enjoying a lazy weekend with your feet up Grin.

sunnybobs · 17/09/2011 21:15

Hello
Can I tag along - just got a BFP this morning and think due date will be 26th May. Have 10.5 month DS who took over 3 years and 1 failed attempt at IVF to surprisingly conceive so to say we are flabbergasted at this one is an understatement!! Swinging between sheer excitement and fear at the loooong 9 months to go and its so early I'm almost scared to even post anything!

Dozeyland · 18/09/2011 10:17

Hello everyone! Getting a few members now! So lovely knowing we
Can talk about our experiences over the next 9 months! :)

I'm still finding it hard to process, I think I am 5 weeks tomorrow roughly...
We're not telling ANYONE until the scan, so we can surprise them all with a scan photo!
We thought it would a nice way to tell them!

So how is everyone feeling?

What is everyone's situations with work then?

OP posts:
pastafantastic · 18/09/2011 10:48

I work full time and went back after my son about 5 months ago. I'm feeling guilty, but trying to repeat over and over again that I
I'm well within my rights...I'm well within my rights.....

Anyone else?

WidgetWB · 18/09/2011 12:13

Not sure if this is the right place, but did test, and am due 27th May, or not. Already have 3 DS's, 7, 5, 3 and can't find a single reason to keep going with this one. Wasn't planned AT ALL although has been talked about in depth for a year or so with all negative conclusions. Big gap and we are almost out the other side now. I was planning on getting a job, etc etc. Life suddenly got easier, to go back in seems terrifying and not in a good way. Having said that, I am not sure I can do the deed. Have already lost twins 4 years ago, before DS3 and was never given time to get over it or deal with it. Not sure I can go through all that again either. So confused. Hubby was the one that made the decision on the twins - didn't know it was till miscarried one and had ectopic with the other, but he didn't let me deal with it at all, so although he is pretty damn sure this is the wrong thing to do, he is also refusing to make me go one way or the other as i blame him for the twins, and he doesn't want that to happen again! So broke, no chance of getting the boys out of the crappy state school they are in, but even less chance if we have yet another one. What a nightmare!
