Thanx CODwidow....what's a brisket? Smile

I feel like a fraud being on your thread but I know I am pg. Just did the test & guess what, I got another negative Angry

Let me tell you why I believe I am.

1.Had unprotected sex 2 nights running then realised I would ovulate 2 or 3 days later(sex was on Sat/Sun nights).

2.Woke up in the night on both Tues/Wed with indegestion & both those days I had constant headaches. I only ever get a headache the day before AF.

3.Continued to get headaches for next week on & off.

4.Last Thursday, 9dpo,I began to get cramping pains like when you're about to get your AF.Carried on over a couple of days, on & off. I only get pains on the day of AF. The ONLY time this has happened for few days leading up to AF was when I was pg with my 2nd dc. ( Only just read that the pains are actually implanting pains. Is that right, & if so does it take a certain amount of days to get a positive?)

5.Have been light headed, hungry for snax, starting to get tired in day I think, though could be getting mixed up with light headedness. Finding it harder than usually to push my 2yr old dc in pushchair uphill, really noticing a difference, not just general unfit.

6.AF didn't show yesterday,CD34. Usually around this time.

7.Today have started with the funny taste in my mouth too.

So there you go. Opinions please. I can't really make my body do all that because I'd like to be pg can I? I know those dates work with falling pg as I have 2 boys & my 3rd child is a girl & my friend told me the best way to conceive a girl is to have lots of sex up to OV but to stop about 3 days before. Would be great if I had another girl Grin

Sorry for long post. Need to finish my cuppa quickly & wake my girlie to do the school run. Will look forward to putting my feet up tonight & coming back on here (waves goodbye)

Hi Ladies, nice to meet you all. I'm Alison, I'm 29 and I have a 7yr old boy. Just decided to try a wait and see approach and after coming off the pill in May I have just had a bfp today! I used clearblue digital which says I conceived 2 - 3 weeks ago but judging from the date of my lmp I am now technically 4 weeks pregnant. Can't believe it!! I am a student nurse and will not be finished my training before baby comes but I will just take the 6 months maternity leave and continue with my degree after. I know my Mum will probably think I'm mad instead of waiting till after my degree is finished but I'm so happy. I decided that after I qualify as a nurse I'll be looking for a new job then hopefully starting a new job so there wasn't really a good time. I've been so broody and now I'm finally pregnant yay! I think I'll be due on May 26th. I suspected I was pregnant because for the last week I've had really sensitive tender breasts. That was a dead giveaway with pregnancy 1. Nice to meet you all! I'm looking forward to hearing everyones updates! Yay so excited!

leaky · 20/09/2011 18:28

Congrats alisonjayjay Smile so have you told your mum yet?

How does everyone else go manage with keeping a secret? I find it sooo hard. I've already told 3 friends literally when I ovulated! This pregnancy wasn't planned so it will be a shock for all our family & friends, especially as it means a fourth child, which that alone can get people wondering if I am sane. Actually they already know I'm not Grin. Plus I'm 42 so getting on a bit!

leaky · 20/09/2011 18:31

Ok my first bit didn't make sense Hmm first time I've sat down in 4 hrs. That's my excuse.

Pilchardnpoppy · 20/09/2011 19:01

Hi leaky, I had 4 negative pg tests which I did just before the after my period was due (24th august). I actually put one used test in my bag and forgot all about it, then happened to accidentally see it yesterday. There was only a very faint line in the positive box, so I did another test yesterday. It was a clear blue digital one. Have you tried one of those?

Does anyone know when you see your midwife for booking in? I can't remember since dd ( nearly 18 months).

Think I'm due 21st may x

NinkyNonker · 20/09/2011 19:01

I'm not late May as it turns out, looking like the 4th according Ro online calc. Can I stay?!

I feel like poo, like the worst, queasiest hangover ever. I never had this with dd! And tired too. Not told anyone yet as waiting to see family in person, looks like beg of Oct. And have booking in appt with midwife on the 5th...hope dd behaves!

In answer to work question I never went back, so no bosses bar me!

How is everyone?

Alisonjayjay · 20/09/2011 19:28

I've not told anyone yet! Not even my DP. He is still at work and I want to tell him in person. He is going to be shocked and so excited. I really want to tell my Mum but I may wait a few weeks if I can hold it in :) I am so full of excitement tonight after finding out this afternoon. It has been 7 years since I've done it so I'm forgetting a lot. When should I call to make midwife appointment?
Also I feel like now I know I really am pregnant I suddenly have more symptoms lol...maybe I was just trying to ignore them so as not to get my hopes up :)

leaky · 20/09/2011 19:35

I haven't tried CB yet. Have done 4 tesco tests & one superdrug today. If I sleep all night then I'll probably use last superdrug one tomorrow. Problem is I'm waking in the night & can't get back to sleep unless I go for a wee but like last night it meant it had only been 4hrs since last wee so think wee isn't concentrated enough at that point. If I do wake in night I'm going to try & wait til Thursday a.m to POAS.

Have been reading some old threads of lots of others in same position as me. Some did get AF but others were getting lots of negatives & still pregnant.

Spoke to a friend earlier who said it could be a phantom pg but I really don't believe my body could do that. She also said a friend kept getting negatives & was eventually sent for a scan & was 8-9 wks pg.

leaky · 20/09/2011 19:37

You are good Alison, I've just blurted it out on the phone to my dad & I haven't even got my BFP yet lol Grin. I did tell him that though.

CODwidow · 20/09/2011 20:11

I tested with an asda test last week and it was neg then did a cb that afternoon that was bfp so maybe try a cb if it's still bfn leaky

CODwidow · 20/09/2011 20:15

I know I should be thankful but getting really worried now that I have no sickness, I always get sickness like really bad!! I have plenty of other symptoms but just feels weird I guess that I'm not sick. Maybe after 4 ds's this ones a girl and so I'm carrying differently I don't know, just worried that something's not right I guess ??

Dozeyland · 20/09/2011 20:23

Of course you can stay Ninkynonker! Whats RO online? Blush

That must be so frustrating Leaky :( having the symptoms and the feeling and tests telling you otherwise, maybe do try a CB? or try and get asneaky scan from your GP by saying you have been having tummy troubles?

Got a positive result this morning! Already have a 12 mo dd. Didn't think it would happen this quickly! Really want to tell someone, but only 5 weeks so I daren't. Due 22nd May.

leaky · 20/09/2011 21:42

I know I still don't know, but, today I wore a different pair of jeans, more low cut, & tonight I've had to undo belt & top button! That's a BFP for me Grin. It will be 4th pregnancy but didn't think I'd expand that quickly. When I do get my BFP I'll bore you all with how I wouldn't be surprised if I was pg with twins because of feeling so different from ovulation GrinGrin

Dozeyland · 20/09/2011 21:45

My dp said he thinks we're having twins! crazy thought!! but amazing!

I don't know how anyone waits to tell, I've told mum & dad, best mate at work, one sister & mum told other sister by saying "she's been feeling sick recently, what do you think's wrong with her???" So unsubtle! Maybe it's coz it's my first?

CODwidow, i've not really had any sickness, very slight nausea for a few hours last week, but other than that just sore blobs, but even that's not much now, was worrying me as well... My booking in appt not til Oct 17 so scan prob 1-2 weeks later, but unless there's any bleeding am just going to persuade myself not to panic. I did look up foetal heart monitors, but too early for them to work!

MarKettle · 21/09/2011 11:52

We told my Mum and Dad, friends and in-laws at 5 weeks first time around, it seemed to make the pregnancy feel longer as it's all they wanted to talk about for 34 weeks! Obviously I enjoyed sharing it with them, but I was feeling so tired and short tempered in the early weeks that I couldn't cope with all that attention.

My Mum is going through a really difficult time at the moment, and I'd really like to share this news with her but I'm not sure if it'd make her feel better or if it would make her worse - she is such a worrier and she's just started treatment for depression. I have told my best friend, but she's gone off on holiday for a fortnight. Most looking forward to telling DS though, he loves babies and is always asking why he hasn't got a baby sister like his best friend from nursery Grin

MarKettle · 21/09/2011 11:57

Meant to add that I'm not getting sickness like I had last time, either. Torn between feeling worried or grateful Confused
I'm also not feeling as tired as I was at this stage last time, I remember wanting constant sleep. Perhaps i'm so accustomed to being tired now that it isn't an issue

CODwidow · 21/09/2011 12:11

I'm glad others are the same I just feel pretty good really, sore boobs and slight nausea every now and again but not overally tired and my mood is good too. Its Just after 4 pregnancies that were all the same feels very strange not to be stuck to the loo throwing up Grin

I've told my mum, sister, 2 friends and nan and really pleased everyone's so happy for us, was a bit worried they'd have something to say about 5 Blush

NinkyNonker · 21/09/2011 12:55

I don't know, some kind of typo, to maybe?

WidgetWB · 21/09/2011 14:52

Sore boob, just one, no metal taste, no sickness, nothing. Still don't know what to do. Am trying to not talk about it with DH as he really isn't keen, infact he really isn't keen, and I just have NO idea what I want. Congratulations to everyone.

alwaysanauntie · 21/09/2011 15:41

Widget my sister's also pg with no 4, she has 3 DS 7, 5 and 3 as well and could see the light at the end of the tunnel with all at nursery/school so total shock to her as she didn't want any more kids. her DH only works in summer and the 3 girls all share a room plus they were thinking about setting up a new business and she couldn't see another baby fitting into the plan, but after much though it she's decided to go ahead (assuming downs tests etc all clear).

Her DH said he'd go along with whatever decision she makes, but it was difficult nonetheless, and she's still not sure it's the right one... I hope you come to one you're happy with and DH supports it.
