morning ladies, i had my first cup of raspberry tea last night, will be building them up over the next few weeks to the most of 4 a day.

collie glad you got the sick note, now feet up and rest catch up on sleep.

izzy i think that's a normal wish for anyone never mind someone who's had a mc, suprised they were all shocked.

harassedandherbug · 16/09/2011 09:01

Morning!

I'm sooo tired again! I'd be looking forward to the weekend if it wasn't so flaming busy . Get my hair cut and highlighted tomorrow though Grin. Dd (5) was plaiting tangling it the other night and she said I've got black roots and silver bits....... love 5yr olds!

How are all the other tired/poorly ladies??

I really don't know what to do about work! I've got gp on Monday (but could cancel) and consultant on 27th, then mw on 28th. So........ do I see gp or wait for consultant? I think I need signing off, but if I am next week then work will be in deep doo doo as my assistant is off next week and they'll never cope without both of us. Work has been pretty awful to me, actually very, but I feel guilty!!! WWYD??

cep god raspberry leaf tea is gross Grin, don't envy you that!

Something I've forgotten to mention, is that once you get to term/overdue clary sage oil is very good. I totally forgot until talking to my friend last night who's 40+2 and been having on and off contractions for days. A couple of drops on a hankie and/or pillow, or several in the bath or a carrier oil (olive oil is fine, don't use baby oil) as a massage over bump and anywhere else you fancy. I'm a massage therapist and did aromatherapy btw, just don't do it as a job at the moment.

izzy I also said something similar at my yoga class and got shocked looks from the newbies who don't know my history. The only other lady that said same was my friend who had IVF. So now they think there's two weirdos in our class!

irene I was a bit like that re birth plan when I had dd. Ds1 was episiotomy/forceps & ds2 was induced after my waters broke and nothing happened. But I did a kind of birth plan...... and had a really good and quick for labour! Just g&a and in our mlu rather than the hospital. Totally different experience. Maybe just write a few brief points, just in case, or talk to dh if you think he'll speak up for you.

harassedandherbug · 16/09/2011 09:03

Meant to give you this link.

There's a bit about clary sage, but it's quite a useful site.

Who's going to start the new thread?? We're nearly there! How about daisy if she's still at home???!

LaraandLittleBean · 16/09/2011 15:28

Hi Ladies

Sorry have been quite quiet the past couple of days - got a stinking cold (am sure I got it from NCT) and been v busy...

Have missed too much for personals so will pop back later with a longer post...

Just had to tell you all my news cos otherwise I might just burst.

My work asked me if as of Monday (for the next five weeks) I can work from home for 4 days a week!!!!!! Its a combination of not having enough space for new starters (although they could make it if they really wanted to) and the fact that they are well aware the timing of my maternity leave means that the work they will be giving me until then doesn't require me to be in the office. Wooo hoooo - it's like birthday, Xmas and summer hols all at once with garden leave thrown in for good measure! I know I should be bitterly upset that I am clearly being sidelined but I don't care. All I can think about is the fact I won't have to go through the rubbish commute and long hours in the vile office. Instead it will be lunches with friends / sis, shopping and lots of daytime TV hard work in the comfort of home.

Plus, there was an issue because on top of my salary I get a guaranteed bonus (not huge but enough to feel the difference each month). Randomly, my manager mentioned the other day that they're checking the legal ins and outs of it re. maternity pay calculations. (I had assumed I would lose it as although I've had it for a few years, it isn't part of my contract and it was always specified that it would be reviewed on an annual basis). Anyways, they also confirmed today that I will get it incorporated into my maternity pay calculations. Double wooo hoooooo!

Back in a bit - leaves M&S Victoria Sponge for all.

cep · 16/09/2011 19:21

quiet today, hope you're all ok.

harrassed can't drink it without sugar.

lara sorry bout stinking cold. take care of yourself hopefully you'll get over it quickly.

Daisybell1 · 17/09/2011 09:12

Morning all!

Still here, no excitement yet....getting very anxious at times as she's just not moving (ok she is, but not without encouragement. Everyday we're on the "OK, you've had 5 moves so far, we're drinking this hot squash and if nothing happens we're going in". Of course it works, but its not good for my sanity. Am wondering if crying to the MW on monday will help bring things forward - I just want her out now for her safety and my sanity)

How are the sleepy people? I seem to have mastered the art of sleeping through again which is a bit Hmm, but very welcome!

I can safely say I've tested the curry approach - had to drink so much gavison/mucagel afterwards that it completely neutralised any effects of the chilli. Let me know what you'd like testing next? Confused

I love the whole 'natural birth' comments - I got a few Shock looks at my NCT class when people where musing on what happened before intervention and I announced "mums and babies died". Got me marked out by the others, particularly the smug pair (who eventually conceded that all may not go according to plan and so were off to rewrite their birth plan into a flow chart Hmm)

Velvet so are you fully signed off now?

Collie Bugger with the sick note fiasco Sad But you have the note now, right?

Harassed I'd go for the dr's note but that would just be my approach. Work will have to cope!

Woop Woop for Lara's bosses!

Going to have my hair done today, can't wait as am completely grey on top and haven't had it done for months weeks. Am happy to start a new thread, but not sure how... Do I just start it in pregnancy and try to link this one?

mamapower · 17/09/2011 09:51

daisy pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, sex, bouncing on ball, eve primrose oil capsule inserted as pessary (supposed to soften cervix), clarey sage oil.... that just about covers the list of old wives tales! Good luck

cep · 17/09/2011 10:37

have we heard from coconuts lately?

daisy long walks are supposed to be good as well. (not good in the rain though)

googietheegg · 17/09/2011 13:13

Hello all! Is this the best place for me? Blush I had a mmc in may and I'm now 5 weeks. It's my first.

Waves to all!!

DiffedAgainDachs · 17/09/2011 14:00

Welcome - everyone welcome here but most people join a thread called the freakout room, over on the conception boards, until they are a bit further along. Come and join us over there :) (I'm nearly 8 weeks, having lost twins at 20 weeks in May)

googietheegg · 17/09/2011 15:49

Thanks for the welcome - I'll hop over to the freakout room...sounds ideal at the mo! Good luck Diff

PinkFondantFancy · 17/09/2011 18:15

Hello all!! I have news! Mini pink is a little girl and she arrived last night! I was very lucky and had a beautiful straightforward home waterbirth, and she is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen! DH and I are both besotted.

Sorry for queue jumping daisy, I hope daisybean makes an appearance v v soon.

Hope coconuts is doing ok!

Lara that is the most fantastic news! Haha I can just about imagine the conversation "would you mind working from home" "hmmmm, I'm not sure, let me think about it, erm, oh go on then" Grin

Hi googie congratulations on your BFP!

harassed I'd keep the GP appt. Try not to feel guilty, you won't be signed off unless medically necessary and if you're signed off you're in no fit state for work.

I just wanted to say thanks so much to everyone for your friendship and support over the last few months. I appreciate it so much and plan to carry on loitering around here for a while, hope that's ok xx

Daisybell1 · 17/09/2011 18:24

OMG Pink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats amazing news, am soooooo happy for you!!!!!!!!!

Queue jumping is wonderful my dear Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 17/09/2011 18:36

Now who's next?! Grin

Velvetcu · 17/09/2011 19:23

woohoooooo Pink that is wonderful news Grin Grin

Daisy when will they do a sweep? What are you going to try next? I can understand you just wanting her here safely now! I am all signed off now so no more work for me til July (except I've offered to do admin to keep me entertained for the next few weeks!). I'm loving your NCT class comment :)

So do we have enough people around the top of the list for a baby a day for the next week?

Velvetcu · 17/09/2011 19:26

oh, also forgot to say it's 20% off at Toys R Us this weekend (so tomorrow then!) with this code 9908082819996
