Ha ha collie I wish I was only 30 yesterday but sadly am a few years past that...Smile

But no, I find it really hard to believe we've got to 30 weeks - how amazing is that?! Just hoping and praying the next 10 pass quickly and safely...(but not too quickly - still have nothing sorted out at home!)

Btw am still debating on names and took the bold step of venturing out of our cosy corner to post a thread in baby names about our girls' shortlist (currently between Catherine and Penelope, DH having vetoed Felicity). Please all of you feel free to share your opinion there or on here if you want!

Purpletoes · 18/09/2011 11:17

Just marking my spot! Almost 20 weeks will think about adding name soon.

CollieandPup · 18/09/2011 11:48

izzy I'm sadly passed 30 too.... Although only just! I know exactly how you feel. Some days I wish I could just magically be 40wks, but then I'm reminded about how much we've yet to do! I'm hoping our bathroom will be finished next weekend so at least that means we can the think about the nursery...

Oohhh I love baby name chat! Sad at DH vetoed felicity, I think that's loooovely!!!!

purple yay for almost 20wks! have you had your scan yet?

OP posts:
harassedandherbug · 18/09/2011 12:54

pink fabulous news!! Lots of congratulations!!!

Lets not talk about age

Izzy I love Penelope! I like Catherine too, but Kathleen is a bit of a family name here which I prefer. Felicity is brilliant! Love Flick as a nn.

We're "discussing" names..... We like Max at the moment, but in an ideal world I'd choose Arlo Lucas.

Lara you lucky thing! I hope you made them sweat a bit though Wink.

Collie you've mentioned everyone.... but yourself!!! How are you doing?? When does the sick note run out?

I've been and had my bp checked this morning as I've had the most awful headache since Friday. Spent yesterday afternoon asleep in bed, and it's still there today!!! Still haven't made a decision about docs, will see how I feel tomorrow.

Chocolate gives me heartburn I've just discovered. How wrong is that?!!

harassedandherbug · 18/09/2011 12:55

Ooh meant to say that Boots have the Avent microwave sterilise for half price at the moment. It was about £10!! Bargain!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 18/09/2011 14:44

Marking my place. izz I love both those names, what shortening are you thinking of for both? In case that sways my decision!

collie how are you feeling? Better for not being at work?

All ok here, ds is ill, has been vomiting all morning, so we are just curled up on the couch watching a film. Dp has gone to meet a friend and their newborn baby of which I am unbelievably jealous. I want newborn snuggles! And tge fact that they have met at the food festival is making me even more envious. Food and cuddles. Ah well, there will be more times.

harassed arlo lucas is a lush name!

milkyways · 18/09/2011 15:13

Hello all!! Finally have time to sit down for a bit of a catch up!

Pink Yay! Congratulations on your little girl! I am glad the birth went well and hope you are both doing well too!

daisy I hope your little one makes an arrival soon! Well at least you've got your hair done before the birth!

Had my midwife appointment last week. I was a bit worried as I feel I'm not eating anything - no appetite. Anyway, she weighed me and sure enough, I've only put on 500g in 9 weeks Hmm. So I went out and got crisps and biscuits and dry fruits and have been force feeding myself to snack! She felt my uterus and said it was at the right place above my belly button which is reassuring. Also have got to 24 weeks today!

collie I have been meaning to add myself to the list! I'll do it now!

Thanks for the new fred collie Smile. Ok, so we've tried curry, hilly walks with my sheepdog midwife, bouncing on ball, hot baths. And nothing. I don't even think she's dropped so sweep unlikely tomorrow Sad. Am also very jealous of snuggles, and those who are early so everything is a lovely surprise, rather that it hanging over like a sword. Sorry, am clearly very grumpy - we're off to the cinema and then for a spicy Nandos.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 18/09/2011 15:59

Big ((hug)) for daisy - iirc it's miserable at the end. Let's hope she doesn't keep you waiting much longer (and hang on to the fact that once she's safely here you'll forget all about these long extra days!) x

Thanks for name input - harassed I love your choices, although slightly prefer Max (have a fab younger cousin with this name). I agree with everyone Sad re dh's veto on Felicity but I do like our other possibles just as much so am happy to let it go. yrmotb personally I would probably try to keep to the full Catherine but I know dh would shorten and am happy to go with Kate or Katy as a nn if he wants...with Penelope, I don't know, the obvious one is Penny which is nice but I'm not wild about. I did wonder if we could get away to shortening to Poppy or is that a stretch too far?!

bigmacandhappymeal · 18/09/2011 16:08

Just marking my place and then going back to the old one to catch up... so fantastic about pink

Thanks for the new thread collie

bigmacandhappymeal · 18/09/2011 16:25

Oo blimey, there's so much to read..! Sounds as though there have been some very tired ladies and that the right decisions re taking time off work have been taken. Are you feeling better now? Really sorry to hear that so many are suffering with SPD/PGP - sheer misery

lara great news re work Envy. I'm dreading going back tomorrow - have to do a disciplinary which i'm trying not to get stressed about.

cep how are things at home now?

blackkat how are things with your dad? (very much hoping I have got the right person there and sincere apologies if I haven't)

daisy FX that nando's does the job - maybe you should go and move some prams around? Might get things moving Wink

harassed happy birthday for tomorrow! Wine Wine

milky I'm sure your bean will be leeching all the necessary nutrients from you and lovely to see you on the list proper. 24 weeks felt like a real milestone for me - how are you feeling now?

All is well with us . Had an absolutely lovely week off and I'm so sad it's over. Cornwall was just what the doctor ordered - lots of swimming, cream teas, strolls, beachcombing, snoozing and amazing fish and chips at Rick Steins chippy (well worth it despite the £). Although I'm still not sleeping and it seems that someone's head is now taking to poking me right in the dinner Shock at inopportune moments. Plenty of movement which is great - s/he is now making much stronger movements now and I am enthralled by the way my belly moves - it's like nessie is in there writhing around (which could be creepy!). Although no shagging to speak of, we just had the most lovely holiday and MrB has been amazing - he told me that I was the most beautiful pregnant woman he had ever seen. And he was sober. I did a cry.

Anyway, will see how hellish this week at work is and how i'm sleeping - I may join the duvet club if there is room for one more?

Southern ladies - are we meeting this Tuesday night?

afternoon ladies,

bigmac not too bad at the moment good days and bad days. but we do seem to be arguing a bit less which is great. I htink once i'm off i'll be less stressed as well which will help.

Pink such huge congratulations Grin Grin so lovely to hear your news, and so good to hear that you had the birth you wanted at home. I'm over the moon for you and DH. Really pleased that you are hanging around, and thank you too for all your advice and kind words over the last few months. XX

Daisy sorry that DB hasn't put in an appearance yet - I had a really good chat with the midwife on Thursday about how to engage a baby the right way bcs I am determined to have a home birth. She normally works in the natural birth centre, and her tips for head first engaging were to put a bag of frozen peas on the top of the bump and play music lower near the fanjo area. I couldn't stop laughing, Grin but she assured me this was a trick that worked in her experience. Worth a try? Looking forward to hearing news soon xx

Milkys and Laylas so good to see you on the list Smile

lara PMSL at your work "asking" if you'd mind about working at home...if only Smile

Izzy I like both names, sorry that's not much help....

bigmac glad you had a lovely break, DH's comment made me want to cry too

Collie thanks for new thread x

Been away at a wedding since Thursday and am absolutely knackered. Bump was public propery #1 - very annoying. So many people told me I looked about to drop. Had I not seen the midwife on Thursday before I went, and known I was measuring correctly for 28+3/4 then I'd've been a wibbling mess. However, the bump does look and feel enormous - can't believe there's another 10+ weeks to go....

to Cep, Harassed, YRMOTB and everyone else x

Just making my place for now. Will catch in a few days when we're back home again.

Morning all

Sorry for the grumpiness yesterday, am feeling much better today.

Happy birthday Harassed!

Welcome to Purple and Milky

Izzy I love Penelope! Catherine is nice and classic too, and boo for boycotted Felicity - that's lovely! Harassed Arlo and Max are both great, why would you feel you couldn't use Arlo?

Bless for your OH Bigmac, what a lovely thing to say! Good luck being back at work.

Blackkat people at weddings talk out of their arses when it comes to bump sizes and are therefore to be ignored at all times (maybe we should add this one to Owl's rules?). Glad you'd already had the reassurance from the MW and so were able to mentally put two fingers up to them!

Thank you for the tips for encouraging Madam to drop - I shall dig out the pram and strap a pack of frozen peas to my cleavage Grin. You'd have thought having to lift a 3.5 stone collie over a stile would have encouraged her, wouldn't you??? MW appointment at 11 this morning, will see if she'll do a sweep, and will generally wibble at her.

Saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy last night - absolutely amazing and gripping, but I need to see it again as PG brain couldn't always keep up Confused. Ended up at the local mexican rather than Nandos - much nicer Grin

Leaves bags of pick and mix out for everyone.

morning ladies

daisy glad you're feeling a bit better today. fx for mw today.

harassed hope your head is better today.

blackkat i hope the wedding wasn't too bad ignoring the touching and comments.

bigmacandhappymeal · 19/09/2011 09:30

daisy please, please, please take a photo Grin and let us know what fanjo music you played. Really want to see Tinker Tailor...

blackkat I second Daisy on people talking out of their arses. Like you my 28 week measurements were spot on but either side of the appointment I was either too small or about to drop depending on who I bumped into. I know what you mean about size and 10 weeks more to go - how much bigger can these things get?!

cep glad things are feeling a bit better at home... roll on ML

izzy I also love all the names chosen and know a particularly lovely Max. Penelope is a stunning name and if you start the ball rolling with Poppy, others will follow...
