Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

Lol! Just laughing at your food posts!!!!! What day's your weigh in deo?! We could share and motivate! Cn you looked lovely in those pics I saw before!!! And you were pregnant then! Don't worry about your weight! I think I am older then you both, I am 38, and had just over three stone to lose, now just over two!
Sorry haven't poster for a while, been at Physio but been having more pain on off though I do think it's improving but they think I might need referring to another Physio team so am a bit disillusioned again! It is better than it was but still nowhere near what it should be I feel.
On a positive ted slept 730-4 without a feed!!!!!! How are you two? X

Wow!!!! 7.30 - 4!!!! Amazing!!!!!!! Well done you!!!!

Coppernoddle · 28/02/2012 21:08

Talk about being passed from pillar to post!! At least there trying, and can admit when things aren't working! Unlike mine! I've been going for 6 months now every two weeks and every time she still asks which side it is! And, oooh it's still not moving is it! Aaaaahhhhh!!

Your slightly older than me yes cmm, I'm 31 in march! Thanks for the complement, I love my pics, I'm so proud of them! But when your not pregnant, you really see how much you've put on! I still get alot of pain with my pelvis! Everyday it aches and then get bouts of sheer stabbing pains! It's so depressing! Your doing so well in dropping your weight! I envy people who can diet! I'm soo serious when I say, not a chance in hell can I watch what I eat!!! I m healthy, it's just snacks! Still eat a lot of fruit though!

Well, Ewan's having a to do! Been to bed, been awake then till now crying! So milk, anbesol and calpol and back to bed zzzzzzzzzzx

Pelvis is a pain, well literally and annoyingly!!!! He's been worth it though!! Won't be having more though. Can't believe hes my last though as he's just fab! I daren't risk my pelvis after two pregs with spd and also it has taken so much longer to sort out this time, I wasn't having probs like this after first preg! Also my hubby is 50 this year! He doesn't seem it though!!!!!
Any results yet cn??? Think that's prob next step for us I guess :( I suppose I'm never going to be totally happy about it as I don't like thinking that he's my last but know im ok with it really!!!
His sleep is still loads better going off and evening but night backwards a little but still in the eright direction! Like my weight! Only 1/2 lb this week but still losing it I guess!!!! Will stay focused!!!! How's the shakes going deo?!!!
Got a girls night at someone's tomorrow so going to be extra good today! Xx

But also relief, that all we went through wasn't for nothing!! Although if they end up taking both of my ovaries, :) I won't mention that one to him, might be a bit sore!!!!! Grin

Ted you are the boy !! whoop the boy has done soooo well.

cmm u have a lovely weekend ahead. i hope u enjoy it.

got scales working , it says ive lost 1/2lb, omg, not amused, 5 days of 600 cals a day! this happened to me last time i did this diet. my body just holds on to everything & then it decides to let go. so feeling fed up today. tims at the pub tonight, wish i had a bar of choc to eat to cheer me up.

im still doing 1st feed booby, r u still feeding cmm? stanley nott hungry in mornings really. i was reading my gina book tonight & she says start cutting the 10pm feed if they are not hungry in the am. dont want to rock the sleeping thru the night feed though at mo. thinkng i might finish booby feeding altogether next week.

Cmm, you absolutely did not upset me! I see the funny side of things far too often! I've not stopped ripping my hubby all week! Bless him, although now he thinks he's invincible! New hair cut, new perfume, new sperm!! The worlds his oyster!!!! Grin

Well done to Stanley too for sleeping through, it seems that all the boys have done it in the same week!! Ewans done it for a week now too!! Loving it! We have dummy catastrophies but nothing major!

Sooooo looking forward to a little bit of sunshine and Alton towers! I cannot wait!!!! Deo, are we looking at end of April after the Easter hols?

deo357 · 05/03/2012 21:09

hi all,
been to visit my friend with new baby today, ahhh so sweet & seems tiny even though hes 6.7 and my babe was 4lb !!!!
lost 4lb on weigh in today, so thats week one done, not too bad i suppose .
hope u all had a good monday, ooh and stanley slept til 7 again !!!
ooh and stanley still not wanting brekky, today was first day of no booby ;-(((( only i was bothered he was fine, but he only had 2oz for brekky, ted or ewan do that???

Coppernoddle · 05/03/2012 22:24

Awww how sweet! Would love to have seen how small Stanley was! Bet he beat all of my girls dollies!! Did it make you broody?

Well done you with your weight! I guess the same is happening like last time! Keep persevering!!

And well done Stanley! Do you just feed him at 7pm then he goes till 7am? That's ace! Was going to ask you how you did it? Ewans day goes like this ; morning milk 7am, breaky at 8.30. Lunch at 12 then milk at 3pm. Dinner at 5 - 5.30 then milk before bed at 7pm. All 6oz. Then a 5oz top up at ten and that sees him through! He's slept through for over a week now but still have to get up on several accessions to put dummy in. When and how do I drop the 10pm top up without having to feed in the night again? Do I just decrease it slowly or is he about too young yet?

You must have mixed emotions with your feeding! It's always a heart ache deciding what's best, are you doing the right thing! Of which only you have the answer! I'm sure Stanley will still get just as much enjoyment with his bottle and mummy smiling down at him kissing his forehead as he did staring wide eyed at a booby!! Enjoy it, let the kids have a go and have a bottle of wine!! Wine
