Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

Hi there
Wow well done boys! That great news on their sleeping. Ted up more last night but the big focus is going to sleep without a bf! Have moved onto the chair at the side now rather than sat holding his hand right next to cot! Night six and i am messaging you whilst he is gurgling and trilling away at the side of me!!!!!
Cn hope hubby's sample is clear!!!! Keep thinking of sendings mine for it!
Deo pleased your friend is ok, having a section was a shock for me! Hadnt had it before and it was more painful than I thought afterwards, saying that I didn't use the morphine drip as was ok immediately after, it was the following days I took all drugs on offer!!!!!!
Ooops ted having a little winge! Will message later xxx

Yea my friend is married , 1st baby , think she's ok bit of a worrier ! But she has me !!!!

Good stuff with ted though cmm keep going !

Hope we all have good nights x

Coppernoddle · 24/02/2012 20:32

Good, glad she's got someone! Must be hard having a c section with no one!! Bless her, I guess she's worried as its her first! I absolutely bricked myself just before my section! To be honest,I didn't find that the painful bit, it was the spd after was excrutiating! I hardly felt that scar pain due to my hip pain so I could say really!
Fingers crossed he's clear, we find out next week the do another in 4 weeks!

I had my blood test today for my cyst that's still growing. There checking for cancerous levels which to be honest, I'm pretty chilled about, theres no way it'll be cancer! I'm too young! And I have 3 children to bring up! So will find out that next week too!

Well done cmm, keep up the good work! It doesn't take long before it makes a difference!

Deo, what a good friend you are, I'd feel confident with any of your advise!!

Good night everyone, sleep well babies!!

deo357 · 25/02/2012 14:21

oh good hes a jaffa !
goos u r chilled about tests, yes your far to busy for it to be anything dreadful !!!! im sure it will b fine

stanley was up at 4.15 but he isntreally hungry , but wont take dummy only wants boob ! think its nearly own room time to get past this.

we just booked our holiday last night, getting a canal boat for a week in august !!!! not my kind of holiday i love my sun as ive said before but im compromising ;-S not something i do well, but money insists !!!!!!

cmm · 25/02/2012 19:44

Oh boat hol sounds good never done anything like that! We are trying to get something sorted in the motorhome either in uk or on continent.
Night 6 wasn't too bad although he woke after one hour but then did 2.5 then 4 then 4, big improvement. Do think he's testing though unless teething. He has take 30 mins tonight and screamed continuous!!! Do you think he is testing? Gone back to sat at side patting but not lifting out or feeding, whereas had moved further away and he was ok for a night. Guess just got to stick to my plan!!!!! Getting more sleep than we used to!
Just about to get takeaway I think! X

If u want my opinion I wouldn't pat, u r starting another habit, just a little reassuring stroke, few pats, whatever he likes, & leave him, after 10/15 if still screaming do again etc. Don't do some kind of continuous action, it's like rocking, u r stuck doing it. What ever u do,stick with it & soon it will b the routine. Sometimes I put s down for naps & he just wiggled around then goes off , sometimes he cries, but as long as I do the same each time I'm happy he's ok .

deo357 · 25/02/2012 20:52

But then again u might not, which is fine :-))))))

cmm · 26/02/2012 01:03

Thanks deo can see where you're coming from and it did cross my mind like you say it's making sure I prevent another habit forming!
On a plus he has only just woken now so had whole evening!!!! X

How nice 4 u !! Stanley slept til 6 am today :-) fab !!

cmm · 26/02/2012 20:24

Wow that's fab!!!!!! Ted woke again at four then six but still an improvement.
Decided that I shouldnt have gone back on the sleep thing so decided now to almost start again and stick to it to the plan. Sat at side tonight again and will do that for three or four nights then when I move I won't go bsck to that even If he protests!!! He's gone off in fifteen mins tonight so that's good.
Got a few more freezer pots done for him! Enjoy making the food but its just making time!!!
Did you read the Amanada holden article - saw on Internet, reminded me of you, does it being memories back? We are sooo pleased you're both ok, it was a worrying time xxxx

Well done little Stanley!! Can't wait to give him a big squeeze soon x x

Oh my goodness, deo, just like you! So horrific and again sends shudders down my spine thinking about your post! So so sooooo glad you and Stanley are fine!
It's been nearly a year on here with this thread! Soooo much has happened! Glad to know you girls x x x

deo357 · 26/02/2012 21:45

Great news Cmm , u r making progress !!!!!
Just read the story , very similar to me , although mine was much worse , of course !!! No I had other problems with a massive blood clot & bladder in trauma etc etc , but didn't flat line !!!!!!!

We haven't met yet Cmm , but we will , hopefully soon , although I feel like I've know her for years as we r on fb so a face 2 a name is great ! I did some cooking for Stanley yest too but my freezer isn't big enough to do tons. I feel like I'm always cooking & I'm no nigella . My mega diet starts tomorrow , with shakes only for a month , it's hard core but I did it after ds5 and lost the 2 stone & I'm naturally slim so don't have a prob keeping it off , hope 2 do the same now , but my belly is sooo flabby & saggy I wonder if it will ever go back :-(

deo357 · 26/02/2012 21:51

& with my situation at stanleys birth I'm a know it all so knew exactly what was going on & how bad it all was , Cmm I think about it every single day! I think Amanda Holden should sit back & enjoy not rush back 2 work after all that .

Coppernoddle · 27/02/2012 14:25

Hahaha!! I keep saying to ed too, "you know my friend ........., well she said ........." think ed feels he knows you well too!! Can't wait to meet up! So looking forward to it! We do talk alot on fb, join us cmm!!

I kind of hoped you wouldn't read that story deo, just in case it was too raw for you! But I know you are one tough cookie girl!!

There's no way on this earth I would be able to stick to a shake diet! I like the idea of it, but I loooove my food too much! Im not a fatty cooker, tonight we have roast chicken which is roasted on a bed of leeks, beet root and parsnips with swede and potatoe mash! I'm a very healthy cook with heaps of veg! SO WHY AM I NOT LOOSING WEIGHT!!! I have about a stone I want to shed, but I'm worried once it's gone, my tummy will be even saggier!! Forget the extensions, mummys tummy tuck is much more important Grin

Roll on the summer!

deo357 · 27/02/2012 15:08

Mmmm don't talk about food please ! Sounds lovely , i cook quite healthy too , pizza once a week on swimming night &occasional burgers .then it's pasta , chicken , lamb chops , lasagne, tacos . Bit to carby probably . I always find I need to kick start weight loss . Can u do no carbs cn ? Or 1000 cal a day diet ?? I'm starving today , but it's all in the head , I was starving all am but I often don't eat til lunchtime !!! day one nearly done , I just need to put food off the radar

Coppernoddle · 27/02/2012 16:16

I tried to do no carbs, by 8.30 I was wrippng the spaghetti open for my bolognaise!! I eat very similar to you! I guess I just need to cut down the amount but if I don't eat enough I get really shakey and light headed! I am from a family of diabetics and there testing Harriet for it, low blood sugar so I guess it maybe something to do with that! Either way, I can't diet, any form of dieting at all! No will power!! I do excessive exercise!

deo357 · 27/02/2012 17:03

I used to get the shakes too . It's a tough one exercise only I suppose ! Been a hu gry day today Grin but I have 2 wardrobes of clothes waiting 4 me !!!

Coppernoddle · 27/02/2012 19:50

How do you get rid of the shakes then? Do you just have to sit it out for a few days? If I dieted, would they go?

deo357 · 28/02/2012 10:51

I don't know slowly reducing food intake I suppose ! Don't just do it ?? !!!
Stanley slept til I woke him
@ 7 !! Whoop whoop , although he is still having boob in am but doesn't seem that hungry ??? Weird

Coppernoddle · 28/02/2012 14:22

Yay!! Well done Stanley!!!!
Well, I hit the Trafford centre today in order to change Harriet's rupnzel dress, father Christmas sent a replacement on from the north pole!! Bloody elves, slacking these days on the stitching!! So, instead of grabbing a mcd's which I have to add, isn't my favourite, I had nando's instead, a chicken pitta with corn on the cob! But it still doesn't excuse the fact that breakfast was a mister white chocolate chip cookie as I was running out of the door! But just had an apple for a snack and was thinking about dinner!
No post today...........still waiting!!!

deo357 · 28/02/2012 15:22

U r talking about bloody food again GrinGrinGrin i come on here for distraction & u tell me yummy things u have eaten. My tummy is rumbling but this morning was better , wasn't hungry til lunch time

Coppernoddle · 28/02/2012 18:23

Hahahahaha!! I never even thought!!!!! Lol!! Grin

Now, let me tell you about what we had for tea!!! Grin Grin

Blood results came back from my test. 0-28 is the Range for 'safe' levels and I'm at 28. So at the top end. But I think people who have cancer, there usually at 50ish, so if it's dangerous (which I'm still quite calm on, don't think I am) it'll be in very early stages! Hopefully they'll operate and take my ovary and cyst out and find out for sure then! Until they operate, they can't tell for sure. Anyway, I can't be oing ith ll of that, I have a family to bing up!!

Not sure about eds test yet! That's the one I'm waiting for! When can we have unprotected sex and not have to buy over expensive latex free condoms!! Grin obviously more important right now!! Grin

Ewan slept through again last night!! That's 5 in a row! Still not counting my yummy chocolate chickens just yet though! Grin sorry, couldn't resist! Grin

Glad your not toooooo hungry today!!

Coppernoddle · 28/02/2012 18:24

(doing with all of that) was what it was supposed to say!!
