Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

Oh that's fantastic news!!!! You must be so relieved. It's great news!!!!
Yes still feeding ted, he's on three meals a day but think I might have stepped up too quick with more complex meals because he is getting really bad tummy ache in an evening. Think I might have to go back to more simple things for a while. Eg haven given him lentil dish for lunch and then say a lamb dish for dinner and even though small portions prob too much protein and fibre. Will see what hv says tomorrow. He takes about 5 ish feeds a day from me then one or so during the night. Once settled after tummy ache seems to do bit longer but then awake again threeish for hours! How about you sleep wise?! X

i was always told by gine, dont give meat at tea time only at lunchtime as it can bung up. stanley still not on food yet. he is getting up once in night can be 2,3,4,5 totally random what time, there is no ryme or reason to the time, when i think he's pigged all day he wakes early, weird !! gonna give him a bottle at tea time next, about 5pm as he feeds loads on and off between 5 & 6.30 as milk supply must be low. is teds sleeping better in night now ?

deo357 · 26/01/2012 21:48

i meant gina & also yes i am so thrilled for my boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cmm · 30/01/2012 13:31

Deo, yippppeeeeeeee!! Fantastic news! Brilliant! No more stress!!

Cmm, youvebeen very busy, what a social life! Also Ewan's the same, if ignite him big meals at night he gets tummy ache too!

I bought Ewan's high chair today, oh my goodness it was hard! Too many options!!

Complete and utter walking zombie, sooooo tired! Didn't get to bed till midnight last night after two flights and long airport waits, my mind just doesn't want to work!!! The girls and hubby and friend sets out tomorrow morning! They'll be back Thursday eve!

deo357 · 31/01/2012 15:17

Welcome home cn , glad all went well , did the girls & Ewan enjoy it ? We missed u ! Cmm the social butterfly !!!!

Coppernoddle · 31/01/2012 20:19

The girls loved it!! Ewan don't think he really knew what was happening to be honest! We took him sledging and his face was so straight it was hillarious! And then to the top of kaprun and he pretty much slept the whole time, I kept him very bundled up as it was -10!! But the girls, Harriet's amazing! She parallel skiing to the point now where she's nearly carving!! Emily is a pocket rocket and fearless! But crashes her brains out, it's dead funny! We had a scream!

Bet your so happy now you won your place! What a relief!

How you getting on with the feeding?

cmm · 03/02/2012 14:18

Coppernoddle · 04/02/2012 20:58

No idea? I have it bookmarked on my iPad so go straight to this. Haven't been on mums net since being pregnany! I really want to print out this whole thread just incase it goes!
We've had heaps of snow, have you?

cmm · 05/02/2012 08:42

Hi there
Yes snow here too, difficult to say how much as think some of it is drifting snow with the wind!!
I use mn on my iPhone rather than the website but there's a thing that says I'm on and it was the first time our thread had gone !!!
How's your pelvis? Was so pleased skiing was ok. I'm done Physio for a month now and definitely better although last couple of days not so great and leg really hurting and giving way when walking. Think stepped up walking too much. Try to do 30 min non stop walk a day then the 8 or so min walk to and from school! Haft exercises to do each day at home. Am hoping that I get more toned!
All in the house asleep except me this morning! Hubby was out last nught and in bed, little girl in bed and my sister stayed last night too. Ted asleep on sofa next to me!
Have lost about 10-11 lbs this month doing ww myself! Really pleased! Long way to go as need to lose another 2st 5lbs to be approx where I was pre ted!!!! At least it's starting to come off though. Got to stay focused!!
How's everyone your end? X

Coppernoddle · 05/02/2012 11:50

Wow, that's amazing how much you've lost! Well done!!!
The hips was better skiing than just being at home! Think the perpetuation of a ski exercise actually did it good! I do a heck of alot of walking, about an hour a day! But don't sit down at home either, that seems to hurt it more than anything else! I'm going to start exercising now but not running, finding other things to do like swimming, stick Ewan in a ring and push him along!
I have sooo much washing to do its unreal! It's everywhere! And then I have to start on the ski stuff! This part I hate!

deo357 · 05/02/2012 19:59

Hi girls ,

Mnet as normal 4 me Cmm

Wow well done on the weight loss , amazing , I'm jelous !!! I'm just embarking on 2 bottles a day been introducing gradually as boobs don't like cutting out these feeds !!! Stanley sleeping 10-4 since I've been giving him bottle then boob @ 6 as he had been waking at 2 again . So we will c .
Yep lots of snow here cn too . And I hate holiday washing . I have piles of washing clocking up can't keep up ! Had a really busy week with birthday lunches galore so thathasnt helped either . I'm doing sweet fa on the exercise front Sad I really should put it together !!!

Coppernoddle · 07/02/2012 09:24

Me too! Although skiing has given me a real boost to get fitter for summer! I've bought new underwear, very pretty, as boobs are now a c!! Whooohooo!! But nothing fitted, so it's made me want to look good naked again! But I keep saying, I'll start tomorrow, struggling to find the time to be honest!

Birthday lunches! I loooovely birthday lunches, and as many as you can get!!!

I'm going to hit boots today for sushi, I'm addicted to sushi!! I'm hoping it's not too unhealthy!

deo357 · 08/02/2012 14:36

lol u make me laugh, i havent looked good naked since my size 0 , pre kids, dd , pert knockers !!! i am a big fat heffer right now. im giving stanley 2 bottles now & started drinking skinny coffees !! slowly weaning myself off the fat !!! he slept from 10pm til 6am last night, 1st time !!!! wahoo
mmm sushi !!!!

cmm · 08/02/2012 18:56

Hi girls, just laughing at your threads!!!! I can't believe how much weight ive put on this time, people don't seem to think I am huge but I have just over two stone to shift yet! I know my clothes don't fit! Saying that squeezed into a dress I wore early preg tonight, am off to the theatre with my mum! One of the local schools do amazing productions each year and hire our theatre locally which is great. They've done les miserables, we will rock you, it honestly is amazing. They're doing the wedding singer tonight. Was in two minds whether to go as tired but it will be good for me! Had very quick bath all fed ted on boob now and them out. Nice to be dressed up! Might have cheeky glass of red when our although weigh in tomorrow at home so if so only small one!!!!
Glad your boys are doing well, that's great on sleep front deo!
You all set for half term ? X

OP posts:
deo357 · 08/02/2012 19:47

im 2.5 stone heavier still ;-((((( i need to exercise, there just isnt enoughhours in the day at the moment unless i go out about 8pm , was thinking about hiring a running machine, dont want to buy one as no room to keep it long term, but we r gonna empty the garage ready for a conversion so could put it in there ?? stanley got a cold poor thing, all snuffly & snotty
cant wait for 1/2 term although it would b nice to be a little warmer !!!

Coppernoddle · 09/02/2012 14:37

Oooh, hope you had fun cmm!! Theatre again! Lucky girl!
Deo, well done! Ewan also slept for the past two nights 10 - 6.30!! I changed his daily eating routine and it seemed to of worked! Only two night though, not getting my hopes up!

Well, we're at a party tomorrow night in clappen? London! Night off from the kids!!! New outfit and shoes!! Cannot wait! Deo if your close, come for a drink!
Whhoooo, it's party time! Time for mummy to get trollied and make a complete tit of herself Grin

OP posts:
Coppernoddle · 12/02/2012 20:22

Oh my goodness I had the best evening!!! It was sooooo funny, and we didn't get in till 4!!!!!!!! Which I almost feel gutted for wasting sleep time in a very posh hotel!!! But we had a scream! Londoners are so strange! I've never seen such a big bunch of lads hug and high five each other so much in my life!!!!! Very funny!!!
£55 in taxi's!!!!!! If I wasn't so scared of the outskirts, I would of walked!

How's Stanley today deo? Poor little thing! Hopefully your over the worst!

How was your weekend cmm? Do anything nice?

Oh, I did manage to avoid making a complete tit of myself! Just a b cup tit really!!!!!! But everyone else did the same! Grin

cmm · 13/02/2012 19:16

Hi cn sounds like you had a great night! So lovely to be back doing things like that I'm sure!
Deo - hoes Stanley? Hope he's ok. How are you too?
Teds sleeping is awful again, am shattered!!! X

OP posts:
Coppernoddle · 13/02/2012 21:07

Oh dear cmm, I do sympathise, it's taking me a long time to get over the other night and Ewan still feeding at 3, I'm pretty tired too! Hope half term is being good to you x
I looked after my friends kids too last night, so I had 5 in the house!!! But to be honest, I really enjoyed it! Kind of got a feel for a big family and was a nice feeling! But, I'll stick to my guns, 3 for me and hubby is enough!! Too late now anyway!

deo357 · 13/02/2012 21:50

cn u make me laugh !!!

shame cmm about the sleeping, time for a bit of tough love me thinks, its the only way, as long as he isnt sleeping too much in the day & he is having anough food in the day u just have to do sleep training, it is hard, but will be worth it in the end.
i have stinking cold, & stanley a bit better actually, still snotty & little cough but better.
been out shopping today with the boys £220 on trainers !!!!! OMG they have expensive taste !!! having a quieter day tomorrow having my hair coloured at home & swimming lessons.

Coppernoddle · 14/02/2012 07:47

My goodness, I bet school uniform time is expensive for you! You should of taken them to tkmax! Don't go swimming with freshly coloured hair, my friends went green!!! Have fun! X

Coppernoddle · 14/02/2012 07:48

Oooh, what colour? Or just a touch up?
