Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

Ha ha pmsl

Stanley is all better now he has a liitle sniffle but fine .

You r brave driving / flying alone , I'm sure it will b fine bet u r getting excited now .

Well Stanley has had a bottle 4 days at 10 am now 2oz, & up slowly with boob , tomorrow Is 1st day without boob at that feed:-s . I am sad , but would luv my confidence back with body/clothes. He took it well today . R u weaning cn . How's your weaning Cmm , has anyone got "the wean machine" ?

cmm · 16/01/2012 19:44

Hi girls
Deo that's great stanley is better. Are you putting him on a bottle? Wasn't sure if you're mixing? You've got to do what you feel best for you. Don't be hard on yourself. You've been through loads. I'd maybe get more sleep if he was on a bottle?! Just love bf so don't want to stop but do think he's a bit of a boob lover!!! Not offering it every time he wakes now. He did si five hours the other night such a difference! Back to normal again but he has cold again. Food is going well generally although not always taking loads. He eats three meals a day. He's had beef and sweet potato and then mash potato and carrot and yoghurt tonight!!
Cn skiing is so exciting, like deo said you're really brave travelling, admire you! What day do you go?
Did I say lost 2lb on ww? Just doing at home but making sure I eat regularly and added in points for feeding.
Wean machine sounds interesting, what's its main message? I still use ak recipes! X

Yes, very exited! My coats arrived and I'm going to get some salopettes tomorrow! Making lists all the time but the good thing is that I pack ed off, and if I've forgotten anything, I can bring it! Someone told me the royal family don't travel together, so that makes me feel happier Grin

Well done deo, sounds like you've got that one bottle nailed! Soon you can start to exercise properly ready for the summer!

Cmm! Fantastic he's sleeping again! Don't know how you do it! And wow to loosing that weight! I'm hoping I shed some pounds skiing!

I'm weaning Ewan! Have been since 4 months as doc said to calm his reflux down! He lives his food! He had lasagne last night, lamb pie the night before and heaps of other stuff., he does pig out and over fill himself so going to have to be careful! He's nearly on the move too! He's so wriggly on his tummy and shuffles around like an army boy! Don't want him to grow up :(

Physio today! Going to kick some ass in why this isn't getting any better and what do they think there playing at?

cmm · 17/01/2012 07:10

Meant to say cn, started Physio, they think my pelvis, si joints etc still all too unstable and have started exercises to strengthen all core muscles, Physio again today! Had to cut out one exercise do far as couldn't weight bear after it on leg! They said upto six months before fully right but if it doesn't get better with the exercises then they will X-ray. Good luck with yours too! Xxx

My physio is a total retard!!!!!
All she keeps saying is, no it doesn't seemed to have gotten any better! And there's nothing else we can do! But heres a belt for you to try, which is purely placebo effect but 's seem to think they know it all!! They walk around like the bloody sun shines out of there arses thinking there the highest of high when in actual fact, there's no evidence to it working anyway!!! I have enough of this, and not being able to go for a run and loose weight! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!
In my mind, if I exercise and tighten the muscles, it will pull my pelvis back into place! Not not excercis as you can stop it healing????? Does that not make sense?
Cmm, your physio seems to have a better idea than mine! Time for a second opinion!!!!

cmm · 17/01/2012 20:55

Oh no, she honestly doesnt seem helpful does she! The belts are useless. My Physio has started me on a programme of exercises, they are Pilates based and remind me of yoga exercises sometimes. Did yoga a while ago. Basically she makes me pull in pelvic floor, buttocks, stomach and hold and repeat and then do variations on that when lifting bottom off floor and very quick movements too. She had her hand near my tummy/hip do she could feel how it is, she could tell when muscles getting fatigued. She said that it's about strengthening the core muscles to relieve the pressure on the si joints. Could you ring the pelvic partnership and see if there's a Physio they recommend in your area? What day you go on hol? X

hi girls, blimin mumsnet, wrote my message & its gone !!!!!!!!!

cmm - great news with sleeping & your weight ! WEll done, shame about the pelvis, keep trogging on u will get there. Stanley having 1 bottle a day now, he takes it fine so just gonna stick with that.
The wean machine is a little hand held thing that u put bits of food in & squeeze & it mashes or purees it, not electric, looks good for if they have some of your food. it was on dragons den, think i might get one.
cn - how exciting , HOLIDAY !!!!! u will have a great time, but kick some ass with this physio thing. time to get it sorted xxx

Coppernoddle · 18/01/2012 20:04

I bought salopettes today!!! Even though there a large!! Never bought anything large in my life!! But have to say they are baggy! I like them baggy! And there illuminous yellow!!!! Whooohoooo!! To go with my insanely bright green coat!!! :) the girls will never mistake me or loose me!
Cmm, your physio sound ace!! Think I might print that off and say, what are you playing at??
Deo, regards to Ewan's food, I've never puréed it! I've mashed with a folk only and tonight he had spaghetti bolognaise mashed, with lumps and he's fine! Sometimes those pouches I use where you take them out and about are smoothe. He's a right little porker now!! I need updated Stanley pictures too!!

Oooh I can't wait!!! Not even packed yet but feel soooooo much happier now I have new gear that fits! Also, Harriet's birthday on Friday!, very exiting!!

Coppernoddle · 19/01/2012 06:51

Cn - oh zell! We loved it there too! The Lake was well frozen when we were there so we walked on it, obviously only after they've checked it of course! It's a lovely town and can see why you'd go with children as often other resorts we've been to haven't many shops but zell from what I remember has lots of little shops and a leisure centre, although we didn't use it as it was pre kids! Its so beautiful seeing the lake from the slopes isn't it! Have a fab time!!!!
Off to billy Connolly tonight! Looking fed to getting a bit made up for going out although poor ted Is full of cold and gammy eyes bless him. My parents are babysitting.
Just been to ballet and town and my little girls is now in the lounge playing shops! Xx
