Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

And have a nice time tonight I'm sure u will look stunning

Coppernoddle · 17/12/2011 09:14

At how lovely of that nice lady! Our nativity was ace!! Emily was the fastest donkey in town and Harriet was the star of the show! She re wrote the words to don't stop believing with nativity words and they all sang it at the end, and you could here Harriet's voice over all the rest with all the songs! And she never forgot any of her words, born to be on stage! Loved it! Glad you got to have a nice nativity and sounds like your going to have a fantastic holiday now you can do more stuff!
Can't wait for tonight! Once I get rid of the winklets, I can relax and get ready which I've not done for years!! Might have to drink some wine whilst getting ready! Spoilt!

deo357 · 17/12/2011 18:39

was all good here very relaxing xmas day then lots of visitors every since very tired now & ready for stanley to go thru the night, but he isnt !!! sleeping til 4 ish still. tipping a little towards bottles now, i will weigh it up over next few weeks, love the feeding but want to get him on bottle 4 6 months old so i can drop feeds slowly. hows yours going ?

Coppernoddle · 04/01/2012 09:51

Happy new year everybody!!! Glad you both had a lovely time! I had a lovely Christmas day too! Watching the girlies and Ewan open there pressies was priceless! Ewan LOVES wrapping paper!!!
We've had a manic week and not managed to get on here much! We've had an awful d&v bug and Ewan ending up in hospital! Ewan's still not well a week later bless him so back at the docs today! Again!
A brilliant way to start a healthy new year!! :)
So, onwards and upwards, and I'm so glad we've had each other! It's been a whirlwind year to say the least, and you girls are brilliant!!

Wine here's to another good year together!

deo357 · 04/01/2012 16:43

Wine kerrching to that one !

cmm · 04/01/2012 19:36

Cheers to you both too! Smile

Oh bless Ewan, remember my little girl being admitted with a vomiting bug when she was about 8 months, study for overnight though. Awful when they're poorly like that.

We're ok. Ted still not sleeping great really. Still reliant on the boob. Going to have to try and work at it again but just going with it at the moment. He's in his own room and does more than often sleep 2-3 hours in evening once down, then between 12-4 isn't great, up loads but then 4-8 can be better with sometimes only one wake up. He is on three lots of food a day and still wants loads of milk at night. Once he's on more sizeable portions will know he doesn't need the milk do guess might work on sorting out night feeds then?! Think he's still teething too! He won't take a bottle dummy or cup yet! Have I work on it as it at the theatre in a couple of weeks!!!!!

How are your little ones? Xx

OP posts:
Coppernoddle · 06/01/2012 12:09

Oh gosh cmm, you must be nackerd! Have you looked into silent reflux? My friends little boy was the same and was at vengeance at night time, as soon as he'd lie down! They put him on imeprisol and hey presto! Zzzzzzz!!
The theatre! Loooovely! What are you going to see? You might find he's better taking a bottle if someone else gives it to him! And if he screams for one evening, he screams for one evening!! It's not the end of the world! But it Wil make all the difference to you and your sanity!!

Ewan's still not good! We got admitted again to hospital two nights again as couldn't keep down his temp! At 2.30am I decided to feed him as he was really sleepy, the nurse checked his temp and it was 40! She threw wet towels at him and rammed mess down his neck! He was baking hot!!! He then screamed for two hours, until his temp came down! Poor little mite! His temps not too bad now as he's constantly dosed up! But has a massive rash all over him, so back to the docs again at 5! Hopefully it's coming out now, and the worst is over! What a nasty virus!!

Well, hubby is car shopping tonight!! :( we have to get rid of the pickup! I love our pickup!!! It's black and shiny and looks so mean! And you can fit everything in there! So instead, we have to get a boring car!!!!!!!!! I'm in moarning!

Gosh the house looks bare! But soo much easier to clean now all the cards have gone!! Was flicking through the next catalogue last night at the home and living part wanting to start decorating! I'm so not liking the house at the mo! We've been here 5 years now and still haven't done the extensions! Hubby says, why decorate before! Wait till the building work is done! I understand that but who has artex on their walls, seriously!! The kids keep grating their faces!!
Looking forward to the summer now! Although sooo exited to go skiing in two weeks! Can't wait to show Ewan the snow! Not that he'll remember!

deo357 · 06/01/2012 15:19

U r obviously v determined 2 feed Cmm , that is up sooo much In The night I would crack up !
So what car did he get cn ???
Stanley 10.3 yest !! So all good with him nights are ok woke at 4.30 lest night so that's fine , but munchy in the day .
Glad it's the weekend I'm tired !!!
I bet you'll have fun skiing
I want a holiday , don't think we will get a nice sunny one though this year , too skint , we will c , I need a new car instead x

Coppernoddle · 06/01/2012 17:56

Wow! Little porker!! I bet he had a growth spurt then, now back to normal you can walk round without matchsticks in your eyelids!!
Cmm, I would of cracked by now!! Your soooo determined!!well done girl!
Hubby is looking at a BMW estate car, all singing all dancing fandango sort of thing!!! Not my cup of tea to say the least! He assure me though we can get iPad docks for the back seat for the girls! So we have to get a new iPad, there my terms!!
I cant wait to go skiing! I don't think I'll be able to ski much but anythings better than nothing! I much prefer skiing to hot holidays! Although really enjoyed turkey when we went the year before last, just before getting preggers! Was lovely! Drive deo! Go euro camp south of France and hire a tent! There ace! And cheap!
Cmm, are you planning on any trips for the summer?

cmm · 07/01/2012 19:16

Have to say I am finding it hard! Am very tired and sometimes feeling a bit dizzy at the moment had it before and they think tiredness. Saying that he had temp again last night and fed loads uptil midnight and just couldn't face a night like it so ended up bringing him in to my bed whilst hubby slept in little girls as she was at my sisters for sleepover! Anyway he fell asleep and I wasn't cuddling him at all. He then slept for 6.5 hours! Shows he can do it!!!' whether it was knowing i was there and my milk smell? Or the mattress?! Anyway when he's better and on more solids I might have to tackle and look at my sleep books again!
Cn we have a BMW tourer! Have to say I want keen but they are handy!!!! Re holidays agree on the camping front. We've got the motorhome now and there are lovely sites. We will prob try to get away in that in the summer maybe abroad.
Skiing! Loved skiing! Haven't been since my five year old was born! Will have to ask you got tips! Our 12 year old godson just gone to Switzerland today!!!!
How is the weaving going for you two? Ted is up and down, giving three lots a day but tiny amounts really and he is fussy!!!! Just keep persevering!! Done him in the ak lovely lentils today!!!
We're off to see billy Connolly at the theatre! Hubby's Xmas present! X

deo357 · 08/01/2012 16:41

Sorry girls what u need 2 learn about me is I don't camp ! I'm far too posh !!!! No way going in shared loos or toilets.
We had a BMW tourer when we had our first they r handy and reliable.

Haven't weaned yet s only 19 weeks. Just goes 2 show ted can do it, I have 2 admit s goes in his crib then once he wakes up 4 food he stays with me in my bed, so can b anytime from 4 works fine 4 us

Billy conolly brilliant!

cmm · 08/01/2012 19:51

Lol!!!! Have to say now we have the motorhome I use our shower and toilet all the time and don't use the sites! There are amazing places in France that you can hire!!! My friend has done house exchanges! They've had amazing trips, Italy, Canada. Not sure I could but they have loved it and it's worked well.
Oh bless Stanley was forgetting he's only 19 weeks!!!! Xx

OP posts:
Coppernoddle · 08/01/2012 20:09

Billy connolly, brilliant! You'll have a scream!!!

And 6 1/2 hours! Wow!! I'd be doing that to catch up on some zzzzzzzzz! Get him not the habit of sleeping that long!

Deo! You make me laugh!!! Campings ace! The kids love it!! We've got our own bathroom in our caravan! And an oven and hob! Massive double bed and other beds, it's luxuary! Grin

Well, we're not getting a BMW, we're getting a mercedes e class estate! Possible! But his mind changes like the bloody wind! So until its on our drive, I'll let you know!

Ref, weaning, my little boy eats for England! He's got such an appetite, the nurses at the hospital asked me if I was over feeding him as he's nearly 20lb!! But I'm not! But he'll eat just about anything I give him! Little porker!

Skiing! You should go again cmm, it's the best feeling in the world! I can't wait! The girls started at 2 1/2 and 3 and now we go all over the mountain with them and they love it!!! We're taking someone this time to nanny for us so I can ski half days and she'll ski the other half day! I'm very worried on whether my hip will be upto it! I can only try!
Sooooooo depressed though! I put on all my pairs of salopettes and not one of them fit! So I have to go and buy some new ones! I'm gutted!! Feel like a proper lard arse and am hating my body now! So plump, everywhere! Although hubby is loving it! But I can't stop eating! Especially when I'm tired, I eat more! And with the past two weeks of Ewan and illness, foods the only thing to keep me awake!
Vicious circle!! And pissed I can't run! I'd be thin again by now! Poo!!

Coppernoddle · 08/01/2012 20:11

I have noooo idea how many weeks Ewan is! I know he reached 20 and has stayed there for some time now!!

cmm · 08/01/2012 23:05

Oh I know cn we love our moho as we call it, we have kingsize and double bed and then can have extra double on dinette if we want. It too has hob, grill, fridge freezer! We have our duvets and in the bathroom still got all my skin care and makeup!!
Know what you mean re weight. My ski jacket won't fit!! Guess it was a small! Have Physio first app on Tuesday so will let you know. Good and bad days with it really. Have started ww on my own, ordered a pack from eBay! Never done before but friends have. Added in allowances for bf, upped the points as even though he's feeding on solids he is still taking lots of milk from me!!!!! Just trying to make sure don't over eat! Didn't think I did but when you're really watching everything guess you do more than you think. Will see. Am hungry in the night!!!! Like you, not used to being bigger although you looked great on those preg pics cn! I always had pear shape but tiny top half and now boobs and arms are big!!! Would like to get back to shape for his first birthday!!! If I can get Physio to help could also get exercising again although not sure when get time!!! Used to cycle a lot! When you skiing again?
Deo were your other children better sleepers than Stanley? X

i could probably do a mhome, but we dont have one & they r mega money to hire. the whole point of not going away is we r skint so cant do that either . thing may pick up by then & we could do a last min job.

ive had all my others thru the night 8/10 weeks, but they have always had bottles & boob

dont tell me about fat im now 2.5 stone above normal sooooooooooooo depressed & its my birthday soon & im not going out whilst fat. intresting about ww though & allowances for bf im going look into it , but im starving al the time too.

s had last jabs today bless him x

Coppernoddle · 10/01/2012 16:04

Oh poor Stanley, I hate jabs!!!
I don't know if I could diet! I love the idea of being thinner, buti can't diet to save my life! It makes me worse!

Skiing in a week and a half!!K cannot wait!! Had my boots on today, my new coat is coming by the end of the week and I'm going at the weekend to try on salopettes! Was going to have a go at snowboarding too, think it might be better for my hip! I'll have a taster session this weekend at the chill factor e! Need to start packing! Packing for skiing with kids and hubby is a nightmare!!

Cmm, your motor home sounds lovely! I do the same, keep it stocked up on everything so all we need to take is clothes for the week! Love it!!

Deo, I'm not even going to attempt to weigh myself! Make me really depressed! Hubby's soooo nice too! He says he's loving my shapely body at the moment! I think it's just because my boobs are bigger to be honest! Although the bugger keeps grabbing my jelly belly saying "mmmmmm boobies!!!" such a kind gentleman!!
Why don't you do something else for your birthday deo? Do something active with the family and just enjoy a bottle of wine in the eve with hubby!

deo357 · 11/01/2012 19:56
