Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

I know it's cold up there though , tims nan from Buxton used to call me London sparrow !! ( Buckinghamshire really !) was using baby bjorn carrier , Stanley was in flees snow suit . Facing in? He has a cold today :-( 8lb 2oz though !!! Whoop whoop

Are you not using your moby wrap? There brilliant! You can took arms legs and head in! And miles more comfortable!! What hold are you using?
Yes, my mum is from Warwickshire and even with that little difference they say it's alot colder! Use your wrap, seriously, you can cover his face without it pressing on his face, it won't suffercate him!!

i used it on firework night & struggled to get him in in his fleece snowsuit. maybe im doing it wrong now hes bigger . what hold shall i do, ill practice

I'll explain!
Fold the wrap in half,
Place the middle of the wrap (tag to top) over your tummy (not too low on hips)
Cross over the ends behind you and throw themback over your shoulders (make sure there not twisted)
Then, get little Stanley and put him on your chest with his head under your chin, not too low but comfortable under your chin as when there in it will sink a little.
Then put his legs under the tummy price holding onto him (sometimes I find it easier to rest him on my leg at this point)
Then, with the two ends over your shoulders, wrap them over his back, and under each leg one at a time.
The take ends again round back, then to front and tie off!

This is the easiest hold I've found!

Oh, and the you tuck their head in sideways to the upper wrap to support their head, out of wind!

Ok I have put wrap in wash yest will try it when dry , so there is fabric between his legs too ?

Yes, when you've got the lengths over your shoulders coming to the front, hold stan, put him under the belly bit then take each length and criss cross them over his back nice and tight, under the legs and round the back, cross them, bring them round the front and tie. Try a teddy first!

Hi girls so sorry havent been on much! So much going on, getting over the cold a bit more now, busy with mil and kids! Ted was getting a bit better and getting evening back and sleeping better well waking every 3 hours which I can cope with! Anyway, all pear shaped last night so guess going to have to try to go bsck to the plan again! It's just having the energy to do it! Bought my weaning things so going to prepare for that! Good! Busy, same as you, we've all been poorly, again!!! Girls have got d&v and harriets health has deteriorated! She has addisons disease same as me and she nearly at crisis point so manic tests and trip to hospital! Stress!!! But her top tooth fell out and now she knows she gets cash she's almost ripped out number two top tooth!!! Ewan's piling on the weight! He's just hit 17lb and is such a little chunky monkey!! We're having some more pics done so you'll get to see him soon! I'm manic in the middle of making nativity costumes which to be honest is taking my mind off it but boy, got so much sewing to do!!! The hips are so sore, and physio said to stop running! Proper crap!!! I sat now scoffing dinner, so hungry and not sat down all day! Well, hope ted gets back to his routine soonm and hope your mil is ok? Is she getting home help now?

God cn not more illness poor Harriet . Hi Cmm hope u ok & ted is back in routine again they do have off days ! All ok her lounge finished more or less phew , so been spending the week cleaning the carnage & shopping. Ds5 got bad cough but apart from that all well . Had night out shopping in Westfield with hubby & Stanley last night which was nice . Friends all at Xmas do tonight but I decided I didn't want to give s a bottle & I just haven't time to express so gonna miss it . We are going to winter wonderland in Hyde park tomorrow hope it lives up to expectations !!! Winter wonderland! How did it go? Went to our school Christmas fair yesturday and Emily came running upto me with a big smile on her face saying "mummy, father Christmas is here, and he's only £1.50"!!!! I could of cried! I never let them see me pay for fc, it's totally wrong! So we told them he wasn't the real one and were going to see the real one and his reindeer next weekend! Felt so deflated and robbed froma cheap Santa! I guess there's no escaping it though! Got hubbies Christmas do the weekend before Christmas and one minute I'm all exited and the next I'm not going! My body feels flabby and old and I have no dress! Then I'm all for going shopping and getting a very light spray tan and my hair done, and then I'm not going again! Umpf!! We have all children looked after for the whole night too so I guess I better make an effort! Think I'm letting my emotions and our health stress get the better of me! Feel so emotional all the time now, can anything else possible go wrong! But Ewan and the girls and absolutely keeping me going, there amazing!
Well, I'm having an iSight of what your life might be like deo tonight, I'm looking after two more children tonight as our friends have gone away for the night, my goodness bath time was fun! Two five year olds, a four year old, a two year old and a four month old!! Can I go to bed now!!!!!

Hi girls just checking in with you all how's it going? Busy here as usual school things and feeding!!!! Pelvis still rubbish on off and cold makes worse so referred to muscular skeletal clinic for assessment as fed up of not being completely right ! Are you still like that cn? Deo how are you ? Better get going feeding ted and then have some girls coming later for mulled wine and curry !!!!! Cabt go out evenings much as ted still won't take bottle must try again!!! Yes my pelvis is so sore! Never heard of that clinic! Wonder if I should go there too! Don't think my physio is very good to be honest! The cold makes it ache like hell but the any exercise just makes it agonising! Surely it doesn't take ths long? What does a m s clinic do?

Think the clinic does assessment of overall posture walking etc in relation to your problem then refers to the right area for further help, will let you know. Yes cold makes mine hurt, seems to make it go down legs aswell, does yours? Been to Xmas Market today and walked a lot and then sat in car and it's so sore again, very annoying isn't it!!!! X

i have actually posted about 3 times then when i comeback on its gone !! so frustrating !! hope u are all ok. we are all so busy at mo, but thats good i suppose !!mmm mulled wine cmm, my fav. I think u should go CN to get pelvis all checked. Health wise im ok after all that !!!!! but sooo fat. my belly is disgusting . i really want to get losing the weight but i really want to keep feeding stanley so trying to forget about it as best i can . lounge more or less done now phew, just waiting for stair carpet to be sone by my hubby now . stanley got a cold this week, bless, and had a shitty week as head at the school asked me to leave the xmas play as i had stanley, how out of order is that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had a row with him & left. so the next day i went but had to leave S with my friend which i would never have done out of choice, he doesnt leave my side. very annoyed. i understand toddlers not going in but a babies. i know him quite well so was pretty outraged and told him so. xmas tree up tomorrow. been missing u guys this week xx

And regards to the fat thing....I feel your pain!! I'm having a hell of a time to find a Christmas do dress! 3 hours at the Trafford centre trying on dresses and not one looked good!! HOW CAN YOU BE A SIZE 10 AND STILL LOOK CRAP!!!!! I'm now on m&s website looking for body shapers and just bought boob tape! This is going to take a miracle!
You feed Stanley as long as you can! For the sake of a couple of glasses of wine you get the pleasure of more months of your gorgeous little one and your last! I sooooooooo wish I could of fed Ewan for longer than a month! I really miss it and still get upset over it! What don't you have a drink and just give one bottle so at least you can enjoy yourself at Christmas?
I'm now being referred for all my problems with my cyst and suspected endemetriosis which will possible have to operate, my mum had a hysterectomy with it too which I can't bear the thought of, deo it must be a mind field, and with my pelvis, I'm a walking disaster! But by hook or by crook I'm wearing heals this Christmas!

Oh no not bothered about drinking actually . Just the fatness , nothing to wear no point buying anything it all looks awful . Gonna keep going though as long as he is content . I understand about the dress , hard hey , been there many times after babies . Would b awful to have another op though 4 u ??? Things will be better next year xxx

Oh I know, I feel the same, usual 10/12 and now 14-16 more towards the latter. Feel so disgusting sometimes but try to keep thinking how lucky I am with the children. Always try to wear nice makeup and accessorise in the hope it will distract from size!!!!! I am also usually do small in boob dept! Gone from 32/34 a/b to 36/38 dd!!!!!! No wonder no tops fit!!!!! Had a free personal shopper in debenhams the offer day though which was great, got two tops that I am pleased with.

Up and down at night he does great just getting up at 2.30 then 7 am and last 2 night he's been up at 2 then 4 . It will b the nights that make me give up bf !!!!! What about your nights ??

My nights are 7, 10,3 and 7 but all are very quick feeds so not bothered really!
I really hope they can sort this without n op! I'm going skiing in jan and really worried about my pelvis! I'll just have to take it easy! We're taking a nanny with us (sounds so posh doesn't it :) ) so will only ski either or mornings or afternoons, take it in turns!
I shouldn't complain about the size thing, I'm usually a 10 and am now a 10/12 but my shape has completely changed this time, so things that did look good, don't! So need to start looking at other styles!
Eds Christmas do on sat! Hair cut tonight, Toni & guy for style sat, very light spray tan on friday and on a hunt for spanks! Going to m&s tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Brilliant!!!!!!!! I wrote that on Monday and couldn't get it to go on, so I copied it and had a complete mere with mums et, think I was signed in as someone else!! Then eventually got back in, pasted, and hey presto!!! Good old iPad! Technology, what a wonderful thing!!

My charlies one was lovely he did a solo song !!! Some lovely lady heard what happened did me a DVD too how kind .
