Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

Morning all!
Oh cmm, very much understood about feeling down! You went through so much stress! And not recovering quickly is so frustrating it takes it's toll quickly! You also have the stress of going from one child to two which really makes you feel guilty! I remember feeling awful and got post natal depression from that and a few other things, but it's hard! Didn't have that this time even though the pregnancy was very stressful, you can see past splitting your love. The most important thing to do is get out and about, lunch with the girls, strolls in the afternoon etc! Don't stay in, chatting to others really helps! Having a laugh a day definitely works wonders! I went for about three months without a smile after dd2! Really hope you feel better soon cmm, don't let it get on top of you honey x x x your a very strong person x x

Deo, sounds like our a woman on a mission!spent so long missing your family that your making the most and getting back into the swing of things! Brilliant! But don't rush things! You don't want it to bite you in the bum!x x

Bigmacandhappy meal, thanks, and you've really made me want a maccy d's!!! Mmmmmmmmmm! Never going to loose this baby weight!

Tried my pre pregnancy clothes on the other day and sat there and cried! Couldn't even get my jeans past my hips! Dam you hollister for being such small sizes! I'm still wearing maternity! So depressing! I was in my clothes after two weeks after the girls, I guess having c section takes a lot longer! I'm still in big knickers!!!!! :(

Got my scan through, 4th of October!!! There obviously in no rush to sort me out!

Well, on a positive note, today I'm going to be a pudding and eat chocolate! The weather is too poo to be healthy! I'll start dieting tomorrow Grin

deo357 · 20/09/2011 12:00

well CN - i am wearing a thong ! arse cheeks bigger but binned those big pants as no more p days for me !!!! i too am fatty , i never loose it that quick, but i hate this wobbly bit !!

Cmm - im sure its hard, im not there yet, but the frustration of the muddle of everything, and the control freak in me has raaa'd me up several times since ive been home. i doubt i will get over everyone being in m house & going through my stuff very easily. CN is right, get out there, chat, be distracted, it all helps. u will make it thru this ok, u love ted & he loves u, he is a special boy, & u have a story to tell the grandchildren !!!

bad night wth stanley last night, 1st one, he was up at 12.30 , 1.30 , 2.30 & 4.30 think he had a tummy ache as he was squealing & didnt really want to feed much ?? he is quite constipated hasnt been 4 2 days again, he keeps doing this, any tips ? midwife coming today so hope he's gained. had lots of visitors yest ?!?! & 2 more today. phew . have a good day xxx

deo357 · 20/09/2011 12:00

hi big mac Smile

Coppernoddle · 20/09/2011 13:27

A THONG!!!!! Ssshhhhh, don't tell my husband! It'll give him all sorts of ideas!!! Grin
I still can't stand anything touching my scar, it's still a little sore! Makes me queasy just thinking about it! Must say though, I'm a French knickers girl!! :)

As for the poo, ewan was exactly the same! He goes for two or three days without poo'ing and it really gets on his t$*#s!! It's starting to settle a little bit now, I gave him boiled water and that seemed to help best! I did try lactulose but that sent him screaming! Don't try that! Especially as stanley's stomach will be very immature! It'll settle down, just give it time! Baby yoga on the legs, get them moving. Warm bath or warm water bottle on the tummy seemed to soothe ewan. Leaving his nappy off for a while seemed to get his legs kicking and poo to follow. Or you could get a wipe, pop him on your knee, pull his legs up and just massage the bottom, like cats would do, that might get him going!

Oh deo, mob wrap! Did you find the newborn hold where you yes it as a sling? It'll be in your book. Also I found as ewan got bigger and out of the sling, use the kangaroo hold where hold him and put it on rather than put it on and then put him in as you could get the tightness just right. You fold in half and put it over his back on your chest, then bring the ends over you shoulders and cross and tie rather than the other way of crossing under the back support and having to put it on first. Much easier this way and ewan finds it more comfortable. Keep practising, it takes a few goes before it works!

Cmm, bet this rubbish weathers not helping anything!!! Time is a healer, your doing a fantastic job! Keep talking about it, it will really help! Were here to help! We've been here all the way through this with you and were not going anywhere soon! Sending big hugs today x x x

Coppernoddle · 20/09/2011 13:28

Oh, I resisted maccy d's!!! I ate left overs from last night tea of vegetable pasta sauce where I managed to squeeze eight vegetables in it!
But did have a little chocolate!!! :)

deo357 · 20/09/2011 15:38

yea tried all those obvious things for pooing nothing yet. midwife came 4lb 3oz yay, put on 2oz !! & she isnt worried about pooing so we r good. im signed off !! so stanley to go now xx

Coppernoddle · 20/09/2011 16:07

Brilliant! Well done!! When will they sign Stanley off? I guess he has to reach 36 weeks'ish?
And glad he's put some more weight on! He's getting some lovely milk!!
I think they have to not have poo'd for 6-10 days before they say there constipated! Think it's normal for it to be a couple of days! Be patient, it'll come soon, he's still working things out!

deo357 · 21/09/2011 14:39

We have poo! He is so clever!!!! Been 2 shopping centre today whoop , was great even if it was rushed to get back to pick no 5 up! And of course fitted in a Starbucks . Heaven. It's all coming together!

Coppernoddle · 21/09/2011 21:20

Grin lol deo, you make me laugh! What a clever boy!!

Lucky you for a shopping trip! And a star bucks!!

You sound so chirpy! Good on you!

I had physio today! Hoping she'd say your doing really well, but no! My right side of my whole pelvis is completely on the piss!! You gave me a good twist and I have exercises to do as on of my back joints doesnt even work! And to top it off, since having the physio, it feels more painful! Can I not be twisted and comfortable? And then she did loads of checks on my pelvic floor muscles due to the prolapse I had at the beginning of my pregnancy where me little man nearly fell out! Before having the pp problems! They pocked him back up and I was on bed rest for two months until he grew! So we had this conversation (which was quite lengthy) while she had her finger inside my bits feeling around!! Very weird!!!! On a positive note, I think my cyst has gone! And hopefully soon I'll be able to cough without wetting!, (sorry :( )
So glad it's my last!! Can't wait for the morning! 7.50am hubby goes to docs to have his snip appointment!, Grin

What a manic day! Hubby again in London today, right near you again deo. So doing dinner, bath and bedtime a complete nightmare! Ewan's not slept all day, very contented, just awake! So trying to do jobs was a no go! Ran around like a blue arced fly to get sterilising, uniforms, lunches, bottles, washing and dishwasher done for tomorrow! Feel like super woman! Don't know how you do it deo! What was the hardest? Going from one to two? Two to three (and so on :) ) I thought going from one to two was bad! (more of a guilt thing really) but bloody hell, two to three has to be military!!!

Cmm, how are you today! I've been worrying about you! It's so hard going through what you've been through and not having the emotions to follow! It's inevitable! I really hope your getting through this! Talking to people about it! Having a bloody good cry everyday helps!! Chin up honey, it will pass! It won't be like this for long, you just have to be positive and keep yourself busy and occupied! Happy thoughts honey always do the trick!!

Sighning off x x see you at 4am!! Xx

deo357 · 22/09/2011 14:44

hmmm fingered by a physio, good day then !!!!!!!! te he , sorry couldnt resist !!! poor u with the pelvis & everything still. ouch. just as well its the last hey.

Coppernoddle · 22/09/2011 19:59

Glad you got to use the wrap! Is it getting easier ? did you try the sling hold?
Best get shopping! 9 year olds are very demanding and very specific!! Hope you get everything!!

cmm · 23/09/2011 13:27

Hi there girls, so sorry for not being on here for a few days, not like me! Just had a busy week and also was really down at beginning of the week. Seem better today. So stupid as feel really content with the children etc... Hv and dr have advised to take more time out on my own as basically since pelvis better been out having coffee with lots of friends, at baby groups and then the usual school run!! I seem to be worse when I've seem people, almost Luke struggling to be more sociable after all that confinement!! Not like me as I have lots of friends and always something on, love being busy. Think I am physically and emotionally tired. Had cold and got uti now! Didn't mention before as wasn't relevant but I was really ill as a teenager, in a wheelchair and laid up for about three years. Had to learn to walk again. Am fully recovered from that now (was m.e.) and ao grateful I've recovered to be able to have normal life, holidays, marriage and children! Think though that this has weakened me and brought back bad memories too. Anyway, will be ok and getting support from friends and hv and you girls! My hv is the one who had pp too so understands. On a positive note though, I am walking more. Live near the sea so just sat having a coffee looking over the sea now! Nice to be out!! Strangely almost feel better on my own!
Cn so sorry about your physio thing! Gosh you've really been through it too. Wonder if the Bowen would help like I had? I still stiffen up badly parts of each day and sacro joints not great but can move so much better in general. Must think about moby but have I left too late? How long can you use them? Someone at school mentioned might lend me one to try!

Deo you are amazing girl! You sound like you're doing so well and emotionally so strong. Guess that's why I feel that I should be better than this as your pp experience was much worse! Really admire your strength.so pleased Stanley is doing well too!!! I can't believe how much they grow!!!!! Ted seems to be smiling lots now, very cute!!
Might be going to see friends this weekend in motorhome, they've moved about an hour away and our little girls love meeting up and playing. Will see how things are. If not got another two social events but think I'd rather watch xfactor!!!! Am I sad?!?!

How are you girls today?! Thanks for listening and your support in previous texts.

You busy this weekend? X

Coppernoddle · 24/09/2011 13:35

Oh dear cmm, no wonder your feeling like you too! Too many bad memories! On a positive side then your walking well and still recovering so hopefully you'll make a full recovery! Mine is really playing me up! Since I had the physio on it, it's been very painful! Keep doing my exercises and got physio again soon! Hope your starting to feel a little better, I think this will come and go to be honest! Time is a healer, it won't last long!! Hope your having a lovely weekend, and taking time out for yourself! Go and have a massage or something!

How are you getting on deo? Manic as always!!!

Coppernoddle · 26/09/2011 14:16

How is everyone? Hope all is well?

deo357 · 26/09/2011 17:49

hi girls,,

not surprised u r feeling weak cnn, bad memories im sure, but on the bright side, u are passed the worst now and on the road to recovery. i know what u mean about being on your own, i feel like that and am seeing so many people as they r all desperate to c baby, then im taking time out to be with myself !!

ive had a busy weekend as ds3 birthday, so we all went to westfield to the lego shop as that was his request then out for lunch, it was amazing, although we were like a freak show with everyone looking with all our boys always quite amusing !!! in the pm mil came over, mine is away and they stayed & stayed, i was beside myself wanting them to bog off!!! im really struggling with the fact that everyone has been in my house doing things while i have been gone and it really really is winding me up. mil got ds5 ready for bed without asking, she would never have done thisbefore baby i can tell u, omg it is beyond a joke. had a ding ding with dh as he didnt get my point after they left. i wonder if im ever gonna get past this. she needs to back off big time !!! or sparks will fly. so sat night i was v v tired. but better now, have my lulls about lunch time but cant get any sleep with ds5 round chatting away !!! apart from that all ok, back on school run today which was fine but slow, forgot how it slows u with car seat etc !!!! hope u all had good weekend too xx

Coppernoddle · 26/09/2011 19:52

Deo, glad your a little more rested after your manic weekend!! But do yourself a Favour and relax, especially when it comes to your mil! Just remember that she did help you while you were in hospital and now your out, she probably feels like you still need the help! She may not realise that you want to do it yourself! But you really should take the help! I understand about people doing it for you! I guess as you have a lot of children, your military wonder woman and there's an order and place for everything or it all goes to pot! Sometimes doing it yourself saves you 10 extra jobs created by someone doing it for you!! But at the end of the day, your going to slow your recovery down by not accepting the help! Accpet the help!!!
Go easy on hubby! I know it's hard and your emotions are all over the place!! I spent over a week screaming at hubby for petty things!! Also, he definitely won't see what you see when it comes to chores, help and his mother!!! :)

Coppernoddle · 26/09/2011 19:53

My goodness, ewan has fed and fed today!!!

deo357 · 27/09/2011 10:20

Got sore throat etc today , 2 Ill kids & hubby got it how annoying ! I need it like a hole in the head !!!! Hv coming this am actually she's late !!!!!

cmm · 27/09/2011 11:28

Gosh hips have been bad again but increasing walking so that's probably why. Having a more lazy day today. Out tomorrow as been married 10 years!!!! Coppernoddle · 27/09/2011 13:05

Glad to hear cmm! Think it will take it's time, you'll get there! I have really good days them really bad days with the hips! The more I walk the stronger it's getting but still very painful on the bad days! Married 10 years! Wow, fantastic! Hope you have a bloody good time!! You deserve it! Have a few drinks too and relax with hubby! Have a lovely night out!

Deo, just think of it this way! If you can conquer this, you'll be perfect! Ironing out the creases for a perfect you!! Hehe!! Glad to hear your resting up but how poo to have a sore throat, and Ill boys! That's all you need! Get necking the orange juice!, in fact, red pepper has more vit c in than oranges! And most of our vit c over the winter months comes from potatoes! Does that warrant a takeout??????
All I can say deo, is, I love my cleaner!!! I've been out all morning walking, came home to a spotless house! Loooovley!!

Well, ewan has fed and fed and fed, all through the night too!! Really niggle too! Don't know whether he's feeding because he's niggley, or feeding because he's on a grown spurt and is getting wind from all that extra milk! He's still feeding! How long will this last for????? Zzzzzz
I'm just hoping he's not coming down with something as he has jabs this week! And I think he's enjoying mummy cuddles too much as he won't be put down since he started all this feeding! I'm knackered!!

Hubby has 8< 8< date!!! Grin Grin Grin remember remember the 5thnof November!!! Grin Grin it couldn't come soon enough!!!

deo357 · 28/09/2011 09:24

Cmm - 10 years married is such an achievement I remember at our 10 year anni I was so proud, 10 years & 5 kids then. We have been married 13 years now and together 17 ! Not bad for 33 years old I think !!!
I'm off to docs this am think I have tonsillitis , oh poo, not happy :-(
Hope u had a good night cmm
Chat later xx

deo357 · 28/09/2011 14:24

Yep tonsillitis Sad any tips on boosting my immune after everything ????

Coppernoddle · 28/09/2011 20:43

Obey for the tonsillitis, I give it to the girls as Harriet had it 9 times last tear until she had them out! It has antiseptic healing properties and soothes your throat! I swear by it!!
There's a immune system booster soup I used to make from the James Wong grow your own drugged book which worked too, it's Fiji berry and shiitake soup. Google it, if not I'll give you the recipe, it's really yummy! But one thing I would again say to you is spa tone!!! Keep your iron levels up and your body will function properly!! Seriously, try it!! The soup is easy to make and is better than taking vit tablets as it has everything in it, the right vitamins for absorption and it's all natural! Rest too! Too much running around , your body won't have time to recover!
But defo honey for the tonsillitis!
Poor you, not not having a good time with all of this! You need to concentrate on getting over your op let alone an illness too! How are the boys and hubby? Bet your trying to look after them too! Get friends help! Your going to need it, even when your feeling better, get a friend from nursery to take ds5 for the afternoon accasionally so you get a full days rest!
How's Stanley doing anyway? Is he putting on weight? Bet he's a lot bigger now! How's the feeding going? Hope it's fitting round taking the kids to school! Half term is soon approaching, bet this term has been a blur to you!

Cmm, hope you and Ted are doing well! Enjoying this gorgeous sunshine! That'll make you feel better! It has me, apart from the guilt of having to shave my legs! Which I've sacked it off and gone for linen trousers!! Cheat!

Get yourself in the sunshine too deo, bit of vit d!!!

Ewans vaccinations tomorrow!! Eek!! Hate these, I cry more than they do!!

Coppernoddle · 28/09/2011 20:44

Obey??? What the hell!!! HONEY!!!
