Frizbe · 06/03/2006 12:37

Hi all, gory details here for those who wish to read! \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1370&threadid=152540&stamp=060306122324\birth}

Cadmum and family {{{{Big Hugs}}} Grin huge congrats to you all on Charlotte! Charlie, awww sooo happy you got another girl Grin am waiting with baited breath for your American experience, not good from your tone??Shock

Bella really hoping your scan is good today Smile

Tabs, what's wrong? shall check Feb thread x

Thank to you all for our congrats, just having one of those stunned days! my milks finally come in, after dd2 spent from 7pm-2am getting rid of the collustrum for me, with hardly a break cause she was starving poor mite, so glad MW reminded me yest afternoon that would happen! as I'd forgotten.....but she then slept until 10am! hurrah, (so only had to get up with dd at 7am and help her get dressed, cause she wanted me to Grin wasn't sure as she's spent Sat and Sun being daddys girl and eyeing Neve and I with a certain ammount of suspicion, but think she's happy with her little sis Smile) so I did get to crawl back into bed for a bit more kip later when dh took dd to nursery! its Wed when I'm in for a shock with the two of them......

CadMum · 06/03/2006 13:51

Rom: will NOT post any details until after your LO is born. Am literally still in shock. The best part is that your birth story can only be better!

Am having a rotten time trying to feed Charlotte... Can't really figure out why as things were going so well until we got home. I will likely seek advice on the breast feeding threads. (Rom stear clear of them unless you actually want details of her birth.)

Juge congrats Friz! I will read about your story when I can find a quiet moment.

Thanks for all of the congratualtions. Smile Coudn't have done it without you all!

Bella23 · 06/03/2006 14:23

OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO HAVE A BABY !!!!!!!!Grin

Scan went really well, all looks perfect and I am the same risk as a 15 year old for down's so quite impressive!

Sorry Rom, didn't manage to relax at all during the scan as felt so on edge every time she did a measurement.
Also had my heart scanned as part of Kings Hospital research which was pretty cool.

Thank you so much for all your kind words - feel like its taken so long for us to reach this stage and I really couldn't have done it without you guysSmile

Cad - great to hear from you, hope the BF gets better xx

yellowbear · 06/03/2006 15:49

Huge Congrats to Cadmum and And Friz, I love both the names (well i would love Charlie as that is DS2's name but again I had it on a short list for a girl - til dp disagreed!). Not read the birth stories yet but will soon.

Congrats Bella, its such a relief after the scan isn't it!

Still keeping an eye out for you Rom, won't be long now.

CadMum · 06/03/2006 16:11

Bella!!!! I am SO SO SO happy for you. Can't wait to follow this pregnancy!

Enjoy your bean!

georgeandwigglyjake · 06/03/2006 16:31

Dropping in to catch up on my 5 minutes off feeding (yes, we are going through a growth spurt!) and what fantastic news.

Caddy, congratulations again. Sorry you had a bit of an ordeal and hope the feeding calms down for you soon.

Friz, congratulations to you and Mr Friz on the birth of Neve (lovely name). Birth sounds like a picnic for you. Smile

And Bella SmileSmileSmile, so so pleased for you. I'd love to see your scan if you can e-mail. I want to see that little sweetie you've got in there.

Lovely news and so happy for you all.
xxx

ps, Rom, breathing - In through your nose, 2, 3, 4......hold, arr, arr, arrggggh....and release through gritted teeth, yooooouuuuu, baaaaaaaaassssss, taaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd!! Grin

dramaqueen72 · 06/03/2006 19:25

fabulous news bella. so chuffed for you!

romilly · 06/03/2006 19:54

Cadmum - hope charlie starts feeding again properly. really sorry to hear that - reading between the lines - you had a tough time of it. it is very sweet of you to hold fire on the details in deference to me! dont feel you have to, i will just not read it if you put a warning at the beginning - promise!!

Bella honey - i am absolutely delighted, as is everyone on this thread, that your pregnancy is going well and you have reached the important 12 week milestone. it is fab news, we will all be with you for the next 2 trimesters! i found the first trimester easily the hardest part, so well done!!!

friz - am going to check out your birth story as it sounds like a positive one! hope you and neve are doing well, lol @ your dd eyeing you suspiciously!

george Grin - you always make me laugh!!!! loved the breathing technique reminder - think i have got it!

hi yellowbear - always great to hear from you, and thankyou for thinking of me! my latest news is that i saw my obs. today and he has given me a weeks grace before induction time. so that may give my little one (actually not so little now!) a chance to turn around. so my induction date is set for next wednesday - 15th march. seems like ages off! really hoping something will happen this week.

also completed on our house today, yayyyy. so d/h is in charge of getting the builders to do their stuff now. we hope to move in beginning of may.

romilly · 06/03/2006 20:01

just a brief note to say if wendy ever checks in to this thread - she is very much not forgotten. i really hope that we will one day hear from her again, and that their journey finds a happy ending.

i also want to thank all of you beanie gang - for all the support and chat and laughs (and lows) over the last forty weeks and 6 months before that. thankyou all x

p.s. munzie, hi! hope you are recovering quickly.

CadMum · 06/03/2006 20:44

Rom: Thanks for the support with feeding Charlotte. This whole experience must be to teach me something. If nothing else, I will NEVER look twice at a mother who chooses to bottle feed. I just had NO idea how hard it could be.

I am way to upset and stressed about the whole hospital experience to even consider writing out the story. I am reminding myself that I am SO SO blessed to have four healthy, happy children that I really need to just let this slide. One pregnant woman walked into the hospital with her husband and a big family of 6 walked out together 2 days later. What else matters in the grand scheme?

MeAndMyBoy · 06/03/2006 21:36

Bella yippeeeeee so pleased for you Grin. I'm doing my best to keep you company for the next 40 weeks, well 28 now.

CadMum I am so sorry that your birth was not a good experience. You are doing so well staying positive, I know it can be hard and the birth you have does affect you in many ways. You are being so strong and doing so well. Charlie is so lucky to have you as her Mummy.

Friz, things sound like they are going well, I laughed at DD1 eyeing you with suspicion. Hope Wednesday isn't too much of a shock for you.

Hello to everyone else, sorry I am knackered and my evening sickness is starting to kick in so I'm off to bed.

Night

H x

Bella23 · 07/03/2006 11:55

Arh, you're a lovely bunch of ladies aren't you !

Rom - also thinking of Wendy still. I was so happy when the scan went well yesterday and I could share with you lot and I thought how perfect it would all have been if Wendy had some good news to share as well.

George - will try and scan picture in tonight although not sure how much you can actually see.

Cadmum - mmmm, oh dear birth sounds grim. WOW though at the thought of being a family of 6 now! Amazing Grin

DQ - how are things with you? Not heard much lately?

M&MB - sorry about the sickness, but at least its a nice reassuring signSmile

Rom - woohoo about the house, we just need that little girl to make an appearance and all will be perfect. Surely the cooker timer must go off soon!Wink

Told my Mum last night and she cried....ha ha, so funny !! Was a really lovely moment

romilly · 07/03/2006 13:35

well said cadmum. that is so worth remembering. just what i needed to hear in fact! charlotte is a lucky baby to have such a wise mum Smile

M&MB - sorry to hear about evening sickness, oh boy, do i remember those long evenings!

Bella - bless, your mum sounds sweet! are you going to pack in the job that you are less than enamoured with when you go on mat. leave?

munz · 07/03/2006 17:13

bella- i'm so pleased for u honney.

cads - how is ur positioning? althou I found feeding Joey v hard for the first 4 days or so until my milk came in, then it hurt till about a week but he's not too bad now we're working it out together. I think it helps to have supportive m/ws as well thou. i've found the V pillow and the rugby hold under the arm works best for us on both boobs, I know it's not the tummy to tummy thing they recommend but that was really hurting and Joey didn't feed as well. tht.

munz · 07/03/2006 17:14

ooh but do keep with it, it's worth it I find (but remind me of that when i'm crying from sleep deprivation again!) u're doing really well either way. (((hugs)))

MeAndMyBoy · 07/03/2006 21:40

Hi Munz, lovely to hear from you sounds like things are going well.

Rom thank you for your sympathy, I think I am fortunate in that i can escape by just going to sleep! good job DH does work away so I can go to bed as early as I want and know I'm not going to be woken by him coming to bed.

Cadmum hope your doing ok.

Bella still grinning?

Hi Fiz,

Hope all you other beanie ladies are doing well.

H x

Frizbe · 08/03/2006 09:02

Hi all! I'm surviving at the mo I think.....
DD2 has taken to feeding all night...in fact just all the bloomin time Smile newborns eh! the 7pm-2am with not many breaks is a killer tho, then she's taking an hour to settle...so get to sleep 3am-6am when dh gets up, or if very lucky until 7am when dd gets up......Frizbe the knackered......

Cadmum, haven't read your bf thread, but am finding it psychologically hard from my side of things, Munz is right re the rugby position, works well here too.

Bella Grin yeah! very happy for you all Grin

M&MB still sick {{{Big Hugs}}}

Rom, your next then Grin

Bella23 · 08/03/2006 10:11

Rom - absolutely, shall be sticking a couple of fingers up and going off on mat leave with a big grin on my face!!
oooh....the count down begins for you....Grin

Friz - arh, sleep deprivation sounds a bit harsh, think I might have to close my eyes to that bit as I get panicked if I lose the odd hour!!Grin

George - Have e-mailed you my scan picture as requested.

cadmum - hope you are resting (although I realise that with 4 kiddies that is probably impossible !!)

M&MB - poor you with DH working away, mind you my DH is starting to get up at 6 every morning to go running and setting 2 alarms to do this.....seriously some mornings I could literally swing for him!! Even the cats get woken up!!

romilly · 08/03/2006 14:50

lol bella. ooh can we all see the scan piccie? can u post a link?

M&MB - thats what i used to do, just go to bed to stop feeling nauseous. sleep was the only relief. how many weeks are you now?

well - today is my due date!!!!! so come on bubba Smile

just off to acupuncture now, going to ask him to really go for it today - i expect to look like a pin cushion Grin

CadMum · 08/03/2006 15:13

No time to post between pumping and trying to get my girl to latch and suck but wanted to say sending labour vibes and all the extra hormones in my system to Rom for today. Come on baby!!!

Thanks to all for your warm wishes. Am still having a rather crap time but at least I have a plan and am feeling more settled. I WILL get this girl to breast feed. She has NO CHOICE!

CadMum · 08/03/2006 15:14

Bella send link to beanie!

Bella23 · 08/03/2006 15:50

Ladies - don't know how to link to a picture!!
Am I being thick and missing some instruction on the site somewhere. Can only see instructions for linking to a web page....mmmm

Oh Rom - hope the acupuncture gets something moving for you !!

Cadmum - bless, she'll give in soon and latch on, good for you for keeping going

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 08/03/2006 15:50

Bella.... you need to do a members profile and upload the picture into there. HTH x

romilly · 08/03/2006 17:58

do you realize we have now got 2000 posts on this thread! we must keep it going until i have some news please!

caddy - persevere with the b/f - you are a strong lady, you can do it!

bella - maybe you can CAT the pic to someone who knows how to get it on members profiles - any volunteers?

georgeandwigglyjake · 08/03/2006 18:18

Thanks for the piccie Bella, it's wonderful to see your little baby Smile
I think you need to start practising on the sleep loss now though - have just been through a growth spurt with Jake & I am absolutely shattered. I can see why so many stop b/f, your patience becomes a little worn after waking up hour on hour to become a feeding machine. 9 weeks & still going though!!! (I think it helps being stubborn)

Cadmum, hope you get little Charlie sorted soon and clamped on like a little limpet.

Thoroughly recommend Lansinoh for those of you b/f with sore nipples. I think it helped mine to re-grow Blush & I certainly wouldn't have carried on if it wasn't for that.

Rom, hope you have plenty of pins insterted to start you off Smile

I'll be looking for a birth announcement tomorrow.
