Strange isnt it hun.

Im lucky in the fact that my dad only lives 20 miles away now, but when DH went to Iraq last year, i was 250 miles from ANYONE i knew and loved!

Aren?t you in labour yet? I thought that was the plan?! Maybe if I get you really upset about the Army then you will kick off...

Actually, I think the best plan is to relax and try some of your other (insane) tactics. Have you cut up your pineapple yet?

Canada is so vast that 250 would seem close.

Cadmum · 27/09/2005 19:52

The closest I have lived to family since our eldest was born is 773 miles. (About a 14 hour drive + 1 1/2 hours on the ferry)

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 27/09/2005 20:15

that is mad!

No - not in labour yet..... DH hasnt cut thep ineapple yet, and hasnt taken me to bed either!

Oh well...... not gonna happen tonight then is it!

Cadmum · 27/09/2005 20:19

It is still early! Tell him to get carving.

Wish I had some fresh pineapple... MMM I love it!

I am off to the park with the little people. Hope to read your birth announcement shortly!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 27/09/2005 20:20

Cod: well said

J&BM: what is with the thread title????!!!!!!!!

can't believe how much there is to catch up on when i only checked in last night

will have to catch up tomorrow honeys cause its bob dylan part 2 on the box and i am still suffering from miserable cold, but briefly:

munz - hope you have cheered up sweetheart
DQ - ditto! go for the 3D scan, it'll be amazing
Cadmum - good to see you back on form and chatty
george - love the TP tuesday idea, i'll be there with the andrex

Frizbe · 28/09/2005 09:55

Morning all! crikey you lot were in fine fettle last night! J&BM any sign yet?

george32 · 28/09/2005 10:03

I know my beanie is cooking me nicely!! I'm so glad to see some cooler weather finally with this oven inside me roaring away.

Get your andrex out then Rom, I'm 8 sheets and very disappointed as I've not changed for weeks now. I'm hoping for a surge next week.

I don't know how you ladies cope without your DPs / DHs at home for such long stretches. I'm stressing because mine is away for a week in October (although more because I'm jealous than anything else!! ). It must be very tough, especially at the moment.

munz · 28/09/2005 10:04

JM - get ur DH to swtich trades/corps! lol, mine was v v lucky in iraq, (althou we did have to pay £30 a month on his phone card each month) but then he had an extra 3 hours of calls on top of the normal allowance - and as he was in the office he could ring me twice a week for about half hour each, and his mum as well once a week normally, also as it was office email/MSN was good, he was on there a lot esp if he didn't have any work. is afgan 3 months? still hoping DH will be down graded but he recons when march comes he's gonna tell them he's fine so he can go - ours will be 6 months def they recon, on the ground witht eh infantry boys such a worry as in iraq he was in shaiber so for him it was more like a holiday with the bar and facilities etc. even thou the sun newspaper decided to splash the camp across the centre pages with pics of the main gate and guard shift changes

u know u two this is the exact discussion I was having with DH last night - about how crap the army is and pay etc.. but at the end of the day we have a lovely house (no way we'd afford anything on civvy street) every things our own etc. we don't really want for much, so in short do I give up this lifew style to have a DH home 24/7 or do I let it be put up with the crappy cirumstances to continue with the life we have? besides which in his words - what other job pays him to run about with a gun? - go and see the world, and pays him regardless of wheather he's there or not. it has good points and bad - but as u say we knew the life style when we married em! lol -I get so with the new wives/g'fs who say leave the army or leave me I hate it - well u blooming well knew didn't u why marry them! - my answer is always army first, then the bean then me on DH's prority list. anyhow, hopefully we'll get posted to the signal school so an hour from my mum instead of a whole nuvver country! - wales is a nuvver country right?

rom - how r u hon? i'm more positive now, it's mainly when DH isn't here I'm really missing him and down etc - althou was mad yesterday when he said about the state of the house as if being PG isn't enough hard work! lol.

sweetkitty · 28/09/2005 10:05

Didn't realise army life was so horrendous they don't pay them enough, makes me think of the time recently I was on the train and a young couple got on with a double buggy with 2 18 mo twin boys (I was checking out the buggy sad I know) anyway the man kept saying "be good for your mum boys see you at Christmas!" the woman was in tears as well and they kept hugging. I was practically in tears too I know DP and I have our moments but I like the fact he is here every night. I suppose you would need your family close by.

Anyway back to the topic what about trying some acupucture JABM if your desperate? Just try and enjoy the last few days of being pregnant, remember the just had a baby feeling, jelly belly, horrendous bleeding, feeling like you've been run over, leaky boobs, no sleep! (oops)

munz · 28/09/2005 10:09

sk/george - believe it or not but u get used to it, and I don't know about u JM but when DH came home form iraq, a) he was soo attentive it was unbelievable and appriciated me more, but b) I was thinking when r u off again, cos i'd got into a routein etc and in my own ways and he came to disrupt it all - not looking forward to the next strech but u do get used to it. week's 3&4 were the hardest for me. in our house thou we work in 2 week cycles as that's how long his normal excersice etc is for.

george - u prompted images of a nice pot roast, or stew then - might have to do one tonight!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 28/09/2005 11:58

munz.... i dont know what to do! MW coming any time after 2pm - what do i say?!!!!

OP posts:
Cadmum · 28/09/2005 12:25

JandB what are you worried about?

romilly · 28/09/2005 12:51

i was wondering the same as cadmum J&BM - ?

george - i measured 7 TP sheets exactly! is that roughly what you were at nearly 17 weeks?

hey cadmum and munz - out with the andrex!!

nemo - hope you are taking it very easy, how is the SPD?

DQ - any revelations from your mag?

george32 · 28/09/2005 13:05

Nope, I was......... yep, you've guessed it, 8 sheets!!
That is about 2 months at the same size now but it has got more solid so I think the baby is slowly replacing all the chocolate. My eating has definitely calmed down from the early days.

munz · 28/09/2005 13:07

jm&b was wondering if to ask M/w for an induction or not as it's not her nice one, m/w still thinks her DH is going away on the 9th, but he's not.

munz · 28/09/2005 13:09

rom/geroge - 8 sheets? what's that all about? my tum hasn't seemed to be growing just getting firm esp underneath.

jm - what does DH say? I still go with the tell her about ur bleeding after sex, then see whta she says and if nothing constructive say would induction be poss?

romilly · 28/09/2005 13:27

LOL george @ 8 sheets. this is much more fun than weighing yourself - i loathe weighing myself, you panic if you've lost weight, and panic if you've gained too much. TP seems a kinder approach

munzie - does that mean you are 8 sheets already? i thought you said you had no bump, lol

J&BM - wish i knew what to advise, only you can decide honey

munz · 28/09/2005 13:30

rom - waht do u mean? u see how many sheets to get around ur tummy?

munz · 28/09/2005 13:34

well across the bump do u mean? - i'm only 4 but to go around the back as well - would prob be 7/8 - didn't measure that.

Think I used andrex - does that matter?

is that sized 'bump' (if u can call it that!) normal am allegedly 17+3 (16+5 by bleeding dates)

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 28/09/2005 13:57

right - MW has been and gone.... no concerns - think i may well end up having baby at home though.

BP is up a little bit but still "normal"

Measuring 38 weeks instead of 36+5!

Decided to keep my mouth shut for now..... but she doesnt want to see me for another 2 weeks!!!!

OP posts:
munz · 28/09/2005 13:58

so u have 2 weeks to go? - god confusing! 2 weeks? - I thought it was every week at ur stage?
