Can you work from home at all Rom? I've found that it has really helped me as it tends to be the journey in that is the worst part. I ended up having a chat with my boss & HR to try to work out what would benefit both of us as I was taking at least 1 day off sick every week. Since working from home I've not taken a day off sick.

romilly · 29/09/2005 19:46

i'm afraid that idea would go down like a lead balloon george - you are right that the travel is a nightmare - but unfortunately i have to deal with clients and a lot of people who would not come to my home! i have worked for this creep for absolutely years too! cant think why

Frizbe · 29/09/2005 19:50

and at your boss Rom, totally out of order of him, have a look at the maternity alliance web site for all the ammo you may need! matalli Hope the link works!
Thanks for the compliment re looking after dd as well as being preg n working! I guess you just get used to it!

Ahem well this will make you all laugh, I'm 18 weeks and 8.5 sheets of paper! argh!!!! I'm going to be huge again!

Munz, hope you've thrashed it out with dh

Cadmum, have a good time with dh this weekend!

Well I managed to paint the kitchen celing today! whilst my mum looked after dd in the lounge/garden! then we went out and chose the new paint for the walls so maybe I'm nesting early! mum kept saying, you shouldn't be doing this! my reply, better now than in 3 mths time!

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 02:49

ARGH! DH?s flight has been delayed and delayed and delayed again! There is a strong possibility that it will be cancelled and I am so ! Every time he books the latest flight there are delays and occasionally there have been cancellations! I am so tired of coming dead last in his life. He knows how important this appt is to me and yet he insists on staying at work (where he only has temporary contract) until the very last second rather than booking an earlier flight home.

I am trying to imagine my morning with 3 children at the High Risk Unit... Is my life a joke? Am I on candid camera? There isn?t even a soul on earth that I can complain to in RL because nobody knows that I am pregnant and they all think that everything DH does is MAGIC! Sorry for the rant. I am in floods of tears and I have seriously had it with this ridiculous life-style!

I haven?t even ventured to think what impact this will have on my children if there IS something wrong with the baby....

munz · 30/09/2005 07:50

rom - u tell ur bloody boss, he can pay u SSP and clalim that back from the governemtn and top up ur wages out of his own pocket if he wants to so for u, bloody idiot he is. anyhow, also he'll get all mat pay back and dep on ur NICO's as a company an additional 4% is he's a 'small' employer so he can hardly moan about that can he????

catch up properly later on in work.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/09/2005 08:09

Cadmum, how are you doing? Any news on your DH's flight? I hope he makes it back in time to be with you for your appointment.
I don't think men get how totally consuming the fear is that something will go wrong and how much we rely on their support.
When is your appointment?

Frizbe · 30/09/2005 08:58

Cadmum, fingers x'd he made it back for you {{{Hugs}}} really hope everything is ok with the scan x

sweetkitty · 30/09/2005 09:22

cadmum like the others have said hope your DH makes it back in time, sometimes men just don't think!

I woke up last night with the most painful leg cramp I have ever had, my calf was in a ball it was so so painful, it still hurts this morning. Got my 4D scan to look forward to tomorrow and finding out the flavour of this beanie (or peanut as we call it) I still think it's a girl thing is if it is DD was born in July this one's will be born in January so will need more baby clothes (shame that!)

munz · 30/09/2005 10:55

right then caught up,

george - I feel the same as u wiht money next year - thats why i'm trying to pay off my argos account etc for b4 baby comes so we can save that money - i've already switched to pay and go, cut the food bill down and contemplating getting rid of sky, switched from BGAS and the internet/phone provider etc. so, hopefully those savings should help?? (fingers crossed) thats why we're hoping DH is promoted - then we'll only be short of about £300 after tax credits/benifits so I can do a little job 16 hours or something after maternity pay's stopped. althou the boss has asked I come in here still - 2 mornings in the office and 3 at hom (so only 1 morning of child care) 20 hrs per week, depends on what he's gonna offer me and if it works out we'll be better off finacially. at ur 11 days to go!

rom - will check me books for u and come back about the maternity/sick entitlements he can claim back - still on ur behalf.

friz - honney u have far too mcuh energy for 18.5 weeks!

caddy - (((hugs))) keep calm hon we're all here, hope ur DH's flight came in - tell him u want him to take at least 2 weeks off work cos u've had enough and are stressed out etc not to mention feeling second rate etc.. - hopefully he will see how much this is upsetting u and come up with a solution, fingers crossed for today.

sorted things with DH lots of cuddles and affection asked about the money - apparently £20 on troop funds, £10 for a new thermos mug type thingy, £30 paying bay borrowed money/lending it out - (I swear to god they should just have one bank account between the lot of them up there the amount of sharing they do!) then the rest was fags and food - I did notice he'd been smoking proper fags as opposed to the baccy.

still thou he tidyed up for me made me laugh talked about the porn stuff - and he went all coy and embaressed etc, then he brought me dinner - and the one night he shows some intrest in sex with me I was asleep by 9.30! then he moaned a bit that I said no to him, but I said well u've done that to me - but at least he made an effort - hopefully it will stick.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/09/2005 11:43

My word... sounds like DH really was feeling bad munz.... he must have telepathic powers because he was scared of me giving him a beasting!

OP posts:
munz · 30/09/2005 11:50

lol - I recon so, it's just the swings of the life u know cos he's away - again! working all w/e then away tues-thurs nights but it's 6's and 7's really as then he'll prob spend 6 months at home- and i'll be trying to kcik him out!

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 11:50

DH made it home around 1:00 am. I am so relieved (almost wish I hadn?t posted last night .

My appt is at 8:15... So I leave here in one hour. I have a scan first and then see the consultant at 9:00. (2:00pm for you lot!)

Thanks for all your supportive answers. Sorry for the drama.

munz · 30/09/2005 11:54

caddy don't worry honney, it's what we're here for - glad ur DH is home safetly - good luck today, fingers crossed for u. (((((hugs))))

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/09/2005 11:55

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 30/09/2005 12:02
