Planning to see how the next week goes before going back to nursery. DS is 2 years and 9 months. Can wee and poo in potty, knows when he's going and tells us, and is going an hour or two between wees so I think he's ready. One accident so far.

@blckcurt that's reassuring it could start happening soon then. Any successes so far are only because we've made him sit on the potty...

newhousestress · 30/12/2019 18:18

Another combination of successful wees and accidents today but he's relatively cheerful and so are we. Went out for a walk down a river with all our gear Grin and pull-up dry again after his nap. No poo yet.....

Are you all just putting them in knickers/underpants when you go out and about?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 30/12/2019 18:40

blckcurt I didn’t today- she had no underwear today- wore these thick jogger/ jeans things. Tomorrow is nursery though so I will be putting knickers on her

newhousestress · 30/12/2019 18:42

Huge poos in the potty!

Yes just underwear and trousers here from now on at all times.

I've still been using a nappy when going out, the big difference is that, so far, he no longer uses them and goes to the toilet instead. I'm just trying to work out how long he can hold it for if required and then based on that I will decide whether to stop using them.

ChristmasCarcass · 30/12/2019 21:26

When I say ‘we’re staying indoors in pants’ I’m just talking about my son of course, I’m not joining in

SnugglySnerd · 31/12/2019 09:22

Another dry nappy this morning followed by a massive wee on the potty! She tried a poo earlier too but only a tiny one. She hasn't got the patience! She only does one every couple of days anyway.

itakephotos · 31/12/2019 10:21

Pretty successful first day. 5 wees and 4 of those she got herself to the potty.

This morning we started with a wee on the front door mat 🤦🏼‍♀️ but then a wee a couple hours later on the potty 👍

Happy new year all!

blckcurt · 31/12/2019 10:41

Well yesterday was fantastic and today (so far) is awful. No wee's on the toilet, but we've had two accidents.

Dreading going out 😩

newhousestress · 31/12/2019 13:30

Excellent news @itakephotos and @SnugglySnerd only one accident here this morning which was very exciting for us!

@blckcurt good luck going out, it'll probably be ok. Smile

Thank you @newhousestress. It was actually, he did two wee's whilst we were out - both on the toilet.

An accident when we got home though. He got quite upset with himself so I'm thinking that's maybe a good thing!

YukoandHiro · 31/12/2019 15:59

I'm starting on Thursday. Dd is 2.4 - I think she's ready but she can be very stubborn. To be honest I'm dreading it.

SheepSocks · 31/12/2019 16:31

Can I join?

DD has been potty training since she turned 2, she 2.3 now. We are still hit and miss with it. Her nursery have said the same.

From reading through the thread it seems like I need to move her potty from the bathroom down to the living room where we spend most our time.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 31/12/2019 17:11

So Nursery said DD had a good potty day though did poo in her knickers. Then at a drs appointment this afternoon she peed on the floor in the waiting room. Any tips to get her to tell me she needs to wee welcome!!! When she wees herself she just says “oh no water”. I can prompt and look out
for signs but when do they initiate the potty?

itakephotos · 31/12/2019 17:15

@onlyfools not sure If that's an age/language thing or the amount of time they have been training? DD is taking herself to the potty after saying yes I have a wee coming, but she is nearly 3....wasn't doing that 6 months ago when I tried. We don't get much warning yet though!

First success with a poo today! A couple of accidents too but she has weed more than yesterday.

SnugglySnerd · 31/12/2019 19:47

A successful day! One poo in pants but otherwise completely dry. Going to risk a longer outing tomorrow. We've only been out in short bursts this week so far.

Grandpoplar · 01/01/2020 07:47

Happy new year all. What a way to bring in the new year, eh!

Yesterday was a mixed bag for us: my husband held the fort for the afternoon and we had zero successful wees in the potty. On the positive side, our son wriggled to ask to get out of his chair at lunch and ran into the living room and then weed on the floor. So I think he’s at least starting to recognise the signs of needing to go.

We had two poos on the potty, both prompted, but at least he didn’t seem bothered by it.

This morning his pull up was dry and managed a wee on the potty, so that was a real result for us - never thought I’d celebrate the new year by marvelling at wee...Grin

newhousestress · 01/01/2020 09:11

Happy new year!

Great news @Grandpoplar Smile

Two wees in potty this morning!

newhousestress · 01/01/2020 09:21

Which is why threads like these are great because let's face it real life friends and family are not that interested in 'he did two wees in the potty and then a small accident and later did a poo half in the potty half on the floor...' Grin

Nothing like feeling proud of strangers potty training Grin
Well done Snuggly and Grand!
Just sat DD on the potty infront of peppa- I went to get dressed and called out “all ok” and she answered “I’ve done it”- a wee and a poo....so happy...fingers x for the rest of our days

Happy new year all!

Hello to @SheepSocks and @YukoandHiro Smile

itakephotos · 01/01/2020 12:18

Well done @grandpolar!

We have our first trip out of the house since Sunday! Much needed! Only a quick nip to the park but it's a start

Grandpoplar · 01/01/2020 13:31

Thanks @itakephotos - we also had our first trip to the park earlier - it was a very quick trip but a small victory nonetheless! Both my son and I were delighted to be outdoors but I was pretty on edge until we got back home!!

Grandpoplar · 01/01/2020 13:35

@newhousestress agreed - although I do share the details with my mum, in return for her sharing details of hers and my dad’s various health ailments Grin
