Hi all!

Not sure what you mean Annie - are you talking about the Like on the Coming Out declaration? Grin If so that's not me, nothing so wild and glamorous going on in my life, just showing FB solidarnosc for me auntie who had it on her status. If that wasn't it I'm definitely confused as usually my FB activity ranges from vv dull to non-existent Grin

Great that Josh has settled so well Ceebee. And I like your thread in Top Discussions! I'm only just getting to grips with the other parents in the queue - I know a few from toddler groups etc, but there are loads I haven't spoken to yet. I'm sure they fit into lots of the categories though - as I probably do too Wink

Happy belated birthday HC - hope there was lots of nice BH to help you celebrate!

Gosh they do half-days for a long time, don't they Annie? Emma only had three, much to her annoyance, she liked coming home at lunchtime! They do get tired though, having said that she's generally still liking school I think. Not sure how long it will last but may as well enjoy it for now anyway! Hope Mimi gets into full days okay, I'm sure she will.

Big wave to everyone else, hope everyone's okay.

Anyway better get off and do some work - have a good (if chilly and autumnal) day all! xx

PixelHerder · 14/10/2010 10:25

Meant to say hope Sophie settles down soon HC - may just be a matter of time? Emma was miserable during her first term at pre-school, but the second and third terms were much better, thankfully. Anyway, as you say, not long till half-term!

AnnieOneForTennis · 15/10/2010 14:42

Hmmm... Pix it was your change of surname... I was wondering who this new person was that I didn't recognise and then realised it was you!
Didn't even see the Coming out Declaration!
[goes back to double and triple check]

Mimi is enjoying it full time, I think, but she is very tired and cranky by bedtime. We had the Meet The Teacher evening yesterday (involving much juggling and swapping of childcare) and she's very pleased with her settling in and her 'reading' and numbers so far. Sometimes quiet in big groups, but otherwise fine.
It was getting a bit of a back-and-forth all day routine even though I only do it on Thursdays, so I'm glad she's full time now. And so is DH so he can get on with DIYing our flat!

CB I enjoyed your thread too - can relate to most of them! So cute, your two boys in bunk beds! Do you have any photos? We're thinking of getting ours bunkbeds sometime soon...

Have a lovely weekend girls x

Annie - of course, I remember now - I had to go and check who this person was that suddenly appeared on my FB page too Grin So, Pixel, spill the beans....

Glad Mimi is doing well - we don't have a parents evening as they think it is too soon to have a 'valuable' discussion - instead we have a parent's gathering so they can tell us how they are teaching them phonics etc. That is in a few weeks - can't wait Hmm

However, Josh decided he needed a poo yesterday about 2 minutes after we had left school...cue a mad dash back to the school. I was left standing with the teacher whilst he was 'doing his business' so I took the opportunity to ask how he was doing and she said he was fine and she said she was seriously impressed with his numbers!

PixelHerder · 15/10/2010 16:56

Arf Annie - that hadn't even occurred to me! DH and I actually got married nearly 3 years ago (though have been together nearly 11) so it's old news! I didn't change to my new married name on FB straight away as most people knew me so well under my old name. But (in a rare mood of efficiency) I thought after 3 years it was probably about time I got round to it!

We've got a parents' evening next week - don't suppose we'll get much of a chance to chat to the teacher though as she'll have 30 sets of parents to get through (assuming they all turn up).

Glad it's the weekend - good excuse for early wine o'clock

Have a good one girls xx

HumphreysCorner · 19/10/2010 11:09

Morning all

This getting both girls to school lark is an exhausting nightmare. Emma just won't shift herself in a morning. Looking forward to a slower paced half term.

Bloss-have you had DH's 40th bash yet?

What has everyone else been up to? Matthew is cruising, pooing explosions and waking up at 2am and 6am every night. Don't ya just love the first years? Grin

Agree that we mustn't let the thread drop. Smile

Hope all OK.

HC, we have mornings like that where, although they are both up at the crack of dawn, they just want to play and not get dressed... we have races against (imaginary) people in their class now and it seems to work. Mimi insisted on wearing her winter uniform now, fair enough, it's freezing out there!

Also looking forward to half term though. Bit of free time...

Pix I vaguely remember you getting married now (or at least you telling us about it!) how time flies eh? When's your parents evening, do you all go in together? We had slots...

CB we've had a few incidents similar to Josh, where Mimi comes down the path crossing her legs!! 'Need a wee, Mimi?' 'No'. A minute later, 'I need a weeeeee'!!! Back into the class... although I'm not allowed to go with her, she has to go in by herself. I think they told her she was a bit silly not to go before she left yesterday...

Hope everyone else is well. Smile

I went to parents evening on my own with all 3 children as DH was at work. Emma as usual is perfect at school but not at home so the teacher offered to have a little chat with her about being difficult at home so am hoping next time I ask her to do her homework she might actually do it without doing a wasp trapped in a jam jar impersonation. Sophie on the other hand is a dream at school and home and the teacher couldn't think of a personal target to give her as she does everything right. Smile She also got the most green cards this term so got to go in her own clothes today.

Had a nightmare yesterday as Em opened the car door onto another car in the car park. I am Blush to say I panicked and moved the car to another space but am now worried the owner will ask to look at the CCTV and I will be in big trouble for not leaving a note and trying to cover up the evidence. Blush

Better go and get them from school.

Waves!

sorry sorry sorry all for being SO AWOL!!!

Have skimmed through but will try and catch up properly later.

I took the boys for 4 nights at a Haven Caravan park in Pagham this week, with my friend and her 2 boys, all in one caravan, EXHAUSTING!! But the boys all had a ball, we went swimming twice, they could ride their bikes everywhere, had days out, worked the arcades, H had football training twice, it was ace for the kids and it was nice to spend some time with my friend. Will deffo go again.

No HC, big bash is end of this month!. have bought a lovely red dress. Think everything is organised, got 65 people coming for a sit down 3 course meal, then a disco etc. Have ordered 65 individual coffee and walnut cupcakes to be displayed on a 7 tier stand for his cake rather than one big one. Excited!

Can't remember if I told you the resolution of the job thing but I ended up staying after they counter offered with a mahoosive pay rise so didn't really think I could say no! Am enjoying work again hurray, and have bought a new car to celebrate. Grin

Toby is loving school. Had his parents evening before half term and they said how lively he is and happy to talk to anyone and everyone. He seems to have a lot of friends already which is lovely. He is half days till xmas too....They did pick up on his speech however, as he still can't say his 'ls' his 'ks' or 'gs' and will say "let's yoot at this boot mummy" for "Let's look at this book" IYSWIM. I am trying to get him to put his tongue on his top teeth to enunciate an 'l' but the back of throat sounds are harder. I will wait till he is a bit older before exploring therapy...

Harry is great, so tall and still so blonde, loving football and is great at it. I did laugh the other day when he didn't want to wear his liverpool scarf to school because the other boys all support Chelsea, and then heard DH counselling him about a team being for life not just when they are winning etc, ha ha ha ha....Grin

We have 3 Halloween parties this weekend. Phew.

Mum very bad, and not long out of a home. Sad Keeps attacking Dad and trying to run away and I don't see any of my mum left in there at all any more. Dad has had a hip replacement so he needs alot of support although has got alot of his mobility back already which is great.

Hope you all have a brilliant Halloween, love to everyone, will try not to leave it so long next time. [hgrin] [hgrin] [hgrin]

Bloss, bloss, bloss...
Great to hear you are still busy as ever. So sorry about your mum though, it must be very hard for you and for your dad.
Joey still can't say his 'l's either, he says 'y' instead. And his r's are still w's. Mimi can though, strangely...

HC Well done to your girls at school Smile

Hi all.

I have been on Mumsnet quite alot recently but have not posted here, and I feel guilty!

Highlights and lowlights:

Mum has gone into a home. Totally traumatic and don't really want to go into the details.

I have acquired two new cats from a Mumsnetter! They are gorgeous.

The party looms (27th) and I am really excited and nervous.

Boys are great, and the love of my life.

I hope you are all well and blooming.

Bloss

AnnieWinehouse · 22/11/2010 10:57

Hi Bloss, so SadSadSad about your mum. I'm sure she will be well looked after though.
Glad the boys are well!!

HC, hurrah for hols in Spain! Don't fret about Christmas, it's only November!

Saying that, me and DH went to ToysRUs on Thursday and did all the kids stuff. The rest we are doing gradually by internet.
J&M wrote their letters to Santa, and Joey couldn't decide which Wii game he wants so he left it to Santa to decide Grin
Mimi asked for a barbie in a pink dress, but now she claims she asked for a princess kitchen AND a barbie in a pink dress... a different one...
so a slight dilemma. She's not getting the kitchen I tell you. We had got her a doll in a pink dress but I fear it's not the one she wants, as she saw another one in a catalogue. Curse you cataloges...

Hope everyone else is well. Let's not fizzle yet x I would miss you x x xx

Hi HC ! Sorry you've been ill, hope everyone's better now.

Hope everyone else is well, and enjoying the snow. If such a thing is possible.

Extremely excited about christmas in our house. Sorted Mimi's present, she pointed it out in the argos catalogue, and said That's what Santa is bringing me! (Cue lecture about being good especially at bedtime or she won't be getting anything!!)...

Snow melting now so think school will be open again tomorrow, just waiting for the confirmation text and Email. It has been nice not rushing to school, swimming, riding etc this week. Got baking and wrapping done and even wrote my Christmas card. Xmas Grin

Hello Spin!! I can't call you shit yet...

Great to hear from you my love. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry to hear about the RA. if it's any consolation at all, that's what I've got, I've had it since having Joey so feel free to rant, I know exactly how you feel. I'm on some brilliant drugs now, have been for over two years and I feel completely normal most of the time - so if you feel like chatting/mailing/finding out all the details let me know my love. I hope they can find something that really helps you. It ain't easy with two little uns (and pens and anything heavier than a feather actually!)
Big happy birthday to Chi and glad Roshi is doing so well. She sounds bright as a button that one x x x x x

Hi HC!!! You are so organised! I have bought lots of stuff, but not sent or wrapped anything yet. The tree is up though! yaay! x x x

Shitmagnet! (I really don't think I can call you that!!) email me via FB if you like or I can give you my normal email (I check both).
I don't know if it's the same in Oz regarding drugs, but I started off on steroid injections to ease the pain and stiffness, then went through a series of trial drugs, none of which worked and finally they put me on Humira (there are other similar options) and it really really works - no pain, rarely stiffness, just normal!
Just need to find something that works for you x x x x
