can i share your pity party balloon please TS? I had a lovely afternoon out, bought some fabric, some books, a hat and a jigsaw for DS's birthday (all bargains!), and just generally had a lovely mooch around the shops on my own. Got home, DH cross, apparently didn't realise I'd be all day (i was 4hrs (45mins of that was spent queuing in the post office to sort out something for DH) blah blah blah so instead of remaining calm and rejuvenated,i got upset because he was cross with me. DS was hungry (DH couldn't decide what to give him for dinner so didn't do anything) etc etc etc Wet washing was still in machine and dish washer was still full ie exactly how i'd left both of them ARGGH

anyhow, i'm a little calmer now....almost! washing almost all out on the line and dish washer can wait til tomorrow

MrsMiamla · 08/07/2010 20:10

DS has discovered the joy of dressing himself...he's currently screaming because i took off the jeans and t-shirt that he had put on...over the top of his pyjamas. Oh and he pulled his curtains (rail and all) off the wall this morning so he now has a blanket taped to the window except, surprise surprise he keeps pulling it down
I'm so not in the mood for all this tonight. do you reckon if i just go to bed, it'll all miraculously get sorted overnight?

TwilightSurfer · 08/07/2010 20:27

it's deflated but sure, here.

MrsMiamla · 08/07/2010 20:56

a deflated balloon is alot better than no balloon so thanks TS

cyteen · 08/07/2010 21:11

Maybe you two need a happy balloon NB: cyteen is a family brand and does not endorse the use of drugs

DS had his first proper screaming meltdown tonight, over...a spider DP was doing bedtime and we both thought DS had hurt himself, he was going that mental. Turns out it was because he'd seen the big spider that was wandering around in the bath and got freaked out by it. A whole new world of needs is opening up to me!

Gah miamla & TS i am feeling your pain.

Yesterday when i picked DD1 up from preschool I found that we had been specially selected for Prince, the preschool teddybear, to come for a mini-break. So today has been spent taking pictures of said bear doing lots of activities with DD1, printing them out, sticking them in his 'diary' and writing a story. FFS, like i don't have enough to be doing . Was i wrong to feel like taking rude/inappropriate pics of Prince (like his head stuck down the loo) to see if anyone notices. Oops

Called the garage again this avo as no call from them but the owners sister was apparently admitted to hozzie today

On the upside i went to get the tyre replaced and the lovely man in the tyre shop said the existing tyre would be ok and no worries re the one they had ordered in and then i went to Sainsbo's and they gave me a free bunch of flowers on the way out . no idea why

I MUST go and wax my legs now as have been putting it off for weeks days. hopefully back later, unless someone else finds another task for me to complete.......

oopsandbabycoconuts · 08/07/2010 21:21

Today we had our very first proper 2 year old tantrum. She was hitting E's rocking chair with her mop, I told her twice not to do it and she ignored me so I took the mop away and put it in a cupboard. The all hell broke loose - foot stamping, screaming, throwing herself on the floor and hitting her hands and feet on the ground. I just kept leaving the room she was in she followed until she finally calmed down and asked for a hug. She has now gone to bed all calm and happy after gardening this evening and she wanted me to water her with hose.

DD2 spend a large portion of the afternoon in the shade stark naked kicking and cooing it was very adorable.

TS no pity parties here - outside in the sun and top up your tan and happy hormones

Miamla - remember he is a man and multi tasking is not alway possible [wink

Dizzy - waiting to hear how the brownies are.

MrsMiamla · 08/07/2010 21:23

"Nitrous Oxide is an anaesthetic gas best known for its use in dentistry and as a whipped cream propellant."

well i never knew that! (the whipped cream bit!)
thanks cyteen, made me smile!

crisp great news re tyre and flowers! and no, you weren't wrong to think it about taking rude pics of Prince but you were wrong to not actually do it

DS has got a thing about 'bees' at the moment. The remaining screw in his wall (from the curtain rail) does indeed look like a bee but no convincing that's its not from me or DH has worked he seems a bit quieter up there now... i'm wondering what i'm going to find him wearing When i checked on him during his nap earlier, he'd managed to get both legs through the neck hole of a tshirt and had it wedged round his knees. oh and a vest was around his stomach

if he's asleep, i think i'm going to copy him so night all if i don't see you all again before the morning

oopsandbabycoconuts · 08/07/2010 21:23

Crispy - I read that as 'must go and unwax my legs' No wonder you have no time on your hands!

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/07/2010 21:53

Right, legs waxed and bikini line . oops Luckily the unwaxing needs no scheduled time!

Also made a trayful of rice crispie cakes as i realised DD1 will miss the end of term party so ought to do something. Oh, and no presents for the preschool teachers . Think i need to emigrate to France otherwise i will be on the school hitlist of ungrateful parenting. Ho hum

Oh, and the double buggy has a puncture so unless i can find and utilise a puncture repair kit by 8.30am we will have to take the car

I have a cup of tea though

oops DD2 has some cracking tantrums. On a par with DD1's so i think she must be a good teacher . At the moment she shrieks and pummels if DD1 joins in a song with her

miamla if you are bored in labour you could try a DIY version of squirty cream would cover up any poo incidents nicely

TwilightSurfer · 08/07/2010 22:31

Thank you Cyteen Funny how worlds are so different yet so alike. LOL! I happily PLEAD THE FIFTH.

Sazzles why on earth did your tyre mechanic give you flowers? How often do you "get tires fixed"??

Oops SERIOUSLY! This was your first tantrum. You truly are a blessed lady.

Miamla I brought us some chicken tacos. Pity parties ROCK!

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/07/2010 22:42

LOL TS, twas the supermarket which gave me the free flowers. Keep up

Very of your taco's

DD1 just woken up screaming saying she doesn't want to go to bed. She might not but I do!!! Too much to do yet though

TwilightSurfer · 08/07/2010 22:48

I almost forgot. Crisp DD1 had to do the bear from school thing TWICE. His name was Highland. DH did a photograph session with him hanging from the ceiling fan and tossing toys around in DD1's room and hanging with the other bears in the hood, I mean house.

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/07/2010 22:52

Just went back in to see DD1 as i promised to go down after 10 mins. She is still awake so i said i would go back down in another 10 mins and if she was awake then, i would be going to bed and she could come in bed with me. She said 'no mummy, i will stay in my own bed tonight'. Not sure if she is being brave or doesn't want mummy cuddles

TS I fear with another 2 years of preschool that Prince will be back for his holidays again. We may try some more extreme sports like fan flying with him next time

dizzydixies · 08/07/2010 23:54

cakes - check
brownies - check
traybake ruined trying to get out of tin - check
boxes - check
ingredients list - check
sitting on arse drinking wine - (finally) check

I have to deliver them by 8am so DH will arrive home at approx 5am from his shift and will be woken up to watch the kids as they ruined the farm shop last time he can then go back to bed till his nightshift as we're heading to my aunts house

Oops - Brownies worked out brilliantly

TwilightSurfer · 09/07/2010 02:15

Dizzy sounds like you are the Queen Bee! I'm going to be sending you positive vibes (from my sleep mind you) for that early delivery. Good Luck!

hotterpotter · 09/07/2010 06:33

Ooh good luck with your cakes today Dizzy

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/07/2010 07:03

Dizzy - yay for cake hope all goes well with the delivery and you get a regular weekly order.

Yesterday you may remember me saying how wonderful DH was - strike that!! I discovered the he didn't give DD any breakfast yesterday morning and failed to tell me until nearly 11pm! He then had the cheek to get pissy with me when I got cross with him. I didn't give the poor girl any snack at 8am as she had supposedly just had breakfast. Now he is just being an ARSE, both girls are awake, he woke DD2 at 12.30 with his stompling about and turning on the light so she partied for and hour but didn't want to be fed then she woke at 4 for a feed and DD woke her up at 6.30.

Okay whinge over - DD has breakfast, DD2 has poo and I am about to make myself a large cup of something hot and wet to go with my chocolate hobnobs!

DD2 has her 6 week check with the HV today, DD1 has music and then we are going to do nothing but play in the garden and do some gardening

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/07/2010 07:43

Hope you are on the road dizz, if not....GO

Boo for DH oops, what IS it with the sulking and being an arse when they are quite clearly in the wrong?? I have the same with DH atm as i got angry frustrated yesterday when he had left his phone in the truck all day and i needed to get hold of him twice. Just 2 quick Q's but would have saved me a whole lot of time/bother. However when i pointed out to him that the clue was in the name 'mobile' i was told i was being pissy. Oh and that he didn't appreciate my swearing by text

Good luck with the HV and i'm sure she will sign you both off with flying colours

Morning hots and TS

DD1 still asleep . She never did come into me. However i do think she sleeps MUCH better with a double duvet on the bed tucked in on both sides. She seems to wake far more easily with a single which gets rucked and moved. Just a tip which may be worth trying for anyone trying their Aug08 babes in a bed anytime soon

Off to preschool this morning, then pack, pack, pack

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/07/2010 08:04

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOTI. Hope DH actually makes some effort for you to enjoy your day. xxxxx

poppysocks · 09/07/2010 08:51

Happy Birthday LOTI!

dizzydixies · 09/07/2010 09:15

Cakes delivered by 7.50am - I couldn't sleep worrying about sleeping in so now about to jump in the car and head to Glasgow - not sure what kind of reception I'm going to get

Poor DD2 has a patch of sunburn on her thigh I covered her in lotion yesterday and friend said she reapplied but obviously we missed something somewhere - thank goodness it is cooler today

Oops - grrr for DH, hope you manage some rest today.

Poppy - you don't need to buy them!!! You get makes privilages must arrange to meet up soon

hello all and goodbye all - will be on later at Dad's no doubt x

MrsMiamla · 09/07/2010 09:16

many many happies LOTI

springaporesling · 09/07/2010 10:34

Miamla I've just lent my moses basket to my friend who is having twins. She's due about the same time as you and the twins are both above 2kg already so she's now just playing the waiting game seeing how much longer she can put up with it.

DS went for his 18month injections (a bit slack there but everytime I booked an appointment he got a cold) he's now moved above 50th centile in weight and back up to 75th for height (he hasn't been on that since about 3 months)!

Congrats on getting the order out Dizzy here's to many more.

LOTI Happy Birthday

Speaking of birthdays do we need (hint hint TS) to resurrect the list soon?!

MrsMiamla · 09/07/2010 10:44

ooh, sounds like minispringaling has had a growth spurt! well done S!

Twins? in the heat you've got?

My neighbour told me a story the other day about a friend of hers who got to the point of delivering her baby to find out that actually she was having twins!! I thanked her kindly for sharing her tale and rapidly changed the subject!!
