New thread for us to chat about our little jekyll & hydes...

Danny is currently stood next to me rearranging my DVD collection - I will be doing a work out to charlie & lola tonight apparently, while DS1 will be watching Billy Blanks Taebo with his pre-bedtime cup of milk and DH's history docu is hiding out with Diego in the city of lost toys...

mrsy ouch! Hope it goes soon x

SilveryMoon · 20/06/2010 10:58

MrsY Good to see you
Sorry to hear about ear infection, that is pants.
Ashley's had to work today too, even though he is officially on holiday. he's on his way back now though.

I'm getting a new phone. Either an iphone or a blackberry

TulipsInTheSunshine · 20/06/2010 11:51

dinky i hope your chat with the head of department sorts things out for you as the current situation sounds completely unsustainable and miserable.

mos and spotty... sympathy on the dodgy backs. I'm a fellow sufferer and it really does restrict normal life and turn me into a grumpy cow.

mrsy... wishing you a swift recovery from the earache... sounds horrid.

SM, that's lovely of your mother... hope you have a lovely meal out with the money.

kids are driving me dolally today with the shouting and whining, haven't had enough sleep and still haven't managed to get any breakfast. At least it's nice weather... have thrown them all outside so they're fighting in the sandpit now

MrsY · 20/06/2010 14:18

Thanks - I was hoping my mum would pop round after church, especially as the best behavior thing seems to have passed!

SM - hope you have a good holiday. Where are you going? It's lovely of your mum to help you and Ashley have a treat. When will Ashley be home?

Dinky - work sounds really tough, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the talk goes well and things start improving soon. x

TITS - lucky you having good enough weather that you can dispatch the young'uns outside. It's miserable here, which doesn't improve my mood or M's.

SilveryMoon · 20/06/2010 14:33

Ash got home a few hours ago and went into town to get me a new blackberry and he is now in bed, as are the boys whilst I am watching some Grey's Anatomy.
We are going to camber sands next monday for 4 nights.

MrsY · 20/06/2010 18:08

Oh, lucky you, SM!

I love Camber, we went there loads when I was young! Have fun.

littlesez · 20/06/2010 19:41

Grin Grin Grin

Spottyshoes · 20/06/2010 20:41

SM. Yet again ! lie-ins til the afternoon and free phones!!

I spent 3 hours cooking Sunday dinner... No one turned up!!!! 3 hours for me and 2 small children . My neck is agony. I have drunk the rest of the cider the pork cooked in (plus two extra bottles) and taken several ibruprofen. I am now going to paint my nails in a somewhat wobbly fashion and leave the bombsite kitchen for the four rude-ass adults who are in the pub

night all x

MrsY · 20/06/2010 21:21

Grrr at your absent lunch guests, Spotty. I'd be soo livid. Hope your neck feels better soon - would a hot bath make a difference?

dinkystinky · 20/06/2010 21:35

Evening all. The feckers Spotty - I'd go on strike and refuse to cook any more sunday lunches; in fact I'd insist on the rude bastards taking you and the kids out for lunch to apologise!

Nice to see you on MrsY but sorry to hear about the ear infection, not great being ill when dealing with a little Todzilla. Hope your mum arrived and saved your sanity!

SM - the fact DH got called in to work has hopefully put your mind at rest re job security! How lovely of him to get you a new bberry. Hope you're enjoying playing with it.

Well the booze and pills combo gave me 4 straight hours sleep!!! Whoop whoop. God I sound like a junkie

Sam has been sick in the night so have been greeted with a lovely job this morning. Have bathed him and he still smells!

Happy Monday morning everyone!

SilveryMoon · 21/06/2010 07:33

spotty Yuk. Hope Sam is ok and your day improves

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/06/2010 09:55

I am so sad at the moment i think there is something wrong with ds and i cant help him... and advice will be appreciated.... here

SilveryMoon · 21/06/2010 12:16

bumps I just posted on your thread.

Spottyshoes · 21/06/2010 13:44

Thanks SM.

Bumps I don't know what to say as Harry throws whopper tantrums and is violent, but only in the day, and although very frequent, only last for about 10 mins. Night terrors do sound a strong possibilty and I think you do right by taking him to the gp. Big hugs and I hope you get some answers soon x

dinkystinky · 21/06/2010 13:54

Bumps - have posted on your other thread. As far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with O - he's a little boy who may v well either be going through an illness/ear infection causing lots of pain or separation anxiety and it will pass. Danny throws plenty of tantrums. When he does so, one of us has to put our hand behind his head and lie him down on the floor so he doesnt injure himself by throwing himself around with force. They're little kids who still cant understand the world around them or properly communicate so they get frustrated and lash out - its not personal and its not wrong, its just a phase they're going through.

I just wanted to give you all an update. DS has an infection in both ears. The doctor said that he thinks this coupled with his teeth are what caused the problems last night.

He wants me to go back in three weeks to see if things have improved, but he is happy that this was what has caused it...

Fingers crossed....

Wow it has been ultra quiet on here today..

SilveryMoon · 21/06/2010 21:22

Oh bumps, poor owen. Glad it is something easily treated and not anything you were possibly thinking. Big hugs to the little man.

MarkStretch · 21/06/2010 21:33

Hello everyone.

I am not expecting another baby yet- just to get that bit out of the way!

Back to work on a relief basis which is nice because I can work my hours around DH's shifts and we are very lucky not to have to pay for childcare at the moment as we are managing between us (and occasionally MIL).

We moved house in May and now in a much better place. Had to survive for a week with no running water downstairs, no cooking facilities and washing up in the bath for a week while the kitchen was ripped out but is was well worth it.

Hope you're all ok, haven't been on MN in ages but got my work laptop back so can MN slobbing in front of the TV again - WOO!

Frank is a lovely cheeky baby, just getting a few words now, and my first baby turns 8yrs old next week! Can't believe it!

Spottyshoes · 21/06/2010 23:39

Hey MS - was just thinking about you earlier as you popped up on my fb thread and looked proper foxy!!! Also thought of you whilst reading some gossip mag yesterday as the Ugly Betty scottish lady recently had a baby and called him F!!! V random I know! Cant believe your DD is nearly 8!!!! Was she not just 5 when we all started out here???!!! Hope work is good and you enjoy the 'perks' of tinternet xxx

So glad it is ear infections and therefore easily resolved bumps! I didnt want to say earlier but H is so manic and off the wall (generally! not just tantrums) that I genuinely wouldnt be suprised at some form of adhd/aspergers diagnosis in the future as I suspect he is somewhere on the autistic spectrum. That may just be me being over sensitive due to work but can see sooooo many tendencies! And not to compare but i havent witnessed one single child of a friend act in the same way Hope he got prescribed some meds and they work for him soon! Have a better night xxx

Spottyshoes · 21/06/2010 23:43

Oh and im not having sex with my arsehole husband pregnant either - despite anouncing I might be trying on the Fab Feb FB page severalmonths ago

Comiserations MS - lots of ttc vibes for you xx

littlesez · 22/06/2010 07:44

WTF 5 am all week apart from that all good

hey MS lovely to see you

bumps, im not so good with the advice but sounds like your doing everthing right hun xxx

MrsY · 22/06/2010 08:04

Hey all Spotty glad you got a good nights sleep. Am quite tempted to try that, but I'm a bit scared if I started drinking and popping pills I wouldn't stop until I couldn't.

Bumps, sorry to hear about O's ear infection. I can safely say I know how utterly horrendous they are. I will say again that I think O's 'moments' are no more intense or frequent than M's (from what I've seen). I know with M that boredom tends to be the trigger, and though I'm sure O doesn't get bored with J entertaining him, maybe he would benefit from a bit of one-to-one with you? Or maybe there is another trigger?

Hey MS hope you are nicely settled now. Can't believe L is going to be 8. I realised at the begining of June that I found out I was pg two years ago, so we must have started the group up about that long ago! It's gone too quick.

Dinky, did you have your chat with your boss yet?

Ear seems to be on the mend, now just have to shake myself out of my torpor and get back to sending out my CV to everyone in Kent.
