New thread for us to chat about our little jekyll & hydes...

Danny is currently stood next to me rearranging my DVD collection - I will be doing a work out to charlie & lola tonight apparently, while DS1 will be watching Billy Blanks Taebo with his pre-bedtime cup of milk and DH's history docu is hiding out with Diego in the city of lost toys...

Where is everyone? I think Silverymoon is the glue that keeps this thread together - now she's off working its tumbleweed city. Just me and my keyboard....

im here, just having a wee five minute escape while louis constantly says "mum, (pause) MUM, MUM MUM, MUUUMMMMAAAAY" just to be annoying!its doing my head in! roll on Monday.
went to see my friend yesterday who has thrown her back out. its a 100 mile round trip so was shattered when i came home.

Sandy is teething too, his eyeteeth are coming through and his wee bum is red raw. that seems to be adding to his general crabbyness.
dinky, i think you should get ur dad to check it out just to be on the safe side.it is probobly nothing but better put your mind at rest.
feeling a bit out of sorts today, my kitchen is a tip and cannot find the motivation to clean it.ten more minutes on mumsnet and another coffee then i'll move my bum..honest!

dinkystinky · 15/10/2010 15:33

Hope you got your kitchen sorted Clarabumps. Danny is the one who constantly says "mummy, mummy, MUMMEEEEEE" - DS1 is quite restrained in his use of my moniker. Poor Sandy. Danny teething too but DH is convinced the woo teething necklace is having an effect (and a good one at that)...

hello all, all boring here but just wanted to post so poor dinky doesn't think we've all jumped ship Grin

Clara... we're in teething hell here too. A has molars coming through i think and is red bummed and grumpy and annoyingly awake all the time recently. Seems like only a few weeks ago dd was teething and now she has her first wobbley tooth >

SilveryMoon · 16/10/2010 07:06

Morning.
All's a bit boring here too. Nothing to share.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Jacob has a temp, so that puts my plans of swimming off.

MarkStretch · 16/10/2010 08:25

Hello I am here but my laptop is broken so quickly on my mum's. My house is in chaos, walls being plastered and new toilet being fitted. Got to clear out sitting room tomorrow for plasterer so broadband connection will go too for a while! See you all next week!

littlesez · 16/10/2010 19:54

SilveryMoon · 17/10/2010 14:39

hello all. Can't believe it's only half 2. Luke has been up since 4:30am. I have cooked a weeks worth of dinner for them and am just waiting for the cottage pie and tuna bake to cool so I can get it in the freezer.
I was gonna take the boys to snakes and ladders today so they could play and I could read the paper but ended up walking around the car boot.
Haven't done anything special this weekend, which makes me feel guilty because I will hardly see them til next weekend, we had a trip to town yesterday and got Jacob some new trainers and new school shoes (grand total of £55, so not too bad. Luke's turn next month), then did a big supermarket shop.
Today went car boot, have watched spiderman 2, I've cooked loads and now boys are playing with trains.
I might try to grab an hour in bed before I have to start ooking tonights dinner!

Calico1 · 17/10/2010 15:58

Blimey SM - can we come to dinner?

I've spent the whole weekend clearing the attic room which will become DS's bedroom. I got rid of 6 bin bags of my stuff and DH only managed to throw away about 3 things. The room has been used as an office / general junk room for ages so was chock full of stuff including 6 old computers.....which DH wants to keep Hmm. He also decided to keep all his old records that take up a whole cupboard and loads of old coats and suits, most of which he hasn't worn for a decade or more.....seriously the man is insane. So I feel like we still have a room full of crap except we've moved it around a little......

Took DS to the local supermarket this morning where they have one of those machines that you can put your spare change in and it gives you a voucher to exchange for notes. Anyway DS wanted to put in his pennies from his jar that he has been collecting - he had over £18 in 1ps! So he treated us all to some chocolate cake Wink

Anyway that's alll I have achieved this weekend.....

mumoverseas · 18/10/2010 09:39

hello all, been a bit manic here in RL and internet bloody rubbish. New provider was supposed to 'go live' on 18th September but apparently in KSA 'going live' doesn't actually mean going live Hmm

dinky hope you are ok and hope you get a second opinion on your little man

STW good to see you back and hope you continue to make progress with O.

Littlesez Shock at flips! I can just about touch my toes on a good day (and that is with knees bent) Grin

SM wow at all your cooking, sounds like you have fitted in really well with your work.

hello to everyone else and sorry if I've missed any important news, a bit sleep deprived here.

H has been pretty ill the last few weeks. He has had a cough that just won't go and which keeps him (and us) up at night. He coughs so much sometimes that he makes himself sick Sad
Finally took him to med centre yesterday and saw a lovely female doctor (one of the mums on the compound) who was fab. He apparently has bronchiolitus (sp?) again and is on ABs, steriods, antihistamine and various other things. He was put on nebuliser at med centre and had a little bit of improvement so have been nebing him at home. Thankfully we bought a nebuliser from a friend who left KSA last month so has come in handy.

Rushing round like a loon (no change there)
Organised a charity sale on Friday (a bit like the NCT ones) and have just finished sorting out the money. Made SR1,600 for charity which is around 290 sterling so very pleased with that.

Friday was manic for me. I signed up for the Terry Fox run (young canadian man who sadly died from cancer years ago and had pledged to run across canada to raise money) anyway, the runs carry on and this year the 10th one was in Riyadh and on our compound so I signed up DH, DD (aged 4) and myself. Took H in his pram and it was very embarrasing when DD shot off in front of us and we struggled to keep up with her. Thankfully she ran out of steam after about 10 mins so we caught her. It was only 4k but am so glad I did it and a lot of money was raised for that.

Am doing a lot of charity stuff here now (my books and card sales, occasional cakes bakes and charity sales) and am thinking of setting up a charity committee to make it more formal. Usually fundraise for GOSH but have signed up to trek Jordan next October for NDCS (with DS1) and need to raise 3.5k (seemed a good idea at the time!)

Back to the UK on Wednesday night for a few days then off to USA once we've picked up DC1 and 2 so need to get sorted and pack etc.

Hope everyone is ok x

mumoverseas · 18/10/2010 09:39

christ, that really was war and peace Blush

SummerRain · 19/10/2010 15:34

lo all, freezing to death here and nothing much going on. Got drenched walking to the school to pick up the older two (A walks too now instead of using the buggy Grin) so am trying to get the fire balzing now to defrost, ruddy gymnastics tonight, and bloody fecking parent teacher meetings tomorrow... should be fun Hmm

SummerRain · 19/10/2010 15:35

MOS, sorry H is ill... hope the nebuliser is improving things for him Sad

littlesez · 19/10/2010 15:58

MOS Grin all your charity work sounds amazing

dinkystinky · 20/10/2010 08:55

Morning all. Have been offline with gastric flu for a few days - back in the land of the semi living now, though reading all that SM and MoS have been up to has tired me out so may need to go find somewhere to lie down in the office...

OP posts:
SummerRain · 20/10/2010 11:24

Sorry you've been ill dinky, hope you're feeling a lot better now.

It's freezing here, kids have a half day and parent teacher meetings this afternoon so can't even curl up in front of the fire and pretend the outside world doesn't exist.

littlesez · 21/10/2010 09:38

HI girls Smile

dinky sorry you have been poorly Sad hope your ok.

I am taking an internet break, I have been spending too much time online on here and a million other different places. I feel extremeley guilty as need to spend more time on work stuff, with my lovely daughter and some me time doing meditation and yoga.

see you all really soon xxx

dinkystinky · 21/10/2010 10:10

Have a nice break Littlesez and hopefully see you back on refreshed, happy and rejuvenated soon Wink

Summer - hope you managed to survive the freezing cold yesterday. Its arctic in London today. Danny woke up at 5 this morning as his room (the bedroom he and DS1 share is the warmest room in the flat) was 15 degrees Shock It was 21 degrees when I went to bed last night...

OP posts:
SummerRain · 21/10/2010 10:48

15 degrees would be warm compared to my house tbh... we haven't turned on the heating yet Shock

dinkystinky · 21/10/2010 12:49

Summerrain - that was with the heating (am a wuss, cant hold out till November...)

OP posts:
SummerRain · 21/10/2010 16:35

I'm regretting the decision to do so so you might be wise there dinky [shivers]

SilveryMoon · 21/10/2010 21:01

Hi all
Sorry I've not been on, so busy trying to work, clean the flat and spend time with the boys.
It's all going well though and the boys seem to be adjusting quite well to their new routines.
Hope everyone is ok.
I'll catch up on the weekend xxxx

dinkystinky · 22/10/2010 09:15

Glad all is going well with you SilveryMoon - hope you're still enjoying the job. Its quite a tough juggling act to start trying to fit everything in around working but I bet you, you'll find it'll all slot into place soon. I amazed myself last night by finding the time and energy to bake 2 batches of fairy cakes for DS1's class cake sale today (of which I was given all of one evening's notice - why oh why do schools never give abit more notice?!!)

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 23/10/2010 06:24

Morning.
dinky that is bad re the cake sale.
I'm sure I'll find a new routine too once my body adjusts and I'm not so tired all the time.

So glad it's half-term now.
When we go back, there is going to be a massive shift around of staff and pupils.
It is felt that the kids aren't benefiting as best they could. There are a couple of severly autistic ones who are quite challenging to manage in class, so as there aren't enough of them to have another ASD base class, they are doing a class of half ASD and half strong learners, so I am being moved with most of my current kids into the new split class. There will be 8 kids and 6 staff so that the more autistic ones can get the 1:1 and structure they need to cope in lessons.
The shocking thing about it, is that the parents haven't even been told! How angry would you be if your dc's school switched your child into another class and didn't bother to tell you?

Anyway, what's everyone got planned for half-term? Notg much here, dp is away on a training course, so me and boys are just gonna take it easy and see what we feel like.
I'm off to Woking today to visit a friend and her new baby

mentalpup · 24/10/2010 22:52

Looks like I'm back off to the AN club again! Number 3 now, due June 2011! In shock!!! :)
