Happy Birthday George Smile

mixedmamameansbusiness · 10/01/2011 10:47

Happy Birthday George.

Ginge - am happy with anything really although if there is too much climbing involved in soft play where I have to crawl around after E might be difficult so for me lunch but will go with majority. Also it has just occurred to me that once Feb is over I will be 38 weeks so dont plan around me anyway. Funny how I keep making plans and forgetting.

gingeme · 10/01/2011 11:07

Thankyou ladies for the birthday wishes. Had a little party yesterday and George got some fab presants.
Yes agree with you on the lunch idea Jks. Ill have a look and see what's central for everyone and child friendly and get back to you.

madmouse · 10/01/2011 17:23

gingeme · 13/01/2011 12:34

Meet up.
There is a realy nice Pizza Hut near me on the A10 near a big Cineworld. Is this any good to anyone? Its got a massive car park, mainly because the car park is for the cinema too.
Anyone?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 13/01/2011 12:56

I know that one... I used to go clubbing across the road. ahh the memories. It is near southbury road station I think. Sure I can manage that pending feeling up to it on the day.

simpson · 13/01/2011 15:58

As long as its near a tube/train station count me in Grin

I also need to give my mum enough notice for her to pick up Ds from school.

gingeme · 13/01/2011 16:43

Simpson the nearest station is Oakwood but then you would have to get a bus,307 or 121 from there. Its only about 15-20 mins bus ride. You cant miss the cinema.....

simpson · 13/01/2011 17:13

That sounds fine Smile

Will get directions nearer the time.

Which date are we going for???

JustKeepSwimming · 13/01/2011 18:08

Looks like a straightforward drive if I can make it, depends on time, date & energy levels!

gingeme · 13/01/2011 20:08

Any date between the 6th and 19th Feb ? Grin

simpson · 13/01/2011 20:26

Fridays not good for me but other than that any date is fine Smile

gingeme · 14/01/2011 08:44

Good one Simpson . Anyone else ?
Edward had a great play date at his new nursery yesterday. I stayed with him but I realy don't think hrs going to have any trouble settling in. He goes on his own today for an hour then 12.30- 2.30 Monday.
George is doing what David did. Missed the 'terrible twos' and is starting terrible threes! Oh the tantrums over what it seems to be nothing. Argh....
Anyway off to playgroup now.
Have a good weekend all x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 14/01/2011 11:00

Our tantrums are getting worse - louder and more physical.... however before there was no talking to E or moving on from it whereas now we seem to be developign a strategy together mostly which involves me ignoring if we are at home once we have explored every other angle or just putting him in the pushchair and dealing with all the looks of the passers by. He will also hug and listen to me explain why I was upset etc, so although the actual tantrum is worse it si sort of better Hmm

I will come by overground or bus I reckon to meet up if I make it, but am familiar with the area so should be cool.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 14/01/2011 11:03

Also how many of your LO's walk everywhere/most places. E really doesnt although he is asking to more so now we tend to get lying down on the floor etc if we dont go the way he wants etc hence why I still take the pushchair as i cant carry him even without being pregnant to be honest - i am so feeble. I really need him to start being more independent before baby gets here. List of things:

  • Out of nappies; just not working
  • Walking and being sensible
  • Getting himself dressed and undressed. We are progressing with this, he will now take his coat off hang it up and take his shoes off and also take his PJs off.

Any ideas for any of the above welcome.

AngeChica · 14/01/2011 13:47

Happy birthday to those shiny not-so-new ones I have missed. A had a good start at nursery but have had some tears and fuss for the childminder (who has to do the runs). I would love to re negotiate my hours this year so I can do the morning run. We'll see.

He's a good walker MM - our buggy is virtually redundant now. He walks quite a lot on the school and nursery runs with the CM so is used to it as well as walks out with us and dog at weekend. Reward at end of walk? ("We go as far as this shop and you can choose a treat?") He can get undressed but not dressed. Has now refused night time nappy so totally out of nappies now. Been daytime trained a few months but I don't know what to recommend all DCs seem different.

gingeme · 14/01/2011 14:43

We don't use the buggy at all now though we still have it just in case.Hes too busy trying to catvh up with his brothers to be stucki in the buggy Grin
G still wears nappies at night time but has been dry for quite a while day time.
He will undress himself but won't dress himself except for his pants Hmm

mixedmamameansbusiness · 14/01/2011 17:09

Walking with S seems to really work well as they pretend to ride horses and S is really good at listening and asking where he can run to, it is when he isnt with us that it is a massive problem.

Simps - interested to hear about potty training from your POV we have pretty horrendous poos and I think I am holding back on my part of the training for this reason.
