MM - potty training is just not happening here tbh although I think part of it is me not wanting to deal with the mess Blush

She has reacted very badly to calpol so we have had horrific poos today

I have told her pull ups/nappies are going when she is 3

She is desperate to go to nursery school so i will use that as an incentive if need be.

I do still use the buggy but not nearly as much as I used to. Not used it much since the summer holidays tbh. M now walks to and fro on school run. I use buggy if I am doing a shop (useful basket) and also as I don't drive I would not necessarily expect her to walk the distances I do iyswim.

M is very good and dressing/undressing herself although I have to keep explaining that if she can't put something on, not to lie there screaming "I can't do it" but to ask nicely Hmm

latrucha · 14/01/2011 19:26

LOL simpson. Sabela does thart if she just can't be bothered to do it. She can't fully getherself dressed and undressed, mainly because I haven't taught her. She can do bottoms but not tops. I just forgot to even try it with her until a few days ago.

We regularly use the pushchair as I don't drive and S can't quite mamage a walk to town, round town and then home - though she does try. I have a double which is an expensive model I bought very cheaply second hand on Preloved. I'd do that again any day. Better than a cheap one first hand IMO as it pushes so easily. I also have a very light Silver Cross Fizz. Easy to push with D in sling. Looking back, I wish I'd bought the slightly heavier Pop as it would have been better for D too. We often walk into town, D in sling, S in puschair. then S gets out and D gets in pushchair.

What about waiting with the potty training unti baby is out but not yet moving about. If it's not working now, pushing it won't help. I refused to do it while pregnant. Too much stooping.

Oh, and threes worse than twos here too! We have 'cries' twenty times a day and 'big cries' sometimes. Sh ehas an absolute fit if I go upstairs without her wqhich drives me nuts. I do think by now I could hsave a wee without being screamed at.

simpson · 14/01/2011 21:55

Oh nooo don't say 3s are worse than 2s

Actually I cannot complain about M today as i have been poorly and she has let me doze on sofa most of the day.

Although she does insist on hounding the cats Hmm

Hmm, I could come on a Wed for lunch but not H as he's at pre-sch until 12.30.

Though I am like Simps on non-pre-sch days anyway as I have to get back for 3, don't really know people well enough at school to ask them to have T.
Tricky.

Did I tell you all i'm off for a night away from the DC?! Grin
DH has a work do tomorrow night, then H has GOSH appts on Tues.
So I'm going up on my own to do some maternity clothes shopping (i know, 3rd time round you'd think i have everything, lol!), then meet DH, go to this work drinks thing, then we're staying in London overnight.
On Tues morning, Kirsty (our Nanny/H's 1-to-1 at pre-sch) will bring H up by train, we'll meet them off the train and go to GOSH.
She'll look after both boys on Mon, and T on Tues until I get back, yey!

If it works out, may try and fit in a couple more nights pre-baby :)

So am frantically trying to pack/sort/write lists if info for 2 days, so much work it's crazy!

simpson · 16/01/2011 19:47

Happy Birthday Aaliyah Grin

I need your help!!

I asked M about 3wks ago what she would like for her birthday and I asked her today and got the same answer, so basically she's not going to forget

Anyway, she wants a watch and it has to be pink Hmm

I don't want to get her a real one (too much ££) and the only toy ones I can find on line are wooden bracelet ones which I know won't do as she wants one like J's that has a proper strap iyswim.

Anyone got any ideas where to look??

JustKeepSwimming · 16/01/2011 20:03

Woolworths?
here

or search on Amazon 'pink watch' there are loads. And some real ones that aren't too expensive too.
And if you click on Toys & Games, after searching for 'pink watch' there's a cute Hello Kitty one for £5.

I would say (teacher head on) don't get on with Roman numerals, proper numbers is best :)

simpson · 16/01/2011 20:09

LOL JKS - I have just found the hello Kitty one myself Grin

Have book marked it and will probably order it tomorrow it looks ideal Smile

simpson · 16/01/2011 20:12

Oooh just found a mickey/minnie mouse one for £2.99 Grin Grin

latrucha · 16/01/2011 20:21

simpson · 16/01/2011 20:46

Lilyloo · 16/01/2011 20:54

Grin 'sorry no excuses can i come back ?' pleeeease .............

Lilyloo · 16/01/2011 20:56

Happy birthday to Sabela and Amelie managed to catch everyone else on fb Smile

Lilyloo · 16/01/2011 21:08

Can't begin to catch up but on the present front i have got M some Peppa pig royal figures to go with her castle she got at xmas , a trinket box for all her puppy in my pockets and a balance bike.

Things all good here , Lily was 6 on Thursday so took her and Martha to build a bear today , spent a bomb that place is way too expensive.
Martha has been fab with potty training and was dry day and night pretty much straight away. But she still has dummy and blanket , the dummy will be going this week after her birthday.

No excuses as to not being around just life and i hover on fb as i find i can pop on and off there quickly which doesn't happen on mnet !!

Hope you all had lovely xmas x

latrucha · 16/01/2011 21:29

Hi Lily!

Well, presents got complicated because of Christmas/ Reyes/ Birthday but favourites from the haul are: Gruffalo magnet book, doll's house, mini Baby Born ambulance, scissors and for those of you with babes on the way this. Great fun for all the family, although it was a present for Daniel.

Oh, and PINK tunic and leggins with cakes on it.

Fancy dress was a total flop.

Anyone got any tips for farty babies? Daniel is having trouble with wind down below, especially at night.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/01/2011 10:08

Gingeme - Have put the meet up in my diary. I will be 36 weeks by then so plan on coming but may bail out at the last minute. Just checked out my route and it involves 2 trains and a bus. The first train station is next to S school then from Highbury I need to get to Enfield Chase and get a bus which it looks like stops close by. Should be fine providing E is behaving and we can come without the pushchair.

gingeme · 17/01/2011 13:29

Sorry JKS would a Saturday or Sunday be easier ? Didn't even think of that ! Sunday 6th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th ?

gingeme · 19/01/2011 08:54

Heloooooo...........!!!!!

latrucha · 19/01/2011 17:09

Hello all - anyone know about farty babies? Daniel is being disturbed a lot at night by wind at the bottom end. I've taken to winding him after a feed but I don't feel that that is the problem. I've given him some Yakult, in case it's to do with the antibiotics he was on and I'm drinking fennel tea as someone suggested it might help.

Any tips?

Hello Gingeme Wink I'm listening!
