Hello new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Fillybuster · 17/11/2010 15:53

I like Teddington too :) :)

Yay for J, Simpson - I'm delighted your parents evening was so great Grin Ours was too - apparently Ari is a pleasure to teach and doing really well...hurrah! I wasn't hugely worried but its always nice to hear really positive feedback from teachers, especially as this time last year there was so much emphasis on how he might have slight issues with writing/manual control etc and now it was all about how nice and tidy his writing is, how well he concentrates and how fab he is at numeracy GrinGrin

What do you have to do now about schools Gingeme? Are you and David supposed to just wait until a place becomes free? Surely not...

simpson · 17/11/2010 16:39

MM - nickname Teddy Grin

Molly would like the name Ben as she is obsessed with all things Ben & Holly Smile

Filly - glad A's parents eve went well too. Uncanny that they were saying all the things you said A was getting last yr about J too.

House is very quiet this eve as J is at a friends house to play/have tea. The mum is dropping him off later Smile

gingeme · 17/11/2010 21:38

Ben and Holly drive me mad as we have watched the same ones over and over and over......Hmm
Yes Filly just sit and wait though DH has been chatting to a guy at his work whos wife works with school admissions and says most children aren't out of school any more than 6 weeks so he has 2 weeks to go. Trouble with that is he'll go to school have a few weeks to settle and make friends then break up for Christmas. Ah well he's in the system.

simpson · 17/11/2010 21:40

If I hear the expression "jelly flood" one more time I shall scream Blush

Its all M talks about....

Oh well, makes a difference from Peppa Pig I guess Grin

madmouse · 18/11/2010 15:17

Hey all - MM congrats on another boy. Sorry about teasing you on fb - you asked for a name that works in Turkish and Bengoli and a bit different and all I could think of was Ahmed.

How about Emmet? Sorry if that has already been mentioned.

LaT thinking of you.

Waving at everyone else - hope you're ok Smile

Nathan is going to have botox!!! Basically the cerebral palsy makes his right elbow very stiff making it nigh on impossible to use his right hand. Consultant thinks that relaxing the elbow plus intensive physio may help him learn to use the hand, with a permanent effect that lasts even when the elbow goes stiff again after six months

It does mean (gulp) his first general anaesthetic, albeit a very light one, just to keep him lying still. we expressed our fear that the GA might trigger the epilepsy that he was meant to have but doesn't, but the consultant says his anaesthesist is used to working with children who do have seizure disorders and he knows how to prevent it. So that reassured us enough to go ahead. Although I will be unliveable with on the day no doubt Blush

gingeme · 19/11/2010 11:03

Wow madmouse sounds fab though even though Nathan will be sleepy. What a difference it will make to your brave little boy x
How far along are you now MM ? Would you not wait till your lo is born to decide on his name?
Well we have been in our lovely house a month today. Seems like alot longer. DH has put a bath in now. He is doing the tiles and seal today so should all be finnished by this evening. AH a lovely soak is in store for me I think.
Our kitten is setteling in nicely now too. He escaped out a very tiny gap in our kitchen window last night Shock We could hear him meowing and meowing and looked all around the house for him. DH opened the back door and in he strolled bold as brass Hmm
Still waiting to hear about a school for David. We will ring the council on Monday.

Gingeme - glad your kitten is settling in ours seem to rule the roost Hmm

madmouse - hope proceedure goes as smoothly as J's did. Am here to chat whenever you want Smile

Right, quick Q...

J goes his first much harder reading book tonight and it features the Royal family (well the Duke of edinburgh) How do you explain the Royal family to a child of 5???

I asked M today what she wants from santa and she said a real fairy!!! Mmmmm might be a tough one lol Smile

madmouse · 20/11/2010 12:47

Simpson is he familiar with the concept of King and Queen? If so the Royal family is the king and queens brothers and sisters who are all a bit special too?

latrucha · 20/11/2010 13:15

Dad died last night at 10.30. We're ok.

madmouse · 20/11/2010 13:30

LaT hun that's gone quickly. Sending you hugs and thinking of you. Glad you feel ok, here if you need me xxxx

JustKeepSparkling · 20/11/2010 14:00

LaT :(
I hope you are ok, and your SM too.

simpson · 20/11/2010 16:10

LaT - thinking of you Sad ((hugs))

if you want to PM me your address of where you are staying, I am more than happy to get a little parcel of things to occupy S & D for you...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 20/11/2010 17:03

LaT - sso sorry. As always am here as with everyone else.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 20/11/2010 17:06

MM - brilliant news for Nathan, I hope it helps. It isnt the same, but S had a GA when he was 1 as he was circumcised on the NHS due to other complications and I found it so distressing and harrowing too. so pleasedd that they should be able t help him outthough.

Ginge - congrats on the 1 month. We named the other two the moment they were born and when we called/text everyone to let them know it was to let them know that Johnny Test Ben 10 was born if you see what I mean.

angechica · 21/11/2010 12:19

So sorry for your loss LaT. He's at peace now.

Fillybuster · 21/11/2010 20:41

Oh LaT, I'm so sorry for your loss but also glad that your father is now at peace and no longer suffering. Sending you and all your family much love for the days and weeks ahead xx

gingeme · 21/11/2010 21:52

Sad So sorry LaT. Love and hugs to you and your family in this sad time xx

latrucha · 24/11/2010 10:16

Didn't mean to kill the thread!

simpson · 24/11/2010 11:07

LaT - how are you doing??

Am enjoying a few hours to myself as M at nursery & J at school Smile

Gingeme - fab news on David's school....

JustKeepSparkling · 24/11/2010 11:27

Hi LaT - how's things?

Gingeme - good news on sch for D, hope it works out well.

Simps - me too, having DC-free time :)

I tried out our new pool for a short swim earlier, so unfit it's untrue. PG brain meant i just could not figure out the signs for which way to swim in the lanes, even though i've done it hundreds of times before Confused

Have come home and had a hot bath, now just waiting for H & nanny to get home for lunchtime. Have loads i feel i should be doing but not getting very far with it sat on the sofa, lol :)

Feeling lots of baby movements, which is lovely :)

H awake at 3.30, think he fell out of bed, for the first time, he went back to sleep fine but i didn't for ages, then both boys up at 7 which is miraculous! Hope it happens again (the 7, not the 3.30 bit).

Off to buy some sleds/sledges (?) later with T in case we get any of this promised snow...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 24/11/2010 13:25

LaT - hope you are all holding up ok.

JKS - I fail to comprehend or retain anything at the moment so understand. I am doing no exercise whatsoever so that my body reacts big time once the baby is here... although to be fair I do loads of walking with E to this group and that.

Ginge - congras on the school.

We have one of S school friend round for a playdate tonight.... he is lovelybut very boisterous and really bings this out in S (which is a good thing I suppose) but E needs no excuse so I envisage carnage this evening.

Hello to everyone.....

simpson · 24/11/2010 17:09

Well H has truely excelled this time Angry

I have just rung him so Dcs can speak to him and he was drunk Angry Angry

I let him speak to kids as I did not realise at first....

Anyway words were said and I am afraid to say I lost my cool and called him a fucking wanker not nice word Blush Then I hung up on him

I have just texted his sister (not that she can do much) to let her know what happened and that I will not let kids speak to him again.

I have also texted H to say that its not doing kids any good speaking to him on phone so I don't want him calling anymore (currently he calls on a friday and I call his mobile on a wed)

I am so wound up I am shaking!!! Grrrr Angry

But am Sad for DCs iyswim.

A parcel arrived this morning but I was out and I think its some clothes for J & M from H so he does try in some ways but just not enough Sad

madmouse · 24/11/2010 17:13

LaT we have been friends on here for so long hun what made you think your sadness could possible kill the thread Shock - we are all here for you xx

Simpson - words fail grrrrrr Angry - will be around tonight if you need to vent - can't do it Saturday with kids around...

gingeme · 25/11/2010 17:29
