madmouse · 10/08/2010 18:35

gingeme WST = madmouse rofl Grin

we're both fine - had a nice day at the zoo!!!!

fillybuster · 10/08/2010 20:11

Its grim in North London today, isn't it ladies?! Ah well, I braved it and took Mia and Tamara to do the dreaded 'school uniform shopping' run - had to get all the kit for Tamara before she starts pre-school in Sept. Annoyingly they've intrduced a proper school uniform (did'nt have one when A was there) but haven't sent me a list of what she needs...grrr...

So we had to do 'trying on clothes' (cue tears), trying on shoes (actually, she was impressively well behaved) and also attempted to get as much stuff for Ari as possible without him to make the next trip easier. There were 2 very not fun bits: urgently having to feed Mia in the middle of the shopping centre (but Tamara loved the excuse to share a drink and chocolate croissant with me so I think that turned into a good thing from her pov, if not mine!) and T urgently needing the loo in the middle of an entirely toilet-free retail park....arrrghhh...!!!! Eventually I got her to squat next to the car - its definitely easier with boys Grin!!

Still very tired - I keep telling myself Mia is only just 7 weeks but even though I'm enjoying the baby stuff so much more this time, I also really really really need my sleep with 3 under 5! Ah well, A will be 5 next week, and 3 under 6 can't possibly be as hard - can it?! HmmGrin

JKS - fingers crossed :) :)

Madmouse - welcome back!! I've missed you :) And farewell WST - you have, and you will :) And I loved the zoo pics :)

Welcome back Lilyloo :)

Gingeme- any suggestions for cheap local rainy day stuff? I can't think of anything except the RAF museum and there's a limit to how often we can go there!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 11/08/2010 10:25

Morning,

Grin madmouse, welcome back!

Grin jks...... waiting!!!!

Hello all. Have read and just popping on to wave hello.

Filly - eurrhg to uniform shopping for little ones, I wonder why they think uniform is necessary for T's age group. I am rather disapointed that S school dont have a uniform as I was rather looking forward to that.

JustKeepSwimming · 11/08/2010 17:11

Gingeme - how was Gullivers? Bit far for us to go I think but possible when the boys are older maybe.

Well ClearBlue says...pregnant! Grin

DH finally convinced, lol.

EDD mid-April i think.

Feeling much better this morning so think stomach bug has gone thankfully.

fillybuster · 12/08/2010 09:46

Don't worry JKS, was just teasing - I have seen how active the JKS-clan are on FB :) :)

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/08/2010 11:02

Yay JKS. So excited for you.

Ginge - we went to Gullivers last summer DH was unimpressed as S just wanted to play in the cowboy part and not really ride anything, am having trouble convincing him to go back and will take a picnic next time as the food was dire beyond belief.

Hello everyone.

Filly are we still on for coffee at the end of August - was it 25th? I am good to do the Crouch End park you mentioned if that is easier for you than the Heath.

fillybuster · 12/08/2010 13:28

MM - I'm struggling to stay on top of the dcs social plans for the rest of the school hols...! At the moment, I think I can do 25th (although I'm not sure what the various dcs are up to...) but can't commit as I had forgotten we have a number of family members and close friends visiting the uk next week and the week after and we are supposed to be spending lots of quality time catching up with them Hmm....is it ok if we confirm nearer the time? I totally understand if you want to make other arrangements for that day....sorry Blush

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/08/2010 14:01

Thats fine Filly. I am likely to be pottering around locally somewhere.

gingeme · 14/08/2010 10:56

Hi ladies.
Gullivers was great. Agree on taking a pic nic though . Never have eaten there but was warned the food is quite expensive.
I can recomend Lee Valley Park Farm. Not realy indoors but it's cheap and a lovely day and the food there is yum and reasonable. They are doing a new thing for the hols where the kids have to do and see different things as they go round which they get stamps for and a certificate at the end and free child tickets for next time. You can also get a tractor ride to a nearby dairy farm and see the cows getting milked. A bit smelly but the boys were fascinated !!
Congratulations JKS x
That's about it from 'me'. I'm off on my hold today. To Hampshire, New Forest for a wek
Ion s caravan.

JustKeepSwimming · 14/08/2010 11:22

Gingeme - have fun :)
That park does sound good, may look it up for another time.

We are off later for 2 weeks in Jersey though i should still have internet - when not actually surfing...Hmm Grin

gingeme · 14/08/2010 11:59

Oops that was typed on my phone and went a bit funny. DH making lunch then well be on our way. Can't check in till 3 so no rush. The boys were up at 5.45, excited much? lol

madmouse · 17/08/2010 09:52

Hi all

Having a slow morning here - have a cold, yuk. Off to hospital in 45 mins to collect Nathan's new shoes so need to get dressed soon (it's our day off - although dh is off work with depression so he's around all the time now Sad)

Nathan is growing fast atm, he got really really thin and is now eating frightening amounts of food and filling out. Our friend (his uncle) came back from a week's holiday so hadn't seen him for two weeks and said hang on when I left he only came up to here, now it's here! And he was right as the physio has had to adjust the walking frame lots.

He's doing well, talking more and more, we are starting to think that he has some trouble forming the words and that he in fact speaks in crystal clear (for him) sentences - mutually frustrating!

I have discovered that with some encouragement he can express his wants and needs perfectly - so lots of 'no, don't whine, tell mummy what you want' - and then he does, with words and pointing. Like pointing at the telly and saying 'want vellitis' Smile

We are also working on him standing with very little support as physio and I believe that it is only lack of confidence and fear standing between him and standing alone now. So I just hold the tips of his shoulders and then he shouts at me - he's too clever (says physio ) and knows what I'm trying to do Sad

But he will get there Smile

So, bit of an update on my special boy - hope you're all well xxx

latrucha · 17/08/2010 14:46

Madmouse - that's fantastic news on Nathan almost going solo! Sound slike he and sabela are still very similar in their fear of the new Grin (especially when mummy is so obliging).

Sabela's language is coming on very nicely too - she gabbles all the time but now is saying more spontaneously that we can understand, including, 'Sabela loves Danny' ahhh.

She's also very afraid of getting things wrong though, and will often mutter to cover her shyness.

We've been at my Dad's and had a really lovely time, despite my brother's best efforts via telephone to bring us all down and steal the show at the same time. It's easier nbow that Sabela is more outgoing and will happily sit and chatter on her Grandad's knee. Lovely.

Juggling two is still going ok, although Danny seems happier sleeping in his chair than lying down, so often spends the night in the crook of my arm. I've bought him some bed blocks in case he has indigestion but we've not yet put up his cot. Any tips for sleeping upright in bed? Grin

(DH has v painful cyst under his arm, that's why no cot)

JKS - what's the NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JustKeepSwimming · 17/08/2010 17:00

Not here really you understand ;)

LaT - all is fine, spotting has stopped, nausea (but no sickness, yet) has kicked in and i can sleep for Britain - just had a 2 hour nap while H did, and DH & T went out 'surfing' Grin

:)

latrucha · 17/08/2010 17:53

fillybuster · 18/08/2010 16:08

Hows your dad doing LaT?

JKS - take it easy!

simpson · 18/08/2010 21:10

Hi all Smile

Feet up JKS thats an order LOL Grin

All good here although yesterday was a bit stressful Blush

Was supposed to meet my mum for lunch at her work then take Dcs to a kiddies yoga class and it took 25mins to leave the house.

J regaling in great detail the plot of the latest Ben10 episode and going on and on....

M refusing to put socks then shoes on then refusing to get in buggy etc

Kitties running riot and I was trying to lock them in kitchen but got one in for the other to escape etc...

Anyway eventually left house, slammed door to realise keys in house

"No worries" I say to myself as I have spare hidden in garden for this very reason but it would not fit in bloomin' door

Meet my mum late and frazzled (bless her she said I looked tired & offered to have kids overnight on fri Smile)got spare key off her and go to yoga class etc...

Get home and her key won't fit in door either (have twigged by now my keys are in inside of lock) Nearly in tears in front garden Blush

Go round to back garden and by some miracle I had forgotten to lock back door (which never happens) so got in that way

Went to my BBQ on sat night which was really good and nice man is lovely Smile But not sure what is happening, but its nice to have some attention etc. Did not need to take M in the end as a friend stepped in at the last minute Grin

simpson · 18/08/2010 21:12

Forgot to say M's new thing is to call everyone "poo poo head" Blush Blush

How do I deal with that??? Did not think she would be doing that for a while yet Grin

Also braved Clarks today (OMG) to get J's school shoes and it was Hell with a capital H!!

But at least he is all sorted now for Sept Smile
